Chapter: Chapter One Hundred And Thirty Three
Varda’s POV I shifted my gaze to Fransisca, my eyes wide open at her in disbelief. She sighed heavily as she rose to her feet and adjusted the hem of her skimpy dress. “As much as I do not like Varda, she has a point.”“The feeling is mutual.” I mumbled. Fransisca completely ignored me, continuing to speak. “I told you I would not be able to accompany you and Asher to the park for his birthday tomorrow because well, my mother is sick and I need to be there for her. It would not be a bad idea if Varda tagged along instead, Asher really enjoys her company, plus if she says she has something better planned for Asher than I think that is even a great idea.” She explained. Oh so she was not really on my side, she just had bigger things to worry about. “Right?” I chirped in, a small smile plastered on my face. “What do you have planned in mind for him?” Stephen asked. Nothing. To be very honest, I had absolutely nothing planned in mind for him. This was just me trying to use him as a

Varda's POV “Asher, I have got to go. I have something really urgent to do. Can we talk about your birthday plans later?” I raised a brow at him, feeling a bit guilty about suddenly dismissing him since he probably wanted to talk to me. Asher’s face fell in disappointment and I was this close to actually asking him to stay but then I had other plans so I could not exactly ask him to stay. He nodded his head and slowly dragged his feet out of my bedroom. “Sorry Ash, happy birthday again.” I yelled from behind and I did not exactly get a very enthusiastic response but at least I got a response so that meant he was not a hundred percent mad at me, maybe like ninety nine percent. Immediately Asher was out of my room, I dashed out of the room as well but making sure to lock the door and dump the keys into my pockets, just so no one would go into my room and find the phone lying in my wardrobe.I made my way towards Stephen's office in a haste and in less than a minute, I was standing

Chapter: Chapter One Hundred And Thirty One
Varda's POV Davis’ confession made my heart race extremely fast, not because I had any intimate feelings for him but because it was too sudden. Although, I had already suspected it but hearing it made me feel stiff. We had been apart for a really long while, how come he still had feelings for me? Could I still trust him? Or was all of this just some kind of prank?Honestly, these past few months made it extremely difficult for me to trust people. “Varda, are you still there?” Davis’ voice jolted me out of my thoughts and back to reality. I gulped a lump down my throat and cleared my throat before responding. “I-I…” I stuttered. I struggled to think of the right words to use. “I am sorry. I should not have confessed, I must have scared you.” Davis said in a low tone, barely above a whisper but clear enough for me to hear. I released a heavy sigh. “I do not know what to say to you right now Davis. This is all too sudden.” I mumbled. “I know. I am not expecting some kind of answer

Chapter: Chapter One Hundred And Thirty
Varda's POV Elisa rose to her feet and flashed me a warm smile before mouthing. “I will be here if you need anything.”I nodded my head at her, bidding her goodbye. Once Elisa was out of my room. I rushed towards the door to lock it in order to avoid anymore interruptions. My legs moved fast towards the direction of my closet, I opened it widely and fetched the phone out of it. Surprisingly for me, the phone had stopped ringing. Who would have thought the caller would eventually stop calling?I picked up the phone and gazed at it, it was completely unfamiliar to me. However, I felt uneasy. This phone could either be a good thing to me or a bad thing. A bad thing in the sense that what if this was one of Stephen's tricks to test me and I was falling bait to it. I gazed at the phone one last time before swiping the screen up. Surprisingly, the phone was not locked so it was easy for me to access it. The wallpaper was a flower, one I could not identify. I shrugged and scrolled throu

Chapter: Chapter One Hundred And Twenty Nine
Varda's POV My heart raced extremely fast as I gazed at the phone in my purse, ringing loudly. It was strange because the phone looked unfamiliar to me and worse of it all, how could it have gotten into my purse without me knowing? The unknown caller seemed to very persistent, this was the fifth time the phone was ringing and I knew that if I did not pick the call, it probably would not stop ringing. Just as my hands reached for the phone, I heard the sound of footsteps drawing closer to my room. I did not want anybody knowing about the phone, at least not until I had figured out what it was doing in my bag and how it had gotten there in the first place. I hastily picked up the phone and tossed it into my closet, my pile of clothes would do a great job hiding the sound of the ringing tone and the phone. Luckily for me, immediately I shut the closet doors closed, Elisa stepped into my room. I forced a smile on my face and hastily jumped on my bed. “What are you doing here Elisa?”

Chapter: Chapter One Hundred And Twenty Eight
Varda's POV I was beyond irritated at how Davis had completely wasted my time. The worse part was how he was so unapologetic about it. Clenching my fist tight and gritting my teeth, I walked out of his apartment. A part of me kept wishing he would call me back, I even slowed my steps just because of him but none of my wishes came to pass. Davis practically watched me walk out of the apartment. Once I got into the car, Clara was sitting in the back seat, her arms folded and legs crossed. The mischievous smirk on her face made my anger increase. There was absolutely nothing to smile about. I got into the car and sat besides her, I bet my frown was evident because Clara's next words had a hint of mockery in them. “So I am guessing that did not go so well?” A small scoff escaped from my lips. Even if I wanted to rant to someone, Clara was not even an option. “Can we leave now?” I paused to shoot dagger glares at her. “Also, can you move to the front seat? It is really uncomfortable
