Velmora Academy: Falling for My Non-Human Professor
"Miss Elara, get out of my class."
The icy command snapped Elara back to reality. She shot to her feet so fast her chair screeched against the floor, her heart hammering against her ribs.
She blinked wildly at the imposing figure commanding the front of the room: Professor Adrian Kingsley.
Confusion flared before anger could. Why was she being kicked out? She hadn't said a word! She had been sitting there perfectly quietly...
Well, quietly sketching.
Her gaze drifted down to the open notebook on her desk.
Right in the center of the page was an incredibly detailed, charcoal rendition of the professor himself.
She had captured the sharp jawline, the piercing eyes, and, for reasons she couldn't entirely justify…a set of ripped abs that definitely weren't visible beneath his tailored three-piece suit.
‘Oops.’
Heat rushed to her cheeks. Panicking, she leveled a fierce, righteous glare at him, trying to mask her guilt with pure audacity. But the emotionless ice statue didn't even blink.
"Bag," he said coolly.
"What?"
"Take it and leave."
Grinding her teeth, Elara aggressively shoved her notebook into her bag, silently vowing that this man would become the ultimate bane of her existence.
She stomped down the steps, her posture rigid with fury. But just as she brushed past his podium, his deadly voice brushed against her ears.
"And Miss Elara..."
She paused, glaring.
"If you're going to stare at your professor as though you'd like to strip him with your eyes," Adrian murmured, his gaze never leaving his lesson plans, "at least do it somewhere more discreet.”
Elara's face erupted into a brilliant, mortified scarlet.
"You—!"
Choking on her own outrage and utterly devoid of a comeback, she flashed him a defiant middle finger, and stormed out, letting the heavy door slam behind her.

Chapter: Chapter 13: Her ProfessorThe next morning arrived far too quickly. By 9:00 AM, Elara was already fully dressed in her freshly washed, clean uniform, her ginger hair tied back neatly and her black-framed glasses resting firmly on her nose. Before leaving the room, she cast a brief, curious glance over at the second bed. Her mysterious roommate hadn't spoken a single word to her since his arrival yesterday. Right now, he was still sleeping like an absolute log, buried completely beneath a thick duvet. Not even a single lock of his hair was visible. Elara decided not to disturb him. She had her own problems to worry about. Stepping out into the hallway, she rushed down the stairs, heading straight toward the cafeteria to grab a quick, simple breakfast before her very first class. To her immense relief, the massive dining hall was almost entirely empty at this hour. The grand space was quiet, lacking the suffocating presence of the arrogant seniors who had terrorized her the day before. Elara quickly pur

Chapter: Chapter 12: An Unwanted RoommateElara’s feet hammered against the cold stone steps as she practically sprinted up the stairs toward the fifth floor. Her lungs burned, and her legs felt like lead, but her mind was too consumed by sheer humiliation and rage to care about the physical pain. Right now, she cursed the absolute lack of a student elevator more than ever. The staircase felt completely endless, stretching on like a cruel joke designed specifically to keep her trapped in her own misery. To make matters ten times worse, every single student she passed on the landings gave her filthy, repulsive looks. They stared at her as if she were a disgusting insect crawling across a clean floor, stepping far out of her way to avoid touching the greasy, mushroom-soup-stained uniform she was wearing. Elara gripped the strap of her bag so hard her knuckles turned white. Tears flooded her eyes, blurring her vision until the stone steps became a hazy, indistinct smear. It was unbelievable. The students in this grand, p

Chapter: Chapter 11: The Smell of Bourbon and CedarwoodElara was truly stunned, and most importantly, her heart was literally bleeding. It would be a complete lie to say that she was not hurt. She was deeply, profoundly hurt by Julian's disgusting, vile words and by the mocking, sneering faces of the other students who looked at her as if she had come crawling straight out of a gutter. Even though she was poor and had grown up as an orphan, no one had ever treated her with such absolute malice. She had always worked hard, kept her head down, and earned her place through sheer intelligence. Being stripped of her dignity in a public room full of people was making her eyes violently tear up. She looked down at her pathetic meal tray. The plain rice and lukewarm vegetables had cost her five dollars…a small fortune for her current budget. She could not dare to waste it. She literally did not have the financial luxury to throw away food out of pride. Sitting down alone at the table, she began stuffing the food into her mouth. She

Chapter: Chapter 10: The First Public WarElara clutched the straps of her small bag with trembling fingers, her eyes wide as she stood in the center of the grand Velmora Academy cafeteria. Calling it a cafeteria was an absolute insult. The space was cavernous, designed with high, vaulted stone ceilings, floating crystal chandeliers, and long, polished mahogany tables. It looked like a five-star Michelin restaurant, packed with elaborate buffet stations that served everything from roasted venison and caviar to imported delicate pastries. But the moment Elara’s eyes drifted toward the digital menu boards displaying the prices, her heart sank straight into her stomach. A single side dish cost more than her entire weekly grocery budget back in the city. The numbers were astronomical, clearly catered to the wealthy elite and high-ranking students who populated the academy. Feeling a cold sweat break out on the back of her neck, she bypassed the lavish meat stations and walked straight to the most economical section at t

Chapter: Chapter 09: The Brute and the Slum InsultMarcus’s expression darkened, his voice dropping into a harsh whisper. "You think you're dreaming too much. Don't forget what happened last year. The human student ended up dead, and the entire academy faced such serious regulations. All of our advanced training classes were reprimanded and restricted. I really would not want to go through that again because of any pf you."Asher merely chuckled, entirely nonchalant as he leaned his elbows against the stone railing. "Marcus, you worry way too much. Relax." His gaze narrowed, locking directly onto Elara. "Look at Little Red Riding Hood down there. She really looks striking with that ginger hair. Her face is incredibly attractive, even with those big black frames she's wearing."Marcus glanced down, his eyes narrowing. "So, you have already decided to make her your target?"Asher whispered back, a faint smile playing on his lips. "What target? Can't a guy just admire a pretty lady?"Down below, Elara kept her eyes glued forward, comp

Chapter: Chapter 08: The Opening CeremonyFinally, they reached the fifth floor. The young man set her heavy suitcase down right in front of her designated door with a soft thud, entirely unfazed by the steep climb. He leaned back against the wall, flashing her one last dazzling, dimpled smile. "By the way, I'm Asher," he said, pointing a finger toward the very end of the long corridor. "My room is right at the corner over there. If you ever need help with anything else or if you just want to yell some more creative curses…you know where to find me."Elara looked toward the last door down the quiet hallway and gave a small nod, adjusting her glasses. "I'm Elara. And thanks... for the lift.""You're welcome, Elara," Asher chuckled, turning on his heel. He waved over his shoulder as he disappeared down the hallway, his footsteps fading away.Once he was out of sight, Elara let out a massive sigh of relief. The tension drained from her shoulders. She quickly swiped her new ID card against the electronic lock, pushed the heavy
