The Rules of Hell

Elena’s fingers tightened around the thick folder until the edges dug into her palms as she stormed out of the elevator and into the cold evening air outside Rossi Tower. The city noise hit her like a slap. Honking cars, rushing pedestrians, the distant wail of a siren, but none of it could drown out the roaring in her head.

She didn’t go far. She couldn’t. Her legs felt too weak.

She sank onto a cold metal bench a block away, heart still racing, body still burning from that charged encounter in his office. The folder lay open on her lap like a venomous snake ready to strike. With shaking hands, she forced herself to read every brutal clause properly this time.

Curfew: 10 p.m. unless accompanied by the Husband.

No unapproved male friends. All social interactions subject to prior approval.

Must reside full-time in the Penthouse at Rossi Tower.

Public affection required when the situation demands it. Hands-holding, physical closeness, kissing.

Total obedience to reasonable instructions regarding behavior, dress, and movement.

Heavy financial penalties for every violation. Loss of the entire five-million-dollar trust for Claire if she attempted to break or terminate the contract early.

It wasn’t a marriage. It was a fucking cage wrapped in diamonds and legal threats.

Rage exploded in her chest like wildfire. This man wanted to own her. Control her every move. Parade her around like a trophy wife while she played the perfect, obedient doll for his precious merger.

ā€œFuck this,ā€ she muttered under her breath.

She shot up from the bench, folder clutched tightly in her hand, and marched straight back into Rossi Tower. To her shock, the security guards didn’t stop her. They simply nodded and escorted her back up to the top floor like they had been expecting her return.

When she burst back into his office without knocking, Alessandro was still behind his massive desk, looking calm, composed… and slightly amused, as if he’d been waiting for her little rebellion.

ā€œYou arrogant bastard,ā€ Elena snapped, slamming the folder down on his desk with a loud smack. ā€œYou expect me to sign this shit? Curfews? No male friends? I have to kiss you whenever you feel like it in public? You want me to be your obedient little whore while you play the perfect husband for your precious merger?ā€

Sandro slowly rose from his chair. A dark, amused glint flickered in those cold black eyes. The corner of his mouth curved. Not quite a smile, but close enough to make her want to slap him and kiss him at the same time.

ā€œI see the fire again,ā€ he murmured, voice low and rough like velvet dragged over gravel. ā€œGood. I’d hate to cage a lamb.ā€

ā€œI’m not a toy you can control!ā€ Elena shouted, stepping closer even though every survival instinct screamed at her to run. ā€œI’m a person. I have a sister who needs me. I have a lifeā€”ā€

ā€œYou have nothing but debt and danger,ā€ he cut in smoothly, rounding the desk with predatory grace.

He stalked toward her. Elena refused to back down.

When he finally stopped, they were barely a foot apart. His scent, rich sandalwood mixed with something darker, more masculine  wrapped around her like invisible chains. She could see the faint shadow of stubble along his strong jaw, the way his expensive black suit stretched across his broad chest and powerful shoulders.

ā€œYour father didn’t just steal from us, Elena,ā€ he said, voice dropping to a dangerously soft whisper. ā€œHe betrayed the Rossi family to the Conti family. Fed them sensitive information. Got good men killed. Then he ran like the coward he was. The Contis have been waiting for the perfect moment to strike  right before this merger closes. They already know your name. They know about Claire.ā€

Elena’s stomach dropped like a stone.

ā€œMarrying you makes you a Rossi,ā€ Sandro continued, his dark eyes locked intensely on hers. ā€œIt protects you. It protects your sister. And it gives me the stable, respectable image my European partners demand. This contract is punishment for your father’s sins… and your salvation at the same time.ā€

Elena’s breath hitched as he stepped even closer. The heat radiating from his powerful body made her skin tingle all over. Her nipples hardened painfully against the thin fabric of her bra. She hated how wet she was becoming, just from the way he looked at her  like he wanted to devour her slowly, piece by piece, until there was nothing left.

ā€œYou’re sick,ā€ she whispered, but her voice came out hoarse and breathless, betraying her.

ā€œPerhaps.ā€ His gaze dropped to her lips, raw hunger flashing across his face for a split second. ā€œBut I’m the only monster standing between you and people who will hurt Claire without hesitation to get what they want.ā€

The tension between them was suffocating. Elena could feel her pulse throbbing between her thighs. Her body was betraying her completely. Thighs pressing together, core aching, mind flashing with filthy images of him pushing her against that massive desk, those large hands gripping her hips, that controlled voice growling commands in her ear.

Sandro lifted one hand slowly, almost gently, and tucked a loose braid behind her ear. His fingertips brushed the sensitive skin of her neck, sending a sharp jolt of electricity straight down her spine and between her legs. She barely suppressed a shiver.

ā€œYou have twenty-four hours,ā€ he said, voice like dark velvet wrapped around steel. ā€œThink about your sister. Think about the life you could finally give her. Think very carefully about what will happen if you walk away from me.ā€

He leaned in until his lips were inches from her ear, his warm breath fanning across her skin.

ā€œSign, Elena… and your sister lives.ā€

His voice dropped even lower, dangerous and sinfully promising.

ā€œRefuse… and the wolves will tear you both apart.ā€

Elena shivered violently. Heat pooled low in her belly, slick and undeniable. Her body ached with a need so intense it terrified her.

She snatched the folder from the desk, clutching it to her chest like a shield, and turned away before she did something truly stupid, like leaning into him, like pressing her lips to that cruel, beautiful mouth.

But as she walked out of his office for the second time that day, legs shaky and her core throbbing with shameful arousal, one terrifying truth settled deep in her bones:

She was no longer just afraid of Alessandro Rossi.

She was desperately, dangerously afraid of how much she wanted him.

Healing TouchThe Sicilian night stretched dark and endless beyond the windows. But inside the villa, the real storm was just beginning.Elena lay in the bed, the sheets still warm from their shared surrender, the gentle sex a fleeting moment of peace that couldn’t erase the dread coiling in her stomach. Valentina was making her biggest play yet. The woman who had tried to seduce Sandro at dinner, who had poisoned her mind with half-truths, was now demanding a private audience in the heart of Rossi territory. The timing was too perfect. Too dangerous. She couldn’t stay in bed. The villa felt too quiet, too confining, the weight of her discoveries pressing on her chest until breathing became difficult. She slipped on a light robe and wandered the halls, the marble floors cool beneath her bare feet. The compound was alive with the low hum of security, guards patrolling, voices murmuring in the distance, but it all felt like a beautiful cage closing in around her. Every corner held a me

Chemical LegacySandro stood in the doorway, eyes sharp as they scanned the room. ā€œYou’ve been quiet since the courtyard. What are you hiding from me now?ā€The air between them thickened with unspoken accusations. Elena met his gaze, the weight of her discoveries pressing down on her like stones. The man she loved was a monster. And she was running out of places to hide the truth.ā€œI can’t do this anymore,ā€ she said, voice trembling but gaining strength. ā€œThe lies. The half-truths. The way you look at me like I’m yours to protect and control at the same time. I found more files, Sandro. Claire’s bloodwork, it’s not just treatment. It’s linked to old Rossi operations. My father’s work. You’ve been using her condition as leverage this whole time, haven’t you? I’m tired of being lied to. I’m tired of being the pawn in your family’s game.ā€Sandro stepped inside, closing the door behind him with a soft click that felt final. His expression shifted, the mask cracking to reveal the exhaustio

Fractured LoyaltyThe Sicilian night pressed against the windows, beautiful and indifferent. But somewhere in the shadows, new players were moving. New knives were being sharpened. And the fragile alliance between Elena and Sandro built on blood, lies, and desperate love, was one revelation away from complete collapse.Elena couldn’t sleep. The image of the intruder’s body crumpling to the ground replayed behind her eyelids every time she closed them. The metallic scent of blood still lingered in her memory, mixing with the lingering ache between her thighs from Sandro’s primal claiming. She slipped out of bed carefully, leaving Sandro’s sleeping form tangled in the sheets, and wandered the moonlit halls of the villa like a ghost haunting its own prison.Luca found her in the east garden, as if he had been waiting for the right moment. He stood near the fountain, the soft trickle of water the only sound breaking the heavy silence. His expression was carefully neutral, but his eyes hel

Blood WitnessSandro’s hand was still on her arm from when he had crossed the courtyard to pull her close after the shot. The body of the intruder lay only yards away, blood slowly pooling on the ancient stones, but Elena could barely look away from Sandro’s face. His eyes were wild with a protective fury that sent a shiver down her spine, not just of fear, but of something darker, more twisted. The man who had held her so tenderly the night before had just killed without hesitation. For her.The horror of it hit her like a physical blow. Her stomach churned, bile rising in her throat as the metallic scent of blood filled the warm Sicilian air. She had seen violence in glimpses before, shadows of Sandro’s world, the aftermath of his punishments, but never like this. Never so close that she could see the light leave a man’s eyes, the way his body jerked once and then went still. This was the real cost of the empire Sandro had built. This was the devil she had married.Yet beneath the

Luca’s GameThe burner phone slipped from Elena’s fingers and clattered onto the floor. The partial message from Juliette glowed accusingly in the dim light: Claire’s DNA markers don’t fully match yours… 98% probability she’s not your full biological sister…Sandro’s hand shot out, snatching the device before Elena could react. His eyes scanned the screen, jaw tightening. For a long, terrible moment, neither of them spoke. The air in the bedroom felt thick enough to choke on, the scent of their earlier passion still lingering, now poisoned by this new revelation.ā€œExplain,ā€ Sandro said, voice dangerously quiet.ā€œI don’t know,ā€ Elena whispered, tears stinging her eyes. The room spun. Claire, her anchor, her reason for everything, suddenly felt like another piece in a puzzle she had never understood. ā€œJuliette was helping me dig. I didn’t expect… this.ā€Sandro’s expression flickered, shock, calculation, something almost like guilt, before hardening into the mask she knew too well. He de

Hate’s FireSandro’s hand paused on her back. The silence stretched too long, too heavy. Elena felt the shift in him the moment his body tensed against hers, the predator sensing prey.ā€œWhat is this?ā€ he asked, voice dangerously low. He reached past her and pulled the burner phone from beneath the cushion. The screen was still warm. The hidden folder with the scanned documents glowed accusingly.Elena’s stomach dropped. She tried to snatch it back, but he held it out of reach, scrolling through the files with growing fury. The Rossi ledgers. Her father’s correspondence. The memo with Sandro’s own handwriting authorizing ā€œpermanent removal.ā€ā€œYou’ve been digging behind my back,ā€ he said, the words slicing through the air like a blade. ā€œAfter everything. After I opened my mother’s letters for you. After I let you take control.
