LOGINAdrian’s POV
I lurked in the shadows, watching her every move. I saw it all, from the moment she walked into the hall with her shoulders slumped and her eyes filled with uncertainty, to the moment Jason proposed to Arnold’s daughter and the hall went crazy with excitement. A girl took her hand and dragged her through the crowd—to see their Alpha and his mate obviously— and I lost sight of her.
Moments later, my ears picked up her voice, it slit through the noise, blurring everyone else out.
“Celia…I can’t breathe.” she winced in agony. Then came the realization that her wolf had finally surfaced. “My wolf…Celia, I have a wolf.” And finally, the part that changed everything. “Jason. I need to tell Jason!”
She went quiet again until she saw them— Arnold’s daughter and Jason.
“You are my…mate, Jason. What are you doing with her?!” Her voice pierced the silence
the moment she called him her mate.
In a fit of rage, she called Jason out—a brave move I must say—screaming and asking why he had waited for her if he was only playing her all along. Long story short, Jason, being the doucheback he was, severed the bond without blinking—Twenty-five years of love and friendship, gone.
I clenched my fist, unable to stand Jason having yet another thing he didn’t deserve. But my fury vanished almost immediately, replaced by a sly smile as I stood up. Before I could get to her, the crowd had already encircled her, hurling demeaning insults.
I threw off the hat that aided my disguise. They recognized me instantly, and a wave of fear spread across the room.I didn’t spare any of them, I just walked toward her— the one I had come for. The crowd moved out of the way without being told, revealing her collapsed on the floor.
As I got closer, my chest constricted as if something was forcefully tugging at my heart. Even though the pain was intense, I didn't stop. I kept walking until I heard my wolf call her my mate in my mind.
The Moon Goddess was indeed bored. That was the only logical reason I could find for such a sudden miscalculation. How could she and I be mates? First, it was Jason, and barely ten minutes later, I was Vivica’s second-chance mate?
When I got to Vivica, she froze. Her body language told me she felt it too.She crawled back, creating as much space as possible between us.I dropped to one knee in front of her.
“You feel it too, don’t you?”
After a moment of hesitation she looked at me and nodded.I offered her my hand. “Then come with me. Let’s get you out of this hellhole.”

“That woman isn’t just some lowly intruder like you all think,”Arella blurted, taking a sharp breath before continuing. “She is Vivica Hale, daughter of Xavier Hales—the traitor from two decades ago.”
My eyes narrowed in absolute horror. The elders slowly turned to me, their expressions screaming for answers. But I was too concerned about Vivica, who was trembling violently beside me, to care.In a swift motion, bolted out of the room.
I followed suit.
“Dane, you don’t…” Arella tried to stop me, but a hard glare was all it took to shut her up.I sprinted after Vivica, catching up to her in the archway.
“Where are you going?” I grabbed her hand.
“Anywhere but here!” she yelled.
“Vivica, look at me.”
“There’s nothing you can say to make me change my mind” she spat. She was already crying on her first day in my territory.
“Forget everything Arella said in there. It doesn’t change anything,” I assured her. “And about your father,I’m sure he didn’t betray your pack.”
She whirled to face me the moment I said that.
“What did you just say?” For the first time, her red-rimmed eyes peered into mine with flinching.
“I believe your father is innocent. We just need to find the actual culprit and vindicate him.”
“Is that possible? I mean… I know it is, but I’ve been digging for years without any luck.” she explained with a sudden burst of enthusiasm.
Something about the way her eyes twinkled with hope made my chest tighten. I felt a strong urge to cup her face and kiss her senseless, but I’d be ruining my plans. I couldn’t love her, I shouldn’t love her. Everything must be strictly business if I must reach my goal.
“That’s because you’ve been digging in the wrong places,” I sighed, taking a step forward. “From now on, I’ll do the digging.Your father will be vindicated, and you’ll have no reason to ever run again.”
Her eyes pooled with tears. She pressed her lips together to keep from crying. I cupped her face in my palms. “You are safe here. Stop trying to run away.”
She nodded, a streak of tears streaming down her cheeks.
“We have collectively decided not to accept this…this traitor as one of us,” One of the elders interrupted.I turned to find them standing at the door.
“Theo.”
“Yes, Your Highness?”
“Get the necessary documents ready. Vivica will be ascending the throne in two weeks.”
Vivica’s POVThe night sky was studded with stars, their glow spilling over everything beneath them. Adrian was standing in the yard with his hands in his pockets, with his back to the entrance. I approached him quietly, but he turned before I could even reach him. “Hey,” he whispered when he saw me. “Hey,” I responded.“About this morning,” he began, taking a step towards me. “I—”I instinctively stepped back. He cut himself off mid-sentence, and we both halted in our tracks. “Is there any progress with my late father’s case?” I asked, my gaze fixed on the ground near his boots. “Not yet.” he stated, his voice low as he explained further. “The investigator is still unraveling the events surrounding his…death.”“Okay.” I whispered softly. I changed the subject quickly to avoid the details; I was due to start at the care home tomorrow, and the last thing I wanted was to spend the night cryi
“I wonder if you know what you’re perfect Luna has been up to, lately.” Arella demanded as Vivica took a step forward, tutoring her whole frame to watch her body lock up. “Adrian… I…” Vivica started, scrambling for words, but nothing came out. Arella watched Vivica stutter with predatory keenness. Vivica lowered her head, praying she could just vanish. She has barely even started and she was already busted. “I’m so sorry, Adrian,” Vivica looked up, the confusion in Adrian’s eyes, which were bound to switch to that of disappointment after telling what she had been up to gnawed at her conscience. “I..”“How could you be so selfish, Vivica?” Arella spat viciously, eyes blazing with rage. Vivica’s head snapped from Arella to Adrian’s as she desperately struggled to understand. “It wasn’t enough that you took my mother’s Favour it’s maid from her, now you want to take her replacement too?” Vivica fidgeted
Adrian halted the car in front of the pack mansion and let out a sigh of relief, then rested his head against the seat to cool for a few seconds. From the corner of his eye he saw someone approaching through the tinted car window. It was his mate’s best friend—Celia. Celia walked to the car brusquely, her fingers, which she folded into a fist were already reaching for the car window even before she got to him. He watched with absolute awe as knocked aggressively on the window. His eyebrows arched quizzically. Was something wrong with Vivica? Even before Adrian rolled the tinted window down, she had already started talking, and it had nothing to do with his mate. “Did you not see me waving at you to stop or were you just…pretending ?” He voice fired slowly when she saw me in the driver’s seat. she began talking even before I rolled the tinted window down. When she saw his face, she froze, closing her mouth slowly and seali
Vivica’s POV“I can’t believe you hired her!” Celia fumed, trailing after me as I made my way to the bedroom. “How can you employ someone who isn’t afraid to blackmail you despite knowing you are the Luna.”“That part!” I halted, almost bumping into Celia as I turned to face her. “Her fearlessness is the sole reason why I hired her.”Celia blinked repeatedly, realization hitting her. “Don’t tell me you want her to work with you at the care home?”“That’s exactly my plan,” I smiled grimly. “Oh my god,” Celia gasped. She rushed to the vanity table and plopped into the chair, clutching her temples in bewilderment. “I can’t believe you, Viv!”“What?!” I flared up. “You won’t help me and you don’t want someone else to?”“Nooo” she stressed on the word. “I’m just worried you might be getting yourself in trouble. You don’t carry just anyone along when embarking on feats like this.”My eyes darted around. “You are righ
Vivica’s POVAs soon as I left the council room, I scurried down the hallway, fighting the naeusasting urging up to throw up right there and then. Simone’s charred face and Adrian’s fingers coated in his blood made my skin crawl. The short walk to the elevator felt like eternity. I finally got to the elevator. Just when I was about to reach for the buttons a hand grip me from behind. I jumped around to find a maid staring, her eyes were calm and hollow, nothing like the haughty look most of them had here.“What are you doing?” I said, my voice low, but it conveyed every bit of my fear and confusion.“I didn’t mean to startle you, Luna. I just wanted to talk,” she bowed her head when she was done talking.“You could have called my name, made a sound to notify me you were right behind me,” I expressed with immense frustration.“I wasn’t sure it was you.” She began to explain and the elevator dinged, revealing Melissa. “You wer
Vivica’s POVI walked beside Adrian with practiced precision as he led us to the council room—being Luna was demanding, but Adrian did everything in his power to make it seem like something you didn’t need to put in effort at all. Well, how was he supposed to know when he hadn’t been one himself. Last night alone, I had to walk on a straight line Celia created with a black tape just to make sure I didn’t look like a claim next to Adrian this morning. She said there was nothing wrong with how I walk normally, but it needed a little bit of work to make me stand out anywhere I went. Now that the pack members were looking intently at me as we walked down the hallway leading to the council room I didn’t even know what to think? Has I committed another grave offense or was the majestic walk too chic to ignore? The moment we got to the entrance Adrian reached for my hand and twirled his fingers in mine. The door opened and we marched inside. All heads

Rebecca's POV"I will cut out your tongue if you reject me!" Leon roared in my face.I took a step back, heart hammering as I stared at him. Who was this monster?“You think you can just walk away from me, Rebecca?” He advanced, swallowing the space between us in a heartbeat. His hand clamped aroun

Vivica’s POV“That stupid bitch,” I cursed under my breath while taking the wet clothes off.I changed into something else and dried my hair before heading back to the living room. Melissa was standing in the middle like she was the one who drenched me with water.“What is happening in the pack? W
