Alpha’s Regret: His Rejected Plus-size Luna

‘Do you think he will believe us? He says we do not awaken his erection, so how sure are we that he would take responsibility for the pup?’ my wolf said to me as I climbed the stairs back to my bedroom. ‘I'm scared, Sonya. I don't want our mate to reject the pregnancy.’

Truthfully, I was scared, even though the thought of my pup lying in there brightened my mood all the time. Recalling that after two years of marriage with Alpha Seth, I had finally conceived was one of the best things to ever happen to me. He refused to ever touch me, never looked at me like his Luna and mate. 

We have stayed in separate rooms since our marriage. He ordered me to never show up before him unless he wanted me, and that we aren't making pups since he wasn't ready to be a dad. 

The latter was the reason I hadn't gotten the right way to tell him that I was bearing his pup. Would he believe me? Since that reckless night with him during the Winter Blood Moon Banquet, he hadn't spoken about it, and it was that night which resulted in this.

I had left before he woke up, so he wouldn't scold and embarrass me for coming to the banquet only to get claimed by him when he was drunk. Since he never brushed shoulders past me, I thought that he would accuse me of drugging him so we would make out, when he was the one who texted me to come over after leaving without me. So if I were to mention to him about that night, he wouldn't believe me and would blame me for the outcome.

‘This isn't looking well, Sonya.’ 

I shut my eyes for some time and opened them once again. I input the passcode to my room, and the door opened. 

“Luna…!” came a feminine voice from behind me. “There's a visitor in the palace right now. She mentioned wanting to see either you or the alpha king.”

I pressed my lips together, knitted my brows, and still nodded to the servant. 

What pack member wants to see the alpha king or me? I was a plus-size omega whom they called unworthy to rule them. In this pack, the Somberhide pack, the chubby ladies get trolled and are forced to slim down if they want to mingle with the others. When my parents were alive, they refused to let me do that and insisted I must love my body as it was. 

So when I happened to be mated to Alpha Seth during his coronation, I prayed the ground would just open and swallow me, because I thought he would reject me. It was at that time that I got to know that fated mates do not reject each other in the pack, so he had no choice but to still choose me.

It didn't stop the pack from trolling me for being chubby, and that I wouldn't function well as their Luna. Now, who could it be wanting to see me?

I entered my room, walked to the mirror and stared at my reflection for some time. I had done the test by myself twice last night and it came out positive. This morning, I redid it again and it gave the same result. I had just gone down and trashed the whole strip, and might visit the hospital to confirm first before telling Alpha Seth. Not because I doubted so much that the strip might have given a wrong result, but because I needed to provide a professional result to him so he doesn't doubt it. 

Quickly, I undressed and put on something simpler, then I went down to the visitors' room to see who it was. Seriously, I expected to see a pack council who must have come with a query…not a lady, the one I had seen her photo two days after I got married to Seth. 

She crossed her legs together, and a sinister smile appeared at the corner of her lips the moment I stepped into the room. “Luna? Oh, it slipped my mind you are one.” She scoffed and stood up, bowed slightly, but with scorn. 

I swallowed the lump that formed in my throat. I didn't know who she was because I couldn't ask Seth when I saw her photo. But I just guessed she was a distant family, not knowing I was being fooled by my own thoughts. 

“Uhm, I really wasn't expecting a chubby and unkept Luna attending to me, so I will patiently wait for the alpha king,” she uttered and sat back down. 

My gaze landed on the two boxes, big and small, at her side. Was she going to start living here? No one would come with such boxes if they only came to visit. 

No room for dragging. I didn't even have the might to. So I stood up and made use of the door while she watched me, smiling sheepishly. I had gotten used to all those, so it was nothing. Even my alpha mate does the same to me, no matter how hard I worked for him to see me for once.

I went back to my bedroom, brought out the pregnancy test result once again and began running my fingers over it. “Ten weeks pregnant. Two months and two weeks.” I took a deep gulp, sat up and raised my blouse. I walked to the mirror to see how my belly was already forming the baby bump, and a smile plastered across my face.

“Seth would welcome us; he would be so happy that we would now have a pup. At least, he will begin noticing me after two years.” I told myself as a comfort, because I knew men who began loving their wives after she carried their pup. Seth wouldn't be different. 

I stood there for minutes before deciding to go down to my office since there were about three hours left before sunset. I had always done well as the pack's Luna, trying my best to see that even the councils stood by me since I was doing my job well, but to no avail.

My mate was ashamed to even mention me as his luna. He refuses to go out with me and complains that nothing fits me well. 

I grabbed my cell phone and exited the room again. I made use of the elevator this time because I didn't want to overstress, as the doctor had said to me. Upon getting down from the elevator, the scent of cedar hit my nostrils.

‘Mate!’ my wolf groaned.

I sniffed in his scent as I'd always done, since that was the least I could get from him. 

“He should be with the lady who came for him. We should ask if she's a family member.” I muttered, referring to my wolf too, while I fastened my footsteps towards the visitors' room. 

I was about to hold the doorknob when I heard the soft voice of the lady…

“Didn't you hear me? You think I'm joking right now? I'm bearing your pup, Seth, and that's a result of two adults making out,” she said, her voice so demure one might not hear if not concentrated. “So, what's the way forward? I can't keep staying with my family as it is right now, that's why I came with my luggage. You should provide me with a room, and please make me comfortable.”

My fingers curled into my palms. I felt my heart ripped out of my chest that moment.

That couldn't be true. I must have started hearing things.

Seth didn't love me; I know so well. But he never looked like he'd been cheating on me, talk about having a pup with someone else. He told me himself that he wasn't ready to be a dad, so all I heard was just wrong. I bet my mind was trying to portray a bad side about him, so I gave up.

I stepped back a bit, my chest rising and falling beyond my control. 

‘Sonya, it's not true, right? He didn't hurt our feelings this way either.’ My wolf was already yelping in my head, slowly getting back into my mind so she would be silent once again.

No! Seth couldn't do this to me. He couldn't be an infidel, something I'd always detested all through my life.

“Yeah, I recall that morning I woke up beside you, we were both completely nude. But who could have thought it would result in this? I am married, Neve.” Seth stated, his voice firm.

He was married? Was he really married and he spent a night with another woman? 

“To whom? That obese thing who came in here? We should be very happy right now that you're about to have a pup. What about announcing this to your parents and we celebrate it? They must have waited to get such a news of them being grandparents.” she responded, and everywhere became so quiet like a graveyard. .

I couldn't stand it and made my way back to the elevator instantly. My chest was about to burst, and I felt the hot liquid rolling down my cheeks.
