LEXI'S POV

I stormed into our house, slamming the door behind me. Ryan was sitting on the couch, watching TV. He looked up at me with a mixture of surprise and guilt.

"Lexi, what's wrong?" he asked, trying to sound innocent.

I laughed, a bitter taste in my mouth. "Don't play dumb with me, Ryan," I said, my voice shaking with anger. "I know all about you and Sophia."

Ryan's expression changed, and for a moment, I saw a flash of fear in his eyes. But then, his face smoothed out, and he smiled.

"I don't know what you're talking about," he said, trying to sound convincing.

I felt a surge of anger at his denial. "Don't lie to me, Ryan," I said, my voice cold and hard. "I have proof. I know all about your affair with Sophia."

Ryan's smile faltered, and he looked away, unable to meet my eyes. "It's not what you think," he said, his voice barely above a whisper.

I laughed again, feeling a sense of despair wash over me. "It's exactly what I think," I said. "You're cheating on me, Ryan. You're throwing away our marriage for some cheap thrill with a woman who doesn't even care about you."

Ryan looked up at me, his eyes filled with a mixture of guilt and defiance. "You don't understand, Lexi," he said. "Sophia is different. She's the one I'm meant to be with."

I felt like I had been punched in the gut. Ryan's words were like a knife twisting in my heart. I couldn't believe what I was hearing.

"You're meant to be with her?" I repeated, my voice shaking with anger. "What about me, Ryan? What about our marriage and our vows to each other?"

Ryan shrugged, his expression unrepentant. "I'm sorry, Lexi," he said. "But I never meant to hurt you. I just couldn't help how I feel."

I felt a wave of tears wash over me, but I refused to cry. I was angry, and I was hurt, but I was not going to let Ryan see me break down.

"You're sorry?" I repeated, my voice cold and hard. "You're sorry? That's not enough, Ryan. That's not nearly enough."

I turned and walked away, leaving Ryan and his excuses behind. I didn't know what the future held, but I knew one thing for sure: I was done with Ryan and his lies.

I walked out of the house, slamming the door behind me. I didn't know where I was going, but I knew I had to get out of there. I couldn't bear to look at Ryan's face anymore, to see the guilt and defiance in his eyes.

As I walked, I felt a sense of numbness wash over me. I was in shock, I think. I couldn't believe what was happening. My marriage, my life, was falling apart, and I didn't know how to stop it.

I walked for what felt like hours, my feet carrying me on autopilot. I didn't notice where I was going until I saw the familiar sight of Ethan's office building in front of me.

I felt a surge of relief wash over me. Ethan. I could talk to Ethan. He would know what to do.

I walked into the building and took the elevator to Ethan's office. His assistant looked up at me in surprise, but I just shook my head and walked past her.

Ethan looked up from his desk, a look of concern on his face. "Lexi, what's wrong?" he asked, standing up and walking around his desk.

I felt a lump form in my throat as I looked at him. I didn't know how to explain what was happening. I didn't know how to put into words the pain and betrayal I was feeling.

But Ethan just looked at me, his eyes filled with compassion and understanding. And I knew that I didn't have to explain. He already knew.

"Ryan," I said, my voice barely above a whisper. "He's...he's cheating on me."

Ethan's expression changed, and for a moment, I saw a flash of anger in his eyes. But then, his face smoothed out, and he nodded.

"I'm so sorry, Lexi," he said, his voice low and gentle. "I'm here for you. Whatever you need, I'm here."

I felt a surge of gratitude wash over me. Ethan. He was here for me. He would help me get through this.

And as I looked at him, I felt something else too. Something that I couldn't quite explain. A sense of connection, maybe. A sense of trust.

I didn't know what the future held, but I knew one thing for sure: I was not alone. Ethan was here, and he would help me through this.

I got ready for my dinner date with Ethan, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness. We had been growing closer over the past few weeks, and I couldn't help but wonder what the future held for us. I put on a red dress that accentuated my curves, and paired it with some heels and a statement necklace. I felt confident and beautiful as I looked in the mirror. Ethan arrived promptly at 7 pm, looking dashing in a black suit and tie. He smiled when he saw me, and his eyes crinkled at the corners. "You look stunning, Lexi," he said, his voice low and husky. I blushed, feeling a sense of pleasure at his compliment. "Thank you, Ethan," I replied. "You look pretty great yourself." Ethan smiled and offered me his arm. "Shall we?" he asked. I took his arm, feeling a sense of excitement and anticipation. We walked out of my apartment and into the night, ready to face whatever lay ahead. We went to a fancy restaurant in the city, where we were treated to a exquisite meal and fine wine. E

I walked into Ethan's office, feeling a sense of excitement and nervousness. We had been spending more and more time together, and I couldn't help but feel drawn to him. Ethan looked up from his desk, a smile spreading across his face. "Hey, Lexi," he said, his voice low and husky. I smiled back, feeling a sense of warmth and connection. "Hey, Ethan," I replied. Ethan gestured to a chair in front of his desk. "Please, sit down," he said. I sat down, feeling a sense of curiosity. Ethan had been mysterious about his past, and I couldn't help but wonder what had shaped him into the man he was today. Ethan leaned back in his chair, a faraway look in his eyes. "I grew up in a difficult home environment," he said, his voice low and introspective. "My parents were always fighting, and I often felt like I was caught in the middle." I listened intently, feeling a sense of empathy and understanding. I knew what it was like to feel trapped and helpless. Ethan's eyes locked onto mine, and
