POV: LUCIAN

The door clicked shut behind her, and I stood frozen right there in the middle of my room like some idiot who had forgotten how to move.

Her scent still filled the air. Warm and complex, wrapping around me in a way that made my wolf sit up and snarl for more. I did not breathe for a long second. My jaw locked tight. My hands curled into fists so hard the knuckles ached.

Seven fucking years. Seven years since anything hit me this hard.

she smelt.. not like Lysandra. Not exactly the same. But close enough to tear open every scar I had stitched shut with pure rage and stubborn will.

I could still picture Nyx standing there in that scrap of ivory lingerie. Shoulders back, chin up, refusing to shrink even an inch. Those full curves and breasts on full display, skin flushed hot, eyes locked on mine with fear flickering behind the cold wall she tried to hide behind. She looked ready to fight the whole damn world rather than apologize for existing.

My wolf lunged hard toward the door. Wanting to track her scent down the hall. Wanting her. The pull felt sharp and specific, nothing like the cold plan I had laid out. I slammed it back down with every bit of Alpha control I had forged since I was seventeen.

"Enough," I growled under my breath.

The word came out rough. More animal than man. I hated the sound of it.

I crossed the room and dropped into the chair at my desk. Her file waited there. Thin black folder with her name printed neat on the tab.

Nyx.

I flipped it open. Stared at the first page without really seeing the words.

She smelled like courage wrapped tight around terror. The exact way Lysandra used to mask her fear behind steel and quiet strength. Same tilt of the chin. Same refusal to break even when everything around her was already shattered.

And my body had cataloged every damn detail before my brain could stop it. The way that lingerie clung to her. The soft rise of her breasts with every careful breath. The small cut on her lower lip that made something dark and hungry twist low in my gut.

I slammed the file shut.

She killed the woman you loved.

The thought sliced through me clean and cold. The same reminder I had repeated like a prayer every single day for seven years.

I opened the file again. My eyes landed on the drawing of her clipped inside. Sharp features. Dark wavy hair. Eyes staring straight like she dared whoever took it to try her.

My wolf whined low in my chest and pushed again. Harder this time.

I shoved it back down with everything I had. The same iron control that had kept me breathing when grief tried to swallow me whole.

I could still feel the heat of her body from when I had pulled her close earlier. She had not flinched away. Not really. She just met my stare like she would burn right along with me if that was what it took.

I hated how badly I wanted to test that fire.

"She's here for one reason," I said out loud. My voice came out flat and precise. The voice I used when I needed to remind myself who the fuck I was. "She killed Lysandra. Everything else is noise. She suffers. Then she ends."

The words tasted like ash in my mouth.

My wolf did not give a damn about my rules. It wanted her scent again. Wanted to follow it down the hall. Wanted to know exactly how that warmth would feel pressed tight against my chest.

I shoved up from the chair fast. The legs scraped loud against the floor.

I paced across the room once. Stopped and paced back.

That image of her in the lingerie flashed again. Uninvited. The defiant set of her mouth. The way her body curved under that thin fabric. The slight cut on her lip that made me want lean down and kiss it.

I stopped at the desk. Snapped the file closed.

Opened it again.

Closed it.

"Fuck."

I walked over to the tall window and stared out into the night. The estate grounds lay dark and quiet below. Moonlight cut silver across the trees. Somewhere out there she was walking back to whatever room they had put her in.

I kept staring into the black.

Her name sat heavy on my tongue. Unwanted and dangerous.

I said it anyway. Quiet. Just once.

"Nyx."

It settled in my mouth like it belonged there. Like it had been waiting years to be spoken out loud.

Rage flooded through me hot and fast.

I was already losing the war I had declared the second she stepped foot in my territory. And I had not even started the real fight yet.

I closed the file one last time. The sharp click echoed in the silent room.

But my eyes stayed fixed on the window. On the dark. On the path she had taken.

And the wolf inside me kept pushing. Kept pulling. Kept whispering that this broken bride might just ruin me in ways I had never planned for.

  • BOUND BY REVENGE: The Alpha King's broken bride    Chapter 81: The Reckoning

Edric POV I sat in the center of the great hall with my hands bound in front of me. The stone bench felt cold beneath my legs. Pack elders lined on both sides of the long table, their faces set like carved masks. Guards stood at every exit. The air smelled of old wood and tension. I kept my back straight as I would not give them the satisfaction of seeing me break.I heard the doors open at the far end. Nyx walked in with her snotty Alpha behind her. She wore dark green again, the same shade she had worn the night before. Her chin was lifted and her steps were steady. When her eyes met mine across the room, something hot and ugly twisted in my chest.*I could have killed her when I had the chance.*The thought burned through me. One clean strike years ago and none of this would be happening but instead I had kept her alive. I had used her and sold her. Now she stood here as Luna of Ironfang, looking at me like I was already dead.Kane rose from his seat at the center of the table. Hi

  • BOUND BY REVENGE: The Alpha King's broken bride    Chapter 80: He thought he built me

Nyx POV I woke up the next morning with a clear purpose. The dungeon waited below the estate, and the conversation I needed to have belonged only to me. I told Lucian over breakfast that I had to do this alone. He looked at me for a long moment, his eyes searching my face. “I will be outside,” he said quietly.“No,” I replied. I held his gaze without blinking. He studied me again, then nodded once. He stayed upstairs. This moment was mine.I walked down the stone steps alone. The air grew colder with each level. Torches flickered along the walls, casting long shadows that danced across the floor. My footsteps echoed softly. When I reached Edric’s cell, I stopped just outside the bars.He sat on the bench, his back against the stone wall. He looked up at the sound of my approach. Something moved across his face. Not fear. Not yet. It was the same calculating expression he had worn every time I entered a room in his house. He was deciding what I was worth at that moment. An old habit w

  • BOUND BY REVENGE: The Alpha King's broken bride    Chapter 79: The Unraveling

NYX’S POVThe air in the dining hall had grown thick. Every word spoken at the table carried weight now. I sat beside Lucian, my back straight, my hands folded calmly in my lap. The Calloways still wore their polished masks, but cracks had started to show. Edric’s smile no longer reached his eyes. Isolde kept glancing toward the doors as if measuring escape routes. Ren shifted in his seat, loud confidence fading into nervous energy.Lucian rose slowly. The movement drew every eye in the room. He signaled to two guards who had waited silently near the entrance. They stepped forward carrying a wooden box. Lucian opened it with deliberate care and lifted out the first document. The healer’s report. He held it up so the pack elders seated at the ends of the table could see it clearly. “This is the medical record from the night my former mate Lysandra died,” he said. His voice stayed even, but the room grew quieter with each word. “It describes a young woman matching Nyx’s description. Ext

  • BOUND BY REVENGE: The Alpha King's broken bride    Chapter 78: Dinner of Death

NYX’s POV I stood in front of the tall mirror in my room and smoothed the fabric of my gown one last time. The color suited the occasion. Dark enough to hide secrets, rich enough to remind everyone I now belonged here. My hands stayed steady, but my stomach twisted with a mix of anticipation and old rage. Tonight the Calloways would walk into this estate believing they still held power over me. I intended.. to prove them wrong.Lucian waited for me in the corridor. The moment I stepped out, his gaze moved over me slowly. “You look breathtaking, little Storm.”I managed a small smile. “Thank you.”He offered his arm. “They are coming. Are you ready for this?”I took a deep breath and slipped my hand through his arm. “Yes. There is nothing I want more.”“Wonderful.”Thorne and Elara joined us near the entrance. Thorne looked every inch the beta, sharp and watchful. Elara carried herself with quiet strength, though I caught the tension in her shoulders. We formed a united front as we wa

  • BOUND BY REVENGE: The Alpha King's broken bride    Chapter 77: Awakening the White Wolf

Nyx's POV I met Elara in the quiet chamber deep within the restricted wing. The air felt heavier here, thick with old magic and the faint scent of dried herbs. Elara had arranged everything with care. “I am ready,” I said.Elara nodded. “Then we begin. Remember, do not force it. Let Mara come to you.”I closed my eyes and breathed slowly. At first there was only darkness behind my eyelids. Then something stirred. A warmth spread through my chest, slow at first, then stronger. Mara had been pushing against the old corruption for weeks. Today the wolf felt different. Closer and more alive. The shift happened without warning. One moment I stood in the chamber. Next, I was somewhere else entirely. A vast, silver-lit plain stretched out under a full moon. The grass beneath my feet felt cool and real. In the distance, a beautiful white wolf stood watching me. Pure white fur caught the moonlight like fresh snow. Golden eyes held steady, ancient and patient.Tears filled my eyes before I co

  • BOUND BY REVENGE: The Alpha King's broken bride    Chapter 76: Thorne Recovers

Elara’s Pov (Limited third)Elara watched the healer pack his supplies with a quiet kind of relief that made her shoulders drop for the first time in five days. Thorne sat on the edge of the infirmary bed, shirt half open, scowling at the bandage wrapped around his shoulder. He could move his arm now, but not without a visible wince when he tried to lift it higher than his chest. The irritation on his face was familiar. Thorne had always been the one who moved through the world like nothing could slow him down so being stuck like this clearly offended him on a personal level."You are healing well," the healer said, closing his bag. "The poison is out of your system but rest is still important. No heavy lifting. No fighting for at least another week."Thorne grunted. "I will take it under consideration."Elara almost smiled. That was as close to agreement as he would get.The healer gave her a small nod before leaving the room. Once the door closed, Elara stepped closer and helped Tho
