LOGINChapter Two
Harper
My hands shook so violently I dropped the zipper of my suitcase.
I stared at my blurred reflection in the mirror. Tears streamed down my cheeks, hot and bitter. Three years. I had given Alpha Elec Gerald my absolute soul, and he discarded me like garbage on the side of the road. "Hurry up, weakling."The pack guard leaned against my bedroom door frame. He crossed his massive arms. "The Alpha wants you gone before midnight. You are staining the carpet." "I am moving as fast as I can,"I choked out. I threw my remaining sweaters into the bag and zipped it shut. My chest physically ached. Every breath felt like swallowing shattered glass. My pup. I placed a trembling hand over my stomach. My little pup was never going to know its father. I dragged my heavy suitcase down the grand staircase. The pack house was usually quiet at this hour. Not tonight. Tonight, it sounded like a festival. "She is here. She is finally here."A maid rushed past me on the stairs, completely ignoring my presence. I froze on the bottom step. The massive oak front doors were wide open. There she was. Vespa. She looked like a runway model. Long blonde hair, flawless skin, and a smug, wicked smile painted on her blood-red lips. She stepped into the foyer, and the entire room erupted in cheers. "My beautiful girl,"Luna Adora cried out. She stepped forward and wrapped her arms tightly around Vespa. "Welcome home." "It is so good to be back, Luna,"Vespa laughed softly. Then, Elec stepped forward. My breath hitched in my throat. The cold, ruthless monster who had just threatened my life was completely gone. In his place stood a man looking at his true mate with absolute adoration. He reached out and tucked a blonde strand of hair behind her ear. "You took your time,"Elec murmured. His voice was thick with an emotion he had never, ever shown me. "I am here now, Alpha,"Vespa purred. She leaned up and kissed his jaw intimately. I felt violently sick. I gripped the handle of my suitcase and tried to slip out the side door. I just wanted to leave quietly. I wanted to protect the tiny life growing inside me. "Well, well. Look what the cat dragged out." Vespa's voice cut through the room like a sharp whip. The laughter stopped instantly. Every single pair of eyes in the room turned to glare at me. I kept my head down. "Excuse me. I am leaving." "Not so fast,"Vespa sneered. She walked toward me. Her designer heels clicked loudly against the expensive marble floor. She stopped inches from my face. The scent of her strong perfume made my stomach churn. "Look at you,"Vespa laughed cruelly, looking me up and down. "You look absolutely pathetic. Did you honestly believe he would keep a weak, useless wolf like you around forever?" "Vespa, let her go,"Elec said from behind her. His tone was incredibly bored. "She is not worth your breath." "Oh, I know she is not,"Vespa smiled, her eyes flashing with pure malice. She leaned in closer to my ear. "I just wanted to see the look on her face when I told her my good news." I swallowed hard, trying to hold back my tears. "I do not care about your news." "You will care about this,"Vespa whispered viciously. "I am pregnant, Harper. I am carrying Elec's pup. His true heir." The entire room started spinning. Pregnant. She was pregnant. "A pup?"Luna Adora gasped in absolute delight, clapping her hands. "Oh, Goddess be praised." Elec walked over and wrapped his strong, tattooed arms around Vespa's waist from behind. He rested his large hands gently on her flat stomach. He kissed her neck. He did not even look at me. He looked completely thrilled. I felt my knees buckle. He had been sleeping with her. He had been cheating on me while pretending to be a loving husband. And now, my baby was going to be replaced before it was even born. "Get her out of my house,"Elec commanded the guards. "Now." Two massive enforcers grabbed my arms roughly. They dragged me toward the front doors. I did not fight them. I had no strength left to fight. They threw me out onto the cold, damp pavement and slammed the heavy oak doors shut. The loud click of the lock echoed in the dark night. I was completely alone. The freezing wind pierced right through my thin jacket. I grabbed my suitcase and started walking down the empty street. I did not know where to go. I had no family left. I had no pack. The streetlights flickered above me. My vision started to blur again, but this time it was not from the tears. A sharp pain shot through my head. My chest tightened painfully. The world tilted sideways. "No,"I whispered, clutching my stomach. "Please, not my baby." My suitcase slipped from my frozen fingers. The pavement rushed up to meet me. Everything went totally black. I gasped for air. My eyes shot open. I expected to see the dark, wet street. Instead, I saw a massive crystal chandelier hanging from a towering ceiling. I was lying in the softest bed I had ever felt. The sheets were pure silk. The air in the room was warm and thick with the most intoxicating scent I had ever encountered. Pine needles, dark amber, and raw, terrifying power. An Alpha's scent. I sat up slowly. My head was pounding. Where was I? I looked at the far wall. A massive oil painting hung above a roaring fireplace. It was a crest. A silver wolf howling at a blood-red moon. My heart stopped beating. I recognized that crest. Every single wolf in Europe recognized that crest. The Nightfall Pack. The heavy mahogany door to the bedroom clicked open. I pulled the silk sheets up to my chin, my heart hammering wildly against my ribs. A man walked in. He was devastatingly handsome, with jet-black hair and eyes the color of liquid gold. He wore a dark, tailored suit that screamed absolute danger and unimaginable wealth. He did not look like a normal Alpha. He looked like a god. Alpha Pedro. The most ruthless, wealthy, and feared Alpha in the entire world. The only man Elec was actually terrified of. "You are finally awake, little wolf,"he said. His voice was a deep, velvet rumble that made my toes curl. I pushed myself back against the headboard, trembling. "How did I get here? Who are you?" "I think you know exactly who I am, Harper."He walked toward the bed. His golden eyes locked onto mine, completely trapping me in his intense gaze. He moved with a smooth, predatory grace. He stopped right beside the mattress. He leaned down. His handsome face was mere inches from mine. His intoxicating scent completely surrounded me, making my heart race out of control. He raised a large, warm hand and gently brushed a stray tear from my cheek. His touch sent a burning shockwave straight to my core. "Elec made a very fatal mistake tonight,"Pedro whispered, his gaze dropping slowly to my lips. "He threw away my mate.Chapter 25Pedro’s POV I didn’t move my eyes away from Harper for one second. Her body seemed to have stabilized since the medical crews left. I watched the slow rise and fall of her breathing. The lady who had warned me about how they couldn’t bring all the instruments was the only one left in the room with me. I learned her name to be Maria. She seemed to genuinely like my mate, Harper. “How much trouble do you think Harper is in? Do you think she will be alright?” The words fell out of my mouth before I could stop it. I didn’t know why I was asking her in particular. I didn’t know her, but somehow , I was hungry for some reassurance. From anyone. I was going insane. Maria walked up to the bed, her eyes looking down at Harper with discrete fondness. “To tell you the truth, this is normal. This shouldn’t be dangerous as it is normal in a pregnant shewolves case. But for Harper, there seems to be something more to it. I can’t really pinpoint it…but her symptoms seems kinda weird
Chapter 24Pedro’s POV “Touch her and die!” I growled as one of the nurses tried to touch Harper. Her burning was burning, her skin turning red and purple at the same time. It was a full gruesome sight to see. The first time I felt fear was when I broke one of my legs in a trap meant for a wild bear. The tears had burned through my eyes, and I thought I would die. I had never felt fear like that. My childhood boys shivered with deep tremors, I watched my mother clam her hands together and prayed to the goddess for the first time. But not even that could compare to what I felt now. I couldn’t lose my mate. Not now. Those words kept ringing through my head like a mantra. I tore her dress off her body and I felt my wolf claw at me with madness in his veins. I froze momentarily seee her naked for the first time. Her creamy skin was painted with bruises that I had never seen before. Some black. Some purple and swollen. My hand checked to a fist but I fight whatever that was boiling i
Chapter 23Harper“Why are you out here? You know it’s not really safe,” Pedro said after a few second of silence, his voice hoarse and breathy they sent sparks all over me. I clamped my thighs shut. “I just wanted a change of scenario,” I said looking away to him. “ I don’t know what it’s like to feel free anymore. It’s like I’m in a prison.”Pedro’s eyes lingered on me and it made me overly conscious of myself. “And I was feeling specially happy today. I don’t know why…but today seems different.”“Is that so?” He asked before grabbing my hand and pulling me to walk with him. Sparks shot up my arms, his rough callous palm angulfing my smaller ones. For a moment, I couldn’t think. My mind went into a deep haze and I found myself leaving more into his warmth. I didn’t want to hope that something would happen between us. He had made it clear what I was to him. But I couldn’t stop the pull between us. Right now, the bond intensified with sine sort of electric current. “Memphis told m
Chapter 22Harper’s pov I was a mess!Well… the embroidery to be exact. I didn’t know exactly what I was doing wrong, but the fabric that sat across my lap looked like something I had embroidered blindly. For the past two weeks, I have spent my time learning new things. First it was art. I had taken a liking to still life drawings and tried to paint a few objects, but it all just ended up a disaster. I had tried several other hobbies but it never went well. Until sewing. Embroidering the design on the cloth wasn’t too hard until I could tell if the design was a flower or a rabbit. The book of embroidery designs sat in front of me, and I stared at it with a frown on my face. I didn’t like how my life was going. I was bored to death. But I didn’t dare to complain. Seraphina hadn’t cornered me since that day, and somehow that felt like something to be grateful for. A few minutes later, my food was placed in front of me, and the aroma of the delicious creamy pasta immediately waft
Chapter 21Pedro’s povI had traced my mothers family trees and only recently Todd I found out that she wasn’t what she posed to be. If I were to be more frank with my words, she was a fraud. Seraphina's father, my grandfather, had mated with an omega. To the world, Seraphina was the daughter of two great betas, a pure blood who was fit fur a king and alpha. But that was all a lie they conjures up to climb up the rank without being questioned by the higher councils. “What are you onto, Pedro?” My mother snapped, her nails digging into her palms I feared it would draw blood. “You know what I’m onto, mother. You constantly ridicule Harper for being a low wolf. A dirty omega. But you forget that your mother— the one who gave birth to you, was also an omega who just had the grace of falling into the heart of a promiscuous beta!” I countered calmly, watching her face fall with fear. “N—no. That’s a lie. That woman wasn’t my mother. My mother is the legitimate wife of my father!” She sh
Chapter 20Pedro’s POV Even with the massive cloak on her back, she still looked beautiful. Her green eyes shining like that of an angel. And I couldn’t stop myself from yearning for her. Feeling her soft smooth skin against my rough hands. Not even the thick cloak could protect her from my heavy piercing gaze. I wanted this woman more than I needed my breath and it killed me everyday to keep my distance from her. When my mother suddenly showed, making Harper’s bright smile drop from her face, I felt my entire body go tense. I had wanted to watch her smile like that forever, but my mother just had to spoil the whole mood. My mother was still so reluctant to accept Harper as my mate. She had never really liked any of the women I had brought home, so it didn’t really surprise me when she let out her distaste for Harper. But Harper was different, and that was what I had been trying to make her see for weeks now. All those other women were just random. They weren’t my mate. The mome
Chapter 5Harper’s povIt took me about 10 seconds to realize what Quinton, Pedro’s father had just implied. A tiny whimper left my lips and I clamped my mouth shut. A breeder?Of course I was nothing but a lowly omega but I had never thought I would be forced to only breed for an alpha. I could

Chapter ThreeHarper I stared at Pedro, my heart doing frantic somersaults in my chest. "Your mate? That is impossible. I was married to Elec for three years. If there was a bond, I would have felt it."Pedro leaned even closer, his shadow swallowing me whole. "Elec is a fool who wouldnt know a fa
Chapter OneHarper The rooftop terrace of the pack house looked absolutely perfect.I smoothed down the front of my silk dress and smiled at the dining table. I had spent the entire afternoon baking. Trays of warm vanilla pastries, roasted meats, and sweet breads sat under the soft glow of the fai
