Nyra’s POV

I realized I wanted him to kiss me.

The thought slammed into me so hard that panic rushed through my chest instantly. No. No no no.

This could not happen again. I stepped back so fast that Cassian’s hand dropped from my cheek immediately.

My breathing became uneven and Cassian’s silver eyes stayed locked onto mine carefully, it was like he noticed every dangerous thought inside my head.

Thunder crashed outside again and neither of us moved.
