LOGINYvette's POV
I took off even before he could shoot me a second glance. His men had tried to direct me back and although they weren't harsh whatsoever, I didn't dare to utter a word. I didn't even look up to either of them until I was alone in the room. Not caring who was watching, I dashed for the bed, putting the cover over my body so I could rot in my shame. I remained there, rejecting meals and companies of the maids until all I could do was stop fighting exhaustion and shame. I gave into the darkness that consumed me. *** “Wake up.” I heard a thick masculine voice from a distance. “You slept past waking-up time, moth,” the irritation in his voice made me shudder even before he grazed my skin. My eyes fluttered open. I jumped from the bed, putting a good distance between us while trying to catch my breath “Stay away from me,” I warned. “Good morning, Yvette Morgan,” he yawned indifferently before tucking his hands into either side of his pocket. Okayyy… With the way he was fully dressed and the sun rays violently piercing through the window, he could be right. I overslept. “Go away,” I stuttered. “You can send the maids to wake me—” “Commanding me?” “Maybe. All I'm trying to say is, I don't want you in the same space as me.” The amusement in his eyes crinkled before something darker and quiet settled in. He sat on the bed without tearing his gaze from mine, then pulled my chin so that I was only a breath away from his face. “You are in no position to bargain, moth,” his voice was low and hypnotising. “You are in my world. I call the shots. Whenever. Wherever. With whomever…” He trailed off to smirk. “I want.” He let me go without warning, making me almost fall from the bed. Not that he cared. He tossed a shopping bag to me and rose to his feet. “We leave in 30 minutes. Don't keep us waiting.” Us? “Who are—” The door slammed shut. “Danm it!” I rose from the bed to take a good look at what it was this time. A black velvet gown with silver embroidery and… a pair of heels as well as a purse. Cold shivers ran down my spine as my mind ran through a million scenarios. They made me want to curl myself back up on the bed but… 30 mins… those would be all I have to save my mother. I dashed for the bathroom where I only did the necessary, dried my hair and put on the gown he got. It was slightly above my knee and had openings on either side of my waist which exposed my skin. My cleavage and curves were also as visible as daylight, but I could only care less. I tied the last strap of the heels then picked my purse before carefully opening the door. His men were already there. “This way,” one gestured towards the hallway. I moved without uttering a word until I was outside the building, face-to-face with the devil himself. With a nod, he commanded about ten of his men into their positions, and one of the ones standing next to us opened the door. “Yvette,” he said my name like a curse. With a deep breath, I clenched my jaw and entered the car after him. “Where are we going?” I couldn't help but ask when he wouldn't even talk or look at me. Still, he easily acted as though I wasn't even there, let alone asked him a question. With each passing second he spent laser-focused on his phone and I spent trying to calm my nerves, the air around us became thicker. I scratched the hem of my dress then looked out through the window. “Turn around.” The finality in his voice made me steal a glance at him. His fists were clenched, neither was he looking at his phone again. I swallowed hard. “I-is something wrong?” No response. However, the rate at which the driver drove and the complicated look in his eyes gave it off. The car came to a halt in front of two large gates. “Your father has restricted entrance on you, boss,” the man on the passenger seat informed him. “Really?” He let out a dry laugh then dialed a number. “This would be the last time I'd try to reason with you, father. Get those clowns to undo this nonsense and let me in.” In no time, the gates were opened and we drove in before the two cars behind us. We stepped out of the car without saying a word to each other. Only when he led us out of the elevator to a dimly lit hallway did he spare me a glance. “In my world, the rich gets richer and in doing so they get so saturated that they start to seek other benefits besides money in every deal. You are going to be the benefit of this deal, Yvette, and you should know what happens if this goes south.” I blinked in confusion. “What are you talking about?” “You'll see,” he gave me what looked like a smile before placing his hand on my bare waist. “Step aside.” He opened the double door I didn’t even know was there only to be greeted by a good number of men in suits all seated around a large table. An elderly man sat in the middle and from how Knox tensed up while his gaze was directed at him, I could tell he was Knox's father. “Leave,” the man in his mid-fifties ordered. Everyone made their ways to the door except for Knox of course. I turned to leave as well, but the old man spoke again. “Not you, Dove.” His voice was warm… a clear contrast from Knox. I almost doubted he was his father until he rose from his seat to greet us. “You're with my son and I'm assuming he brought you here for a reason, right son?” his smile widened. “Cut the chase already—” “That's not a way to speak to your father, Knox,” his voice switched to dangerously low in a way that made me take a few steps backwards. I saw the same darkness identical to Knox's and I knew it then. This was Knox's father and it didn't matter how warm he was now… he could be worse than Knox. He cleared his throat when he noticed my fear. “I'm Christopher, by the way,” he extended his hand to me, grinning as though the last few seconds hadn't happened. “And you are welcome to my abode.” I nodded instead of shaking his hand. “She'll be yours just for one night and you'll sign everything in my mother's will over to me now.” “What's with the rush, son—” “I know how well you don't like your meals being delayed, father. It's a favour. Sign the papers and I'll be on my way already.” “What's going on here?” I didn't direct the question to anyone in particular. My heart rate sped up as Christopher no longer looked at me with warmth. “Knox? Please say something.” “I'll take it that he didn't teach you the basics before bringing you here, so in that case,” his wicked grin grew, as he turned to Knox. “He'll watch while I take you.” “Knox!” I shook his arm. He removed my hands from his arm reluctantly. For the first time I saw a defenseless knox before me. My eyes grew wide at the implication. “Get on your knees now, dove,” his fingers unfastened his belt. “No,” I repeated, shaking my head furiously. “Please Knox this wasn't in—” “Can't you see, dove? He can't save you for his father.” Disgust and anger roared in me as I fought the tears that threatened to fall from my eyes. Who knew the most feared bastard was this pathetic?! “P-p-lease,” I turned to Christopher. “Yvette,” Knox's voice was thick, but not irritated or angry… I didn't care because he set me up in the first place, so I ignored him and begged again. “On. Your. Knees.” “Do it, Yvette,” his tone held finality, but almost sounded like a plea. I fell to my knees and swallowed hard before unzipping his pants. My heart kept pounding in my chest and my hands trembled as I grazed his dick against his boxers. “Tsk tsk, Knox, my boy. You better watch daddy cum or no deal for you.” Tension rose at his order while I silently prayed for Knox to put an end to this madness. He reluctantly glared at his father before turning one of the leather chairs towards us. “Please,” my voice broke once more. The look in his eyes when he looked down at me was very different. It didn't matter, though, because it shattered my heart before his words could. “The deal is on.”Yvette's POVI couldn't get any angrier knowing I had just ended up in Christopher's mansion. The very place he had hurt me and where I had promised I would never be, even with Knox around to protect me. But somehow, I had found myself there at that time of night. My patience grew even thinner with him hesitating. It freaked me out in a way I didn't dare to show, or else he could use my fear as an invitation… or maybe not, but it would certainly boost his ego. I wasn't sure I could handle that if it happened, so I mustered enough bravery and urged him all the more."In case you've forgotten, this place would be the first place he'd storm into if he finds out I'm missing."My suspicions were right. He turned in my direction abruptly, almost as if my words were a threat to whatever the reason was that made him so hesitant."Would he?""Thanks to whatever it is you told Evelyn. He'd know I'm the first person to suspect."The corner of his lips curled into what I'd always recognise as his
Christopher's POVDesperation is often one of the worst positions to be in. It drives you utterly mad and sometimes it just leads you to do the things you'd always swear to never do.It made me beg my son's little dove but now… it's making her blow up my phone. Not that I planned not to keep my end of the deal, but only after I was sure the timing wouldn't implicate us all.I could tell the investors that it was a conspiracy and try to block out all other sources… at least gain some ground no matter how little, then give the documents to her. That way, even if Knox reacts, because of course he'll know what happened the moment he sees everything I seized from him in Yvette's hands, I'll be sure to have formed a soft landing for myself.Besides that, she grew undeniably attractive every day such that having to see her without memories of how I fucked her resurfacing was impossible. My body yearned for the same kind of pleasure. Evelyn didn't even come close to it and so I had to keep my
Yvette's POVIt's been two days since that and thankfully, Knox hadn't said or done anything. Actually, that was a wrong testament considering I had done everything in my power to make sure that we don't meet or as much as bump into each other.I also hadn't heard from Christopher and I could swear at this point… my patience with him was growing miserably thin. A part of me believed that even while he stopped pressuring me that night, whatever Evelyn said must have been grave enough to pull such a reaction out of him in the first place. Worse, he'd almost never let something as grave as that go.Everything pointed towards my cover blowing up sooner than later, so I took the risk and even called Christopher with every contact I could use to reach him.I was surprised to hear a knock on my door because in those past two days, no one had knocked. I had always gone downstairs to eat breakfast and have dinner. I hesitated before nearing the door, waiting for whoever it was to knock again s
Yvette's POV"I think I'm in love with you."His words left me frozen in place even though all of me had yearned to hear these words from his mouth someday.I watched as my palms turned pale and the hope burning in his eyes when he said them, slowly faded into an emotion or perhaps tons of emotions I didn't and couldn't understand."I'm in love with you, Yvette," he repeated, this time gentler than before while brushing the strands of hair covering my face behind my ears."Y-you… do?""I do," he answered eagerly, pushing his weight forward so we could sit even closer to each other than we were before. "I've always been… I was just so reluctant to admit it to myself… and… I… I… I don't want to regret not ever saying it," his voice was barely above a whisper now as he spoke. He brushed the corner of my lips, while gazing into my eyes.I knew this was the time for me to say something. Anything at all. What I had also been longing to say to him. Worse, what I regretted not saying even ear
Knox's POVThe instant she ran off made me realise I had made a terrible mistake by not thinking my reaction through before exploding the way that I did.I scratched my head, very desperate to fix this mess even though I didn't know how to do that.I also couldn't just walk up to her and tell her everything Evelyn said because she'd be so disappointed in me for having to believe her lies except… Evelyn has never had a reason to lie to my face like that. She and Christopher had the same habit of leaving you with the truth whether or not you were capable of handling it.I stopped pacing right in front of the painting above my headboard, instantly realising her gaze had been stuck on the paintings before she bolted.Without any plan up my sleeve. I pushed open my door and walked towards her. My feet felt a strange repulsion with each step as she sobbed behind her door and suddenly I began to wonder if I should see her.Right. At least not tonight.I also needed to clear my head and look
Yvette's POVI stumbled backwards, then looked around for any sign of Evelyn. Also, since she had a lover, I looked around for a sign of him as well. She couldn't have told Knox something detrimental if Christopher hadn't kept in touch with her."Talk to me, Yvette!" He demanded, making me jump.I shook my head, trying to find the right reaction. His hands were folded into fists and his veins were more visible thanks to how hard he was squeezing them."What happened?"He chuckled in response. The kind you hear in movies where the antagonist was trying to laugh through being screwed— dry and cold. I watched as he ran his fingers through his hair rapidly before finally slamming his fist against the bonnet."Knox!" I whimpered, instinctively moving towards him, but he yanked me off.Shocked by the weight of his anger, I lost balance and fell to the ground."I demand nothing but the damn truth from you, Yvette!" He snapped, pointing his index finger at me while his eyes looked wild. "Tell
Yvette's POVI jerked away from him before he could ask again.“Are you—”“I'm fine,” I scrambled, trying to catch my breath. “Thanks.”With that, I ran off to the restroom. With both hands on the sink for support and my heart raging as though it was going to explode in my chest, I exhaled longer t
Yvette's POVI reluctantly went home after everything was done. Dave as always never bothered to say a word, still I didn't miss his continuous stare. He better not be expecting me to discuss what happened with the doctor because that wasn't happening! He opened my door when we got to the garage an
Yvette's POVI picked my robe as well as my panties before exiting his room. My body still felt weak, but I couldn't afford to see the look in his eyes when he woke up to see me lying next to him bare.I collapsed against my door, still feeling weird about not using protection… choosing not to pani
Yvette's POVI still couldn't believe my eyes and for what it's worth, I couldn't stop reading the instructions on the card. I read it long enough to make certain deductions I couldn't say out loud before I squirmed. How cute? I picked one sachet of condoms to closely inspect it.Mr. Ice is damn we
