If looks could kill my dearest mate would be dead. I just met him yet I hate his attitude.

‘No you don’t.’ My werewolf—felicia says, interrupting my thoughts. ‘Can’t you just go back to the hole you go to in the back of my mind and allow me to think in peace.’ I respond. I wonder how crazy Christina will react when she realizes she’s a werewolf and once she shifts will be able to talk to her werewolf.

‘I know right.’ Felicia interrupts my thoughts again. ‘Can you stop that! We’re in a situation here.’ I immediately shut her out and focus on the situation at hand. My mate, whose name I still don’t know, just syringed both Peter and Christina and is taking them to only God knows where. He sent his minions to take them somewhere yet it’s the same direction we seem to be heading.

“You can stop throwing daggers on the back of my head with your stare.” My dearest mate says. How did he know I was doing that!?

“I’m not.” I huff. He’s walking in front of me whilst Melissa and I walk behind him.

He slows down and stands beside me before he continues walking.

“I’m Isaac.” He says whilst looking sideways at me. He seems to be 6 foot tall so I have to look up to see his eyes.

I didn't want to respond to him but Melissa pinched me with her hand on my right side which caused me to raise my left hand. It bumps into him and he decides to hold it. I immediately recoil and try to remove it even though I can hear Felicia whimpering and pleading for me to keep holding our dearest mates hand. Melissa notices my movements and pinches me again so I let Felicia win and just grip his hand more. I would be lying if I said it didn’t feel good.

“I’m Becca.” I finally respond.

“I know you're displeased with my actions, but as a gamma you should understand that I have to do certain things as a Beta. Even if it includes locking up your rogue friends.” He says.

“I understand.” I whisper even though I want to snort. He’s only locking them up because they smelt like rogues to him, he was confused about Christina because she smells like an omega yet doesn’t have white strands of hair in between her brown hair which is the same hair color every omega has. She had dyed her hair brown but he’s not aware and I refuse to tell him she’s an actual omega, if not, she’ll be killed or worse, tortured.

“Anyways.. What are two powerful gammas like yourselves doing with rogues?” He asks whilst looking at the grass we’re walking on in the middle of the forest.

“You act like being a gamma is some big achievement. We’re technically just soldiers. I should be asking you why a powerful Beta such as yourself was busy lurking at the outskirts of his pack's territory. Were you expecting someone else?” Melissa says and raises a brow. I love when she makes sassy remarks.

Isaac just chuckles. I don’t think they were expecting someone else, they probably just saw us in their territory and wanted to know who dared to infiltrate it without request.

She’s been trying to keep me on Isaac’s good side ever since she found out we’re mates. After they’d put the hoods over Christina and Peter's heads and were dragging them away, she had whispered to me that I should make sure his love for me keeps growing so that I can gain his trust because he’s the only one that can get us out of this mess.

I agreed and here I am, being forced to hold his hand instead of using the hand to poke his eyes out.

“We’re here Beta Isaac.” One of his minions says from behind us.

I look away from Isaac and I’s interlocked hands and look back in front of me. There’s a huge mansion similar to our dads but smaller. Each pack stays in a mansion, the Alpha king made sure of it.

It’s in a rectangular shape however and reminds me of the White House in some way, just without the huge pillars In the front. We come out of the forest and I notice more details about the building.

There are plants growing from top to bottom on the walls. There are children playing around and even some werewolves chasing each other.

If I hadn’t just almost gotten kidnapped by this pack I’d actually think it was pretty demure.

“Which way did they take Christina and Peter?” Melissa whispers.

“I’m not sure, but I think it was in here.” I say.

We walk through the front door and are immediately overwhelmed with different people greeting us. The Gammas of the Cross moon pack.

“So nice of you to visit.” An old woman says with a bright smile on her face and I try my best not to scowl because I can see right through the fakeness.

“Visit? She’s my mate, she’s here to stay.” Isaac says and I just look at him, so does Melissa. I immediately remove my hands from his and walk further into the building.

The interior is beautiful, it has decorations of Cupid and almost everything is brown and is either made of wood or animal skin. They are hanged animals all over the walls as decoration. The carpets are made from animal skin too.

Right in front of the entrance a few meters away is the animal skin covered throne. I have heard about this pack a lot but because it’s not really seen as high I didn’t bother myself enough to check on the territory and its location.

“I’ll go call Alpha Xavier.” Isaac says and leaves.

“Isaac must be insane if he thinks you're staying here with him.” Melissa says.

‘You should though! There’s nothing wrong with that, and anyways you’ll soon enter heat now that you’ve met your mate.’ Felicia says. I dunno how she managed to leave the back of my mind and is now right at the front. I ignore her and link my mind to my dads so that I can let him know that Christina’s in trouble. He had told us to keep him updated on everything.

“I think we should just mind link our thoughts before our words get heard and lead us to trouble.” I say to Melissa.

‘Fine.’ Melissa says through the mind link.

‘I wouldn’t have minded if it wasn’t for the fact that he’s not a good person’ I respond.

‘You just met him today, give him time!’ Felicia intervenes as usual. I’m thanking God that our werewolves can only communicate with their persons mind and not other people's mind, if not Melissa would be hearing what Felicia is saying. And unfortunately for me, Felicia can hear whatever I mindlink or get mind linked.

Isaac returns and I feel the power of Alpha Xavier Before he even appears. He finally walks through a door and sits on his throne. We all kneel in his presence to show our respect.

“Alpha Xavier, thank you for permitting us to meet you.” I say standing from my bent position.

“It is indeed a pleasure.” Melissa says and smiles.

“The pleasures all mine, Isaac here says you are his mate, we’ve been looking for you for years, can you believe that,” Xavier chuckles.

“Feel at home, you two will soon be married.” He smiles flashing his white teeth that contrast with his brown skin and hazel eyes.

I try not to roll my eyes.

“Anyways, what brought you to our territory?” He raises a brow.

“We were running from a bunch of rogues, they tried to kill our rogue friends but stopped chasing after us when we entered this territory. Forgive us, we didn’t know where we were heading towards.” I say and Xavier nods. I can sense Isaac smiling proudly next to me, he must be beaming. Ugh.

“May we see our friends?” Melissa asks and I almost hit her head in front of everyone.

“Why were you running from rogues because of rogues?” Xavier asks and shakes his head, “hell, why are you friends with rogues.” He raises a brow.

“That’s what I asked too.” Isaac says out of nowhere like someone asked for his opinion. His hands are back to being behind his back, he’s wearing shorts and a shirt. He changed when he went to get Xavier.

“We don’t like to discriminate.” I shrug.

“Too bad because I love to discriminate. You may not see your friends.” He frowns and lifts up his hand indicating that we should leave his front.

Isaac holds my hand and I hold Melissa’s as he drags us elsewhere. It’s the living room of the mansion, at least one of them because I’m sure there are many. This one has a bunch of couches everywhere. Including dining tables. He lets go of my hand once we enter and then holds onto the door.

“I’ll send you guys food and water, make yourselves at home.” He smiles and leaves.

I make sure the door closes before I turn to Melissa. “Why the hell would you ask that?” I spit.

“I’m sorry, I was worried about them!” She all but yells.

‘Our conversations might be recorded, forget about your stupidity for now, we’ll deal with that later. How do you plan to get Christina and Peter out?’ I mindlink Melissa.

‘True. You need to go talk to Isaac, try and find out more about him and get information out of him, after that convince him to talk to Xavier for us so that At Least they’ll get a chance to be brought in front of Xavier, perhaps he’ll be Lenient.’ Melissa says.

‘Do I really have to be the one to do this.’

Melissa nods and I sigh. Today’s going to be a long day.

CHAPTER NINETY-FIVE - EPILOGUE 2CHRISTINAI had always wanted a night wedding.Something about the idea of saying the most important words of my life under a sky full of stars felt right in a way I couldn't fully explain. So the whole morning was given over to getting ready, and the room was full of women, laughing and talking over each other, passing things back and forth, someone always doing something to someone else's hair.I hadn't seen Marcel since the night before, that was the rule we'd agreed on, no contact until I walked down the aisle, and I had underestimated how strange it would feel to wake up without him in the same building. One of the younger omegas was suggesting we make a run for it, disappear somewhere in the pack grounds and make Marcel come searching, and the whole room was laughing at this when the door burst open.A girl stood in the frame, chest heaving with eyes wide."You have to come see this," she said. "Right now, everyone"Nobody asked questions, we we

CHAPTER NINETY-FOUR — EPILOGUECHRISTINA⋆。°✩ ⋆⁺。˚⋆ five months later ⋆˚⁺⋆。°✩⋆After Pierce died, everything became smooth. That's the only way I know how to say it, it was not perfect, and not without grief, but smooth, just like the way a road becomes after the worst of the storm had passed and you can finally see where you're going again.Becca and Melissa took their mother's death hard at first, that was expected and it was right. Whatever Pierce had done, she was still their mother and they were allowed to mourn her. Marcel gave them the space to do that without judgment and slowly, over weeks that turned into months, they came around. They started showing up for dinners, started talking without the guardedness that grief puts around people, It helped that they'd been also given time to grieve their father too.We couldn't make it to Davina's son's naming ceremony and she understood without needing much explanation. Those early months were hectic in ways that were hard to des

CHAPTER NINETY-THREECHRISTINAI felt her move through me, this huge deep power coursing from the inside out. I felt Patricia before I even saw her.My name, called out in a voice I hadn't heard since Maxwell took me, warm and bright and familiar in the way only she had ever been.I turned.Patricia was standing a few feet away, and she was glowing, not the soft shimmer I remembered but something stronger, her white hair lit from within like moonlight concentrated into a single point. She looked more real than anything around me, more solid, more present.I couldn't speak for a second. She crossed to me and wrapped her arms around me and I held on."You're back," I said."I never left," she said simply. "I've been with you the whole time, you just couldn't reach me."I pulled back and looked at her face."I tried so many times," I said."I know." She smiled. "But you're ready now, that's the difference."“Am I?” I asked and she nodded.“You're ready Christina” she said softly but I

CHAPTER NINETY-TWOCHRISTINA"Dad."He didn't respond."Dad, please."I pressed my hands against the sides of his face, tilting it toward me, his eyes were half open and unfocused, there was so much blood, too much, spreading fast beneath his head across the floor."Someone help me!" I screamed. "Please, someone help!"And then he coughed.A wet, broken sound that sent relief crashing through me so hard I started crying before I could stop it."Okay," I said, my voice shaking badly. "Okay, you're okay, I'm going to get the doctor, just stay right there…."His hand found my wrist.Weak and barely any grip at all but it was enough to stop me."Don't," he said."Dad….""Christina." His voice was barely there. Just breath carrying sound. "Just stay." He said "You need help, you're bleeding, I have to….""Stay," he said again.I couldn't move, I couldn't leave him and I couldn't stop crying, I pressed his hand between both of mine and held on.He looked at me, the way he had when I firs

CHAPTER NINETY-ONECHRISTINAMy father stood up from his chair slowly and walked to the window. He stood there with his back to me, his hands loose at his sides, looking out at whatever was beyond the glass. "We had to leave again," he said. "After the massacre we went into hiding, found a remote part of the pack and stayed" He was quiet for a moment. "A few days passed, we thought maybe the worst of it was over.” He paused again."And then Damien called for Titiana again."I stayed very still. My father turned his head slightly but didn't fully turn around."I made mistakes," he said. "Ones I've had a long time to think about, I should have reported what Damien did to the hall of gods immediately, I should have sent that letter to Titiana after Veronica died, I should have done a hundred things differently." He exhaled slowly. "But I was unfocused and scattered, I kept thinking there was more time than there was."He stopped again."Dad," I said softly. "What happened to her?"H

CHAPTER NINETYCHRISTINA"If you knew you were spelled," I said carefully, "why didn't you do something about it?"My father was quiet for a moment, looking down at his hands."Two reasons," he said finally. "The first is that the spell, whatever it was, made it nearly impossible to act against it, the awareness of it would come and go, when I was with Titiana I could feel it clearly, like suddenly being able to see the walls of a room you'd been locked in but the moment I was away from her it would close back over me and I'd lose the thread of it." He shook his head slowly. "You can't fight something you can only see half the time.""And the second reason?"He exhaled. "Pierce was pregnant, my child was coming into the world and I couldn't walk away from that, whatever else was happening, whatever had been done to me, there was a baby who hadn't asked for any of it." He looked at me steadily. "I couldn't disappear on my own child.""So we kept seeing each other," he continued. "I
