KAELAN'S POV

"I can't help but wonder what sick plan you have in your head, Kael."

I rolled my eyes, without looking up from the paperwork I was signing.

"I thought I told those dumb skulls not to let anyone in," I hissed.

"Well, that order dosen't apply to the Alpha's best friend," Rio chuckled, and I finally tore my gaze from the papers.

"How about the seal I told you to get from the Western gates? Do you have it with you?" I asked, but Rio just rubbed his palm over his face, frustrated.

"Are you serious? Kael, it's your wedding day! You're getting married in the next few hours, and here you are. Who does that?" He asked in frustration.

"Just because I'm getting married dosen't mean i should forfeit my work. The marriage is not a big deal," I shrugged, and Rio scoffed.

"Now, I think you really have a problem," he said, and I let out a low chuckle.

Rio's the only one who's allows to speak to me im such casual manner, without risking his head cut off.

"Few weeks ago, you were all over getting her. You even went as far as causing trouble in her father's pack. You were still the same person who offered help, in return for her hand in marriage. You did everything to get her, and now it's not a big deal? Really?"

"I think you have it all wrong, dear friend," I said, finally getting up from my seat.

I was dressed for the ceremony already. My black tuxedo was glistening from the rays that seeped through the window opening behind me.

"This ain't a fairytale wedding," I said, putting one of my hands on his shoulder.

"Think about it as a punishment for a wild cat," I smirked, and walked out of the mini office, leaving him in a daze.

The guests bowed, immediately the large doors was open, and I walked amidst them, straight to the podium.

Immediately I mounted on it, they on went down on one knee. I inhale the scent of power; how much I loved it.

I've gained much power and reputation than I even bargained for within the last few years. I scanned the crowd, and my eyes met Isolde who was peeking at me, even in her subdued position.

Immediately she saw that I had caught her starting, she quickly forced her gaze back to the ground.

Filthy whore.

And that's just by the way. I shifted my weight from one foot the other. I don't have the patience to condone lateness, and right now, Seraphina is fucking late.

Is she messing with me?

As I rummaged through the different ways I could punish her for making me wait; the doors flung open, and I saw her.

Clad in her white, flowing dress that kade her look so innocent. A true facade. Seraphina's everything, but a pure, dainty, innocent lady.

She's one who won't look back once she's made a decision. She's one who doesn't care or think about her actions before taking them. She is feisty, and reckless. That I know.

I watched as her mouth hung open, as she looked around her, and I grinned, loving the look of utter shock on her face.

The guests present are all dressed in black, and that includes me.

She's the only one wearing a pure white dress, among thousands.

And instead of a wedding, it looked much more like a funeral; well—except from the mark her wedding dress made.

Her eyes settled back on me, and i could see hate brewing in them; and from the clenching and unclenching of her fists, i could tell she was really livid.

I watched as she took measured steps towards me. She appeared calm on the outside, but i could tell she was burning with fury.

Immediately she got to the base of the podium, I stretched out my palm.

She stared out my outstretched palm with pure disgust, hesitating before putting her hand in mine.

"Good girl," I whispered to her, immediately she was on the same level with me. "I thought you were planning to break one of the rules. That would be disastrous," I winked at her, and I could see her jaw clench.

I didn't release her hand. Instead, my grip tightened, not enough to hurt, but enough to be a cage. I turned to face the sea of black-clad wolves, pulling her roughly to my side.

"They are all here to witness this," I said, my voice low but carrying across the silent clearing.

"The rules are simple, Seraphina. You are mine. Your loyalty is to this pack. Your will is subject to my own. You will obey."

I turned my gaze fully on her. Her eyes were blazing embers, but her posture was rigid. "Repeat it."

She stayed silent, her breath a sharp hiss through her teeth. I squeezed her hand, a silent warning. The pressure built until she finally spat the words, each one tasting like ash.

"I am yours. My loyalty is to this pack. My will is subject to your own." A beat of defiant silence. "...I will obey."

Her voice was barely a whisper, but it was enough.

"Now, for the seal," I said, my voice cutting through the silence. From my pocket, I produced a black, leather cord. Dangling from it was my heavy signet ring, the solid silver crest of my lineage : a snarling wolf's head. "Every treaty needs a signature. Consider this mine, stamped upon you."

I moved to put it around her neck. She flinched back instinctively.

"Ah, ah," I chided softly, my voice a deadly calm. "The deal isn't complete until you wear my mark. Or would you like to see what 'disastrous' looks like?"

Her chest heaved with a suppressed rage that was a beautiful thing to behold. Slowly, with a tremor of pure hatred in her hands, she lifted her hair. I fastened the leather cord around her throat. The black stood in stark, brutal contrast against her white dress and pale skin. It was perfect.

"One final thing," I murmured, for her ears only. "The ceremonial vow must be sealed. For the pack."

Before she could react, I leaned in, my body shielding the action from most of the crowd. I didn't kiss her. I brought my lips to the junction of her neck and shoulder, right above the leather cord. I didn't break the skin, but I pressed my teeth against her flesh in a firm, unmistakable promise.

I felt her entire body go stiff. It was the mating bite in microcosm—a threat of what was to come, a brand of possession without the finality. I pulled back, my lips curved in a smirk.

"It is done."

SERAPHINA'S POVI should have been called in by now. The plan was for the ministers to demand my presence, and I would walk in and unleash my fire on them. These petty ministers. I still cannot wrap my head around the fact that Asher is even allowed to enter the palace.Everyone knows of his shenanigans, yet he still holds the title of an Alpha. I really do not understand Stonecrest sometimes."Your Majesty," a maid called, bowing as she stood at the entrance."What is it?" I stood, eager."The Grand Alpha requests your presence, Your Majesty," she said, and a smile spread across my lips.Finally."Lead the way."---The hall stretched before me as I walked. At the corner of my chest, right there, Vesper spoke. "You do not seem scared."Should I be?Maybe I should, but I was not feeling any fear. I should be scared. I was a sheep in the lion's den. The last remaining Elyxis. The one with fire that could burn down the whole country if wielded powerfully. They would do everything to bri

  • Bound To The Alpha I Rejected    CHAPTER EIGHTY THREE

KAELAN'S POVThe morning sun had barely risen over Stonecrest when the first carriage arrived.I stood at the window of my study, watching as more carriages rolled through the palace gates. One after another. Black. Polished. Bearing the crests of packs from across the territory. They had requested this meeting. Demanded it, really. A formal petition had arrived three days ago, signed by five Alpha houses, requesting an audience with the crown. The reason? Rumors. Whispers. Accusations against my Luna.Rio stood behind me, a scroll in his hand, reading the names."Alpha Marcus of the Shadowfang pack. Alpha Viktor of the Ironclaw pack. Alpha Helena of the Moonridge pack." He paused. "And Alpha Asher of the Blackfang pack."My jaw tightened at the last name.Asher.He had walked into my territory. My palace. After everything."They are being hosted in the east wing," Rio continued. "Refreshments have been served. They are... restless.""Let them be restless. They demanded this meeting.

ASHER'S POVThe fire had burned low in the hearth, casting long shadows across the walls of the small cottage. I sat in the corner, a glass of whiskey in my hand, my jaw tight.I had lost. Not the war. Not yet. But the battle. My soldiers were dead or scattered. My element of surprise was gone. And Kaelan was still breathing. I had pledged that I would return victorious, but right now, I was actually shocked. Her fire.I had seen many things in my years. War. Death. Betrayal. I had watched men die in agony, had caused most of it myself. But I had never seen anything like her.The flames had come from nowhere. From her. Not a torch. Not a weapon. Just her palm, glowing orange and gold, and then—Fire. She had burned a grown wolf to death. And from the way the fire blazed, it could get much stronger than that. It was as though she did not know her own capability just yet. But I saw it. The way the fire blazed, the determination the orange flames burned with, was massive.Kaelan was not

ISOLDE'S POVMy leg tapped against the floor in rhythm. I was trying to control how nervous and scared I felt, but it was not working.I gulped down the little alcohol left in the jar beside me and closed my eyes as it burned my throat.Alpha Kael would come for me. I was sure of that. Someone had reported that my family's crest was found at the scene where Asher attacked. So he must have known that I was at the palace and that I had a hand in the abduction of that wretched Luna and her son.How could I have been so careless? This was the height of carelessness. If care was not taken, it might cost me my life.My own foolishness.I picked up the jar again. When I realized I had emptied the bottle, a wave of rage surged through me. I threw the jar away angrily, shattering it into pieces. The maids beside me jolted and hurried to clean up the mess.I stretched out my hand, and another jar full of alcohol was placed in my palm. I might as well drink myself to death before I was actually

  • Bound To The Alpha I Rejected    CHAPTER EIGHTY

SERAPHINA'S POVThe soldiers had arranged for movement back to the palace. SUVs lined the edge of the forest, their headlights cutting through the darkness. Guards stood at attention, waiting for orders. Nathan was already settled in one of the vehicles, asleep in a makeshift bassinet one of the soldiers had fashioned from a crate and blankets. But before Kaelan and I got into the vehicle that would take us back, I pulled his hand.He stopped. Turned. Looked at me with a bit of curiosity and something else. Uncertainty."Hey... can I talk to you for a while?" I asked, pulling him aside. He followed me without saying a word. We walked a few paces away from the vehicles, away from the soldiers, away from the lights. The forest was dark here, the moonlight filtering through the trees in pale silver streaks.I stopped. Turned to face him."Kaelan...""I'm sorry." He stared deeply into my eyes. His voice was raw. Broken in a way I had never heard before. "I failed you, Seraphina. I did. I

KAELAN'S POVThe word hung in the air like a death sentence.Found you.Asher's smile was cold, triumphant. His sword pressed deeper against Seraphina's back. Just a fraction. Just enough to draw a thin line of blood.I saw it drip down her spine. My vision went red, and my fists folded. Tempest surged inside me, clawing at my chest, begging to be released. I wanted to shift. I wanted to tear Asher's throat out with my bare hands. I wanted to make him suffer for every second he had touched her, every moment he had made her afraid. But the sword was still at her back, so I couldn't make any move yet.One wrong move and it would go through her. Through Nathan.I forced myself to breathe. Forced myself to think."Let her go." My voice was low. Deadly. "This is between you and me."Asher tilted his head, amused. "Is it? Because from where I'm standing, she seems very much involved. And too bad there's nothing you can do about it. You're not so stupid.""She has nothing to do with Alyssa.
