MasukElara’s POV
I didn’t have time to think.
One moment Kael was looking at me like I was both his salvation and his damnation, and the next his mouth was on mine again — hard, demanding, claiming. His tongue swept inside, tasting me like he owned every part of me already. Maybe he did.
The sheet slipped from my fingers as he pushed me back onto the bed. His body covered mine, heavy and warm, all hard muscle and restrained power. I could feel how hard he was again, pressing insistently against my thigh through his pants. My body responded instantly, a fresh wave of heat pooling between my legs even though I was still sore from the first time.
“Again?” I whispered against his lips, half protest, half plea.
His answering growl vibrated through my chest. “Yes. Again. I need to feel you. Need to remind myself you’re real.”
He didn’t rush this time.
His hands roamed over me slowly, reverently almost, mapping every curve like he was memorizing me. When he cupped my breast and rolled the nipple between his fingers, I arched into his touch with a broken moan. He swallowed the sound with another deep kiss.
“You’re so responsive,” he murmured, lips trailing down my neck. “So perfect for me.”
He took his time exploring. Kissing. Licking. Biting gently at the sensitive spots that made me gasp and squirm. By the time his mouth closed around my nipple, sucking hard, I was already dripping again, aching for him.
“Kael…” His name fell from my lips like a prayer and a curse.
He moved lower, strong hands spreading my thighs wide. I tried to close them instinctively, still shy, still overwhelmed. He didn’t let me. His grip was firm but not bruising.
“Look at me,” he ordered.
I did.
His eyes were glowing brighter now, amber fire in the dim room. He held my gaze as he lowered his head and licked a slow, broad stripe up my center. My hips bucked off the bed. He did it again, slower, savoring. Then he focused on my clit, circling it with the tip of his tongue before sucking it into his mouth.
I cried out, fingers tangling in his hair. The pleasure was sharp and overwhelming. He ate me like a man starving, tongue fucking into me, then back to my clit, two thick fingers joining the assault until I was sobbing his name and coming hard against his mouth.
He didn’t stop until I was shaking and oversensitive.
Only then did he rise up, stripping off his clothes with impatient movements. His cock sprang free — thick, long, the knot already partially swollen at the base. The sight of it made my mouth go dry and my pussy clench.
He settled between my thighs and pushed inside in one smooth thrust.
We both groaned.
This time he fucked me slow and deep. Rolling his hips, grinding against my clit with every stroke. His mouth stayed on mine, swallowing my moans. One hand pinned my wrist above my head. The other gripped my thigh, holding me open for him.
“Mine,” he growled against my lips. “Say it again.”
“I’m yours,” I gasped, the words coming easier this time. The bond purred in approval.
His pace quickened. The knot started to swell. When he finally pushed it inside me and locked us together again, I came so hard my vision whited out. He followed right after, flooding me with heat, groaning my name like it was a prayer.
We stayed locked like that for a long time, breathing each other in. His fingers stroked through my hair. Mine traced the scars on his chest.
Eventually the knot went down. He cleaned me gently with a warm cloth from the bathroom, then dressed me in one of his oversized black shirts. It smelled like him. I liked it more than I wanted to admit.
“We’re leaving,” he said, helping me to my feet. “Now.”
I didn’t argue.
The ride out of the city was quiet at first.
Kael drove a sleek black SUV with tinted windows. His hand stayed on my thigh the whole time, thumb stroking absently. I watched the city lights fade behind us as we headed toward the forested hills outside Raven’s Hollow.
The Obsidian Pack territory.
My new home.
I shifted in the seat, still sore, still feeling the ghost of him inside me. Every bump in the road made me aware of the marks he had left on my body.
“Tell me about the pack,” I said finally, needing to fill the silence.
Kael glanced at me. His expression was guarded but not unkind.
“We’re one of the oldest packs in the region. Strong. Traditional in some ways. Brutal in others. I took over after my parents were killed. I’ve spent years making sure no one can touch us again.”
There was pain in his voice when he mentioned his parents. Old pain. Deep.
I wanted to ask more, but something told me not to push. Not yet.
Instead I looked down at the glowing crescent scar on my wrist. It was faint now, but I could still feel it pulsing faintly in time with my heartbeat.
“What is this?” I asked quietly. “Why does it react to you?”
Kael’s grip on the steering wheel tightened.
“It’s the mark of something ancient. Something dangerous. My pack has been fighting it for generations. I thought it was just a curse… until I saw it on you.”
He reached over and took my hand, thumb brushing over the scar. The contact sent a spark through both of us.
“I don’t know what it means that you carry it,” he admitted. “But I won’t let it hurt you. I swear that on my life.”
The sincerity in his voice made my chest ache.
We drove deeper into the forest. The trees grew taller, older. The road narrowed until it was little more than a winding path through the woods. Eventually we passed through an invisible barrier — the air shimmered, and suddenly there were wolves running alongside the car, eyes glowing in the headlights.
Kael’s pack.
They howled in greeting. He rolled down the window and let out a low, powerful sound from his chest that made my skin tingle. The wolves answered.
The compound came into view suddenly — a massive modern fortress blended seamlessly with the ancient forest. Stone walls. Steel and glass. Lights glowing warmly in the windows. It looked both welcoming and impenetrable.
Kael parked in front of the main building. Several people were waiting — a tall man with kind eyes (his Beta, I guessed), a few warriors, and an older woman who looked like she could command armies with a single glance.
He helped me out of the car. My legs were shaky. He kept an arm around my waist, steadying me.
“This is Elara,” he announced, voice carrying. “My mate.”
The reaction was immediate. Gasps. Whispers. The older woman’s eyes widened when she saw the mark on my wrist.
“Alpha…” she started.
“Not now, Elder Selene,” Kael cut her off. “She needs rest. We’ll talk in the morning.”
He led me inside, through beautiful hallways lined with dark wood and modern art. Up a grand staircase. Into what had to be the Alpha’s quarters — a massive suite with a king-sized bed, a sitting area, and floor-to-ceiling windows looking out over the forest.
He closed the door behind us and turned to face me.
“You’re safe here,” he said. “No one will touch you. No one will hurt you.”
I believed him.
But as he pulled me into his arms again, kissing me slow and deep like he couldn’t get enough, I couldn’t shake the feeling that the real danger wasn’t outside these walls.
It was already inside me.
And it was waking up.
Elara’s POVThe air in the pack house had grown thick with the scent of blood and fear.I could hear the chaos outside — wolves howling in pain, the sickening sound of shadow creatures tearing through stone and flesh. The Obsidian Pack, the strongest in the region, was crumbling because of the darkness that lived inside me.Kael held me tightly, his body still joined with mine, his knot locked deep. He had barely slept in days. His arms trembled with exhaustion, but he refused to let go. Every time the entity stirred, he would move inside me, slow and deliberate, trying to strengthen the mate bond and push the darkness back. But something felt wrong tonight. The entity had gone too quiet.I felt a new presence through the bond — not the ancient curse, but a familiar one. My wolves fought bravely, but they were losing ground fast.I stood on the balcony of our quarters, Elara still in my arms, my knot locked deep inside her. I refused to pull out. Not even now.“Hold the eastern wall!” I roared through the Alpha link to my warriors. “Do not let them breach the inner compound!”Lucian’s voice came back strained and pained: “We’re trying, Alpha… but they keep coming. And the darkness… it feels like it’s coming from inside the house.”I looked down at Elara. Her eyes were flickering between hazel and red. Elara’s POVThe pack house was falling apart around me.I stood on the balcony, the cold night air biting at my naked skin. Kael’s seed still leaked down my thighs from our last desperate knotting. The mark on my wrist burned like fire, the entity fully awake and in control.Look at what you’ve done, it whispered through my mind. Your Alpha left you to save his precious pack. How easily he abandoned you.My body moved without my permission. Black energy swirled around my hands as I raised them toward the forest. Shadow creatures poured from the trees in greater numbers, slamming against the walls, tearing through my pack’s defenses.I screamed inside my own head.Stop! Please stop hurting them! The entity laughed with my voice — cold and cruel. They deserve it. Kael’s POVThe room was in ruins.Shattered glass from the broken windows littered the floor. Black energy crackled in the air like living lightning. And in the center of it all stood Elara — my mate — with eyes glowing blood red and a smile that was not hers. The entity had taken full control.I shifted back to human form, blood trickling from the corner of my mouth where the dark blast had hit me. My body ached, but the pain was nothing compared to the terror clawing at my chest.“Elara,” I growled, taking a slow step forward. “Fight it. You’re stronger than this thing. Come back to me.”The entity laughed with her voice — cold, ancient, and mocking.“She’s tired, Alpha. She’s been fighting me for days while you fucked her senseless. How noble of you. Using your knot as a weapon.” It tilted her head, Elara’s beautiful face twisted in cruel amusement. “But even your seed can’t hold me back forever.”Black tendrils shot from her hands toward me. Elara’s POVThe pack house was in chaos.Screams and howls echoed from outside as shadow creatures slammed against the protective barriers. The Obsidian Curse was no longer content to stay inside me — it was calling its own kind. Black tendrils of darkness slithered through the forest, attacking the outer walls, searching for weakness.I stood at the window of our quarters, Kael’s arms wrapped tightly around me from behind. His body was still pressed against mine, his cock buried deep inside me even as the world outside fell apart. He had refused to pull out. Refused to stop knotting me. He believed — desperately — that the more he filled me, the stronger the bond became, and the weaker the entity inside me would grow. But I could feel the opposite happening. The voice in my head was louder now. Clearer. Almost comforting in its ancient certainty.Let me in fully, it whispered. I can give you power beyond anything this Alpha can offer. Together we will rule. Together we will destroy t
Elara’s POVThe pain came in waves. It started as a dull throb in my wrist, then exploded into white-hot fire that raced up my arm and straight into my chest. I woke up gasping, back arching off the bed so violently that the headboard slammed against the wall. The mark — that cursed crescent scar — was glowing so brightly it lit the entire bedroom in a sick, pulsing red light.“Kael!” I cried out.He was already there.Strong arms wrapped around me instantly, pulling me against his bare chest. His heart was hammering as hard as mine. I could feel his fear through the bond — sharp, raw, and desperate.“I’ve got you,” he growled, voice rough with sleep and fury. “Breathe, little mate. I’m right here.”But the entity didn’t care.It pushed harder, clawing at the edges of my mind, trying to rip control away from me. My body jerked violently in Kael’s arms. For a terrifying second, I felt my limbs move without my permission — my legs spreading wider, my hips tilting up as if offering mysel
