LOGINAria's POV
When dawn broke, I opened my heavy eyes.
I felt a sharp pain all over my body.
"Aria, you have a severe spiritual virus infection."
"You came in time, or your wolf would be in danger. We tried to call your mate, but..."
"I see. Thank you," I forced a weak smile.
I pulled my phone.
More than ten missed calls from Julian popped up.
Why would he call me?
Then, someone was calling again.
"Lara?" I spoke, my voice raspy.
"You bad woman! Are you trying to kill Kierra?!"
I froze.
"Lara, what are you talking about?"
"Stop pretending! Kierra wore your pajamas last night, and now she is sick! Daddy stayed up all night by her side! I hate you!"
"Lara, calm down. I put herbs into the fabric, because you and Issac loved the smell before. How is that my fault?"
"You're lying! I don't believe you!" Lara slammed the phone.
My vision blurred.
Suddenly, a little hand reached out, holding a tissue.
"Please don't cry."
I looked up.
It was Nola, the little girl from the next bed.
"Thank you, Nola," I said and smiled.
"When you smile, you look like a glowing fairy!"
"Too bad... my Daddy already has Mommy. But my uncle is single! He is super handsome!"
"Nola, I already have a mate."
"Really? Then where is your mate?" Nola asked innocently.
"When Mommy gets sick, Daddy stays up all night to watch over her!"
The smile faded from my face.
The weak Mate Bond felt frozen and dead.
Yes, Julian had spent the whole night watching over Kierra.
A few minutes later, Julian called.
"Where are you now?"
"I'm at the hospital."
"Hospital? Well, good. I am at the hospital too. Come to the VIP room. Now."
With that, he hung up.
Ten minutes later, I appeared at the door.
I was in my hospital gown, and I felt weak.
"You are sick? Why didn't you call?" Julian frowned, looking at me.
"I'm OK. I can take care of myself."
"Aria, are you just trying to make me mad?"
Then, the pups ran out.
Issac froze when he saw me.
"Mommy... are you sick?"
Lara stood frozen, her eyes turning red.
"Mommy... why are you in the hospital too? Did my curse come true? No... I didn't mean it..."
"Thanks to you, I am sick, but still breathing."
The pups began to cry.
"Issac, Lara, what happened?" Kierra came to the door.
But she lost her balance and fell toward the floor.
"Kierra!"
The pups gasped.
They let go of my hand and rushed to Kierra.
Julian quickly caught her in his arms.
"You are sick, just stay in bed!" Julian held her tightly.
"I'm fine... I was just worried about Issac and Lara."
Kierra leaned against his chest.
"Aria, you're here too? I thought you were with that man last night..."
Julian stared sharply at me.
"You were with a man?"
"And, why were there herbs in your pajamas?"
"Yes! Mom! Kierra almost died because of it!"
I looked at the "family" hugging together.
"Because of you all."
"You used to say you loved the warm herb smell on me. That's why I put those Healer herbs into every piece of clothing I made for you. They help young pups grow. Alpha Julian, you smelled it countless times in our bed. How can you forget it?"
Julian turned furious.
"No matter what, Kierra got sick because of you. Give the painting your grandfather left you to her. Then, apologize."
My heart skipped a beat.
"What?"
That painting was the only thing left by Lance, my grandfather.
It was priceless, and it was my only link to my family.
Kierra saw it once and told Julian that she wanted it.
"Julian, if Aria likes that painting so much, maybe I'll just borrow it. It's just a painting..."
"That is my grandfather's gift to me, Julian! You have no right to give it away!" I shouted.
"Aria, watch your tone!" Julian roared.
"Mommy, Kierra said we must fix our mistakes!" Issac added. "It's just a painting. Why can't you just give it to her?"
I looked at my son. "Those are my pajamas. Whatever herbs I put in, I did so for me. Why was Kierra wearing them?!"
Issac went silent.
Lara was furious. "I don't care! You tried to poison Kerra! That's it!"
I didn't expect this.
I staggered backward and hit my head against the wall.
Suddenly, a warm little hand grabbed me from behind, holding me steady.
It was Nola.
The little girl blinked at me.
"Daddy said all pups love their mommies the most. So, don't be mad, they are just trying to protect their mommy."
I smiled bitterly. "Well, Nola, I am their mommy."
"What? Why?" Nola looked shocked.
Lara felt embarrassed.
She screamed and rushed forward to hit Nola.
I caught Lara's arm tightly. "Lara! What's the matter with you?!"
Lara began to cry loudly. "Mommy! You don't help me! You don't love me at all!"
Nola said bluntly, "But you helped that woman. She stole your mommy's pajamas. Do you love your mommy?"
"Shut up!" Lara shouted hysterically.
Issac yelled, "Kierra got sick because she wore Mom's clothes! So, it is Mom's fault!"
Nola asked, "So, did she force her to wear them?"
"No... Kierra wanted to wear them herself," Issac said.
Kierra froze, quickly turning her face away.
"Enough!" Julian let out a deafening Alpha roar and stared fiercely at me.
The Third Person's POVWhether Julian did it or not, Aria didn't care about it anymore....Kierra was losing her mind.Inside her private trailer on the movie set, she shattered her glass against the floor."What the hell do I pay you guys for?!" Kierra shrieked at her PR team, her long manicured nails digging into the wooden surface of her vanity."You've had dinners with the executives from Moonlight Co., and for what? Absolutely nothing! Now they are out there publicly clearing Aria's name! They must be a bunch of idiots!"Her manager's face was grim.He glanced nervously toward the trailer door. "Kierra, watch your tone! Someone might hear you. We've already done some digging. They didn't just defend Aria. They've also decided on their global brand ambassador."Kierra's eyes snapped wide open, her chest heaving. "What? Who is it?!""It's Elena.""Elena?!" Kierra sprang to her feet, her breathing turned shallow. Her wolf scratched restlessly beneath her skin in sheer jealousy."Th
Aria's POVHer words left me completely stunned.A strange, warm sensation blossomed deep within my chest. My wolf slowly stopped her restless pacing, letting out a soft chuff.I swallowed the lump in my throat and forced my voice to remain steady."Thank you."Before ending the call, I made a firm promise, "I won't let Moonlight Co. down."The official interview was scheduled for three days later. To ensure everything went well, someone from their brand's PR team came over that afternoon.I took the list and prepared the questions they had prepared for me.With Moonlight Co.'s powerful backing, the tide on the internet began to turn. Most of the malicious allegations were gone.In return, I was determined to do my best on the interview. But amidst the triumph, I knew I had loose ends to tie.I made a mental note to head back to Julian's estate after work. I needed to retrieve my official Mate Bond certificate. If the situation escalated any further, that silver-stamped document would
Aria's POVThe crowd of fans scattered in panic as the guards chased them down the block. The head of security walked back over to me."Are you alright? Shall we take you to the hospital?"I forced a grateful smile. "Thanks, but I'm OK. Well, these people are irrational, and they may come back again. If they do, please let me know in advance."He nodded. "We will double our patrol shifts. This won't happen again. Next time you need to leave the building, just give us a call. We'll escort you to your ride.""Thank you so much. I really appreciate it."Because of this violent ambush, I was late for work.Although Jane warned everyone against gossiping, the air in the office was thick with curiosity. Their eyes were darting toward me the second I walked through the door. After the morning meeting, Livia stood near the exit, her arms crossed."Late on your second day of work?" she sneered, her voice dripping with mockery. "Honestly, if you can't handle the corporate life, maybe you shoul
Aria's POVThe internet had turned into a bloodthirsty colosseum.Every single troll was screaming at me, eagerly waiting to watch me burn.Yet, sitting in the quiet of my living room, I had never felt so strangely, chillingly calm. The wild tempest of my wolf had suddenly settled into a dark, focused stillness.I called Collin."Collin, about my rumors online. Don't let grandpa know it, OK? ""Yeah, sure thing. Don't worry about it," Collin said, his voice laced with anxiety."Aria, this is getting completely out of hand. Let me contact some tech guys. I'll get these trending hashtags scrubbed off the internet right now."I looked at the endless screen of toxic slurs."Thanks, but don't bother," I replied, my voice steady. "They are targeting me. Even if you take down one thread, Kierra's PR team will just fund ten more. They won't stop barking until they get what they want."Collin went silent.Right on cue, Kierra dropped a new update on her social media page.Kierra, "I'm OK, ever
Aria's POVLivia stared at him.She practically pushed her way through the whispering crowd. The cloying scent gave away her frantic excitement and hidden desperation.I let out a soft, mocking scoff.Taking a slow step backward, I willingly cleared the space and let her take center stage.Livia locked her eyes onto the billionaire Alpha. She lowered her voice, dripping it in a thick, seductive purr."So... What do you think?"Livia clearly wasn't gifted in design. But when it came to throwing herself at wealthy men, she seemed to have a terrifying gift.Unfortunately for her, Julian's face darkened until it looked demonic. He glared at Livia as if she were a piece of garbage stuck to his shoe."Who the hell are you?" Julian snarled, his voice a low, terrifying rumble that shook the air. "Move!"Livia's face went completely pale, her glossy lips trembling. But the sheer greed in her eyes kept her rooted to the spot."Please just think about it, Alpha Julian," she pleaded, her pheromon
Aria's POVJulian's name flared brightly on the screen.Ever since I walked out of that hospital room, I had never contacted him again. My wolf bared her fangs in my mind, giving a resentful growl. My pheromones spiked into a bitter chill.Without hesitation, I slid my thumb across the glass and hung up.Whatever he wanted to say to me, I had zero interest in hearing it.An hour later, I wrapped up my work and stepped out of the Silver Star Studio building. As I stepped out of the gate, I noticed a dense crowd gathered near the curb, whispering and pointing.Parked directly under the streetlights was a sleek, jet-black Rolls-Royce.My heart skipped a beat. The heavy, oppressive scent of bitter charcoal and smoke drifted through the air, suffocating the natural smells of the city.Julian.I pulled my coat tighter around my shoulders, ducking my head as I tried to blend into the others."Aria."His voice cut through the ambient noise like a blade. The entire crowd went stiff.Dozens of
Aria's POVLivia looked like she was about to explode. She slammed her notebook shut and stormed out of the conference room.Jane, completely used to Livia's dramatic outbursts, simply rolled her eyes."Don't let her get to you, Aria," Jane said."Livia has been a senior designer with us for quite
