"It's done," Nash said as he gently rubbed my foot. I bit my lower lip harder until I tasted blood and turned my head in another direction, burning in pure rage.

At first, he hurled brutal words that pierced my heart, then he twisted my ankle without a shred of mercy. Now, he spoke in a gentle tone as if none of it had ever happened.

"Try to move your feet now," he instructed. I ignored him, still struggling to believe he had deliberately twisted my injured ankle like that.
