LOGINCHAPTER FIVE
~Ariee~ The guestrooms were bigger than any I have ever seen. When I said the Lycans were better than us in everything, I wasn’t exaggerating. The rooms were unbelievably large and spacious with stylish furniture. The art style was one I haven’t seen before. The wall was littered with all kinds of painting, ranging from abstract art to representational art. “Amazing,” the word left my lips before I even realized it. “Ouuuu! Their beds are really comfortable,” Fiona flopped on the bed with glee. “I didn't think their mattresses would be of the highest quality too. They really deserve to look down on us.” I turned to see her eyes flutter close as she enjoyed the feel of the bed. I gulped, a small tinge of jealous brewing in my chest. There was no need for me to hope to understand what she meant. I would never get the opportunity to test it out. At least not while I'm sharing a room with her. The floor was shining brightly, inviting me into it. It was my place after all. “Is there anything else you need?” A voice suddenly came from behind, startling me. The woman stood before me, her expression betraying nothing of her emotions or thoughts. She was most likely in her early twenties. Petite with short dark hair and an unsettling gaze. She straightened her uniform while waiting for my answer. “Thank you for…” I started speaking when Fiona cut in. “What time is lunch? I'm famished. Also, I'd like a rose scented bath as well. My boxes still need to be unpacked properly so yes, you do have a lot to do.” My jaw dropped for a second. Is she seriously going to start off with that bossy attitude? My attention turned to the maid who did not react in the slightest. It was almost as if Fiona’s attitude did not faze her at all. “Lunch will be ready by 2pm. I’ll unpack your boxes first before preparing the bath or whichever you prefer,” She said. Fiona merely shrugged, giving no response. “I’ll help too,” I offered but before I could even move, Fiona was already speaking again. “Why should you? It’s her job, isn’t it?” She huffed. “Get over here and give me a massage.” I gave the maid an apologetic look even though she didn’t seem bothered in the least about Fiona’s attitude. I let out an inward sigh. Even if she couldn’t make friends with the other ladies, she should at least try to befriend the servants here. They were the heart of this palace and the most reliable information source. ‘ Though I imagine they would want one of their own to win but there was no harm in trying. Fiona stretched across the bed, lying on her back with about three pillows behind her. She was already on her phone, texting someone she probably didn’t like. I could tell from the scowl on her face. It was literally screaming ‘why-the-fuck-is-this-loser-talking-to-me? I knelt by the edge of bed, knowing fully well she would get irritated if I tried to sit on her bed. I picked her foot gently to massage but she snatched it harshly from me. “Are you stupid?” She hissed. “Are you planning to use those dry rough hands of yours on my delicate skin?” There was really no need to emphasis on the delicate but okay. I bowed my head in apology. “I’ll grab the oils from your luggage and…” “There’s no need,” she cut me short and I blinked. What now? Can she not confuse me so much? “White Coast should have better products, right? Get one for me, I’m curious to try it,” she said simply like the oil shop was just outside the room. For a second, I stared at her like a fool. Her face scrunched in annoyance and I blinked. “But my lady, we just got here and I… I don’t know anywhere,” I started. “Maybe I should check the bathroom first, they might have…” “Ariee,” she cut in and the words hung in my throat. “Take my card and go get me some massage oil. I don’t care if they have hundreds in their bathroom, just do as you are told.” It was pointless arguing. Fiona always got her way. Without any further argument, I picked up the purse that was lying by the bed side drawer and took out her card. Outside the room, I shot the door behind me and stood in the middle of the hallway. What was I supposed to do now? I stared at the empty halway unsure of where to go. “Maybe I'll just keep walking until I find the maids. They should be of help,” I muttered. I dragged my feet down the hall, listening for footsteps or any sounds at all, but it was dead silent. The rooms must be soundproof. There was no way these many rooms could be empty. Just as I was about to turn the corner, I heard voices. Two of them. “Don’t you think there’s something strange about this year’s selection?” One of them said. My ears twitched and I paused in my tracks. “Lycans and werewolves don’t mix. We are way more superior to them yet the arrogance these women carry is off the charts. They must really think they have what it takes.” My lips twitched a little. Well, it’s not exactly a lie, but for their own interest, they should probably not let anyone hear this. I was about to shun the idle gossip and approach them to ask for directions when a second voice followed. “If you are so displeased about it, maybe you should file a complaint or better still, confront the King himself. He was the one who created the slot for them afterall.” The sarcastic response almost made me chuckle but it was short-lived as her next words sent chills down my spine. “I personally don’t care about a bunch of were brats participating. What bothers me is that the King went down himself to see them. In the previous selections, none of the Kings met the candidates beforehand but in this case, he went straight to them, didn't even bother to take a look at our women,” the second voice fell into a bewildered tone. “Almost like he was expecting someone.” My heart skipped a beat. Expecting someone? “Well, he barely stayed for two minutes, so we can assume he didn’t find who he was looking for.” I staggered back. This is not what it sounds like right? It's just me overthinking everything as always right? “What are you doing snooping around, wolf?” I jumped in fright as the questioned popped behind me.Chapter sixty-eight~Ariee~My steps slowed as we approached the car. The chauffeur was already holding open the door for him. I wasn't sure what I was supposed to do. Entering the same car as the king would be a very audacious move that could cost my head.King Kaiziah finally reached the car but I stopped halfway, watching him walk off. The guards bowed in greeting and he turned to his side, expecting to see me.“Insect?” He turned with a frown and I scurried ahead. I stopped beside him, waiting for further instructions. “Do you expect me to carry you in?”“You want me to go in?” I blurted like a complete idiot. His eyes narrowed and I scurried in quickly, dragging in my dress with me. The chauffeur shut the door and quickly hurried to open the other side for him.My mind was in a frenzy. Did I just get princess treatment? I know it’s too early to conclude but that’s how it starts right? The King joined me before I could gather my thoughts. I felt my gaze on my fingers, mentally cou
Chapter Sixty-Seven~Ariee~For a second, everything inside me went quiet. Then it shattered.I stood there, staring at the closed door like if I looked hard enough, reality would rearrange itself into something less ugly. My chest felt strange— tight and empty at the same time. The laughter inside continued, soft and playful, and every sound felt like someone pressing bruises I didn’t know I still had. My fingers curled against my dress. I had spent the entire walk imagining stupid things. Imagining him looking at me and smiling. Imagining him saying I looked beautiful. Imagining him taking one look at me and asking me on a date. God. I felt ridiculous. I remembered standing in another room, another time, dressed up and hopeful, only to watch someone I loved choose another woman right in front of me. Back then, I told myself I would never let myself become that girl again. Yet here I was. Again. Waiting outside a man's door while another woman laughed inside. My throat burned. I
Chapter Sixty-Six~Ariee~“Is there a particular reason you are insisting I see the king tonight?” I asked Leah. The three of us—me, Leah and Lady Seraphine—had just returned fromm shopping. Despite my protests, Leah got me some of the most expensive wears. Even the casual ones she said I was supposed to wear around the palace didn’t seem so casual. If Fiona saw me in them, she would choke me with questions until I eventually spilled the beans and when I do, I would certainly get an earful. “Have you see yourself?” Leah exclaimed, pushing me infornt of the mirror like I was just plain stupid. “Look at you!”My eyes darted to the mirror like I didn’t already know what I looked like. I had lost a little weight from running around for Fiona all the time but my curves were still glaring. I was in a single strap pink dress to match the colourful makeup on my face. It looked so good that even if this was the umpteenth time of seeing myself in the mirror, I was still amazed. “If the ki
Chapter Sixty-Five~Ariee~Several minutes later, my heart was still pounding. Several questions ran through my mind but I couldn't produce a single answer for any of them. Most importantly, I desperately wanted to know how the hell she knew I was into the king. “What do you mean?” I asked and she chuckled. “Come on, there's no need to be shy. It's okay to a little greedy once in a while,” she winked. There was nothing funny about that. This woman was either stalking me or she had eyes everywhere in the palace. I made the mistake of underestimating her. “So tell me Ariee. What will it be?” She asked again. I couldn't answer. I knew having the king was a pipe dream so picking Fiona shouldn't be hard. Yet, the what ifs kept me silent. My mind was racing with possibilities I have never even considered before. “Don't be in such a rush, Leah. Give her some time to think,” Lady Seraphine came to my rescue. I gaped at her makeup. It was blue themed to match her hair and outfit. I was
Chapter Sixty-Four~Ariee~Inhale. Exhale.I got ready to knock when the door opened on it's own. Lady Seraphina stood before and I staggered back in shock, taking in her appearance. Her hair… was blue!I pinched myself, refusing to believe my eyes for a second but all I felt was pain and the hair was still the same. Straightened. Light blue. And pretty much the same colour as her dress. “What is it? You look like you've seen a ghost,” she snickered, making way for me to come in. “Leah is inside. Fix that face, okay?”I nodded quickly. Inside her room was what I would describe as every girl’s dream room. Fiona hadn’t done anything to her space, so I didn’t even realize redecorating the room was an option for the candidates. Soft curtains draped over the windows, allowing golden sunlight to spill into the room. Fresh flowers sat in crystal vases. Plush rugs covered the floor, and the walls were decorated with paintings of oceans and skies. Everything felt warm. Lived in.It felt
Chapter Sixty-three ~Fiona~ “We need to do something about that woman, Alpha. She knows we are sleeping together and is threatening to expose me,” I said impatiently. Alpha Damon didn’t look even remotely worried. “Would you like some lemon tea?” He asked instead, like he hadn’t heard a word of everything I just said. He didn’t wait for my response and ordered his servants to pour me tea. I waited for a full minute, just to see if he would say anything but he just picked up his mug to sip his tea. My foot was practically tapping impatiently under the table. “Won’t you say anything?” I asked. His eyes flickered to me. “And what are you hoping to hear?” “That you will do something about her, ofcourse! We made a deal that you will help me attend the position of Queen. If she gets me disqualified, this will all be for nothing,” I stated. He took another sip of his tea and my blood boiled. Is he trying to get on my nerves? Because it’s working. I had everything to loose and he
Chapter Sixty-One~Ariee~I lay on the grass, gently massaging my jaw. My whole mouth hurt from blowing Eldren. I knew he was too big to fit, yet hearing him groan in pleasure, pushed me to take more and more of him.He took full advantage of it, of course and fucked my mouth so deep that I felt hi
Chapter 53~Ariee~Fiona rolled to the side, further away from. I held my breath, waiting for her to sit up and catch me in the act but after a few seconds of readjusting to her new position, she continued sleeping.I didn't have time to feel relieved because my legs were spread apart and Eldren we
Chapter fifty-two~Ariee~The knock on the door saved me at that moment. “Lady Fiona? Ariee? Are you in there?” Zee’s voice echoed from outside the door. I scrambled to my feet, grateful to the universe for giving me an opportunity to escape. I was ready to bolt to the door and usher her in when
Chapter Thirty-Five~Ariee~The cold night air brushed against my skin as I stared at the night sky. Lying in the grass was way more comfy than I imagined. A satisfied hum rumbled beside me and I turned to wolf sprawled next to me. A tinge of jealousy prickled my chest. I wonder what it feels lik
