🖤 Jacob 🖤

“The pregnancy has been confirmed boss, President Alexandra Fisher Hale is pregnant.”

The moment those words left Timmy’s mouth, I didn’t even try to hide the smile that slowly spread across my face.

Finally.

After all these years of planning, watching, waiting, calculating every single move like a chess game where I could not afford to lose, everything had finally fallen into place.

“Bingo,” I muttered under my breath, leaning back in my chair as I let the satisfaction sink in. “The fish has been caught in my net.”

I tapped my fingers lightly against the armrest, my mind already ten steps ahead, already seeing how this would play out. Alexandra Fisher Hale… the untouchable queen, the woman who controlled everything around her like the world was just another business deal…

Yeah.

Let’s see how she handles this.

“Spread the news,” I said calmly, like I was ordering lunch and not about to flip her entire life upside down.

Timmy blinked.

“Boss?”

I turned my head slightly and looked at him, my expression relaxed but my eyes sharp enough to remind him exactly who he was talking to.

“Make sure the whole world knows,” I continued slowly, every word deliberate, “that the queen of the business world and the ruler of the underworld is pregnant.”

I paused just long enough for it to sink in.

“And that she is getting married to Jacob Grey.”

Silence.

Beautiful, confused silence.

Timmy just stood there staring at me like I had just told him the sky was green.

“Married… boss?” he finally asked, his voice uncertain. “She doesn’t even know how the pregnancy came about… and the fact that it’s yours…”

That was as far as he got.

Because I looked at him.

Not even angry.

Just… looked.

And that was enough.

“I don’t remember asking for your opinion, Timmy,” I said, my voice calm, almost bored, but there was something underneath it that made the air in the room feel heavier. “I gave you an order.”

He swallowed immediately.

“Apologies, boss.”

Good.

At least he learns fast.

He turned and walked out without another word, the door closing softly behind him, leaving me alone with my thoughts.

And honestly?

That was exactly how I liked it.

I leaned forward slightly, resting my elbows on my desk as I let out a quiet breath, my lips curling into a slow smirk.

“Alexandra Fisher Hale…”

I said her name like I was tasting it.

“Let’s see how you get out of this.”

Because I knew her.

Better than she would ever admit.

Better than anyone else.

She hated losing.

Not just hated… she refused it.

Money, power, influence, control… she held onto everything like her life depended on it, and maybe it did. She would burn down an entire system before she let a single dollar slip through her fingers. She would destroy people without blinking if they stood between her and what she wanted.

And now?

Now I had placed her in a position where every option came with a cost.

If she denies the pregnancy, she looks unstable.

If she accepts it, the question becomes who the father is.

If she refuses the marriage, the media will tear her apart, her shares will drop, investors will panic, and her perfect image will crack.

And if she accepts the marriage…

I win.

Simple and perfect just as planed.

I leaned back again, letting out a low chuckle as I ran a hand through my hair.

“You always loved control, Alexandra,” I murmured to myself. “Let’s see how you handle losing it.”

For a moment, my eyes drifted toward the window, but I wasn’t really seeing the city outside.

I remember the first time I meet her eighteen years ago in business school.

Everyone was loud, trying too hard, showing off, acting like they already owned the world when in reality they didn’t even understand it yet.

And then there was her. Sitting in the front row like the entire room bored her already.

No fake smiles.

No unnecessary conversations.

No interest in impressing anyone.

She had this look on her face like she had already calculated everyone’s worth and found most of them lacking.

Including me.

That was the first thing that caught my attention. Not her beauty, even though yeah, she had that too.

It was the fact that she didn’t care.

Not about me.

Not about anyone.

And for some reason, that annoyed me more than it should have. I still remember the first time I spoke to her.

Group project.

I approached her with a plan, a solid one, something anyone else would have accepted immediately.

She listened.

Didn’t interrupt.

Didn’t react.

Then when I finished, she looked at me and said,

“That’s inefficient.”

Just like that with no explanation.

Then she took my entire idea apart in less than two minutes and rebuilt it into something better.

Smarter.

More profitable.

And when she was done, she didn’t even wait for my reaction. She just picked up her things and walked away like the conversation was over.

I should have been annoyed.

I should have hated her.

But instead…

I was impressed.

No.

That’s not the right word.

I was intrigued.

Because for the first time, I had met someone who wasn’t trying to win people over.

She was trying to win.

And she did. Every single time.

Top of the class. Top of every project.

Emotionless.

And completely focused. She didn’t build relationships. She built power.

And somehow… somewhere in between watching her ignore everyone, watching her walk through life like feelings were optional and weakness was unacceptable…

I fell.

Not the soft kind of falling people talk about in those stupid love stories.

No.

This was different.

Because I didn’t just want her. I wanted to understand her. To break through that wall she built around herself. To be the one person she couldn’t ignore.

But she never gave me that chance. No matter what I did. No matter how close I got.

She always stayed just out of reach.

Always focused, distant… and untouchable.

Until now.

A slow smile spread across my face as I picked up my phone, scrolling through the notifications already coming in.

The news was spreading fast.

Faster than I expected.

Good.

Let the world talk.

Let them speculate.

Let them drag her name into every headline and every conversation.

Because the more this spreads…

The less room she has to escape.

I leaned back in my chair again, closing my eyes for a brief second as I imagined her reaction.

The confusion.

The anger. That sharp look in her eyes when she realizes something is wrong.

Yeah.

I know her. She’s not going to sit quietly and accept this. She’s going to fight. She’s going to dig. She’s going to try to tear this whole thing apart.

And honestly?

I wouldn’t expect anything less. That’s exactly why I chose her.

My eyes opened slowly, my gaze settling on the city again, but this time there was a certain calmness in me.

Because no matter what she does next… She’s already in the game.

And I’m already ahead.

“Welcome to the trap, Alexandra,” I murmured softly.

“This time… you don’t get to walk away.”

🖤 Jacob 🖤The second Jack’s “Understood, boss” landed in the air between us, something else landed right alongside it something I hadn’t let myself think about until exactly this moment, maybe because the Grey family revelation had shoved everything else clean out of my head the moment it hit.I stood there with my jacket half on and my car keys in my hand, and let the full shape of what I was now holding settle into place. My grandparents. My parents. All of them, apparently, moving freely through the world while I’d spent five years visiting an empty stage set and believing I was maintaining a relationship and even felt guilty for keeping g them there. All of them knowing exactly where Stella was and what she was doing and choosing, month after month after careful month, to perform confusion and frailty for my benefit while she used everything the Grey name had ever stood for to build something I hadn’t even known existed until last week. And they were just out there. Right now. S

🖤 Jacob 🖤One full week. Seven days of round-the-clock digging, seven days of Jack and my new team running down every lead, every shell company, every ghost address that Stella’s name had ever been attached to and nothing. She was everywhere in the paperwork and nowhere in the world. The woman had built herself a life so thoroughly off the visible grid that even people whose entire profession was finding the unfindable were coming back empty-handed.The fake Stella in Lex’s custody still hadn’t woken up. Which meant the one person physically within our reach, the one person who could theoretically give us a room number, a city, a single concrete detail about where the real Stella was operating from, was still lying in a hospital bed doing absolutely nothing useful for anyone.I’d spent the week at the Airbnb Jack had extended indefinitely, working through files during the day and driving to see the kids every evening, which was the only part of any given twenty-four hours that felt

🖤 Jacob 🖤She took my home from me.I’d said it to Lex on the phone before I fully understood how true it was, and now, sitting alone in an Airbnb that wasn’t mine with a folder full of my father’s betrayal still open on the table in front of me, I understood it completely.Stella hadn’t just dismantled the Grey family business. She’d used the Fisher-Hale family’s own power to do it Lex’s family, the family I’d married into, the family I’d loved enough to lose everything else for. My sister had reached across two empires, turned one against the other, and walked away with the only thing that actually mattered to her: control of everything both families had spent generations building. This shit is till unbelievable, how did she plan this? And what if my father being involved is also a lie? God I don’t even know what to believe anymore.I sat back in the cheap kitchen chair and pressed the heels of my hands against my eyes until colored static bloomed behind them.Five years of belie

🖤 Alexandra 🖤Stella is a pure evil genius. I have to give her that much, even sitting here furious enough to put my fist through a wall. How does one woman play this many people her own family included, and make every single move look like grief, like coincidence, like bad luck, instead of what it actually was?I walked out of Papa’s office with the entire sack of files he’d handed me, and instead of going to my room, I went straight to my own office down the hall the one I’d had set up here since I was a teenager, separate from the basement office downtown, because some habits of needing my own space to think had started long before I ever needed an empire to run.I didn’t know what to believe anymore. That was the part sitting heaviest in my chest as I shut the door behind me. I’d walked into that basement hours ago thinking I had Stella in custody, thinking I was back in control of something after five years of feeling like I’d lost my grip on all of it. Now I understood that th

🖤 Alexandra 🖤“Hi, Papa,” I greeted, walking into his home office after making sure my babies were tucked in bed, safe, sleeping, alive in a way that had felt impossible just hours earlier today.“I was told you went back to work,” Papa said, smiling without looking up from the files spread across his desk, the lamp light catching the silver at his temples in a way that made him look older than he had the last time I’d sat in this room.“And I was surprised by how much I missed that lifestyle,” I responded, taking the seat across from him, the same worn leather chair I used to sit in as a teenager waiting to be told I was too young to understand half of what was happening around me.He looked up then, something soft and a little sad moving behind his eyes. “You sound like my Jay right now. Sometimes he wanted something so badly, and still chose the safe option most times, for the sake of the people around him.”I felt the familiar ache settle into my chest not sharp anymore, not the

🖤 Jacob 🖤There’s another Jacob Grey.I sat with that sentence the entire drive back from the basement, turning it over and over like a stone I couldn’t get a clean grip on. What the hell was actually going on. I didn’t even understand the shape of the plot I was supposedly living inside anymore, five years of running from a danger I thought I understood, and tonight alone had already rewritten the rules of it twice.“Hmm. Lex, can I ask you something?” I said, turning to look her directly in the eye once we were back in the car, because if I was going to start pulling at threads, I wanted to watch her face while I did it.“Ask away,” she said.“Five years ago,” I said slowly, “was your family the only one responsible for the Grey family’s downfall? Or did you have help from the inside. Someone close to me.”She didn’t flinch, didn’t look away, just considered the question with the same level focus she gave everything tonight. “I genuinely didn’t have anything to do with your family
