LOGINOlivia POV:
We were in last period already, field practice. It was one of my favorite subjects because it was the only place where I could take out my pent up rage and not be judged for it not being lady like. "Olivia," smiled Micheal, I noticed Kathy snap a spear as he approached me, "what's up?" I asked as I eyed her, "are you two fighting?" He looked over his shoulder at her and rolled his eyes, "she's being a bitch today!" He grabbed a spear and handed it to me, "today you demonstrate sparring with me," he said, his smile returning. I nodded, "don't expect me to take it easy on your ass!" He smirked at me, "I don't expect you too because I won't be taking it easy on your sweet little ass!" I rolled my eyes at him as we got into position and circled each other.
My eyes were scanning his every move, taking it all in. There was always a weak point and a good warrior knew that it was always best to exploit that in a battle. I watched as he lunged toward me, I blocked with my spear, pushing him off. He growled again and smirked as we continued to circling each other, he did the same thing again and this time I blocked and spun, hitting him behind the knees with my spear. He grimaced but did not fall forward like I would of hoped. "You're going to have to do better than that Olivia!" My hair was tied high so it wouldn't get in the way, I went back to watching, this time, I decided to lunge forward with an attack, swinging myself away from his spear as I did to catch him off guard but it didn't work, he stepped back and blocked me, throwing me backwards. I tumbled and rolled before I got back up and grabbed my spear again, "A walk in the park," he teased and it was my turn to growl, I lunged forward again and he grabbed my spear as I grabbed his, we both twisted, trying to disarm the other but causing both our spears to go flying. "I guess we should get those," he mused, "no," I smirked deviously, "let's pretend this is a real fight," his one eye brow shot up, "are you sure?" He asked as he got into his stance, "I'd hate to kick that pretty little ass again," I rolled my eyes at him, "you wish." He smirked at that and threw a punch which I dodged, hitting him in the stomach, he stumbled back but lunged forward again, I slid to the floor and swiped his feet with my leg causing him to fall on his back. "You okay sweetie pie?" I mocked and he growled as he pushed himself up and ran towards me, he made to tackle me down but I swung myself over on to his back forcing him face down into the dirt. "Should I make it a little easier for you?" I teased, he grabbed my upper thigh, catching me off guard as he rolled himself on top of me and pinned me down, one hand firmly on my thigh and the other pinning down my arm, I reached up with my free hand trying to grab his throat but he pressed down more of his body weight on me, leaning closer into me. "Told you I was taking it easy on you!" He growled as a smirk spread across his face, I rolled my eyes.
He pushed himself off and looked around at the class that we both had forgotten were there, "now class, you've learned a lot of do's and don'ts from Olivia today but one thing all you petite sweethearts need to remember, your strength is your agility and stamina," he looked at everyone as he said this, "the moment you let the heavier person get the upper hand it's over, so let's remember not to be too cocky!" He smiled as he aimed the last bit at me, I rolled my eyes and went over to the weights. Everyone started chattering again and joined up with their partners to train with spears.
"Olivia!" Called Micheal as he approached, "what?" I called back annoyed, "don't be a sore loser!" He teased and I narrowed my eyes at him and shook my head, "maybe you're a sore winner Micheal," I grabbed the rope attached the the truck tire and swung it over my shoulder as I started to pull. "Hey!" He touched my bare shoulder affectionately, "don't be so hard on yourself," I gave him a half smile as I returned to my weight training and he jogged off to aid other students in their spear training.
Damien POV: For three days, I had received side eye glances from Dahlia and not a peep from Arla. It was the same routine every time we stopped to make camp. Dahlia would set up camp, I would check the perimeter and Arla would ward the perimeter. I have no idea if her praying worked, but we didn't encounter any threats to prove otherwise. For three days we took turns taking watch and Arla said nothing to me, maybe she decided that it would be better to not speak at all? I don't know, I never understand her anyway and to try and get into her head would just be a migraine. "It's my watch," she said, her voice cutting through my thoughts like a blade against a whet stone. I cleared my throat, trying to swallow the dryness before I had to speak. "Yeah, uhm—" I stood up and stretched my arms over my head as I pulled at the tightness in my back. "Just get some rest, tomorrow we arrive at your pack." A pang of guilt struck my gut and my mouth went dry, "yes, the pack. Are we going to talk
Olivia POV: I followed the brooding Elouan into a hall filled with music and candle light. People were dancing together in a movement that flowed like a wave riding the notes of the instruments. I stared at Elouan's shirt, the coarse material I could almost feel, that tempted me to rub the material between my thumb and forefinger. "Would you like something to drink?" He turned to me, catching me off guard, I nodded my head silently and he left my side. I stood anxiously, feeling within and without of the crowd; easy to blend it and yet I still felt out of place. I closed my eyes and pressed my back against the cool slate wall, focusing on the physical feeling of the cold biting into my skin. "Your drink," he said and I opened my eyes to stare in his dark orbs, I reached for the glass, our fingers brushing and he shivered. "That was quick," I said taking the glass from him and bringing it to my lips. He said nothing, and stood beside me, the coarse material of his shirt brushing agai
Olivia POV: My eyes opened and I remembered everything. And more importantly, I realized everything, what the pain was, why my wolf died, everything. Silent tears leaked from the corners of my eyes as I stared at the ceiling, my jaw clenched, refusing to allow myself to crash to the ground screaming and crying. This is it. Mated, unmated, wolf, vampire, murderer and alone. I stared at the white ceiling, trying to focus on the tiny lines engraved for design purposes. "You're awake," came a voice and I rolled away from him, brushing my face into the pillow to hide my tears, "what do you want?" I asked, refusing to look at him. "I just came to check in on you, your last three meals have been returned to the kitchen and you were given sanctuary and so I have to—" I cut him off, "leave Elouan," I said, and he went quiet, "I know you are still there." I didn't want to look at the third man that had entered my life and turned it upside down. "There's a dance tonight," he said, his voice so
Damien POV: I watched her smile, her hair braided and slung over her right shoulder to display the crescent moon mark that had formed from our mating ritual. Other priestesses offered her blessings and hugs with tears in their eyes. It was clear she was beloved, but I couldn't accept what had happened. Her eyes dragged to mine with that love struck smile pasted on her face, but her eyes shadowed as she looked at me. My wolf howled in pain sensing the tension between us and I turned to busy myself with the packs, letting my mind wander back to last night. "He will accept me, we will accept each other." Her words were confident and straightforward— no arguing. She walked towards me with the grace of a predator and stared into my eyes. Her own soft dark eyes mirrored something else, maybe my own dark feelings as she moved her hair to the side revealing her unmarked skin. "I accept you." She said, her words straight forward and my wolf took over as the bond tightened like a physical b
Damien POV:My body swayed from where I was sitting, the wine was sweet and the other priestesses danced around the sensual flames that caused beads of sweat to drip down my neck. I brought my cup to my lips again, my eyes fixed to the copper skinned dancer, her body looked like it belonged to the flames. "Damien," said Dahlia sitting down next to me, I turned regrettably to face my sister, peeling my eyes away from the temptress before me. "What's up?" I said, trying to act casual, "we need to return to our own pack." I noticed her fingers fidgeting slightly with her white dress. "Why?" I asked, keeping my eyes focused on her. "It's the pack, it's in trouble. Dimitri," she took a deep breath and grabbed my cup before taking a deep drink, her cheeks and neck blushing. "I assume this is probably your first time drinking." She smiled sheepishly, "anyway, what were you saying?" I prompted, and she nodded, "Dimitri is going to destroy the pack." She sat my cup down, and I swallowed, my ey
Dimitri POV: "My lord," greeted a guard as he bowed his head, "we are glad for your return." I nodded, "shall I send for the servants?" He asked in his cool voice, "no," I said as I looked at the gardened palace next to my own home. "I think I won't be returning until early." I made my way through the rose brimmed garden to the stone walls of my harem. I wanted— needed a release. I walked through the iron gates that were draped with dark green vines that blossomed with purple flowers, the sweet scent gushing through my nostrils as I push open the heavy gates. Immediately I am met with the sounds of rustling fabric as four women appear. "Mereen, Gia, Ashlyn and Sina." I greeted them, and they bowed their heads, the gold band around their upper arms, glinting with the large ruby encrusted into it. "My lord," cooed Mereen, "it has been so long." The others mirrored her words with their head bowed. I glanced at all of them. Mereen with her midnight black hair, sensual lips and ample bre
Damien POV:My body was on fire. I was writhing in pain and screaming. My mother was first through the door, she slid onto her knees. Trying to hold my head in her lap as tears streamed down her face. Her touch was like hell-fire on my skin. "Damien, look at me," She sobbed, "We can fix this!" Her
Olivia POV:I was sitting in English literature when the class room door banged open and everyone turned as they all jumped a little from the unusual abruptness to our usual lazy class atmosphere. "Olivia!" Exclaimed Damien and everyone slowly turned their heads to look at me, "yes," I breathed out
Olivia POV:I was spent. Wrapped up in Damien's clothes, he carried me back to our house. My anxiety increased as we got closer because the lights were still on and I couldn't remember if they were always left on or if tonight she was sitting and waiting. She would know when she saw us. Clearly, sh
Damien POV:I pulled her into me and her legs wrapped around me in the water. I didn't even think she noticed as her arms were tangled around my neck, her breasts pressed into my chest. She was kissing me. She wanted me as much as I wanted her. I carried her out of the water and laid her down on ou
