I spent the entire night sitting by the window, watching darkness slowly give way to the first light of dawn.

Every time I closed my eyes, I saw Scarlett standing in front of me with tears running down her face.

“I told them everything.”

Those words refused to leave my mind.

The betrayal still hurt.

It probably would for a long tim but as the hours passed, something else became clearer.

The championship was only a few days away.

Chapter teScarletts PovI barely slept.Every time I closed my eyes, I heard Gomez’s voice again.“Everything is going exactly as planned.”“He doesn’t suspect anything.”“As long as he keeps believing me, she won’t have a chance.”Those words refused to leave my mind.I turned onto my side and stared at the window until the first rays of sunlight slipped into my room.By morning, I had made up my mind.I couldn’t keep this to myself. If Gomez was planning something, Ryan deserved to know.Even if he didn’t believe me…At least I would have tried. After getting dressed, I walked downstairs. The mansion was already awake.Servants moved from one room to another, preparing breakfast and carrying fresh flowers through the hallways.I looked around for Ryan.He wasn’t in the dining room. One of the maids noticed me.“Miss Scarlett.”I smiled politely.“Have you seen Ryan?”“The young master is in his study.”“Thank you.”I made my way upstairs. The closer I came to his study, the faster

Chapter 53 Scarlett's POVSleep refused to come.No matter how many times I closed my eyes, my mind refused to become quiet.Ryan had promised he would come back.He always meant what he said.I knew that.Still… The empty hours had hurt more than I wanted to admit. With a quiet sigh, I pushed the blanket aside and climbed out of bed.“Maybe a glass of water will help,” I whispered to myself. The hallway outside my room was almost silent.Only a few lights remained on, leaving the long corridor covered in a soft golden glow.I walked slowly toward the staircase.Just as I passed Gomez’s room, a voice drifted through the half-open door.I stopped without thinking.n“…Everything is going exactly as planned.”I frowned.Someone else answered through the phone, but I couldn’t make out the words.Gomez spoke again.“No… he doesn’t suspect anything.”A short silence followed. Then she laughed quietly..“Just be patient.”Something about her voice made my stomach tighten.I remained frozen w

Chapter 52Scarlett's POVRyan drove back to the mansion much faster than he had driven into town.Neither of us spoke during the journey. The cheerful mood we had shared only a short while ago had disappeared completely.I sat quietly in the passenger seat, my hands resting on the new hockey grip Ryan had bought for me.Every now and then, I glanced at him.His eyes never left the road. His face remained calm, but I could tell he was worried. As soon as the car stopped in front of the mansion, Ryan stepped out.I followed him without wasting another second. The front door was already open.Several servants stood in the entrance hall with anxious expressions. The head maid hurried toward us the moment she saw Ryan. “Young Master.”Ryan stopped..“How is she?”The maid lowered her voice. “The doctor is with her.”Ryan gave a short nod before walking into the living room.I stayed close behind him.The moment I entered the room, I looked around.Gomez was sitting on the sofa with a blank

Scarlett's POVThe morning sunlight poured through my bedroom window long before I was ready to get out of bed.I lay there for several minutes, staring at the ceiling.Yesterday kept replaying inside my mind.Ryan had promised he would come back.I knew he hadn’t forgotten me on purpose.Even so…Waiting for someone only to realize hours had passed was never a pleasant feeling.I sighed quietly before climbing out of bed. There was no reason to let one afternoon ruin today. After getting dressed, I made my way downstairs. The mansion was already busy.Several servants moved through the hallways, carrying fresh flowers and trays of breakfast. As I reached the last step, I heard familiar footsteps.I looked up.Ryan was walking toward me.The moment he saw me, he stopped.“Good morning.”I smiled politely. “Good morning.”For a second, neither of us spoke. Then Ryan looked at me carefully.“I owe you an apology.”I blinked.n“You do?”“I said I’d come back.” His voice remained calm. “I d

Chapter 50Scarlett's POVThe next few days passed more quietly than I expected.Nothing dramatic happened, nobody argued, nobody raised their voice. The mansion remained as peaceful as it had always been. And yet… Something had changed.Ryan was still the same Ryan I knew.He still greeted me every morning with a quiet smile. He still reminded me to eat whenever I skipped a meal.Whenever we crossed paths in the hallway, he always stopped to ask how my training had gone.He wasn’t avoiding me, he wasn’t treating me differently. If anything, he was trying very hard to make sure I didn’t feel left out.But somehow…We no longer had the same amount of time together.Every day, someone seemed to need him. Most of the time…That someone was Gomez. She had only been living in the mansion for a few days, yet there always seemed to be something she needed.Sometimes she couldn’t find a room.Sometimes she wanted to ask about the pack.Sometimes she needed help understanding where something w
