MasukVladimir did not give Ivy any opportunity to respond.
The moment he voiced out her options, he turned around, and walked out of the room. As he closed the door behind him, the spell that had pushed Ivy into a trance, broke. “The nerve of that blonde man! How can he– how dare he– who does he think he– I can't eat Grandma's liver!” She concluded with a shriek. Although she didn't understand this nightmare, because what else could it be described as? What would one call going all their life believing one thing, only to be smacked in the face by an opposing thing? She didn't understand what was happening, but she knew for sure she couldn't live with the knowledge of her beloved grandmother who she always thought would outlive her because of how strong she was, laying in a coffin somewhere. “You can do this Ivy. For grandma.” She gave herself a pep talk. Without waiting for her racing heart to slow its pace, her feet began to move towards the door. Standing in front of it made her hands clammy, but it was stepping out and finding a man waiting for her that made her realise there was no going back now. “Boris Bratva, I will be holding your arms to the altar,” the man said, as he stretched his hand to her to build some sort of quick connection through a handshake. Ivy looked around her first. She saw she was in a hallway that was dimly lit, and her confusion grew. Her gaze returned to the older man with the outstretched hand. “I'll walk on my own, thank you,” she said, averse to the idea of shaking a man's hand. “Oh,” he withdrew his hand. “As you wish.” He stepped beside her, and cued her in towards their direction with a nudge. Ivy, with a heart as heavy as an overfed pig, walked towards her slaughter ground as she described it in her heart. Her eyes were pinned straight ahead, while her head rummaged through bitter thoughts. Extremely lost she was in her thoughts, she didn't realise they had arrived at the entrance of their destination, until she felt a slight brush on her arm. Her reaction was visceral, pushing her gaze towards the man who had touched her, when she thought she made it clear she didn't want that. “We're here,” he quickly divulged. Ivy looked away from him, and her eyes flickered on seeing where they were. A big hall, with an isle that stretched too long, in her opinion. It was almost dark in there, with the candles spread about as the only source of light. Because of how dim it was, only the silhouette of the people seated in the rows of chairs were visible. Ivy dragged her eyes away from the rows, because the silhouettes reminded her too much of one demon she was very familiar with- Millicent. “Is this a wedding ceremony or an occultic initiation?” Ivy wondered, as she began the rigorous long walk towards the altar. There was no music. Not even a whisper. It was dark, silent, and brooding. “A funeral. My bloody funeral!” She panicked in her mind. Whilst her tongue grew bitter, and bitter in taste, Vladimir observed her from the altar. Aligned with the dark, he could see her perfectly. He wasn't too proud to admit when he had been caught off guard. Even on his death bed, his father had ensured he remembered that when the time came, he was to marry the Greene heiress. Naturally, he thought part of the reason why he kept hammering on it was to prepare him for an ogre. He was truly prepared to overlook the physical appearance, and focus on what they could achieve together. Then he saw her, and she stared at him with her big green, expressive eyes. His first thought? “A doll” She looked like a doll that life was breathed into. It was the only way he could describe how breathtakingly beautiful she was. And now she was walking towards him, to become his wife. “Wife,” he thought, very much amused by the word. Ivy finally arrived at the altar, took her position, and halted. She didn't look up. She couldn't bring herself to look at the man that was forcing himself on her, and practically validating her disdain for men. “Dearly beloved–” An unexpected English accent rose through the silence, grabbing Ivy's attention. “Dearly beloved? Definitely a funeral,” she thought. The priest went on and on for about ten minutes, but then he skipped the vow exchange, and proceeded to declare them husband and wife. Silence descended again, only for a table to appear before them. On the table were two documents, and two pens. “Your marriage certificate. Sign here,” the priest ordered. Ivy stepped forward first, just wanting to get this over with. Picking up the pen, she swiftly signed as directed, and stepped back. Impressed by her willingness, Vladimir signed too, and also stepped back. “Well Vlad, by the power vested in me, I present to you your bride. You may kiss her.” Her stomach flipped. He must be joking! She thought. There was no way in hell she was letting a man kiss her. A strange man at that. No way! It was one thing to get married without an explanation. But intimacy? That was impossible. She would die with her grandma first before she– “No need for that. See you at the reception room,” Vladimir said, turned around, and walked away. A scoff hung in Ivy's throat. She couldn't believe how audacious he was. Sure she didn't want to kiss him, but why did he think he could be so dismissive? Who made him the boss that dictated how everything went? She was about to go after him to give him a piece of her mind when someone touched her from behind. Her body spun around, ready to tell them off when her eyes caught the outline she recognised all too well. “Grandma?” She blurted out in a confused tone. “Congratulations, Princess. If I had my way, you wouldn't ever be in this position. But long before I got custody of you, your fate was sealed by your parents. I want to believe they know what is best for you. It breaks my heart, Princess, but there's nothing I can do about it.” “I don't understand, Grandma. Why? What is happening? Please explain it to me. I'm so confused.” She saw her grandma's lips moving, but before the words could truly come out, someone else interrupted. “You've done enough. Your granddaughter is a Bratva now. She must start acting like one,” the feminine voice said through an unfriendly tone. Ivy closed her eyes, and prayed for this nightmare to end. It in fact did not end. How could it, when it was only just the beginning?“Hey, you look cute in that dress,” Yasmin complimented Ivy on walking into the room.Ivy's face flushed, as she lifted her head up from the floor she was staring at, to look at her.“I guess it's yours? Thanks.”“Oh, no. I was going to give you one of mine but your husband requested that some light shopping be done for you. I tell you, he's crazy about you,” she giggled. When Ivy didn't react the way most women in her position would, she ultimately confirmed her suspicions. With a sigh, Yasmin drew closer to her. “I'm guessing I might be a little delusional.”Pity welled in Ivy's heart directed towards her. She wouldn't call her delusional, but she wasn't the one calling names, anyway.“Just out of curiosity, why do you think he's–” she cleared her throat, those words even too heavy to breathe out.“Crazy about you?” Yasmin helped her out.“Yeah, that.”She smiled, and sat beside her. “It's in his eyes. I could very well be reading too much into things, but his eyes when he looks at
Isabella Gambino heard a knock on her door, and ran to open it.“Vla–Andrei?”“Hello pretty,” he gave her a soft smile. “Can I come in?”She quickly stepped back. “Please do.”He walked in, and closed the door behind him.“Where is Vlad? Is he okay?” She asked with concern in her voice.“He's fine, Bells. I just got information from your home, that's why I came.”She hissed indifferently. “I'm not really concerned with what's happening in the ruins. What about Ivy?”“Safe too. She's with Vlad. You know who isn't safe though?”She lifted a curious brow.“Gianni. He's in surgery as we speak, battling for his life. It might not be good news, but your family's whole focus is on him now. There won't be more fights until they know his fate.”“Good,” she said the moment he was done speaking.“Huh?”“Whatever happened that brought him to that state, he deserved it. I know he did. He's a troublemaker.”Andrei smiled. “Then you should know Vladimir brought him to that state. I'm not exactly sur
“Get some rest. You'll feel even better after.” Vladimir turned around to walk away.“Hey.” The words slipped out of her lips before she could stop them.Biting down hard on those same lips that had just uttered that word, she hoped he didn't listen. But he did, because he was secretly hoping she wouldn't want him to leave.Hesitantly, so he didn't come off as too desperate, he faced her again.“Yes? Do you need something?”“Quick, think, Ivy!” She screamed to herself internally. It worked, as the perfect excuse popped up.“Grandma,” she muttered, shifting her gaze to him. “My grandma–”“I don't know anything yet. And I think it's wise for it to remain that way. Her results may come out soon. Let's wait until then.”“How long?” She asked the dreaded question.“How long until?” “How long until the result comes out? And if it's negative, what does it mean? I'm fine now. We can return back to the villa.”“Princess, you're fine when the doctor reassures us that it's okay for you to leave
IVYI followed the light, and it opened up my eyes. For a couple of seconds, I laid still, listening to the only sounds around. My heart beat, and a beeping sound. When the beeping sound became hard to dismiss, I finally moved my body, facing sideways. That move, albeit slight, caused some blurriness to my vision, and lightweightness in my head.I knew I was conscious, but I couldn't fathom anything else. The blurriness cleared up, and I saw a monitor. That was where the beeping sound was coming from. It was the monitor. After this realization came the need to understand where I was, and how I arrived here..To discover both, I had to open my mind, and just relax.I did so by letting go, and closing my eyes.At first, nothing happened. It was all blank in thoughts and memories. Then the door opened, and my eyes flew open when the scent of jasmine wafted into my nose.“I see eyes opened. You're awake, like I knew you'd be,” a cheerful voice said, approaching me.I didn't recognise the
“Princess,” Vladimir muttered again, purely out of desperation now.An adrenaline rush pushed him towards her, and gave him the much needed strength to not only rise up to his feet, but also carry her into his arms.He swiftly exited the jet, at the same moment a car came to a stop before him.His pilot, the captain, ran out of the car. “Son! I'm here, son!”Vladimir, cradling Ivy's body in his, didn't want to let go.Firmly, he held on to her, as he walked to the backseat of the car.“I called Yasmin already. She's expecting us,” the captain filled him in, as he gently placed Ivy's unconscious body into the backseat, before jumping in himself. The captain shut the door, and headed for the driver's seat.As he drove off, Vladimir held on to Ivy.The rage he felt before had dissolved into concern now.Concern so great, he found himself staring at her unconscious body. There was a pulse. It was the one thing that kept his hope alive. Also, she had definitely touched him, which meant she
“We're landing now, Gianni!”“Huh?!” He looked up and around frantically, as the voice from the intercom reached his ears.On realization that it was an announcement, his gaze shot back to the girl he was about to push through the window.Pulling her back, he turned her to face him.She was unconscious.“Hmmm.” He made a disgusted sound at the back of his throat, and let go of her.She crumpled to the ground, unconscious, and even lifeless.Gianni crossed over her body, plopping on the closest seat he found.Landing took a couple of minutes to finalize. When it was done, Gianni's eyes returned to the girl on the ground. As far as he was concerned, Ivy Greene was dead.He brought his gaze a little upwards, towards his crotch area. The bulge showed just how aroused he had become.Ever since he was a teenager, the thought of female corpses had always aroused him.One of his biggest fantasies was to copulate with one.Behold, the opportunity presented itself to him on a platter. It wasn't
IVY If anyone was going to die tonight, it surely wasn't going to be me. I lifted my hand to the edge of the cup, to stop it from reaching my lips. His eyes snapped down on me. “What are you doing?” “You drink first,” I said fearlessly. “What?” His face contorted. “It's for you, not for me.”
IVYGrandma held my hand. Together, we followed the woman who didn't have the nicest tone to her voice. But grandma was there by my side, and it was all the courage I needed.Like the contrast between day, and night, we burst into a hall not only larger than life, but lit up into the heavens.Diam
IVYBar the man who pointed a gun to Grandma's temple earlier, and the one who approached me with determination in his eyes, I hadn't seen any other man this up close in five years.Usually, the men who dropped by our all female villa were delivery guys, who I only ever caught glimpses of.This one
IVYMy sleep paralysis demon always came around just before the first light of dawn.Grabbing me by the chest, and choking until I was completely paralyzed and under the mercy of the unknown.Because of her strength, yes, my demon is a girl, I call her Millicent. Millicent was absent tonight. She
