Eliana's POV

I stood up, fixing my summer dress, and sighed.

I slowly made my way toward the reception, trying not to throw my phone out the window.

With the millions I make daily, I took risks in the past, secretly investing in Calvin's company, making it rise from nothing to riches in record time.

He never knew I was a private investor in his company, but I bet he'll be surprised when he finds out.

I never told him about the company out of fear that he would feel inferior. I cared about him, placed him on a pedestal, and allowed my world to revolve predominantly around him and all his demands.

Calvin thinks that my girl trips with friends were simply 'spoiled wives' vacations'.

In reality, I was constantly traveling, finding investors, quality creators, the best in the world, and in our nation, making a living for myself... hoping to find the guts one day to tell him of all my achievements.

I'd daydream of how excited and happy he would be to learn I wasn't just a spoiled stay-at-home wife, but rather, a contributor and top investor in his company.

Five years... five years of a happy marriage changed the moment he decided to hire Kylie Sinclair, six months ago.

Kylie was a college dropout, using her beauty to her advantage when she met Calvin, begging him for a chance to become a model at his agency.

He pitied her for being of a poor background, with scarce resources. It didn't take long for him to fall for her tricks. I thought he was smarter than that.

He swore in the past... 'I'd never fall for anyone else?. You are everything to me.' he had said.

Now, he was buying Kylie luxurious items; jewelry, clothes, perfumes, and designer bags that any girl could only dream of.

Then it got more expensive... the new apartment she wanted near the beach, because... it was closer to work.

He bought a new flashy sports car so he could personally drive her to her new school, fully funded by Calvin, my husband.

So generous!

"Did you see the gold necklace Mr. Franco bought for Kylie? Ugh, I'm so jealous," a girl said, making me clutch the phone in my hands tighter.

"Yeah. I hear they came back from the Bahamas yesterday. I've been following their posts daily. He took her to the most beautiful beach hotel. Took her shopping, and dined at the finest restaurants...God, she is so lucky," another girl said, not missing the chance to glance at me.

My phone buzzed with a new message from my best friend, Shannon, bringing my anger down a notch.

"Hey, girly. I got your paperwork ready, are you free now? The gang wants to hang out, and Brooks tried to call you, but he said you didn't pick up. He wants to see us." she typed, making my eyes bulge.

"Do not tell him about the divorce."

"Why not? You're finally free of the scumbag. Brooks will be happy." she replies, making me grunt inwardly.

Brooks loved to tease me, but deep down, he was always overprotective of me. We had been best friends since our diaper years, after all. And though he respected my decision to marry Calvin, he had told me countless times he wanted to smash his head in each time I had called him crying.

I sighed, putting the phone down, twirling my diamond wedding ring.

I turn, seeing Kylie walking toward the door of Calvin's office.

She raised her brow snuggly, not missing the chance to give me a confrontational glare.

Her lips tugged into a smirk as she pushed the door open and stepped inside.

"Hi, baby. Are you ready to go visit your new niece? I bought that cute blanket you wanted for her." Kylie says, deliberately leaving the door faintly open, enough to allow me to hear.

"So they knew... they knew all along that Calvin and she were seeing each other behind my back." I thought to myself before grabbing the phone and standing on my feet.

"I'm in. I'm divorcing the bastard anyway. What do you have in mind?" I say as I throw away the gift bag in my hand and walk toward his office.

My mind was still swirling with deathly thoughts of how to get revenge on him and his dumb new side piece.

If it had been a year ago, when I was still blindly and stupidly in love with him, I probably would have pleaded with him, begged him for us to work things out.

I would have told him I could change, and that I'd be willing to modify anything he didn't like about me, whether physical or emotional.

I was so sickly in love with him.

But over the last few months, the careless acts he and his new whore had pulled in front of me had turned my heart into a cold stone.

If they wanted a cold-hearted bitch, then they'll get a cold-hearted bitch.

If there was one thing my momma had taught me was to be humble, but never let yourself be pushed around and allowed to be used. "Always be kind, dear, but take no bull... no matter who it is." she had said in the past.

I had nearly forgotten who I was.

It was time I fixed my damn crown, and stood on business.

The first thing I had to do after talking to my best friend Shannon, was to get more evidence.

I trust Shannon will make Calvin regret ever cheating on me.

She had the best legal team behind her firm. And though I didn't like that she didn't want me to leave any of my assets to Calvin when I first hired her, I was glad I listened to her advice and my head lawyer, Amanda.

"Since you have countless proofs of his infidelities, we will make sure he is forced to give you fifty percent of the marital belongings, including the house, half of the cars, private properties overseas, and villas, along with monthly alimony."

"I don't care for any of those. Just make sure to draft it before tomorrow afternoon. I want him to sign the divorce papers before the end of the night." I said as I looked out the window of the room, sipping on my espresso.

"Very well, Miss Vargas. I will work on it right now, and be back as soon as possible. Please make yourself at home."

My phone buzzed, making me come out of my train of thought.

"Hello," I said as an unknown number showed on my screen.

"Eli, baby, where are you? It's late, my parents and everyone are waiting for us. The party has already started. I told you to wait for me at the office." Calvin says, with faint worriedness.

The receptionist had obviously not cared to mention my arrival to him, making him think I was not in his office waiting for the past twenty minutes.

"About that... I don't feel so good. Best you go without me. Do tell everyone I apologize, but I have a mean migraine, so I came back home to rest." I lie, clenching my jaw as I hear him huff in frustration.

"Eli, it's just a headache. I told you this was an important event.  My sister loves you so much, how can you not go meet her new baby?" he says, making my blood boil as I hear the two girls giggling in the back as they leave the reception.

"I'm sorry, but I really do feel bad. I can't even stand the light right now. It's... It's really bad. I can always go by and visit her tomorrow, please tell them I'm sorry. I'll make it up some other time." I say, rolling my eyes and fighting the urge to vomit from disgust.

"If your wife doesn't want to go, I can always be your date, Mr. Franco." Kylie's voice comes a little too sweet.

"Kylie... not now. Stop it," he says, trying to cover the speaker on his phone. A giggle follows, making my anger rise.

"Honey, don't take it to heart. Kylie is still young, she doesn't know any better. She's... still learning." he says as he tries to control his breath.

If I knew any better, and if the rumors of how filthy she was, she was probably on her knees now giving him a fucking blow job.

I hear her faint moan, making me want to throw my phone out the window, run inside that office, and yank her hair out.

But, I play it cool, dismissively.

"No, it's ok. I think it's a good idea if Kylie goes in my place. Let her go and take my place. Im sure the family will live to meet another of your... supermodels" I say, making him pause.

Because yes, he thought I didn't know. But this was not the first time he cheated, and I was done with his stupid games.

I'm divorcing him, and there's not a damn thing he can do now to make me change my mind.

"Are you... Sure?" he asks, his voice caught, trying to control his breathing.

"Oh... I'm sure." I say as I walk closer to his office, thankful Kylie left the door ajar, and smile.

I smiled, standing on my feet, and hugged her tightly.I gave my girls a subtle signal, and they quickly understood, reading my cues and rushing to assist their maid by grabbing all the bags, unstrapping the baby's car seat, and carefully carrying the sleeping baby."Sarah, how are you?" I asked, giving her a tight hug. She chuckled, hugging me back tightly."Oh, sweetie. We missed you so much at the party last night. Calvin said you weren't feeling well, so I took the initiative to bring you a few supplements," she says as she takes a red box from her son-in-law's hand, brings it over with a smile, then takes my hand and sits me next to her on the sofa.'Open it," she says joyfully. She had brought a series of vitamin supplements and precious herbal remedies."I had these imported all the way from Oaxaca, Mexico, just for you. • Deal With My Best Friend   Noxious Behavior

Ellie's POVI kept eating quietly, sulking in the bitter taste of Calvin's betrayal. Yet I couldn't find myself with the desire to keep, withstanding, or crying for him. No more. I'm done. He and Kylie can kiss my ass and rot. Knowing my husband was up there, helping his mistress get ready to leave my damn house, was making me itch. I had an uncontrollable urge to walk up those stairs, into my room, pull her out by the hair, and drag her out of my house. Then I'd turn and drag Calvin out of the same way, beat him to a pulp, and make them regret tangling behind my back. Itching with the desire to run up there, yank her damn hair out, and drag them both out of my damn house. But I sucked it up. Sucked it up because as they say... last one to smile, smiles best.My phone rang, alerting me that a deliveryman was at my door."Hey, Daniela, could you get the door, please? There's a package for me waiting right outside." I asked my youngest housemaid, looking at her through unshed tears.

  • Deal With My Best Friend   His Card

Eliana's POV Calvin closed his eyes, pinching the bridge of his nose as he took a long, dragged breath. "Baby... I know I've given you spending freedom... But you just changed your wardrobe a month ago. Don't you think that's a bit excessive?" Calvin adds, making me roll my eyes as I take a forkful of food to my mouth. As if! I have spent my hard-earned money on my clothes for the last two years without spending a single dime of his because I wanted to ease his load. Yet he thinks I am just 'spending' his money? Buddy- every damn piece of your clothes was bought by me! I rolled my eyes as I continued to munch on my food, stabbing the pancake that Jocie had just set before me, dunking it into the warm and gooey cream cheese icing she placed next to me, and bringing it to my mouth. I moaned in delight, savoring it as I chewed that sucker. "It's outdated. I have no use for those clothes if I can't wear them. Do you want the other wives in your circle to think I have a cheap

I mean, do you plan on divorcing him, as you said, or... are you going to forgive him for this again?" he asked, making me look up."Of course I am. I am done, Brooks. I've been trying my hardest to look the other way, to make things work, to catch his attention and do things right, be the stupid submissive wife, but I just... can't!""I understand. You know I'm here for you, right, doll? I won't leave you," he says, making my heart warm a little."Brooks... I'm sorry I kept you up. I know you have a plane to catch, and I shouldn't have kept you away for so long, I just-""Stop it. You're my best friend, Ellie. The plane can wait. • Deal With My Best Friend   No Shame

You're finally home." She says as she helps me to the couch, and takes my purse, placing it on the coffee table next to the sofa."Daniela, my feet are aching. I think I drank a little too much." I said as I slumped my body, closing my eyes as I grabbed one of the small pillows and placed it under my head.Daniela chuckles, grabbing one of the fleece throws, placing it over me, and sighing."I'm just glad you're home safe, ma'am. By the way-" she says, changing her tone to a bit of concern as she looks towards the stairs."Ma'am... is... everything alright between you and... Mr. Calvin?" she asks, maki
