LOGINHe arched subtly into my touch, pressing his chest forward so my fingers grazed his hardened nipples. I caught the seductive glint in his eyes. He was doing this on purpose. Up until that moment, I had not noticed how my hands were trembling against his warm skin. Omega Kai Ashwood was handed over to the brutal Alpha Knox as payment for a war debt. He is a very powerful alpha feared by other alphas, and no one dares to challenge him. So Kai's only hope was the Enigma Jax Wilder. A ruthless, untouchable enigma feared by every alpha in existence. The one monster strong enough to keep Knox away. But the cold-hearted Jax has no interest in keeping strays. He plans to heal Kai and send him far away from his territory the moment he’s strong enough. Kai knows the truth: the second he leaves, Knox will hunt him down and finish what he started. With nothing left to lose, Kai makes a dangerous decision. He will seduce the icy enigma. Use every inch of his body, every sweet moan, every drop of his intoxicating heat to make Jax fall for him. If the Enigma claims him, if he falls in love, he’ll never let him go. And no one, not even Knox- would dare challenge an Enigma protecting what’s his. But Jax has been burned before. By an omega who looked just as innocent and he was not ready to risk it again. Now the real game begins. One desperate omega. One broken enigma. And a seduction that could either save Kai… or destroy them both.

I sensed the disturbance in the air a split second before I heard the sharp crack of a tree at the far right edge of the forest.
'Someone is in my territory. Who dares? ... An omega?'
I could smell him now. The metallic stench of blood hit me hard - he was bleeding profusely. What the hell was an injured omega doing in my territory?
I listened to his staggering steps and shallow, labored breaths as they drew closer. Then, through the trees, I finally saw him emerge.
He looked pale, weak, and incredibly fragile. He clutched his right rib with his left hand, staggering forward like he might collapse at any second. He was covered in more blood than that slender body of his should be able to produce.
As he got closer, I could see his eyes properly. The bruised circles beneath them didn’t erase the striking beauty of those classic almond-shaped eyes, with color like sea glass.
My gaze slid down to his well-structured cheekbones and over his entire face. Even battered and broken, he was breathtakingly handsome.
I was still lost in admiration when the omega suddenly crashed into my chest, smearing blood across my shirt.
“Please… he wouldn’t stop,” he whispered in a husky, broken voice. He could no longer hold himself up.
“Who wouldn’t stop?” My voice dropped dangerously low. For some reason, my heart softened at the sight of him. Something deep inside me stirred - a powerful urge to protect him from anything and everything that might hurt him.
Before he could answer, I sensed another presence… an alpha.
Sure enough, the next second I saw an angry alpha storming toward us. Two unwanted visitors in my territory in one hour? My reputation must really be losing its bite.
“Mr. Wilder, he is mine,” the alpha said, his voice was thin and brittle. Good, at least he was scared of me.
“If you can return him to me, we’ll be on our way. I’m very sorry for the disturbance we caused you.”
“You did this to him?” I asked.
The alpha smirked arrogantly. “The little omega needed to learn who he belonged to. A few bites and scratches ought to remind him.”
His words ignited a fury in me far stronger than they should have.
“If you want to get out of here alive, leave this instant,” I thundered, my voice dropping to a deadly growl. “Or I’ll call your pack to come and carry your dead body. And as for the omega, he is mine now. You dare not lay a hand on what is mine.”
The alpha withdrew immediately, I could sense this wasn’t over, but that would be a problem for another day. Right now, I needed to figure out what to do with the dying omega still bleeding in my arms.
I carried him inside my lair to clean him up so his wolf’s healing powers could kick in properly. He clung to me desperately, like the last twig keeping him from falling off a ledge. His slender body felt far too frail against mine, and his skin burned with fever.
I laid him gently on the bed and went to the kitchen to fetch a bowl of water and a towel. When I returned, I was surprised to find him already sitting upright.
“How are you still able to move around in this state?” I asked.
“Willpower,” he answered quietly. “With everything I’ve been through in life, it takes nothing but willpower to keep going.”
“You’ve been through a lot at just 24?” I asked.
“Close. I’m actually 25,” he replied with a cheerful tone that caught me off guard. “And you’d be surprised by everything I’ve had to endure.”
“Let’s leave your life history for another day,” I said, soaking the towel in the bowl of water. I gently wiped the blood off his face. “But since you’re strong enough to talk, who was that alpha? And why were you trying to escape from him?”
“That’s Alpha Knox from the Blackfang Pack,” he began. “My pack, the Lunar Reavers, asked for his pack’s alliance during the Lunar Sangre war. When the time came to repay them, he demanded me as payment. My pack handed me over without hesitation. Nobody fought for me- not my parents, not my siblings, and not even the alpha I was betrothed to.”
He paused, then continued softly, “So when you said I was yours… when you held me tight and told him to leave your territory, I felt protected in a way I’ve never felt before.”
His words tugged at something deep in my chest. For a second, I let the feeling linger- then I quickly pushed it away. I am not sticking out my neck for anyone anymore. Not after what happened the last time.
“I only told him off because everyone and everything in my territory is under my protection,” I said. “But once you get better, I am sending you on your way. Whatever happens after that is none of my business. Now continue with your story. How did you get so brutalized?”
He paused, the cheerfulness slowly fading from his eyes. “Whenever he goes deep into his rut, he would always come for me. I always resisted and fought back while he savagely attacked, his claws and teeth tearing into my back. But this time I managed to break free and ran as far and as fast as my willpower could carry me.”
“How long has this been going on?” I asked, fury burning in my chest.
“It’s been going on since I was 20,” he answered quietly. “It’s been five years now.”
For the entirety of my life, I had never felt the need to strangle someone as badly as I did right then at the mere thought of that alpha.
Chapter 4They left that night. Elara packed a small bag with food and water. She wore simple clothes, nothing that would make her stand out.She left a note for her parents. It said she was going to visit a friend in the next village. She hated lying, but she knew they would try to stop her if they knew the truth.Fenn met her at the forest's edge."Ready?" he asked."No," she said. "But I'm going anyway."They walked for hours. The forest was dark, but the moon gave them light. Elara's legs ached, but she kept going."I can't believe we're doing this," Fenn whispered. "This is the craziest thing we've ever done.""Remember when we tried to steal those cakes from the kitchen?""That was different. That was fun. This is terrifying."Elara didn't answer. She was focused on the path ahead.Around midnight, they reached the old watchtower. It was abandoned. No one had used it for years."We can rest here," she said. "We need to be fresh for tomorrow."They went inside. The tower was dust
Chapter 3Elara dragged the stranger into the old storage shed behind the main hall. It was dark and full of cobwebs. No one ever came here. She laid him down on a pile of old sacks. His breathing was shallow. His face was pale."I need water," he whispered. She ran to the well and filled a cup. When she came back, the man was trying to sit up."Don't move," she said. "You're hurt.""I've had worse." He took the cup and drank. His hands were shaking.Elara watched him. He looked strong under all the dirt and blood. His eyes were sharp, even now. He wasn't just some random wolf. He was a fighter."Who are you?" she asked. "Really?"The man looked at her. For a moment, she saw fear in his eyes. Then it was gone."My name is Orin," he said. "I was a scout for the Voss family. I worked in Blackstone Keep."Elara's heart raced. Blackstone Keep. The heart of enemy territory. The place where Theron Voss ruled."Why are you here?" she asked."Because I couldn't stay there anymore." Orin's voi
The library was quiet. It was always quiet. Elara came here when she needed to think. The old books smelled like dust and secrets. She liked that. She ran her fingers along the spines. Her father had built this library. He had collected stories from all over the world. He said knowledge was power. She pulled out a random book and sat down. But she couldn't focus. Her mind kept going back to the meeting. To the way everyone had looked at her. To the way her father had dismissed her. She was twenty-two years old. She had trained her whole life. She could fight. She could track. She could do everything the other wolves could do. But she couldn't shift fully. Her wolf was weak. It always had been. She slammed the book shut. That's when she noticed the letter. It was stuck between two books on a high shelf. Old paper. Yellowed with age. She had to stand on her toes to reach it. The letter was addressed to her father. The writing was fancy, like someone important had written it. Bu
Chapter 54Chapter 1: The Weight of a NameThe sun was warm on Elara's face as she worked in the fields. Her hands were dirty, her back ached, and she had never felt more invisible.Around her, the people of Aethelgard moved with purpose. They carried baskets of grain, talked about the harvest, and laughed with each other. It was a good day. A peaceful day. But Elara couldn't shake the heavy feeling in her chest. She was twenty-two years old. The daughter of the most feared enigma in the region and the omega who changed everything. Everyone expected her to be special. Everyone waited for her to do something great. But Elara was just... ordinary. She was a beta. Not an alpha with raw power. Not an omega with mysterious abilities. Just a beta. The kind of wolf everyone forgot about. The kind that blended into the background. She wiped sweat from her forehead and looked toward the main hall of Aethelgard. Her parents were in there. Her parents, the legends. Her father, Kai, was the enigm
Kai’s POVThe moment I crashed into his massive chest, I knew I was safe. His thick, muscled arm locked around me instantly. The sheer weight of him was overwhelming. Heavy biceps pressed against my back and a broad chest solid enough to shield me from the entire world. When he told Alpha Knox that

Jax's POV The cold water had helped, but only a little. My skin felt numb and the worst of the fever had faded, yet my rut still simmered just beneath the surface. I killed the shower, dragged my clothes back on, and told myself I was going straight to the guest room on the far side of the house.
Jax's POV I slammed the door behind me harder than I intended. The sound echoed through the hallway like a gunshot. My blood was on fire. Every breath dragged Kai’s sweet, fruity scent deeper into my lungs. My rut surged violently, making my cock throb painfully against my zipper.“Fuck.”I dragge
