ZANDER’s POV

The library’s clocked ticked louder with every passing minute.

4:03 P.M.

I glanced towards the entrance.

4:17 P.M.

Nothing.

With an irritated sigh, I pulled out my phone to text Jayden to ask him where the hell he was.

I scoffed under my breath, shoving my phone back into the pockets of my hoodie.

“Typical.” Only Jayden Sinclair would agree to meet up only to disappear without any sign of a heads up.

“If I fail this project because of the arrogance of a rich dick like him, I’ll actually rip my hair out from my scalp.”

I waited another twenty minutes before sighing and giving up.

“Fine. I guess it’s going to be a solo project. Not like Jayden even showed interest in art.”

For the next three hours, the only sounds that could be heard around me were keyboards clicking, pen scribbling and pages turning as I pieced together the outline, research and presentation slides. By the that time I was done, more than quarter the project was already complete.

Guess I didn’t need him after all.

The thought should’ve made me feel victorious.

Instead…

It just pissed me the actual fuck off.

Because this wasn’t even about the project anymore. It was about the fact that once again, Jayden proved every horrible assumption I’d ever made about him was right.

Rich. Cocky. Self-centered. A complete waste of oxygen.

I packed my things into my bag and left the library just as the evening sun disappeared behind the campus buildings. By the time I got back to the dorm, the room was empty.

“Shocker.” I grumbled.

I dropped my bag beside my desk, changed into a pair of grey sweatpants, continued polishing the slides while listening to classical music from my speaker.

Hours passed.

The campus slowly became quiet.

Then….

The dorm room door burst open.

Standing at door was Jayden. His black button-up was half untucked, sleeves up to his elbows, looking completely unbothered. The heavy scent of expensive cologne mixed with the sharp burn of alcohol flooded the small room.

“Well…” he slurred, pointing at my direction. “If it isn’t my ‘favorite’ roommate.”

I didn’t even bother looking up from my screen. “You missed our meeting.”

“Oh.”

Silence stretched between us, thick and heavy.

“Did we have one?”

I slowly lifted my head, staring him down. “You mean the one you agreed with when I suggested we met at the library?”

He blinked, his eyes darkened and I swear I saw a tint of purple in it, before letting out a careless chuckle. “Right.”

Unbelievable.

I turned back to my laptop, typing with aggressive force. “I already started the project.”

“Good for you.”

“No,” I snapped, finally meeting his eyes. “Not good for me. It’s a paired project, Jayden.”

He shrugged, kicking off his shoes without a care in the world. There was a dangerous, unpredictable energy surrounding off him tonight. “Guess you’re just efficient.”

One day. One day this boy was going to test the last shred of patience I had left.

Just as I opened my mouth to snap back, a knocked interrupted. I frowned, looking past him. Jayden just turned around, a slow, knowing grin spreading across his face.

“There he is,” Jayden muttered.

A tall blonde guy leaned casually against the door frame, hands tucked into his jeans. He didn't spare me a glance, his eyes were locked entirely on Jayden. “You left your phone.”

Jayden patted his pockets, letting out a low laugh. “Knew I forgot something.”

The guy stepped into the room, tossing the phone onto the bed. For a second, neither of them moved. The air in the room suddenly felt suffocatingly tight.

“So…”

Jayden rolled his eyes, but his gaze went cold, turning sharp and commanding in an instant. The playful drunk act vanished. “Don’t act clingy.”

Before the guy could respond, Jayden grabbed the front of his shirt, and yanked him forward. He pulled him into a heavy, bruising kiss. It wasn't gentle, not one bit. It was possessive, the low, muffled moan that escaped the blonde guy's throat echoing through the quiet room.

When Jayden broke it off, he didn't step back. He still kept his grip tight on the guy's collar, his voice dropping to a low, demanding growl.

"Get to it." Jayden said, his eyes narrowing.

The guy blinked, a smirk trying to claw its way back onto his face as he tried to talk his way out of the tension. "That depends on how well you treat me tonight, baby."

"Don't get on my nerves, blondy," Jayden interrupted, his tone ice-cold and dead serious, completely cutting the guy's playful attitude in half. He leaned in closer, his voice dropping into a harsh whisper that carried clearly across the room. "Suck me off. Now."

The sudden shift in authority was choking. The blond guy's smirk completely faded, swallowed by a sudden, heavy breath. He didn't argue.

What happened next completely my made blood freeze.

The blonde guy dropped to his knees as though the command from Jayden turned him on more,

I sat frozen, staring at him.

“What?” Jayden asked, looking over his shoulder. “You’ve never seen two guys make out before?”

“I’ve seen it,” I choked out, my voice sounding far tighter than I wanted it to.

“Then why are you looking like that?”

I ignored and turned to continue polishing the research.

A heavy compliance that made the air in the room feel dangerously thick.

I sat frozen, staring at them, my heart hammering against my ribs so loudly I was certain they could hear it. I couldn't go away. I knew I should have some sort of decency, privacy, basic roommate respect but, my brain felt completely short-circuited. I had never witnessed anything so raw and intense. Jayden stood there, looking down at the guy with total, icy detachment, completely unbothered by my presence, as if I were nothing more than a piece of dorm furniture.

His mouth opens like he’s hungry. No gagging, no stuttering, no second guessing. Just lips around Jayden’s dick like he owns it.

“Shit—blondy,” he whispers, gripping the guy’s hair like he was about to rip it off.

“What the fuck is happening right now?” I said as I turned to look at them.

His eyes flick up to meet mine and he lets out the sluttiest moan I’d ever heard. Jesus Christ. No one has ever had their dick sucked in front of me! This guy was not just sucking Jayden’s dick. He was baptizing it in spit and moans. like he was built for sucking off.

‘What the fuck is that tongue doing.” I couldn’t exactly see anything because Jayden was backing me. All I could hear were gasps and moans.

I think I hear him whimpering.

Jayden? whimpering like a damn virgin. I can't stop staring at the lips wrapped around his dick so I do the only thing a normal, sane roommate would do,

I turned to leave the room because this was beginning to get under my nerves.

The blond guy wiped his mouth with the back of his hand, a breathless, satisfied smirk returning to his face as he stood up. "Text me when you're sober," he murmured.

I was still paralyzed, my hands gripping the edge of my desk.

Jayden barked out a dark, cynical laugh, completely unaffected by the jab. "Don’t act like such a virgin." He tossed himself onto his mattress, pulling his blanket up without even taking off his jeans.

Within minutes, his breathing evened out into the heavy rhythm of sleep.

The room was completely quiet again. I slowly put my headphones back over my ears, pretending to focus on the glowing screen, but the document in front of me was just a blur of white light. My fingers hovered uselessly over the keyboard.

I shook my head, gripping my hair in frustration. Whatever.

I closed my laptop, the sudden darkness of the room doing nothing to quiet my racing mind. For the first time since moving into this dorm, I lay awake in the dark, staring at the ceiling, waiting for the sleep to take me.

JAYDEN’s POVBy the time I got back to the dorm after stalling to avoid talking with Zander tonight, the hallway was dead quiet, probably because everyone was tipsy as hell. I finally stopped in front of the dorm door and unlocked it. The only light in the room came from the moon reflecting through. I shut the door as quietly as I could and looked toward the other side of the room when I heard shuffling.“Zander.” He was turned away from me, curled up beneath the blanket with his back facing the room. It looked like he had fell asleep moments ago. For a second, I just stood there.I couldn’t tell if he was asleep or pretending to be so I finally shifted gaze to scan through the room.My hoodie and most of my stuffs were sprawled on my bed.I frowned.“He’d moved all my stuffs from his side of the room, huh?” I said as I felt myself get a bit irritated by the thought of it.I picked it up the hoodie, brushing my thumb over the sleeve before tossing it onto my chair.“Guess this means h

ZANDER’s POVStanding at the corner of the room, looking like the lost one here, I spot Jayden at the center of the room, surrounded by a girl and another guy.“How amusing.” I muttered to myself “I should’ve been in the dorm resting from this stressful as fuck semester.” I groaned in distress.Just as I was about to walk up to Jayden to tell him I was leaving, a man who looked to be in his late twenties walked up to me.“Hi. Excuse me…?” I stared at him because there’s no way he could be talking to me.“Um……are you talking to me?” I pointed at myself and looked up to still find him staring and standing in my front.“Yeah…. don’t think an old man like me should be here?” He said with a hint of teasing under his tone.“It’s not that.” I giggled because his demeanor and his way of speaking didn’t sound or look similar.“It doesn’t look like you’re interested in being here at all.”“Well, I wouldn’t willing come to a party.” I looked around, “My fri—roommate forced me here.”“Who?”I sea

JAYDEN’s POVThe party was already in full swing by the time I finished getting ready.Music pounded through the walls of the dorm, voices echoing from down the hallway. People laughing, shouting, as the alcohol had already taken over them. I grabbed my phone and wallet before glancing toward the bathroom.“Are you done yet, Princess?” I called out to Zander, waiting for him to finish preparing.“Don’t call me Princess, asshole?” Zander shouted out from the bathroomThe door finally clicked open and for a second, my brain completely stopped working.Zander stepped out, adjusting the sleeve of a black lacey shirt with pearls decorating its neck and they hugged his arms before disappearing beneath fitted leather pants. The fabric revealed just enough of his skin to make looking away impossible. His silver necklace rested against his collarbone, a few rings decorated his fingers, and dark eyeliner framed his eyes perfectly. His lips had the slightest tint to them and his hair was styled

ZANDER’s POVI couldn’t sleep after what I just saw.Jayden had mumbled something under his breath before taking his towel to the bathroom. I wasn’t paying attention at first because my eyes were already half closed, begging for sleep after spending the entire evening working on our project. I’d heard the bathroom door open and Jayden stepped out. He made shuffling sounds as he raised up his shirt and out of instinct, my eyes cracked open for only a second and I immediately felt my entire body go pale.I saw bruises. Not one.Not two.My stomach sank. The bruises stretched across his back in uneven patches, some dark enough to make my skin crawl, others faded into sickly shades of yellow and green. I couldn’t even tell where one ended and the next began. Before he could turn back, I pressed my eyes shut and slowed my breathing, pretending I’d been asleep the whole time. Opening my eyes now would mean admitting I’d seen something I wasn’t supposed to and I didn’t think Jayden was rea

JAYDEN’s POV“You sure you don’t want to add anything else?” I glanced at the finished tattoo before looking at my new artist.“I’m good.”He wiped the excess ink away before stepping back to admire his work. “Looks clean.”I hummed in response, barely paying attention to him or anything else. The sting of the needle had long been replaced by the dull ache spreading across my arm. The words on my skin made me feel a different type of way. It was reclaiming a part of my self my father has cut away from me.“Just keep the bandage on for a few hours,” he said. “Wash it gently when you get home and NO scratching.”I nodded my head already up and planning to leave his studio. He chuckled.I pulled my shirt back on carefully, trying not to let the fabric brush against the fresh ink. He probably thought I was some masochist, considering how I barely reacted during the whole process and how I’m moving now. It still burned, but it was nothing compared to the hours I’d spent training with my fa

  • Dorm rules: Don't fall for your roommate.   CHAPTER 9

ZANDER’s POVAfter the whole shit that happened today? All I needed was to get halfway through this project and go home for the weekend. A little time away from Jayden and his friends.Speaking of the devil, he entered the room. I didn’t even want to say anything to him or even look at him right now because everything about him just kept reminding me about the cafeteria and I couldn’t start pretending like I was in the mood.“You came back.”I felt my blood boil and any little hope I had of us becoming neutral totally evaporate. How could this be the first he says to me after acting like I didn’t even exist. Even if he hated my guts, a simple apology— or at least some sign that he gave a damn would’ve been enough. “About the project.” I changed the topic. I just needed us to work on it today and finish some of it so we could get away from each other. “We should decide the parts we’re going to cover before you leave for the weekend.”I know I sounded like an asshole, but I didn’t ca
