登入Ella has spent years hiding. Hiding from the whispers. Hiding from the laughter. Hiding from Sara Moon, the queen of Moonridge High, who made sure everyone knew Ella was nothing but a fat joke. The only light in her darkness was Damon Silverton, the star hockey player, the boy who held her hand in secret and promised one day the whole school would know she was his. That day came at the awards ceremony. Damon called another girl's name. And Ella fell apart. But when Kael Thorne transfers to Moonridge High, everything changes. His wolf wakes up the moment he sees her. She is his mate. And for the first time, Ella feels what it means to be chosen, publicly, proudly, without shame. But history is repeating itself. Three generations of women in Ella's family have been torn apart by love and jealousy. Her mother warns her: one of these boys will kill the other for her. And if she's not careful, she might not survive either. Damon wants her back. Kael wants to keep her. And Angel, Kael's dangerous ex-girlfriend and a powerful witch, will do anything, even use dark magic, to eliminate the mate who stole her man. But the main villain in her love life might not be who she expects. And the truth about her father's death could destroy everything.

The bleachers are cold as hell, but I don't care. Damon's out on the ice, skating laps like he's the only person in the world. The rink lights make his jersey glow. His blades cut clean lines behind him, and I could watch him forever. Practice ended twenty minutes ago. Everyone else already left, the other players, the coach, even the janitor who usually kicks me out. But Damon knows I'm here. He always knows. He glides to the boards right in front of me and looks up. His grin is stupidly perfect. "You're still here." "I'm always still here." He laughs and skates toward the players' tunnel. I know what comes next. I grab my bag and hurry around to the back entrance, the one near the locker rooms. The storage room door creaks when I push it open. It's small in here, just hockey sticks, boxes of tape, and a bench along the wall. Damon's already there, waiting. His hair is wet from the shower now. He changed into jeans and a hoodie. He pulls me inside and kisses me before the door fully closes. His lips are warm now. I like this part. The part where it's just us and nothing else matters. "You okay?" he asks, pulling back to look at me. "I'm okay." "You seem quiet." I shrug. "Just thinking." "About what?" About how I have to sit in the back of every class so no one sees me looking at you. About how I eat lunch alone while you're at the popular table with Sera and her friends. About how your phone buzzes with her name sometimes when we're together and you always turn the screen away. But I don't say any of that. "Just nervous about tomorrow," I say instead. He cups my face in his hands. His palms are rough from the hockey stick. "Don't be nervous. Tomorrow's going to be perfect." "You don't know that." "I do." He says it so sure. So confident. "I'm winning that award. Coach basically told me already. And when I get up there, I'm calling you up. Everyone's going to see you. Everyone's going to know." My heart does that thing it always does when he talks like this. That flutter. That hope. "And Sera?" The name leaves a bad taste. "She's going to be sitting right there. What if she" "Sera doesn't matter." He cuts me off. "Sera's just... she's just someone I have to deal with. Her dad is on the school board. You know how it is." I don't really know how it is. He's never explained. Every time I ask, he says it's complicated. But I let it go. I always let it go. "Promise me," I whisper. "Promise me you'll actually do it this time." His face changes. Just for a second. Something flickers in his eyes, guilt maybe, or annoyance. But then it's gone, and he's smiling again. "I promised already." "Say it again." He sighs, but it's a soft sigh. Tired, not mean. "I promise, Ella. Tomorrow night. Everyone knows." I want to believe him. God, I want to believe him so bad. He kisses my forehead. "I should go. My mom texted like three times." "Yeah. Okay." He pulls away and grabs his bag. At the door, he pauses. "You need a ride? I could drop you somewhere close and you could walk the rest." It's the same offer he always makes. The same offer I always refuse. "It's fine. I'll walk." "You sure?" "Yeah." He nods and leaves. The door swings shut behind him. I sit on the bench for a minute. Maybe five. The storage room smells like ice and sweat and the air freshener the janitor uses. I've spent so much time in here this past year. It's basically our second home. When I finally leave, the night air hits me hard. Cold. November cold. I pull my jacket tighter and start walking. The streets are quiet. Dark. I pass houses with lights on inside, families eating dinner or watching TV. Normal stuff. Stuff I don't have. My phone buzzes. A text from Damon: Home safe. Text me when you get there. I smile despite everything. He does care. He wouldn't text if he didn't care. I type back: Almost there. Another buzz: Tomorrow changes everything. I mean it. I hold the phone to my chest for a second. Right over my heart. By the time I get home, my fingers are numb and my nose is running. The house is dark except for the kitchen light. Mom works nights at the diner, so I'm used to coming home to an empty house. I heat up leftover spaghetti in the microwave and eat standing over the sink. My phone sits on the counter, and I keep looking at it. Waiting for another message. He doesn't send one. That's okay. He's probably asleep. Hockey players need their rest. I wash my plate and head to my room. My bed is unmade, like always. My closet door doesn't close all the way because too many clothes are stuffed inside. The mirror on my wall shows me everything I don't want to see. I look at myself for a long time. Tomorrow, everyone's going to see me. Really see me. And I'm terrified. Not because of Damon. I trust Damon. It's everyone else I don't trust. It's the way they look at me now, like I'm invisible at best, a joke at worst. What happens when they find out their star player chose me? What happens when Sera finds out? I climb into bed and stare at the ceiling. My wolf is quiet tonight. She's always quiet. Sometimes I wonder if she's even real, or if the whole werewolf thing skipped me somehow. Mom says my wolf will wake up when she's ready. When I meet my mate. But that's a joke, right? Guys like Damon don't end up with girls like me. That's not how it works. He's just... different. He sees something in me that no one else does. Or maybe he's just using me until something better comes along. No. I can't think like that. He promised. I roll over and grab my phone. One last message from me: Goodnight. See you tomorrow. I love you. I've only said that a few times. He doesn't always say it back. But tonight, right before I drift off, my phone buzzes. Love you too. Get some sleep. Big day tomorrow. I fall asleep smiling. And I have no idea that tomorrow is going to destroy me.Ella's POVThat night, I couldn't eat. I couldn't stop crying. The food my mom left for me sat on the table, getting cold. My stomach was empty, but I didn't care. Every time I tried to take a bite, the lump in my throat made it impossible to swallow. The smell of the food made me feel sick, and I pushed the plate away, watching the steam rise and disappear into the air.I kept messaging Kael. Calling him. Over and over. The phone rang, but he never picked up. My messages went through, but he never read them. It was like I was talking to a ghost. Like he had disappeared from the face of the earth. Every ring that went unanswered felt like a knife twisting deeper into my chest. Why was he doing this? Did he really mean what he said? Was he never coming back to Moonridge? Was that it? Was our relationship just... over? The questions kept spinning in my mind, each one more painful than the last. I couldn't find any answers. I couldn't find any peace. But somehow, Damon showed up.He had
Ella's POVI got out from the school bus, hoping to tell my mom what had happened in school. About Judith. About her being the principal's daughter. About her plan to help me win the election. About seeing her come out of Sara's car.The day had been long. Confusing. My head was still spinning from everything I had learned. The information kept swirling around in my mind like a storm that wouldn't settle. Every time I thought I had processed one piece of it, another detail would surface and knock me off balance again.I wasn't expecting to meet my mom at home. She was usually at the diner this time of day. Working. Serving customers. Staying busy. The diner was her second home, and she rarely left before the evening rush was over. But when I walked down our street, I saw her car parked outside. That was strange. She never came home early. Never. Something had to be wrong for her to leave work in the middle of the day.But I was kind of happy to see it. I needed to talk to her. I neede
Lyra's POVPeople would say it is not possible to love two people at the same time. They would call it selfish. They would call it greedy. But I don't believe that.I love Lucian the same way I love Thorne.I met Thorne first. He came to Moonridge for school. He was handsome. Confident. Different from the other boys. He didn't care about pack politics or alpha status. He just wanted to live his life.We fell in love fast. Deep. The kind of love that consumes you. Then Lucian came back to Moonridge. He was from here, but he didn't grow up here. His family had moved away when he was young. When he returned, he was a stranger in his own pack.I can still remember the day Lucian claimed me as his mate. I am not a wolf, so I don't know how it feels to be a wolf and be mated to one. To be honest, I didn't really give Lucian a chance at first. I was in love with Thorne. I didn't want anyone else. But Lucian was patient. He didn't rush things. He didn't pressure me. He just waited. And that p
Ella's POV"Ella, in case you don't know why I'm doing everything possible to help you win this student president seat, let me tell you."The principal said this after I walked into his office. One of the teachers had told me he wanted to see me. I didn't know why. I didn't know what to expect. But I came anyway."I know," I said. "Sara told me she would get you fired as soon as she gets the seat."He nodded. "You are right. But not just me. Almost all the teachers.""What?" I sounded shocked. I knew Sara was cruel. I knew she wanted power. But firing teachers? All of them? That was a new level of evil."Yes. She is going to make us unemployed. All of us. And you are the only person who can help." He looked at me. His eyes were desperate. "Just win the election.""Why can't you guys just rig the election in my favor?" I asked."Nope. It is not possible. The voting system is transparent. The students will know if something is wrong." He paused. "All you need is a good campaign committe
Kael's POV"Son, that girl cannot be who you are planning to spend your life with."My father's voice was calm. Too calm. We were having dinner at his house in Lykos. He had insisted I follow him back the same day Lyra returned him. That was almost two days ago. Two days of being away from Ella. Tw
Ella's POV I don't know how long I have been inside this room. It wasn't a prison. Not really. It had a bed. A chair. An air conditioner. But I couldn't leave. The door was locked from outside. And no one came except when they wanted to bring me food or check on me. I started getting confused ab
Ella's POVI was expecting my mom to tell Damon to call his parents immediately he arrived. That was the plan. That was why she made me call him. But somehow, she didn't."Go to your room. You have school tomorrow," my mom said. Her voice was calm. Too calm. Like she had already decided what she wa
Ella's POV"Mom, how can we end this curse?"I was helping my mom do laundry. Folding clothes. Sorting socks. Trying to act normal. But my mind was somewhere else. The curse. Rebecca's words. The fear that had been sitting in my chest since I heard the truth. My mom didn't look up from the shirt sh
