Masuk~YULIA
My heart was hammering hard as I ran out the exit door.
It took a lot of time to get my breathing to be even. It did not help that I was still running even after leaving the club. Street lamps were my only form of light since the crescent moon was not bright enough tonight.
I could have stopped in front of the club to wait for a cab but I was too worried that the mysterious man would follow me outside and easily find me.
It was a miracle that I had escaped him despite feeling all these emotions. And I was sure that if he somehow showed up before me again, then there would be no way that I could resist him.
"Damn, no one told me that older men were this delicious," I muttered to myself.
My phone buzzed again and this time, I stopped to pick up. After all, I felt assured that the mysterious man could no longer find me again. I had given the club enough distance that I could no longer see it.
"Lana," I began the moment I picked up the call.
"Where are you, girl? You have us worried sick!" She screamed.
Lana was my childhood friend and I could always tell when she was acting.
"Rogers put you up to this, didn't he?" I answered instead in a straight voice.
"What?" She exclaimed about to go off when her voice was cut off.
"Fine, you got me. I couldn't reach you anymore and I have a feeling you blocked my number, thus I used Lana's phone," Rogers boldly said.
I rolled my eyes at him. I hated the fact that they were now treating me like an egg. As if they were scared I was going to break if they so much as looked away from me.
"I am on my way home already. Why are you so persistent about this?"
"It's not safe for you out there. Your mother confided in me before—" he paused, refusing to say the obvious. "She said your life was in danger."
I frowned. "What are you even talking about? Why will my life be in danger?"
"I am coming to get you. Just stay exactly where you are. I have been able to pinpoint your location."
"What? You're tracking me now?" I screamed.
"I just did what I had to—"
I ended the call before he could finish the statement.
I released a frustrated growl before tucking my phone into my pocket. And as if the universe was against me, it suddenly began to rain out of the blue.
"Very funny, Moon goddess!" I called sarcastically.
That was when I felt a shift in the atmosphere and my wolf stirred with alarm. I felt the hair at the back of my neck stand. A feeling began to build up at the back of my mind, almost as if someone was stabbing a thousand spikes into me.
It was accompanied by the feeling of being watched.
I stared around the space with wide eyes. That was when I caught sight of red crimson eyes watching me from a far end of an alley.
My heart skipped triple beats and my wolf sank to the deepest part of my core. I looked away immediately and my body started trembling.
Who the fuck was that and why were they watching me?
My heart started hammering again and I dared another glance at my stalker only to see that the eyes were gone.
Had I imagined it the first time or had they really been there?
My wolf suddenly flinched and that was when I noticed a group of men coming my way.
"Shit!" I cursed before breaking into a run.
"Get her!" One of them roared. "She's the one we've been looking for!"
My heart shattered at their words. Could my mother really have been right? Was my life really in danger?
I picked up my pace and swiftly broke into a run under the rain. I had no idea where I was going. My body began to tremble violently and I thought that this was it for me.
"Surround her!" I heard another say.
I gasped. This was not good. If they surrounded me, then there was no way that I was going to make it out.
I increased my speed as I ran blindly down the empty streets. I wondered how late it was for the streets to be this dry.
My wolf was jumping around my head as she fueled me— forced me to keep running.
I thought about my sweet mother who had always protected me, while I insisted on being a rebel. I thought of her lifeless body when I found her that morning.
They said she suffered from a heart attack and I blamed myself for not being in the house with her to help her when it happened.
Was this my punishment? Was she finally getting back at me from the heavens for being an irresponsible child?
"Gotcha!" A man exclaimed as he appeared before my face.
I flinched and fell back immediately.
Laughter scattered across the space and I realised that I was now surrounded.
"It was a sweet chase but this is where it ends," Another said.
"I still don't understand why she's in high demand. Didn't the mother just die?" Another asked as I continued trembling on the ground.
"I overheard them talking about a certain Moonheart bloodline and her being connected to it," a third man said.
"But what do we care? All we do is make sure that she is delivered and this one here is the most expensive package we have ever come across," the first man said.
My heart hammered hard against my chest. My head was jumbled with multiple thoughts.
What was this they were saying about a certain Moonheart bloodline? What did it have to do with me and why was I the most expensive package?
Who were they planning to sell me to? And why was anyone willing to pay for me?
Suddenly, gunfire erupted through the night and one of the men dropped dead. I screamed in horror.
Another shot sounded and one of them yelled.
"Fuck! We're under attack! Grab the girl!" Another said.
A car suddenly came to a stop before me and the door came open. "Yulia! Get in!"
It was Mr. Rogers' voice.
So as one of them made to grab me, I instantly shot to my feet and ran so hard. I had never run as hard as this my entire life as adrenaline shot through my bones.
"Don't let her get away!" I heard them say.
I was almost at the car when one of them grabbed me. "You're coming with us, bitch!" He yelled.
"Let me go!" I screamed as I started thrashing around his hold.
"Hey, asshole!" Mr Rogers called.
That was when he revealed a gun and shot the man in the head. He went limb immediately and dropped to the floor with a hard thud.
My tremors intensified as shock left me frozen on the spot, unable to move for a split second.
"Yulia! Get in!" Rogers roared and it snapped me out of my trance.
That was when I resumed running again. The moment I launched myself into the car, he shut the door and zoomed off.
~Yulia Thunderclaps woke me up, and I was shocked to see the sky red above me. I turned my head around and was surprised to see I had gained back control of some parts of my body although I still felt very weak.I felt like I was still bound to Uriel now more than ever. I was still in the centre of the runes, with the candle lights switched off. "Allumes." Helena commanded. The fire suddenly came back and I shrieked. I tried moving but a spell held me back firmly in place, or it was Uriel being in me. Deucalion looked around, confused. "Is that it? Why does it seem like it didn't work—"Helena suddenly controlled the flames and the fire from the candles suddenly moved towards Deucalion, trapping him in a circle of fire. "What is this?" Deucalion screamed. He tried to move through it, but it burned with incredible heat. At the same time, it was sucking away his strength. "Helena! What are you doing?!" He screamed again. Helena smirked and walked past me, towards him. All I coul
~ISSAThe engine roared as I flew through the forest in the car. I had put the car in its maximum performance mode, driving through the forest. The suspension groaned as the car bounced off the pothole but that wasn't a problem. It was built for this kind of purpose. My heart raced as I focused on the road, hoping to reach the house fast. As I emerged from the forest and returned to the road, I felt relieved to be back in civilisation. I knew I had to find Yulia. Yulia was the answer to everything. Something was wrong with me, Iran felt strange. My body although healed, felt totally alien. My vision started blacking out and the car started veering off course but I shook my head and I was wide awake. "Whoa!" I exclaimed as I nearly avoided a collision with another truck by spinning the wheel to the left. "Fucking idiot!" The truck driver yelled as he moved past me. I blinked several times trying to focus. There was a sharp pain in my chest that came at intervals, I knew it was I
~Yulia. The darkness enveloped me, yet I wasn't scared. I had gotten used to it, the total silence, the eager cold seeping into my bones. My body had been completely taken. I was pushed back into the farthest reaches of my consciousness while Uriel took over my body. But yet, I wasn't scared. I had accepted my defeat. There was nothing I could do now. It was either Issa or he took over my body, and I would never risk Issa's life for anything after all he had done for me. I suddenly felt Uriel's presence beside me. He had free movement in my body and wasn't shy to use it. "Yulia!" He cackled. "You have won, Uriel. You have gotten what you want. So what are you going to do?"Uriel scoffed. His eyes glowed red as he shook his head. "Isn't it quite obvious? I'm going to bring about destruction to the world!" He roared. "None of these people deserves to live. I will plunder, I will kill, I will torture until the world turns red and it rains the blood of the fallen." Beneath all that
~MILESUpon hearing Davina's words, Iris sank to despair. She slowly slid down to the ground against the wall and looked helpless. She was completely broken, knowing her sister had been possessed by evil itself. But it couldn't end like that. I couldn't believe that there was no other way out of this mess. I also hated seeing Iris like that. "Davina," I called her name. Davina ignored me and continued rubbing her face and bruises with a clean cloth. She was grumbling and wincing. "Davina, you heard me the first time.""What? What do you want me to do? To kill myself this time?" She sounded annoyed. "Andrea nearly broke my back. I'm guessing you want me to put my head on the line for you, right?""Watch how you say that!" I hissed at her and glanced back at Iris. She looked very pale, with a dead expression on her face. "Iris isn't in a good place right now."Davina sighed and turned to me. "Fine, tell me what you want."I sighed and moved closer. "There has got to be a way to ke
~JAMAL. Something felt terribly off.I had been placed in a cell in the upper levels, outside the dungeons. Yes, it was better than the one I was locked in before, but the feeling was different. I was still bound by silver chains so I didn't have much freedom of movement inside here either. Atticus who usually came around hadn't set foot in the dungeon since that day. And there was a strange mobilization of men recently. My sharp ears had heard them as they marched outside early in the morning. To cap it all, I had heard the worst rumour from the guards that gossip loudly around my cell. It was either they were incompetent and decided to speak rather loudly when I'm around or they didn't just care about it. Atticus had teamed up with Deucalion. That was all I heard. It could have explained why he hadn't come. I placed my hand on the metal bars of the cell and waited. I had spent less than two days in this new cell but I felt like I was wasting my time here. I glanced at the gu
~YULIA It was a destroyed village, ruined from the foundation to the top. I had never seen destruction on this level before. As I walked into the ruins, I could hear voices whispering. I had read somewhere that the troubled dead would whisper in the ruins of the clan, that was why its location was kept a secret. But now that I heard it, was creepy and I wanted to bolt. But Yara silently assured me it was fine. I came across black roses, growing in the wild and native to the clan. But they had withered and dried up, barely recognizable. A painful image of the rose beside my dead mother flashed in my head and I walked past it. The order of the black rose witches were also responsible for the clan's destruction. I had to find something important. As I ventured deeper into the ruins, the voices got louder and overlapped with each other, creating an incoherent, creepy crowd mumble. I knew it was a way of deterring intruders but I pushed on and entered deeper. The dark energy I had s
~JAMALShe had a mischievous smile on her face. The action looked a lot like what Yulia would do and I understood why they were such good friends. They were very similar. "Why do I feel as if I just sold my soul to the devil?" I asked with a smile. She grinned at me. "Not your soul, pretty boy.
~YULIAIssa smiled as he stood naked before me. I got comfortable on the bed, rested my back against the bedpost and parted my legs deliberately as an invitation for him to come over. His smile grew wider as he slowly climbed on the bed. He slowly crawled to me before kneeling between my legs. I
~ISSAI did not need to guess who was behind this to know that it was Pete and his father. I could taste their disgusting scent on my tongue.“I guess Albus was right,” Jamal said. “The killings were just a distraction.”“So, Pete was in on it from the start?” Yulia asked, her voice tinged with rag
~YULIABloodshed was becoming second nature to me as I watched the heart burn. It did nothing to change how I felt about Mom’s death but at least I was sated that the people behind her murder were dead. Yet it seemed like there was still one person to find.“Let’s get out of here,” Issa said and h
