LOGINSienna's POV
"Rule number two, Absolutely no kissing unless I approve it and I would only do so, if we really have to do it for an audience probably as proof or something but nothing more" I started, my heart beat picking up as he stared at me with a look I couldn't quite explain in his eyes. "That's easy, Blake" He whispered but his eyes held something more, something I don't think I want to know. "Three, no touching me unless there is an audience and I am sure you know how to touch a lady appropriately" I continued. "Well in less than 24 hours we will officially be the couple of the town, and that technically makes you mine" He shrugged. "You seem to be forgetting this is all supposed to be fake right" I rolled my eyes. "You tell me" "Four, No getting jealous, or all that overly possessive shit, if a guy tries to flirt with me, let him. Who knows I may just find the one for me in all of this" I joked watching his face for any reaction but sadly I didn't get it. "Is that all Blake? I am yet to hear something that I actually need to be careful about" He said his face and voice blank. I guess calling me by my last name is here to stay then. "Five, this one is very important. Stay out of my personal life, Julian" I said dead serious. "That means keeping it classy in public and staying out of anything that concerns me in private. We only text for appearances, no late-night conversations unless it is urgent or about the plan, and if you ever notice or see anything you don't like or you think is off, don't try to do anything or fix me" I explained. His face morphed into one of confusion as I said the last part, just as expected. "What do you mean?" He asked adjusting himself. "Nothing that concerns you, Julian, just respect my rules," I said in a straight voice. This is the only way to make sure everything stays hidden just like it has always been since it happened. "I don't think I like this one so much" He murmured. "Doesn't change the fact that you have to keep to it" "That should be all right?" He breathed, his facial expression was enough to know his hesitation about the last rule but it just has to be. "Six, If either of us ever catches feelings, we end it, immediately" I concluded. "That won't be happening Blake, except you don't trust yourself" He chuckled staring at me with raised eyebrows like he was waiting for me to flop in some way. "It is you I don't trust" "If that is the case, I guess we have no problems then cause there is no way it is happening," He said with so much certainty. " I am done now, you can state your rules," I said with an air quote leaning back on the sofa. "Unlike you, I just have one rule which I take very seriously" "One rule? Really" I chuckled, here I was thinking he was about to come up with a long list of outrageous things. "Let's hear it then" I encouraged. "I take this very seriously, no matter who it may be, or what the issue is, never lie to me, Blake. I don't care if this whole thing is fake but I won't be made a fool" He stated his voice low and firm. "If you ever want out, say it. If you hate me so much you can't keep going, say it but don't lie, don't pretend, not with me" He added, his no-nonsense tone making me more nervous than I thought I was. "Are we clear, Blake?" He asked when it was clear he wasn't going to get an answer from me. "Yes...we are" I murmured. Everything just keeps giving me more reasons why this is a bad idea. "Good, now I will draft the contract and send it to you before the end of tomorrow," He said shooting up from where he sat. "Wait tomorrow? Like we are starting this tomorrow?" "No, Blake" He answered dryly staring at me like I just asked a dumb question. " Oh thank goodness" I breathed out in relief. "We start now" He added killing my joy that was yet to fully establish. "Now? No way" I quickly opposed. "Why not now? What's the difference between now and tomorrow?" He asked actually looking confused. "I need time, at least a day" "Well, I am sorry but I can only give this night off because we have to make an appearance tomorrow night at the charity gala my company is holding" He stated. Charity Gala? "What charity gala? We haven't even signed the contract yet and you are already planning to carry me around like some doll?" I spat. "And before then, we need to be seen together so it doesn't look suspicious meaning we have to have lunch together, somewhere people can easily see us" He continued ignoring my outburst. "Didn't you hear what I said?" "Look Blake, you can assume whatever it is you want to assume, but to make this as believable as possible we need to do all of this. I can't go to the charity gala with someone else and then claim to be dating you and neither can I go alone, our plan will flop before it can even start" He sighed watching me like I was some child. "But can't we just go for the other ones that are yet to come, we don't have to start immediately" "The walls have ears, we have been in here for quite some time, we have to start from now to give them something or things might just not work out. Picture how it will be if we go our separate ways tonight and then appear tomorrow night together, it wouldn't seem off to you?" He reasoned. "I just knew this was a bad idea" I murmured. "What are you saying then?" I asked with a loud sigh. Sienna and always making terrible decisions she can't back out on. " I am saying you let me take you home tonight, tomorrow I come pick you up for lunch, and then take you to the gala" He answered shrugging his shoulders like it is totally normal for him to just start dating someone they barely know out of the blue. " I can just meet you at the restaurant for lunch no need to come get me yourself, I could also do so for the Gala too" I tried to reason. "Blake, I understand your hesitation, and trust me I feel the same way too. In fact, I am here asking myself over and over again why I came up with but we both want something out of this so we just have to " "Speaking of wanting something out of this, what's your aim? What are you getting from this?". I have been too focused on the idea of all of this I forgot to ask. "Do you think you are the only one tired of random blind dates?" He shot, his tone picking up. " I just asked a question, why the tone?'' l asked taken aback by his sudden tone. Why did he sound so defensive? Like he was trying to cover up something. "Well..." He drifted off. "You should know I wouldn't do this for nothing" "It wouldn't have cost you anything to say so rather than answering me the way you did," I said offended. "It is getting late already, we better get going tomorrow is going to be a long day" He spoke up, his eyes fixed on the expensive watch on his lifted wrist. What a way to change the topic without even bothering to apologize, he has a lot coming his way if this is the attitude he is going to be giving me.Sienna's POVI have not gone out in three days.Funny, right? The same workaholic Sienna who could never stay home has been indoors for three days but, as sad as it is, that isn't even what is bugging me most.Lila is.She hasn't responded to even one out of the over a million messages I sent her or the thousand calls. It's like she just cut me off, and I hate the mere thought of that.It is very obvious she is seeing all my messages and calls. She isn't even hiding that fact.Julian obviously didn't buy my pathetic lie of being sick, just like my many other lies, but he didn't push either. He simply ignored my message, but I got a get-well letter from Leah, which was all I needed. I don't think I would have been able to say anything reasonable to him if he had even attempted a conversation, so silence works for me too.A small knock sounded in the room and then the door was pushed open, revealing a very excited Brittany."Grandma says dinner is ready," she beamed, already running off
Sienna's POV "Lila, please. I can explain. It's not what it looks like," I pleaded, trying to reach out to her with my now shaky hands. "It is exactly what it looks like, Sienna. Gosh, I can't believe you. Sienna, you have been lying to my face all this while, and I was always checking up, even threatened to beat up your boss, not knowing this boss is the same man you assured me you loved. I asked you countless times, Sienna. I asked you over and over again if there was anything I needed to know about, and you lied every single time, even when you knew I suspected something was wrong. It never occurred to you to at least say something before I found out myself? I told myself every single time that you trusted me and respected me enough to speak to me, that I didn't need to go snooping around. Fuck, you even said it was fate. You joined me in my stupid antics about him every single time, and never for once did it occur to you to tell me the truth. What else are you hiding from me, Sie
Julian's POVI haven't heard a word from Sienna after she angrily left in a taxi this morning. I didn't reach out, and neither did she.I instructed Arnold to take her bags to her hours ago, but she couldn't even text to let me know if she had gotten them.“Exactly what I get for being a douchebag,” I sighed as I dialed Leah's desk.“Sir,” she answered almost immediately.“Did you check in with Arnold?” I asked. She hesitated before answering, which got me confused. “Yes, sir, I did, over an hour ago.” She sounded shocked by my question, like she was expecting a different question.“Is anything the matter?”“You have not seen it yet, sir?” Her voice wavered a little as she spoke, and that was all it took for me to know something had gone terribly wrong.“Come to my office right away,” I demanded, ending the call before I could get a response from her.I saw it before she could get here , the words staring back at me like a slap to my face:“CEO billionaire lawyer, Julian Thorne, caugh
Sienna's POV"Welcome back, Miss Blake. Welcome back, Mr. Thorne," Julian's driver said as he opened the door for us, while two other men loaded our bags into the trunk of the car."Thank you," I beamed, but Julian just nodded, his face blank. He had been this way all morning; he had only said a few words to me, and that was because of my panic. He had suggested we drive back, but that would have meant long hours on the road, so I pushed until he agreed to us taking a plane back.He stayed by my side throughout, ensuring I felt safe. I had lost it, but not as much as I would have if he wasn't there. He held my hands, singing to me like he had done before, but this time I was more aware of what was happening. Although, with how things are going, I doubt he would ever want me to mention it.My phone buzzed in my purse, snapping me back to reality. Lila's picture popped up on my screen, making me smile."Hey," I greeted softly as I picked up."My girl is back!" she squealed excitedly. My
Julian’s POV “We can stop if you really don’t want to talk about it,” she said softly, sitting up a little.I hated talking about Ethan, but not as much as I hate talking about our father.“It’s fine; you asked about Ethan and I, I can manage that.” I breathed, moving my eyes back to the city below us. Sienna’s deep gaze remained fixed on me like she was trying to see through me.“Our father... let’s just say he was one messed up man.” I continued, that day replaying in my head like it was yesterday.“He had the money to send us both to college without even blinking; he didn’t need any scholarship to assist, but no, he just decided not to. Even when Ethan and I got our scholarships, he blatantly refused to cover up the rest of Ethan’s bill the scholarship couldn’t cover. He outright asked Ethan to fight me for my spot, and Ethan did. Ethan was our dad’s favorite despite everything, so he believed our father would give in and just help Ethan at some point, but oh boy was I wrong.
Julian’s POVFlashback (15 years ago)“You have to back out, Julian. That scholarship spot is mine,” Ethan sneered as he walked into my room, headphones around his neck, hands in his pockets, like he simply came to borrow something and not ask me to forfeit the one thing that might be my only chance at a better life.“If you didn't come here to say anything reasonable, you might as well leave,” I said calmly, not even looking up from the book I was reading."This doesn't sound serious to you?" “If it did, you would know.”“You better not test me, dear brother, or things will get really ugly,” he threatened. His voice was serious, but this time, I didn’t care. I couldn’t afford to care, not when my whole future depended on this.“Do your worst, Ethan.”He really did his worst... he got me out of the house earlier than I planned, which would have left me homeless if not for Aunt Margot.*** End of Flashback ***“Would you like me to get you anything, Sir?” the housekeeper ask
Sienna's POV"How did you both meet?" Alex started watching us with keen interest. What a typical first question to ask presumed lovers right??"We first met one year ago at my company's last year's charity gala and she caught my attention immediately, but she wasn't mine to claim then and I had to
Sienna's POVJulian's body went rigid against mine, his face morphing into one of sheer anger."Sienna, let's go," Julian instructed, grabbing my hand, not too tight, but I could feel his urgency."Come on, why are you in a hurry, dear brother?"Brother? He has a brother?I pulled back to carefully
Julian’s POV "If you actually want this meeting to hold I advice you don't use that term again" I warned trying to contain the anger that was brewing in my heart."Come on,don't be like that. We are brothers aren't we?" Ethan chuckled walking closer to me,a mischievous hlint in his eyes that fuele
Sienna's POV I watched the roads pass by, the city lights illuminating the beautiful city. A car had arrived in no less than fifteen minutes after I had called Leah and now we were on our way to wherever Julian was.Something in me kept pulling at me trying to tell me that this was a bad idea but
