Asia's POV

The elevator ride back up to the penthouse felt ten times longer than the ride down.

We had just finished dinner with Monroe and Chanel.

“Not bad for the first round. You didn’t freeze up completely.”

I let out a shaky breath and stepped away, putting some distance between us.

 “Monroe didn’t believe it…Not fully,he kept pushing.”I said

 “He’s suspicious because he knows you,”

“Tomorrow night we’re doing this again,harder,but for now…”

He stepped closer, backing me toward the plush sofa. “We need to make sure you can handle being close to me without looking like you want to run.”

My back hit the arm of the sofa.“I can handle it.”

 “Prove it.”In split seconds he cupped my face with one large hand and kissed me again.

This one wasn’t for show,it was slower, deeper, testing.

His mouth moved against mine with controlled hunger, tongue brushing my lower lip until I gasped.

My hands came up to his chest, fingers curling into his shirt without thinking. For a moment I held back,then I kissed him back I got lost in the taste of him and the solid heat of his body.

Then his phone buzzed sharply on the nearby table.

Eden pulled back with a low growl, glancing at the screen.

 “Monroe,”He sighs.”He wants to meet me privately,says it’s urgent.”

I nodded quickly, relieved for the break. “Okay,I’ll wait here.”

“No.” Eden’s voice was firm.

He straightened his shirt. “You’re coming with me,my Fiancée must always be with me.”

A few minutes later,we were in the dimly lit private lounge off the main bar.

Monroe was already there, alone this time without Chanel.

 He had two glasses of whiskey waiting on the low table.

“Mr Gregory,” Monroe said, standing with that fake smile.“Glad you could make it. And you brought….your fiancée.”

Eden kept his hand on my waist as we sat. I stayed quiet, playing the part, my body tense.The conversation started normal,contracts, energy deals, tech investments,they both went on.

Eden’s voice stayed calm and commanding, but I could feel the tension in his body beside me.

Monroe kept glancing at me, his eyes lingering too long on my legs, my chest.After twenty minutes, Eden’s phone rang.

 “I need to take this important call from my team.”He stood, squeezing my shoulder.

“Don’t move.”Before I could protest, he stepped outside the lounge, leaving me alone with Monroe.

Monroe leaned forward,eyes narrowing.“Cut the bullshit Asia,I know this is fake.”

“You? Engaged to Gregory Eden? Please,you're still the same broke girl I dumped years ago.”

I stood up fast, heart pounding. “You don’t know anything about my life now.”

He stood too, moving quicker than I expected,then he grabbed my wrist, yanking me closer.

His other hand came up to my waist, gripping hard.

“I know enough,”he hissed

“You’re playing a dangerous game,”

“But maybe I can help you… for old times sake.”

His hand slid lower, squeezing my ass roughly, pulling me against him.

Panic exploded in my chest,I tried to shove him away, but he was stronger, backing me against the wall.

“Get off me!”I gasped,struggling.

Monroe laughed low and ugly.

“Come on,Asia drop the act.”

 “We both know you need money,I can make this easy for you,one night with me and I’ll even throw in some cash,”

“Better than whatever fake shit you’re doing with him.”

His hand forced its way under my blouse, rough fingers digging into my skin as he pressed his body against mine, trying to kiss my neck.

Terror and rage mixed inside me.

I shoved harder, knee aiming up, but he blocked it, laughing again.

Suddenly the lounge door slammed open,Eden stormed.

 One look at Monroe’s hands on me and his face turned murderous, in two strides he was across the room.

His fist connected with Monroe’s jaw with a sickening crack,Monroe staggered back, releasing me.

Eden didn’t stop,he grabbed him by the collar and slammed another punch into his gut,then his face again,beating the hell out of him with raw controlled fury.

Monroe crumpled to the floor, blood on his lip, groaning.

Eden stood over him, breathing hard, voice solid.

 “Touch her again and I’ll end you,”

“Stay the fuck away from my fiancée.”he gritted.

He turned to me, eyes still blazing with anger, without a word he grabbed my hand and pulled me out of the lounge, moving fast through the hotel corridors.

We didn’t go back to the penthouse,instead,he led me straight out a side entrance to a waiting black car. We drove in tense silence for twenty minutes until we reached a private marina. A sleek, luxurious yacht waited under the moonlight.

Eden helped me aboard, his grip gentler now but still firm.

The deck was beautiful.

He took me to a private cabin area with plush seating and a stunning view of the sea.

Only when we were alone on the yacht, the city lights of Paris fading behind us, did he speak.

“You okay?” he asked, voice rough.

I nodded, rubbing my wrist where Monroe had grabbed me,my body won’t stop shaking.

Eden stepped closer, cupping my face with both hands this time. His thumbs brushed my cheeks.

“He won’t touch you again,I promise.”The anger in his eyes slowly shifted into something hotter.

He leaned in, lips hovering just above mine.

“Tonight… you’re staying with me on this yacht,no more games for show…just us.”His mouth brushed mine,soft at first, then deepening with raw need.

Clothes started coming off,his shirt,my blouse.

His hands explored my body with hungry possessiveness, kissing down my neck, my collarbone.

We moved toward the large bed in the master cabin,Eden lowered me onto it, his body covering mine, lips and hands everywhere.

He was about to take it further, fingers hooking into my pants, when my phone suddenly rang on the nearby table.

Eden pauses above me, his chest rising and falling against mine, eyes dark with heat.

I reach for the phone, my fingers clumsy, still caught between desire and something I can’t name yet.

Then I see the number.

Unknown.

“I… I need the restroom,” I whisper, already pulling away.

Inside the bathroom, I lock the door with shaking hands.

The phone is still ringing.

Once.

Twice.

Three times.

It stops.

Silence.

My heartbeat thunders so loud it fills my ears.

Then,it rings again.

I answered this time.

“Hello?” My voice comes out thin.

For a second, there’s nothing.

Just static.

Then a voice.

Calm.

Too calm in a way that screamed trouble.

“Asia?”

My grip tightens around the phone. “Who is this?”

A soft chuckle.

“You will find out soon,”

“Now, you listen.”His tone was cold.

My throat dries instantly.

“We have your mother.”

The words don’t land at first.

They just… float.

“What?” I laugh, but it sounds wrong. “What do you..”

A sound cuts me off.

Muffled.

Weak

“Asia…”

My blood freezes.

“Mum?” My voice cracks.“Mum?”

I heard a sharp sound of a smack,followed by her scream.

Everything inside me collapses.

“STOP!” I pleaded. “Stop,please,stop.”

“Thirty thousand dollars,” the voice cuts in smoothly. “Since your sister decided to run away, you'd pay her debt.”

My breathing turns erratic.

“Thirty thousand or she dies.”

“No,no please don't,”

The call ended before I could continue.

Silence.

I stare at the phone like it might come back to life.

Like this isn’t real.

Like I didn’t just hear my mother scream.

My knees gave out.

I hit the floor hard, the cold tiles biting into my skin as my breath comes in sharp, broken gasps.

My mind was in chaos.

Thirty thousand dollars

Another sob claws its way up my throat, but I choke it down,pressing my fist against my mouth.

I looked around,I thought of Eden, I can't go back to the room.

I can't bring him into my mess.

I looked up the window.

Small.

Too small.

But I don’t care.

I just move.

  • Fake Fiancée, Real Boss   Chapter 35

    ~~~Asia's POV~~~By the time I got downstairs, George was still there.Which surprised me.Not because he was waiting.Because he looked like he hadn't moved.The lobby bustled around him in the usual afternoon chaos. Employees came and went through the revolving doors. Phones rang behind reception. Security greeted visitors. Yet George stood near one of the large windows overlooking the street, hands shoved into his pockets, staring outside like he'd forgotten where he was.For a moment, I simply watched him.The bouquet was over, at least.Thank God.Small victories.I walked toward him, my heels clicking softly against the polished floor."George."He turned immediately.Something crossed his face.Relief maybe.Gone too quickly for me to be sure."Hey."I stopped beside him.The city stretched beyond the glass behind us, traffic moving steadily through the afternoon while sunlight reflected off nearby buildings.Neither of us spoke right away.The silence wasn't uncomfortable exac
  • Fake Fiancée, Real Boss   Chapter 34
    Eden's POV"Do you think people can care about someone and still make them feel trapped?"The question followed me all the way back to my office.I shut the door behind me and dropped the Henderson file onto my desk.Then stood there.Staring at absolutely nothing.Because somehow, after everything that had happened over the past few weeks, that single question was the one thing I couldn't stop thinking about.I loosened my tie slightly and sank into my chair.First I walk into her office and find her husband standing beside her desk with enough flowers to supply a wedding venue.Then five minutes later she's asking me if someone can care about a person and still make them feel trapped.The timing wasn't exactly subtle.I leaned back slowly.Maybe she was talking about George.Maybe.But another possibility had been irritating me ever since I left her office.What if she meant me?The thought settled heavily in my chest.Because if I was being honest with myself.and I generally hated
  • Fake Fiancée, Real Boss   Chapter 33
    Asia's POVThe second George walked around my desk, I knew I was in trouble.Not actual trouble.The complicated kind.The kind that made guilt settle heavily in your stomach because someone was trying to be kind and all you wanted was space."You don't have to carry everything yourself."His hand rested lightly against my shoulder.Friendly and supportive gesture.I guess?At least it should have felt normal.Instead, my entire body went strangely stiff. I hated that because George wasn't doing anything wrong.Not really.He wasn't grabbing me.Wasn't yelling.Wasn't demanding anything.Yet lately every interaction felt loaded with something neither of us was saying out loud.I opened my mouth, trying to find a response that wouldn't hurt his feelings.Trying to find a way to explain that gratitude and affection weren't the same thing.That just because he'd helped me didn't mean I belonged to him.But before I could say anything the office door opened.Neither of us looked immediate
  • Fake Fiancée, Real Boss   Chapter 32
    Asia's POVTWO DAYS AFTER PARISBy ten o'clock, I had already regretted coming back to work.Not because of the workload.I loved work.Work made sense.Numbers made sense.But somehow, I was still overwhelmed with everything that has happened and what led me to this job in the first place.I stared at the quarterly reports on my screen while accomplishing absolutely nothing.The cursor blinked at me, mocking me.Twenty five emails remained unanswered.Two meetings sat on my calendar.And I'd reread the same paragraph six times without absorbing a single word.Pathetic.A knock sounded against my office door."Come in."The door opened.Sarah, one of the assistants, stepped inside carrying a folder."Good morning." I smiledShe hesitated. “Good morning.”That sounded forced.I wasn't prepared for the next thing Sarah was about to say"There's a man asking to see you."A man?Please don't be"George, he said his name is George."“Your husband.” Her eyes narrowed.I brought my head down
  • Fake Fiancée, Real Boss   Chapter 31
    Asia's POVThe hospital smelled like antiseptic and exhaustion.I hated hospitals.Always had.Maybe because every hallway felt heavy with bad news.Maybe because hope and heartbreak seemed to live side by side inside these walls.Or maybe because right now my mother was sleeping behind one of those doors, and every time I looked at her, I felt guilty for not finding her sooner.The doctors had reassured me three separate times.She was dehydrated.Exhausted.Malnourished.But alive.Very much alive.The word still didn't feel real.I sat beside her bed and watched her sleep, tears burning behind my eyes for what felt like the hundredth time today.A knock sounded softly against the door.I already knew who it was.Eden.My stomach immediately did something ridiculous.I hated that.The door opened slowly.He stepped inside carrying two coffees.How sweet. The man solved every problem like it was a business transaction.I almost smiled.Almost."How is she?" His bass tone sent chills
  • Fake Fiancée, Real Boss   Chapter 30
    Asia's POVBy the time I arrived at the location, my heart felt like it was trying to hammer its way through my ribs. Each beat was a brutal reminder that I was alone.Truly alone. In the belly of whatever nightmare waited for me.The abandoned warehouse crouched near the river like a dying beast, half-swallowed by shadows and flanked by rusted shipping containers that leaned against each other like drunks. Graffiti scarred the corrugated walls in faded, angry slashes. Broken glass glittered faintly under the weak security lights that still somehow worked. This was the kind of place people avoided even in daylight. The kind of place chosen on purpose because screams here would drown in the wind and the rush of the Seine.The sky had already surrendered to night. Heavy, low hanging clouds pressed down on Paris, pregnant with rain that hadn’t yet decided to fall. A cold wind whipped across the empty lot, carrying the metallic tang of rust, river rot, and distant diesel. I pulled my coat
    Asia’s POV‘Bring him and we kill your mother.’The words burned into my skull so violently my knees almost gave out.For a second, the site disappeared.No rain.No Paris.No Eden standing in front of me.Just those words replaying over and over in my head like a death sentence.My mother, they wa
  • Fake Fiancée, Real Boss   Chapter 27
    Eden’s POVThe moment Asia saw the photo, her entire body went rigid beside me.She didn't look shocked anymore, it had become normal to her, something that was part of her, she had gone numb to everything, and it made the anger in me intensify.The image filled the screen between us.Her mother ti
  • Fake Fiancée, Real Boss   Chapter 25
    I woke up to darkness and panic.For one disoriented second, I forgot where I was.Then Paris came back slowly.The hotel suite.The rain. Eden.The messages. My mother.The weight slammed back into my chest so violently it stole the remaining sleep from my body instantly.I sat up too fast, breat
  • Fake Fiancée, Real Boss   Chapter 22
    Eden’s POVNeither of us moved.The silence between us felt different now. Not awkward. Not tense in the usual way we had somehow perfected over the last few months.This was worse.Softer.The kind of silence that made you aware of breathing, eye contact, and the dangerously small amount of space
