Jordan's POV

The gap between us was almost closed, just a tiny space that even an insect wouldn't fit and just then, a sharp sound shot through the air and destroyed the moment, or maybe, saved me I guess.

The door flung open and Sienna, the housekeeper was just a few seconds from flipping the curtain open when his growl shook the building.

“Don't come in. I didn't call for you!” He scolded and my heart sank. Thank the heavens!

“Forgive me.” She begged frantically and quickly turned away.

He turned to me now with a face devoid of any emotions and turned away. Slowly, he let go of my hand now,it wasn't sudden, it was a controlled release, as if he knew what he was doing.

My skin remained glued to the wall in shame as I couldn't even take a step forward.

He calmly picked up his briefcase and didn't look at me anymore. His footsteps echoed softly, following that same rhythmic pattern that made my heart flutter. His scent slowly disappeared and my eyes wouldn't let go of him. A deep breath escaped my lips and his hand tightened on the case, as if he felt it.

“I'll be back later,” her tiny shaky voice pleaded and I snapped out of my lingering insanity.

“Give me a minute,” I begged.

Immediately, I took of my muddy shirt and wiped the cum off the floor and called her in before running to my room.

Without hesitation, I slipped into the shower, my head still dizzy and confused about what had just happened.

The water seeped into my skin and my mind was clogged with thoughts I couldn't fathom.

So if she hadn't walked in?

Nah, snap out of it. Fuck no! Alpha Lorenzo would never! I'm just the jerky one and he even saved me.

The water freely flowed on my skin, washing away the thick mud, but an annoying sound kept on disturbing the peace and quiet.

“Who's that fellow?!” The words came out angrily as my feet stumped hard and I got out.

Who's disturbing my phone?

Water was still dripping off my body when my hand reached for the phone, the droplets wetting the screen softly.

It was none other but Killian.

“Hey…”

“I'm at the living room…”

“Come on…”

“Come meet me…”

“Say something…”

A sigh escaped my lips and the soft thud of the phone against the bed followed. Thereafter, I dried my skin and put on a short, ready to sleep now after an awkward day when a soft knock echoed on the door.

“Come in,” my voice rang out, my face stealing a glance at who it was.

The door creaked softly as it opened and the lock rattled softly as it closed and footsteps followed.

His familiar scent filled the room, making it difficult to breathe.

“What?!”

He didn't say a word, his footsteps just lingered until he was standing over me, his gaze locked on me with that annoying smile he normally used when he wanted to apologize me, or better still, fool me.

“Come on, Jordan.” His brows were raised as he stared at me and huffed softly.

“Come on?”

A deep sigh escaped his lips and the bed sank softly and his skin pressed against mine.

“Just go away, I don't want to talk to you.” How presence alone was disgusting to me now.

“Jordan, I'm sorry.” He finally apologized, his voice low and somewhat remorseful.

My mind was already heavy with lots of thoughts and I wanted to vent, I needed to scream and I couldn't help it. The urge was a searing feeling burning and forced me up to grab him by the throat and looked him straight in the eye with the sizzling rage burning in my eyes.

“You attacked me!” I slammed immediately. “You pushed me! You knew I couldn't shift! You fucking knew! You're a monster!” I cursed, my grip tightening on him.

My voice only grew louder and his stare was consistent and didn't break. Slowly, he brushed his fingers on my cheek, and moved down to my neck.

But I shoved him away.

“Don't touch me! You attacked me back there! What do you have to say about that?!”

But he bit his lower lip and stared at me in a way I couldn't help. His scent filled the air and diffused into my soul, slowly stiring up the feelings in me.

“I hate you,” I smiled softly, staring at him sheepishly.

He leaned in further now, our lips crashed into each other and it was beautiful.

The heat from his body was a feeling I had missed, one I had yearned for, he just thrived at pissing me off.

He paused for a second and stared at me, with those seductive golden eyes.

“You still mad at me?” He chuckled.

“Yes,” I feigned, trying to force a stern look but he held me closer and kissed me again.

And again, and another.

“How about now?” He laughed.

I hesitated for a second, my heart was fluttered with weird feelings and my face was glowing with sheepish smiles.

“Yes,” I retorted and looked away, folding my arms like a two year old would do.

“Liar.”

He pulled me closer now and hugged me.

“You know I didn't like what you did back there…”

He didn't let me finish, he just grabbed my face and kissed me again, shutting me up.

A soft smile crossed my lips as I felt butterflies peacefully moving in my belly, a feeling I hadn't experienced in quite a while.

My hand reached for his face and I held him, sniffing him gently and moaning softly as I pressed his hamd against my dick.

My lips crashed into his again, this time, passionately, hot and dangerous, not wanting to pull back and he let out a soft sigh.

Slowly, he pulled away and held me firmly as I didn't want to let go.

“Jordan, my dad's home. We can't be doing this now, not here,” he scolded.

“Shit, come on, let's go somewhere else…”

But his voice shot back at me.

“No. I already told you before. We can't be caught together. You know what that means for me!”

That was the same thing he has said. Anytime we wanted to get intimate, he'll pull away, I thought he would change, but days turned to weeks and then months now, he hasn't touched me.

He's starved me all these while and I don't blame him. I blame the moon goddess for mating me to him.

A strange weakness enveloped me and I dropped back to the bed in defeat.

He smiled warmly at me.

“Don't worry, soon. But for now, get some rest. Tomorrow the pack would be celebrating the win and also, my alpha ceremony,” he kissed my forehead warmly.

“I love you, Jordan,” he whispered as he was about to close the door.

I just nodded, broken and wounded.

Killian's POV "You're doing it again," Lorenzo said, leaning against the balcony railing with an amused smile as he nudged my shoulder. "You've been standing here watching Jordan for almost ten minutes, and I'm starting to think you're more obsessed with him now than when we first met."I laughed quietly, refusing to look away from the training grounds below where Jordan stood surrounded by a group of young wolves. "Can you blame me?" I asked, folding my arms across my chest. "There was a time I wasn't sure he'd live long enough to see peace, and now I get to watch him enjoy it every single day."Several months had passed since Silas died, yet I still caught myself expecting disaster to appear around every corner. Instead, every morning greeted us with something wonderfully ordinary. Builders no longer repaired broken walls because of war. They expanded homes for growing families, strengthened old structures and planned for a future everyone finally believed would come. The territory

Jordan's POV"If either of you snores in my ear one more time, I swear I'll start sleeping in another room," I grumbled as I slowly opened my eyes, already regretting the fact that I was wedged between two grown wolves who somehow managed to take up an entire king-sized bed without feeling the slightest bit guilty about it.Killian laughed softly beside me before lazily turning onto his side to face me, his hair a complete mess from sleep and his smile so relaxed that it almost looked unfamiliar after everything we had survived. "You make that threat every morning, Jordan, and every morning you wake up in exactly the same place, so forgive me if I'm not taking you very seriously."Lorenzo let out an exaggerated yawn before stretching both arms above his head, looking entirely too pleased with himself. "Besides, if anyone should be complaining, it's me. Killian nearly pushed me off the bed in his sleep, and somehow you're acting like you're the victim here."I couldn't stop myself from

JORDAN'S POVThe silence came so suddenly that I forgot how to breathe. One moment, Killian and Lorenzo were inside the convergence with me, their emotions close enough for me to recognize, and the next, every thread was gone. Reef disappeared, Mara disappeared, and even the oldest Anchor's ancient presence vanished until I stood completely alone. When I opened my eyes, I was in the eastern forest, except there was no sky above the trees and no life beneath my feet. I called Killian and Lorenzo, then Reef and Mara, but nobody answered. Worse, when I reached for my Anchor ability, I found nothing.“Your mother made the same mistake,” Silas said behind me.I turned and found him between the trees. He explained that neither of us had left the ceremonial hall. The convergence had stripped me down to the original Anchor pattern, and his severed bond allowed him to enter the same space. According to him, I could still restore every thread and complete the original release.“And Mara replace

LORENZO'S POV“You really don't remember me, Alpha?” Silas asked, and the faint smile on his face remained as he added, “I was the healer who placed Jordan in your arms the night his parents died.”The memory hit me so hard that my stomach turned. For a moment, the ceremonial hall disappeared, and I was standing in the packhouse infirmary again with the smell of blood and medicine thick in the air. Jordan had been unconscious in Silas's arms, his clothes stained with blood that I had been too afraid to ask about, while his chest rose so weakly I remembered wondering whether the boy would survive the night.“You,” I whispered, staring at Silas as his younger face finally settled over the older one standing before me.Twenty years had changed him. His hair was grey now, his face thinner, and age had carved lines around his eyes, but I remembered the calm voice that had told me Jordan's parents were dead. I remembered Silas saying the people who attacked them might return for the child a

KILLIAN'S POV“Don't move toward him,” Vale shouted as the pressure inside the room suddenly changed, but his warning barely reached me before my body reacted. The command did not sound like a voice in my head. There were no words spoken aloud and no stranger whispering through the convergence. It felt older than language, buried somewhere beneath instinct, and by the time I understood what was happening, I had already taken a step toward Jordan. I forced myself to stop and dug my heels into the floor, fighting the need to close the remaining distance between us.Across the room, my father had done the same thing. One of his feet remained slightly forward, and his hand was pressed against his chest as though he could physically hold his bloodline still. Reef gripped the strategy table so tightly that a crack spread beneath his fingers, while Mara remained on her knees with silver slowly swallowing the natural colour of her eyes.Jordan stood in the middle of all of us, breathing far t

LORENZO'S POV“Everyone out except Vale and Eli,” I ordered.“No,” Jordan replied.I closed my eyes for one second before looking at him. “Of course.”Jordan remained beside the oldest Anchor's bed and said, “He's been holding the original convergence pattern back alone. We are not abandoning him now.”“Have you forgotten the part where touching an unstable bloodline thread threw you into Mara's body earlier today?” I asked.“I remember it perfectly,” Jordan replied.“Then move away from the bed.”“No.”“Jordan,” Killian said, “I agree with my father.”Jordan turned toward him. “Wonderful. The two of you finally agree on something, and it has to be this.”The oldest Anchor opened his eyes weakly and complained, “Could all of you stop arguing? You are making dying considerably less peaceful.”“You are not dying,” Jordan told him.The old man's mouth twitched as he said, “You have developed an unfortunate habit of telling ancient wolves what they are allowed to do.”“He does it to every

Jordan's POV Shame washed over me as I laid on the floor, unable to raise my head. The pain of being beaten and thrown in the mud and the humiliation from their mockery was nothing close to what I felt now.His presence was suffocating, or maybe, I had forgotten how to breathe. Jordan's POV My eyes were reddened and slowly darkening as the loud growls were just few inches away from me mid air when I felt a tight grip pull me out of their way and the resounding echoes and vibrations as they thudded against the ground and sprayed me and the others mud and it shook my soul.

Jordan’s POV “We did it!” Joanna’s voice was still audible despite the loud thumping of the bass speakers that shook the window frames. Her hands moved slowly over Killian's chest and I just watched in shame and completely speechless. I didn't dare say a word of course, not today. After winning t
