Nadia’s POV

My heart hammers frantically against my ribs as I watch Lorenzo walk to my uncle and crouch down in front of him.

“I want her. Consider it a repayment of your debt. Also, here is seven million dollars. Do not come for her in future, I’m paying you pretty well for her.” He says as he throws a check at my uncle’s face.

My chest tightens. I could not believe what was happening. My uncle crawls and picks up the check from the ground. “Yes, Lorenzo. You can take her, she’s all yours.” I look at him, hatred burning through my gaze.

Lorenzo walks toward me and crouches down, drew in his cigar and puffs the smoke on my face, “you belong to me now, but I will give you time to digest everything.” he says, tangling a strand of my hair in his fingers before grabbing my chin and pulling me closer to him.

“Seven days, piccola. Crawl to me or I take you by force.” He whispers loud enough for everyone to hear, releases my chin and straightens up, then he walks out of the living room with his people following closely behind him.

Tears burns my vision. I blink hard trying to understand what just happened.

Did he just purchase me like I am some item? How did things turn out this way.

I take my gaze to my uncle and I could see the satisfied grin on his face as he stares at the check.

“You really are not selling me to him, are you? You definitely are not.” I mutter.

He scoffs and look at me, “the deal’s been made, Nadia. You belong to him now.” He says, his face void of any emotion.

I blink back the tears that is already forming in my eyes, what is happening? I was finally going to leave this hellhole soon, and now this?

“I won’t accept this. I won’t!” I yell at them. My aunt gets furious and slap me, the force sends my head sideways, the metallic taste of copper filling my mouth.

“You will accept it, whether you want to or not. Consider it a means of repaying us for taking care of you for the past five years!” she yells at me.

The tears i've been trying to hold back finally comes rushing down. "But why? You owe him, not me. Why do I have to pay for something I know absolutely nothing about?” I ask my uncle, staring daggers at him.

“Because you deserve nothing good in life, Nadia, that’s why.” Elena chips in, a big smile on her face.

“Don’t forget you have just seven days to go to him, make the right choice, Nadia. Lorenzo is not someone you can mess with.” my uncle says and walks out of the living room, the three of them follows, leaving me alone.

I let out a bitter laugh, my hands were trembling. I am still suffering the aftermath of what Alex tried to do to me, now this.

Tears flow freely from my eyes. My life has not been easy these past years, and now its about to get a lot worse. I can’t accept this.

I have seven days, I have to leave Italy before then. With a heavy heart, I climb the stairs back to my room, shower and get ready for work. I arrive late at the bar and the manager scolds me.

“Why are you coming this late, Nadia? Do you not want to work here anymore?” He thunders.

“I am sorry. Something happened at home.” I murmur.

“Let this not repeat itself again," he warns and stomps upstairs.

My shoulders slump with a numb sigh as Jaxon rushes over.

“Are you okay? Your look so pale.” he asks, a worried expression on his face.

“I’m fine Jaxon, I’ll go and change now.” I smile softly and walk into the locker room to change my dress, my hands were still trembling. I sigh and walk out after changing.

The day went on at the bar as usual, I keep staring at the door at intervals, hoping he wouldn’t come here again.

I couldn’t sleep the days that follow, I jump at every shadow at the bar, my eyes always looking behind me, checking over my shoulder everytime a black car drives by. I am gradually losing myself.

* * * *

its been five days, andvI haven’t heard anything about Lorenzo, deep down, I pray he totally forgets about me.

I’ve managed to book a flight to Australia, I’ll be leaving tomorrow. My aunt and her family have been totally hostile toward me, pretending like I don’t exist.

“Nadia, can you cover for me? I have somewhere I should be now.” Jaxon pleads, I was already tired from working extra shifts, but I couldn’t refuse him.

“Sure.” I say, he smiles and walks out, while I continued working.

My shift ends at nine and i returnv to the mansion. After taking my shower, I arrange my things properly and go to sleep.

I wake up at four the next morning, quietly shower and get dressed. I grab my bags, tiptoeing down the stairs as I walk out of the mansion to the gate. I already discussed with Max and he promises to help by leaving the gate open at four.

I step out of the gate, the street is eerily quiet, I quickly walk down and head to the bus station. Luckily, an early bus to the airport is waiting. I guess God is helping me.

I arrive at the airport at five, an hour before my flight. We board the plane and wait.

I close my eyes, letting out the first real breath I’d taken in days. My dreams of college were shattered, and I’d have to start at nothing in Australia, but I am free. I made it.

Suddenly, there was a commotion outside, I peer out the small window, my blood turning to liquid ice.

Men in tailored black suits are walking towards the plane, cutting through airport security like they own the runway. I recognize the lead guard instantly.

Lorenzo’s men.

Panic rising in my chest, I bolt from my seat, rushing blindly towards the exit, only to freeze as the cabin door hissed open, i almost crash hard into a broad, solid chest.

“Well, well… we meet again, piccola.”

His voice is a low growl that vibrates through the floorboards. My breath hitches, my legs turning to lead as I stumble backward into the aisle.

“What do you want?” I murmur, he keeps walking closer, his hands in his coat pockets until I collapse into one of the passengers seats. He leans forward and grabs my chin.

“Where do you think you are going? Hmm?” a dangerous glint flashes in his eyes.

“Away from you.” I blurt out, my voice trembling with fear.

“Tsk tsk” he clicks his tongue and digs his fingers deeper into my chin, “I would have been lenient with you if only you did not try to run,” he roughly releases my chin and straightens up.

“You are coming with me,” he states firmly.

I shake my head vigorously in refusal. “No, I am not.”

He scoffs, a dark grin spreading across his lips as he grabs my arm, pulling me up against his chest. “Non provocarmi, piccola.” His expression darkens with every word. “You do not get to negotiate with me.”

That is the last thing I hear before his hand strikes the side of my neck.

Then, the world goes black.

Nadia’s POVIt is almost sunset when we arrive at the estate. The mansion is bustling, the staff moving briskly as they arrange and prepare for the evening. I guess I am the only one who was left in the dark about this dinner gathering.“Mrs Romano, we need to get you ready now,” Clara says softly. “Mr Romano will be back in an hour.”I bite my lower lip, and let out a numb sigh. “Okay,” I mumble, following her upstairs to my room. After a quick shower, I sit down at the vanity dresser and let Clara style my hair.“You have very beautiful hair, ma’am,” she whispers. I offer her a small smile through the glass, but as she sweeps my bangs back, the faint scar on my forehead catches the light, reflecting on the mirror, my mood drifts instantly. Noticing the shift, Clara adjusts the strands to cover it up, then finishes her work without a word.I have never liked makeup, so I ask her to leave my face bare. Once my hair is done, she helps me into the gown she picked out — a stunning, gre

Nadia’s POV My trembling hands grip my nightwear, squeezing the fabric tightly. He threatened to kill Clara just because I overslept a bit? How could anyone be so cruel? “Sit down, Nadia. Or do you want me to help you with that?” His voice breaks the silence, startling me. I quickly slid into one of the seats at the table. I hadn’t even brushed my teeth yet. How am I supposed to eat without brushing? “Why aren’t you eating?” he asks suddenly. I gulp down the lump in my throat. “I haven’t brushed my teeth yet.” I murmur. “And you stay in bed until I had to send a maid to wake you up?” “Um… I… I was feeling a bit tired, so I overslept,” I murmur” He leans back against his chair, his eyes boring holes into my skin. “What do you think you are here for, piccola?” My heart skips a beat. I look up at him, my hand gripping the hard edge of the table. I bite down on my lower lip and decide to ask him a question that has been haunting me for the past two days. “Why did you

Nadia’s POV My body still shudders from aftermath of the wedding today. He is just so brutal. After the ceremony , he orders his guards to take me back to the estate, while he drives in a different direction with a separate convoy. Now that I’m married to him, what next? Will he force himself on me? Because I definitely do not want that. He prepares an exquisite suite for me — lavishly decorated and just a few steps away from his own. I can’t even imagine what he actually has in store for me. A knock on the door startles me. I glance at the wall clock and it is past midnight. I walk over and open it. The maid who was assigned to me stands there, a bowl of fruit in her hand. “I’m sorry for bothering you, Mrs Romano. I notice you didn’t eat anything for dinner, so I brought you some fruit,” she explains. I smile at her. “Thank you, um—“ “Clara, ma’am, “she responds. “Thank you, Clara.” I take the bowl from her and walk back into the room. Taking an apple from the

Nadia’s POV Today is my wedding day. I stare at my reflection in the mirror. A bride is supposed to be happy on her wedding day. But am I? No. Far from it. I am been forced to marry a monster who kills at will, and there is nothing I can do about it. I have no one to fight for me. From now on, I can only depend on myself. “You look extraordinarily stunning, Miss,” the maid who dressed me up whispers, her voice laced with awe. Scoffing bitterly, I look down at the breathtaking white gown, heavily embedded with shimmering crystals. I couldn’t stop the tear that slip down my eye, tracing a path through my makeup. I don’t want this. I have never dreamed of marrying someone I don’t love, and definitely not a man who is binding me to him for some dark, ulterior motives. He already threatens to kill Jaxon and Max if I refuse to comply. He knows that they are the two people left that mean the world to me, and he’s using them as leverage. “The car is ready, Miss,” the maid announ

Nadia’s POV Two days passed, and I have not seen Lorenzo. I haven’t even heard his voice. Today makes it the third day since I arrived in this place — wherever “here” is. He keeps me locked up in this room, feeds me twice a day. Even the maids who comes to clean speaks to me in harsh, commanding tones, treating me like an intruder, rather than a guest. Staring out of the window, I reminisce about what my life used to be when my parents were alive. It was sweet, vibrant and safe. Now, I don’t even know what to call this existence. An abrupt, heavy knock strikes on the door twice before it swings open. A guard walks into the room. “The Don requests your presence in his room. Please come with me,” he says, his tone sharp and intimidating. I swallow the lump in my throat and walk toward the door, following closely behind him. This is the first time I have step out of the room ever since Lorenzo kidnapped me, and the sight that greets me steals air directly from my lungs. The man

Lorenzo’s POV I have been watching her every move for the past six days. I know she is planning to escape. How stupid. Sitting down beside her on the bed, anger builds up in my chest as I stare at the most beautiful woman I’ve ever set eyes on my entire life. My little sister should be around her age now, if only she was alive. Clenching my fist, I stand to my feet and walk out of the room, leaving the ghost of my past behind. “Let me know when she wakes up,” I say to Viktor. “Yes, Don,” he responds. “The ladies are in your room, waiting” “Oh?” A dark smirk curlsmy lips. I need to release some serious tension. I climb the stairs to my quarters and kick the door open. Three women lay stark naked on my bed. “What are your names?” I ask, my voice devoid of warmth. “Mira, Vera, Lucia,” they respond, smiling seductively. “We have been waiting for you, Don Enzo” Mira says, crawling off the mattress. She walks toward me, her hands drawing teasing circles on my chest. I gr

“Nadia’s POV I walked down the street that led to the Bennetts mansion as the event of earlier today replayed in my head. That man is really a devil. They call him the prince of hell, but they are wrong. He is the devil himself. The way his icy blue eyes stared at me, I could feel the hairs on

Nadia’s POV A sharp, agonizing pain pierced my skull as I tried to move, but my limbs wouldn’t respond. Slowly, I forced my eyes open, only to meet pitch darkness. Then realization hit — I was blindfolded, my hands and legs were bound tight, and my mouth was gagged with a piece of clothing. “Mmm
