"I'm carrying his heir. It won’t favor you if you choose to be my enemy," she said, a smirk curling on her lips.

My blood ran cold. This woman had to be out of her mind, right?

I didn’t wait. I threw the door open, dashed out, and went straight to my room. I stayed on my bed, buried under the duvet until evening.

When I finally checked the time, it was already dinner. That’s all I seemed to do in this house. Eat and sleep. Well, except for the laundry duty I earned as punishment.
