LOGINCrystal's POV
Just who the hell is this Lyra? And how is it possible that everyone can't tell that I'm an entirely different person from her? Can I really be her doppelganger, or what in the next level bullshit is this? I squeeze my eyes shut, taking a really deep breath to summon whatever last control I have left in my body. And it works. The room stops spinning for a moment. "You have the wrong person. I'm not Lyra!" Too bad! My words come out slurred, and I want to hit myself for taking too much alcohol. "Really?" His eyebrow—the one with the scar—lifts slightly in amusement. Then his gaze drops to my mouth, then lower, dragging slowly over my cleavages, down to where my thighs press together. When he looks back up, there's heat in his eyes. Dark and dangerous. “Pretending to be someone else won't work on me, Lyra.” He scoffs, flicking my hair slightly. “You even dyed your hair black? Really?” I roll my eyes. This man isn't just hot. He must be deaf too. Grinding my teeth, I snarl. “Can you just listen—” My words die in my throat as he whisks me off my feet, starting towards the bed. “I'm going to ruin you so badly you'll never think of running away from me again.” He says hoarsely. Panic grips me. Oh Goddess. No! I struggle to wriggle out of his arms, but of course,e it's of no use. This man is a strong mass of muscles. His strong arms wrap tightly around my waist as he sets me down on the bed gently. He climbs over me, pinning me down on the bed and holding up his weight with his arms. His lips find the nape of my neck, trailing soft wet kisses that make my stomach flip and tighten in ways Ethan hasn't managed in years. When his fingers find my bare thighs, fire trails along my sensitive nerves. My core starts to throb restlessly, warm heat pooling below. No! This doesn't feel right. A total stranger shouldn't make me feel this way. "I missed you so fucking much. You have no idea." He whispers against mearrs, his fingers working on my body. Goddess! I need to stop him, or I'm going to lose my freaking mind to pleasure. "What the hell are you doing?" I manage a protest. "This is a crime! I'm not Lyra!" "You're drunk!” He laughs. “And yes, you're not Lyra right now. You're the little kitten that's going to be wrecked thoroughly by me tonight!” I'm about to throw a punch at his face as my last resort, but his fingers move suddenly, slipping beneath my gown, past my lacy pantie,s and brushing against my fold. "Fuck!" A moan tears out of my throat, shameless and unhinged. "Apparently, you don't like what I'm doing to you, but you're already drenched from wanting me,” he croaks, his breath hot against my skin. I want to retort. I swear, I want to. But he's already stroking my core, making my mind blow out momentarily. I squeeze my eyes, my body arching and my toes curling. I shouldn't enjoy this! It's all so wrong. But his touch just feels so good. Too good. Maybe this is what I need to do to forget all about Ethan and Serena. It's just one night of fun. How bad can it get? So, yeah. I let myself get lost in the heat and pleasure thrashing through my body. He growls in satisfaction at my submission, a smirk creeping up his face as he rids me of my clothing. His body stiffens as my boobs bounce free. “You're so fucking gorgeous, Lyra!” He breathes, hunger flickering in his eyes. He grabs my breast, nuzzling between them. Then, he thumbs my nipples until they tighten to agonizing points. He suckles the first one, then the other, before moving down my body to kiss my belly. My core tingles with anticipation. I want this man! Hell! I can almost howl at this point. As if on cue, he kisses his way up to my lips. And it's nothing soft. Just fire, passion, and hot white need. His tongue slides down my throat, drawing from my mouth as his life depends on it. I return his kiss with the same intensity, running my fingers through his hair down to his chest. When he breaks the kiss, the room is spinning. His body is also trembling like he can't handle the heat any more than I can. Pressing himself tightly against me, he yanks his towel, letting me touch him— his thick, veiny length. I guided him into me,e and when he settled against my soft, wet core, I fold and unfold. Then he starts to move, thrusting in and out— slow at first. But he soon quickens his pace. “Argh!” I moan, throwing my head back and fisting the sheets. My legs tremble non-stop, and I have to wrap them around his waist as passion threatens to pull me apart. He choked out a gasp, closing his eyes as he thrust even harder. "Oh, fuck!" I can't stop the screams. "You feel so good, Lyra. So good." He groans, voice husky with pleasure. My core starts to spasm around his length just at the same time his thrusts grow wilder, his body boiling. "Fuck, Lyra!" He growls as his body convulses on top of me, shooting spikes of warm liquid inside me. Heat crashes through my body as I hit orgasm. “Oh, yes! Yes!” I implode. THE NEXT MORNING; Sunlight hits my face, snapping me out of my sleep. It's the most peaceful sleep I've had in four years. I feel like I travelled to paradise and came back. Wait! Where am I? The room comes into focus slowly—the massive window, the expensive interior decor, my lingerie hanging from a lampshade. I jerk off on the bed. Shit! Holy shit! What have I done? The man is still on the bed, sleeping soundly. My head is spinning. Did I really just have the best sex of my life with a total stranger? Self-resentment fills me, but the deed has been done already. I need to get out of here. Fast! Before he wakes up and starts calling me "Lyra" again. I quickly grab his shirt from the floor and put it on. "I hope I never see him again., I mutter quietly, throwing one last look at him before slipping out of the room. **** It's been two full days since my fallout with Ethan. Two full days since that extraordinary night with the hot stranger. And yet, I still can't get it out of my head. It was everything I wanted— heat, passi,on and need. Everything Ethan could never give me. Speaking of Ethan, that bastard blew up my phone with numerous calls, telling me to come back. It was so bad I had to change my phone. The truth is, as much as I want to file for a proper divorce, I have no money to hire a good lawyer. Basically, I'm penniless. "You're seriously not gonna go late for the interview, are you?" Olivia yelled from the living room, snapping me out of my thoughts Right! I forgot to mention Olivia. At this point, I practically call her “my saviour”. Because of course, she is. The moon goddess must have finally realized that she gave me more misfortune than anyone can handle— omega rank, wolfless, no family. So, yeah. I was lucky enough to meet Olivia again. We were friends in high school, but we lost contact after straveledled out of the Silvercrest Pack. When we bumped into each other two days ago, and she heard what went down between Ethan and me, she offered to let me move in with her. And even better? Her uncle is currently the head of the HR department at J&J Firms, the company I previously worked for. Fortunately for me, there's a job opening. The company's getting a new CEO, and he'll be needing a secretary. Olivia's uncle recommended me for the job, and the interview is this morning with the CEO himself. "Coming, Olivia!" I squeal as I throw one final look at my reflection in the mirror. At exactly 8 am, I'm already seated in the CEO's reception room, waiting for his arrival. "Miss Crystal Bennette?" A smooth professional voice calls. I look up to see the receptionist. "The CEO will attend to you now." She informs me, walking away before I can ask further questions. Taking a deep breath, I brace myself for whatever outcome the interview is going to take. With graceful strides and—well, jumpy nerves, I make my way to the CEO's office. I ring the doorbell, and the door slides open. I walk in, plastering a smile on my face. A man is seated there in an expensive suit, seemingly engrossed with his computer.qq The office smells faintly of musk cologne and— My breath catches. That scent. It smells so familiar. As if on cue, the man looks up from his computer. And… my stomach drops violently. It's him! The man from two nights ago, who had me howling all night with pleasure. Wait! Is he the new CEO?Crystal POVNo one responded to my statement. It’s quite the hitch, I’d say, because everyone thought they were ready for the storm because we survived the first one. No one wants to go slow on a ship; we want it swift and heading to our destination and back.I’m tired of the stops. I want to return to looking at the charts on the stock market and not staring at a compass held by a captain of a ship.If this was part of the deal initially, trust me, I wouldn’t have involved Olivia in this. But now that she’s in this, she’s even chosen to go deeper and not return to being a famous writer. She wants to live in a land where they grow good food on water and make rum from corn.Alpha Malone walked us back to our ship, and seeing Olivia in new robes that made her feel like royalty, I knew she wanted this type of life. People bowed as she passed; seeing her close to the alpha, they knew she was the new Luna of the pack."I still think you're making a mistake," I whispered as we stood away fr
Crystal POVI wondered why he looked at me before returning his attention back to the arena. I mean, there’s nothing other than a warning. He wanted me to stay off Crusher because he knows that I might get to uncover a lot of secrets.Crusher has become a person of interest, and with this threat, he doesn’t know that he just made me want to get closer to the truth.“This is advice, there’s a huge difference between the two. Just take my advice and continue on with your journey, get to meet Alpha Jayden, and return back to your lives. The world out here isn’t for young people like you.” He said it like he was trying to have me convinced, so let me pretend to be.I turned my eyes back to the fight and saw Crusher tossing Laris to the other stone wall. Crusher had Laris’s blood all over his body, but Laris only had like three successful attacks on Crusher since the inception of the fight.Laris took another opportunity and then dug his knee through his groin. He tried to use his claw, bu
Crystal POVThe cheers that erupted outside shook the walls of the ship.Olivia and I exchanged glances.“They’re already gathering at the arena,” she muttered.I walked toward the door before pausing. “If you truly decide to stay, promise me something.”“What?”“Don’t lose yourself in this place.”Olivia smiled softly. “Only if you promise to stay alive.”I nodded before leaving the cabin. We got out of the cabin and went to the arena. Everyone was getting ready for the fight because the stakes were high. Either Crusher loses his fight, or Alpha Malone loses the family relative connected to his late wife. The atmosphere was different, and I loved it. She chose to be his breeder in exchange for the title of Luna. She’s always wanted to be like me and have a place to rule as well, and here she has the opportunity. I love it for her.The massive pit where Alpha Kieran fought him before, leading him into the sea, was quite the sight, I’d not deny. Besides, seeing that vultures would retu
Crystal POVAlpha Malone and Olivia are two different people who know nothing about each other, so how are they supposed to coexist in less than a day, let alone think about reproduction? I have to speak to her myself and see what she says.I left Alpha Kieran to return to the room while I went to the ship to find Olivia.“Where’s Olivia?” I asked, as one of the crew members pointed to their cabin. I went in to see her and found her lying on the bed, like she was tired.“What’s wrong with you?” I inquired as she moved further into the bed so I could lie close to her.“I’m exhausted. Why would you put that large amount of wine on the list?” She ran her right hand through the hair that fell on my face.“He made the list, not me…”“Why do I have a feeling that you’re here to talk to me about Alpha Kieran?” Olivia hissed as she got up from her bed.“It’s not about him. Alpha Malone has his eyes on you and wants to make you his wife for the sole aim of being a breeder for him.”“Are you dr
Kieran POVStaying back in this pack comes with a lot of extra work, and I knew Lyra wanted to stay back, but she didn’t like my cut either. It’s healing, but an injury like that takes time to heal, and I don’t have a choice.“Brother, there’s no reason to keep me in here. You want me to fight against someone that you know I’d win against; just let me out, and let’s get this over and done with.”“You ruined my art gallery. You don’t know how much it costs to set up those things. Why do you think I don’t let anyone in there?” Alpha Malone stood in front of his cell and spoke to him, keeping his distance from the silver bars.“He came at me first, and he got lucky.”“I don’t believe your words. If someone like him could save his opponent after drowning him, it shows that he only hurts people when it’s necessary, so I don’t believe you. Stay in here, and tonight you start your fights. If you win three consecutive fights, then you have your freedom.” Alpha Malone heaved a deep sigh and co
Crystal POVI was shocked to open my eyes and find myself alone inside the cave, and the doors were closed, but Kieran was nowhere to be found. Where did he go?I had no answer to that question while running my hands through my hair. The weather was soothing, and it felt like the sun was meant for this room; the rays were what woke me up.I stared at the curtains and realized how thick they were. The reason they were shut was to protect against the rays of the sun, but the left side was moved a bit, hence the ray that was directly fixed on my eyes.I got out of the room and found Alpha Malone with a look on his face. I was surprised to see that everyone was on board the ship, and I was the one they were waiting for.“Why do you have a mask around your face?”“My brother-in-law attacked him in the art gallery, and this is a result of the glass I used to cover my artwork,” Alpha Malone divulged as he turned his masked face towards me.I could see the look in his eyes, but I wasn’t scare
Kieran POVWe couldn’t finish all of it, so we left it for the guards to take it back home for their use. crystal wore a suspicious look on her face, still thinking about what happened inside the cafe.“You think so much about the past. Don’t hold that in your mind because it has no value; you’d be
Crystal POV “This line holds the water supply to the pack, but I’ve heard that there’s a pack trying to dig up gold, and in that case, it could contaminate our water supply and leave the pack on the verge of a pandemic.” His father showed the parcel of land on the map, which was the problem of the
Crystal's POV"And by the way, it's Kieran. No need to be so formal now." He adds with a teasing wink.I want to die. My face is a ball of flames. I swallow hard, my heart pounding so violently against my ribcage I'm afraid it might burst out.Am I perhaps ovulating? Or why the hell is my body rea
Crystal's POVOh. My. Goddess. The world just fucking stops spinning. Time stops. My breath stops.I blink.
