Enyo Burnside (Too late to turn back)

The minute I yank my arm free from the prick I shift, that’s when my wolf senses him. I could feel his eyes on me, it both sent a thrill through me and fear. My wolf whimpers as I make her turn away from him, and if I'm honest my heart squeezes tight enough to take my breath away. I need to think, I need to go over the reports that I of the night my parents and Mate were killed; My mate.

The thought of Ben makes me stumble as she lets out a howl of pain, the same pain that burns through me everytime I think of him and the life we could have had. The life that was stolen from me, from us. My family, my future ripped away from me because of the man the Goddess has chosen to Mate me to; how does this work? How fair is this?

I push these thoughts away as the packhouse comes into view and I spot the usual Dylan welcome party standing waiting for the perfect Alpha coming back from war. Makes me sick. The guy is a total wanker, and his bitch Luna is as bad with her pretence.

I slow as I spot Pippa, Dylan's younger sister, who is nothing at all like her brother or father thank the Goddess. No Pippa was more like the old Luna, her mother. She was kind and loving, but weak, far too weak for my liking. Pippa always wanted to be a warrior since she was really young, she would follow me around and since I was a lonely child I loved it.

I shift back as she comes rushing at me with an oversized t-shirt . She was bouncing on her feet “Did you find them, Enyo?” She asks excitedly, handing me the top. I can’t help but smile at her. At fifteen she was already taller than I was, not that means much as I am only just over five feet tall.

“Hey Pip squeak, not today” She screws her face up, about to say something when Ashley the pack Barbie AKA new Luna walks up to us. “Hello, Enyo, I’m glad you're out of the dungeon again” She says in her overly sweet voice, the one she developed when she became Luna.

I look over her shoulder realising why she has approached me. Behinder stands the Alpha family and some of the werewolf council. I look back at her then at Pippa “Come on Pip squeak, fancy a sparring session?” The teenager's eyes go wide, then she nods and runs over to tell her mother before she comes back.

“Mother said as long as I am back for dinner” I smile and loop arms with her as we turn to leave Ashley speaks again.

“Enyo, we should have afternoon tea tomorrow” I just look at her with a what the fuck look before I turn to leave. Reaching out she grabs my arm, clearly feeling embarrassed.

“How dare you ignore your Luna” I yank free from her hold and step up to her, she visibly   pales; this makes me smirk.

“Fuck off, Ashley and FYI you ante my Luna” With this I turn and pull a quietly laughing Pippa with me towards the training grounds.

“You know she will make you pay for that” Pippa leans in and says, I smile at her.

“Yeah, but it will be worth it” This time we both laugh together, part of me wishing she was older and wiser so I could have a friend to talk to about the latest development in my disaster of a life, if that's what you call it at times it feels like I am just existing.

We spared for two hours before Pippa had to go, leaving me alone with my thoughts. Deciding to shower and go over the paperwork I stole. Something just doesn’t add up, I identified the bodies, I took in every detail including scent and not once did I smell him.

The tall male God of a man I met today.

My mouth waters as I remember his rich Cedar wood and dark chocolate. His golden eyes that held warmth and acceptance as he gazed at me as if I was all that mattered; So why did I leave? My wolf whimpers, she wants to go to him. Every bit of my body screams for him, his touch, even just his gaze.

After an hour or so of going over the paperwork, that I know off by heart I decide in frustration to go for a run. I can’t shake the feeling I am missing something. I am so lost in thought I don’t realise where we are until she skids to a halt. About twenty meters away I spot them, or more to the point I spot him.

Clayton Blackridge Alpha of the Lobo Sombra pack in his huge gun metal grey wolf. Standing to his right is a brown and grey wolf slightly smaller in height and not as muscular, possibly his Beta. My wolf starts stalking towards them and even though I am protesting she wants him. As I get closer he shifts back then the other wolf turns I realise he is giving us some privacy.

I stand wondering if this is a good idea when my wolf shifts; Fucking traitor, I grumble at her. I stand in all my nakedness, and as shifters we don’t really bother about this but right now standing in front of this God like man I feel vulnerable and on show. But if one thing my parents taught me it’s to never show your hand school your emotions.

He steps towards me, but on instinct I step back and for the first time I feel guilt as hurt flashes over his face. He drops his hand giving me a gentle smile that doesn’t reach his eyes.

“Hey, little wolf” His deep gravelly voice sends a shiver straight down my spine. The way he says little wolf has pleasure rushing to my core, before I realise what I am doing I cross my legs. This action has him smirking, and I know what you are up to kinda smile. I frown at him even though the thought of mounting him and dry humping him is what I really want.

“So, Enyo, that's the Goddess of war right?” I just look at him for a moment, then the thought of actually finding out anything crosses my mind, so I take the leap of faith I never thought I would but have my wolf howling in happiness.

“So, Clayton” I say, and his smile grows showing perfect white teeth. Goddess why do I feel like my barriers are starting to lower.

Alpha Enyo BurnsideI have just lifted the baby from Fran’s back, his little squishy face all pink from crying. His little mouth looking for his next meal, I can’t help laughing as I hand him back.“Sorry little Beta, but aunt Enyo doesn't have anything to offer in that department” I say as Fran and Peony laugh. There is a commission outside. I turn to look at Clay, he sighs and asks. “If I asked you to stay here would you?” I scoff and cross my arms, right then I catch his scent. Dylan, but what the hell is he doing on my land?Clay shakes his head with a smile, he takes my hand and tells the ladies to keep Harriet with them. We get to the front of the hospital where three guards are blocking his way. We stop at the top steps, Dylan stops arguing with the men in his way. His eyes light up the minute they land on me.“Enyo, please, I need to speak to you” I don’t move, don’t speak, just stare blankly at him. Exhaustion seems to hit me as I look at him. “What do you want that couldn’

  • Fury   Feeling Blessed!

Alpha Clayton BlackridgeIt was light by the time we got back, Enyo hadn’t said a word but I could feel her anxiety as we ran on our paws. She needed to get home to Harriet, the girl we seem to have adopted without even realising we had. The pack was buzzing with activity and it didn’t take long for Harriet to find us. Her little voice screams our names. She had collided with our legs before we even noticed her. My mate scooped her up, checking her over like a proper mother would.“You came back” Harriet says as she hugs Enyo to her. Enyo laughs, brushing the little girl's hair over her shoulder.“Of course we came back, we told you we would” Harriet turns to look at me, her big eyes sparkling.“Clayton, did you get the bad guys?” The innocence makes us all laugh. “Sure did, poppet” I say as I ruffle her hair. She giggles, swatting my hands away. I turn in time to notice that Ivy is on her own, I search but can’t seem to see her sister. Noticing my searching Harriet leans into me

  • Fury   Feeling Hollow!

Alpha Enyo BurnsideThe fury running through me is fueling my moon energy. The minute I killed the guard that had Harriet I knew I was going to kill him. I mocked the old man but the Omega comment is what does it, I smirk.‘Get the two witches, I’ll handle this prick. Keep trying the pack-link’ I tell whoever is listening. He shifts into a huge brown wolf, I smirk and shift. My wolf may be smaller but her strength and power far exceeds that of an Alpha wolf. There is definitely something off about his wolf, the minute I launch at him I am thrown back; a forcefield is protecting him. I look at the witches they are so concentrated on chanting for this piece of shit they don’t notice both wolves making their way to them. They both launch at them, a blood curling scream comes as Clayton wraps his large jaw around the first one. Hadeon’s wolf stumbles as her connection is broken. I launch myself at him this time I can land a swipe of my paw but it hardly touches him. I circle him, keeping

  • Fury   Moon Energy!

Alpha Clayton BlackridgeThe energy pulsing off my little mate is incredible, every wolf is bowing to her and she hasn’t even noticed. She fights like a goddess, smooth and with the elegance you don’t normally see on the battlefield.I watch from the corner of my eye as Dylan’s wolf never retaliates and the minute other wolves attempt to attack her he attacks them. I want to hate him but right now as I fight back to back with Gavin I am glad he is there for her.The minute Trent returns he seems to pick up on what's going on and jumps to protect his Luna just like a good Beta should. I watch as she drops to her knees the minute the second packlink breaks. I can feel her overwhelming grief that this is her fault. She shifts back and he mocks her, calling her a bleeding heart like her mother and grandmother before her.I watch in awe as she lifts her hands palm up and pulls in the energy from the moon. I smirk to myself, this is something I have seen her do before and what a sight these

  • Fury   He's in love with you!

Alpha Enyo Burnside ‘Keep calm, this is good, this is what our people need to get into position’ I tell Clay over the mind-link. I can feel his rage at Dylan's wolf circling me like I am his prey. This is what we wanted, I spotted Gavin's brown wolf exactly where he said he would be behind Dylan. The voices that come over to tell us that our teams are in position is like honey to a bee. My mate tilts his huge gun metal grey head back and howls to the moon Goddess telling our team to start. Dylan’s wolf growls, dropping to a fighting stance the minute Clay howls. I don’t give him a chance to attack my mate. I leap at him, biting into his left shoulder ripping the flesh from it and spitting it out. It howls in pain but refuses to attack me. This pisses me off so I launch myself at him again, I land on his back. He starts to flip trying to get me off but I sink my claws in even deeper. I spot Clay in a fight with two of Dylan’s warriors but I am not bothered as they are no match for

  • Fury   Let it Begin!

Alpha Clayton BlackridgeNews came late last night from Gavin, they are planning to attack tonight. So we have been up since the crack of dawn moving the vulnerable to our underground shelter. Harriet has been clinging to Enyo all morning refusing to go with the sisters to the shelter. Every time the tears fall my mate is torn apart with guilt. I had to step in and explain to the six year old that the only way we could fight and win was if we knew she was safe.So eventually after two hours of crying and pleading we finally got her to the shelter with Fran and the baby. Poor Fran was already stressed about her mate being apart from her and their son without a crying child adding to it but like the real Beta female she did her duty and took charge of the shelter. Enyo has been working non stop for an hour going over different groups of warriors and each one's task. She is a true leader, you can tell she was bought up by warrior parents. She spoke quietly to the more nervous of our wa
