LOGINScarlet found herself dumbfounded.
She had always thought that the Cyn in this world would be a replica of her world's Carlos, but she never expected them to be so identical!
She would have thought he was Carlos if not for the indifferent expression on Cyn's face even when he held her and the big 'Zero' affection on his head.
The Carlos of her world wouldn't have zero affection for her...
"Hello," She arranged her skirt properly and greeted him shyly.
Heck, she needed to act good before a handsome guy!
Especially when he looked so much like her idol... Um.
Cyn, who had just gone out of his way to save a stranger, cleared his throat and stood right. Even though he was confused as to why he would spare anyone a glance at a place his mother forced him to escort her to, he still did not want to be rude. "Hi," He replied and turned around to leave.
Scarlet smiled cunningly. 'After staying in such a boring world for so many hours, I finally found you, and you still want to leave like this?' She scoffed. 'Dream on!'
"Hey!" She shouted.
Cyn stopped and turned around. "Calling me?" He sounded cold.
Scarlet noticed the grand change and quickly forced a naive smile. "Big brother, I want to thank you for helping me earlier." She looked at his face and gauged his age... 'He shouldn't be older than 20.' She mumbled inwardly. "How about I invite you to my birthday banquet tonight? A lot of people will be there." She tried to entice.
Cyn looked at her. His expression remained unreadable. "I don't attend parties. Especially not to humor strangers." He replied and resumed walking.
Scarlet stared at his broad back for a moment and cursed internally. But she wouldn't give up. "Wait!" She shouted and ran toward him. "What about I buy you a meal?" 𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝒔𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒂𝒕 𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒕 𝒆𝒂𝒕 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒎𝒆, 𝒅𝒐𝒏'𝒕 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒌, 𝑴𝒓 𝑭𝒊𝒏𝒆 𝒃𝒐𝒚?
Cyn's brows furrowed. His eyes showed annoyance. "I don't want to." He firmly said. "And don't follow me anymore." He warned, and without waiting for Scarlet's response, he walked off.
Scarlet's eyes widened. This was her first time experiencing such an embarrassing situation, and it made her feel weird. She might not be the most beautiful in her world, but her beauty was enough to turn heads wherever she went, and she had so many admirers that it was annoying.
'How did things change so much? From being fished to fishing." Scarlet felt like crying.
"That's because he doesn't know your worth yet." Fateball acted like it could feel Scarlet's pain. "Good luck, Scarlet. This wouldn't be easy." Then, it disappeared again.
Scarlet looked at her pigmate team and shook her head pitifully. "Anyway, I don't like easy things either. I will surely sway him." She clenched her fist and made a determined face.
"Focus on your birthday first," Fateball advised.
Scarlet flicked her bang and raised her nose. "I won't."
Then, she walked into the salon.
HOURS LATERGlasses clanked. Laughter rang. Music played, and everyone seemed excited.
Klaus was at the corner of the dim-litted room, fixing his tie restlessly while checking something nervously on his phone.
Beside him was an average-looking guy with a head full of blonde hair. He sipped his drink and chuckled. "You shouldn't be so nervous. Ain't you just proposing to Scarlet? I really don't know what you see in her." His brows furrowed. Expression filled with dismay. "She's so average. There's really nothing worth noticing about her, and there's Lyn, her best friend, who is pure and beautiful. You don't want her, yet you want that ugly girl?" He peeked at Klaus' phone and clucked his tongue at the write-up on the screen. "I wonder what that ugly thing had done to you to make you so obsessed. If it were me..."
"Klaus. Ray." Lyn walked over.
She was dressed in a short purple gown, and her black hair was styled with a crown sitting on her head. She smiled shyly and used her finger to push a few strands of hair behind her ear, passively revealing her lean neck. "Scarlet is dressing up. She told me she would be here soon." She muttered coyly. Her innocent expression masked the bewilderment in her heart, which came from her calls being rejected by Scarlet all evening.
She had tried to find out what Scarlet would be wearing so she could outshine her, but Scarlet had refused to answer her call or reply to her messages all evening. She had even tried to visit her house but the security men wouldn't let her in... She had no idea what went wrong.
Scarlet was always enthusiastic about their friendship...
"Oh, Lyn. You look so..." Ray's word trailed off as his eyes caught a figure standing at the entrance of the hall.
Light enshrouded a figure at the door. Her slender body was wrapped in a long, flayed black gown, her neck was adorned with a silver necklace, and her long hair was hugged by a sparkling black hair tie. Her big bunny eyes shone with a mysterious allure, and her lips curled into a confident line. Her long fingers curved around a small black bag.
She raised her head high as she stepped forward, counting each step toward the center of the room___ exactly like the night star.
She stood before a random girl and revealed a brilliant smile. "Thank you, everyone, for attending my birthday. Have fun, please." She wasn't ready to waste too much energy on strangers.
The hall, which had been pervaded by silence, immediately became noisy as people deliberated whether she was truly the Scarlet they knew or not. Everyone was surprised, and the one who was the most surprised was Klaus, who was staring like his eyes were about to pop out.
"She removed her glasses and became a fairy." He heard a voice say, and he nodded his head foolishly.
While Klaus was pleasantly surprised, there was Lyn, who was about to dig out all the meat in her hand with her nails as she glared hatefully at Scarlet, unable to hide her anger.
However, there was someone who remained indifferent in the room...
"Scarlet, look, that's Cyn. He's here!" Fateball was so excited that it popped out and danced before Scarlet. "He was the one that the earlier girl invited. Surprised, right? I intentionally kept it hidden from you!" It laughed with satisfaction.
Scarlet, whose eagle eyes had caught Cyn's figure from the beginning, felt her lips twitching at Fateball's antic, and she chuckled. "I'm glad he's here." She mumbled. "I'm sleeping with him tonight."
Scarlet smiled. "No, father. I think it's time for me to get married." Scarlet's hesitation was no less than her father's. More than romantic relationships, she preferred the familial love from parents even more. She was love-deprived. She knew how much she sought it and how much she lost trying to gain it in her real world. She really didn't want to leave the king and queen so soon. But Scarlet knew all these weren't real. The only real thing was Carlos, who was waiting for her in the real world. Scarlet was scared... scared that her greediness might cost her Carlos's life. She didn't think she could bear that. So, no matter how much she wanted to stay in this fatherly and motherly warmth, she knew it wasn't her destination, and life wouldn't be nice enough to give her a break. *******Kaden and Lucien came to discuss the wedding and surprisingly chose the same date. When Scarlet heard about it, she immediately suspected that Lucien had chosen the same date as Kaden. The tho
Just when Scarlet thought the chaos of the day was over and ready to leave with her parents, the two alphas showed up before them, letting her know how naive she had been. Lucien greeted the old Alpha with a respectful air. Even though they were both alphas, Lucien was from the younger generation and still needed to respect the old alpha. However, Kaden just stared. He was known to be rude and unscrupulous anyway. The king also didn't care about him. Lucien grinned, seeming to have nothing to say. Kaden stepped forward. "Alpha Arthur," He called. His voice was deep and dark, filling someone with primal fear. "I'm here to demand the hand of your daughter in marriage." The air turned heavy. But Kaden didn't seem to sense it. "In exchange, my park will give yours the border territories and also supply you with a million bags of grain every two years. What do you think?" He wasn't demanding. He was making an order. The king's face darkened with anger. He held Scarlet, pulling him
Hearing Lucien's words, Scarlet's body turned slightly cold, and her instinctive reaction was to say no. However, she stopped herself. Maybe she had nothing to fear about conceiving anymore. She had been pregnant more than once in the last world, and everything had gone well. Perhaps things would be the same again. Despite the lingering fear in her heart, she looked at the alpha and smiled softly. "I guess?" It wasn't even a fact yet. Maybe Kaden didn't even want a child from her. For someone who looked down on her like Kaden and even seemed to hate her, it would be a miracle if they ever got to kiss during their two years of marriage. But Scarlet wasn't ready to give him that chance anyway. Within those two years, she would ensure that she won his heart and also complete the rest of the mission. Lucien was almost filled already. It increased every day and continued to rise even after the chaos at the wedding earlier. Scarlet reckoned it would cross the final threshold during
Scarlet's heart skipped a beat. She glanced around in fear before her eyes settled on the alpha standing before her. Her wrist ached slightly. "What do you want?" She knew it was futile to deny it. The alpha wasn't asking a question, nor was he confirming anything. He already knew and was only stating it. Hearing her question, the alpha sneered. "What do you think I want?" Scarlet was confused. Not once in her life had she been put in this situation. Even in the real world, she had always minded her business and stayed inside. This situation. This embarrassment. They made her uncomfortable, and she hated the feeling. "Say what you want, and if you don't..." She glanced at her wrist being held by the man. "Then let go." It was slightly painful. The alpha also looked at the hand. His eyes flashed subtly, and without a word, he moved back, releasing the hand. He stared at his own hand with a look of surprise on his face. Scarlet waited for him to speak. His hand slowly fell to
Scarlet's face changed, looking pitiful and sad as she took a step toward Ria. She was about to start acting when she suddenly felt two piercing gazes directed at her from a corner. Following the gazes, she saw her two eldest sisters staring at her. Their eyes were sharp, as if they were trying to pierce a hole through her to see whatever she had in mind. Scarlet felt her skin crawling. She frowned slightly. She wasn't surprised to know that her sisters knew she was behind this. Of course, they would guess it. But she still felt a slight fear in her heart when she felt their gazes on her. They were truly wicked and ruthless enough to do anything to gain the throne. Fortunately, she wasn't a pushover either. Unfortunately, she was crazy enough to do anything for the mission, too. Scarlet ignored them and returned her attention to the third princess standing before her. "Sis, why?" Her voice broke, tears streaming down her face. "I've always known that you hate me. But do you
Following her gaze, Ria looked toward the entrance and frowned when she saw a waiter being dragged in. She took a step backward, and her face paled. Shaking her head, her lips kept muttering. Scarlet laughed wickedly. Two men in black dragged the waiter forward, and they pushed him to the ground when they got to the stage. The acting woman also stepped aside, staring at the stage with confusion in her eyes. The waiter looked bruised, probably beaten on the way here. He pressed a hand on his chest and coughed roughly. "It wasn't my fault. It was Princess Ria!" He cried out. "She asked me to drug this gentleman and bring him to her room. It really wasn't my fault." He was crying pitifully. Silence fell in the hall. My brows raised slightly, and a knowing smile crossed my lips. Ria staggered forward. "Liar!" She screamed. She was starting to lose her cool. "How dare you frame me? I don't even know you. Who sent you? Who sent you to frame me?" The waiter knelt, trembling as h
Just as Scarlet was about to think of what to reply to the alpha, the sound of footsteps and noises sounded from the door, and her brows creased. She couldn't hear what was being said clearly due to the room's soundproofing, but judging by the numerous voices, she knew it was her third sister and
"Scarlet, you are so beautiful!""Who would have believed that Scarlet is even more beautiful than Lyn?" "Don't even compare them. Scarlet is a real beauty.""She shouldn't have hidden her beauty for so long. People wouldn't have mocked her for being ugly.""Humph! Why does a beauty like her need
Scarlet's eyes dimmed, fear palpable in her black orbs. "I don't want to..." Her words trailed off. She didn't really want to be pregnant. She wasn't up to the task... especially when the father was so irresponsible. Scarlet knew she would have to surrender a lot for the mission, but she wasn't r
Scarlet frowned as she took in her surroundings- the void around her. She realized she couldn't see anything except a vast field of clouds. "Where is this?" Mumbling, she tried moving forward, but the fear of falling tied her to a spot. Fateball rolled around, seemingly enjoying itself. "This is m
