INICIAR SESIÓNAuthor's POV
The water drop rang into the night air, smashing against the ground, mixed with a faint smell of mud shattering all around.
Her hand trembled, but her face was hard as stone. Her hazel eyes were reflecting a storm of emotions: hopelessness, sorrow, anger, sadness, hatred. Everything at once.
Water dripped from her hair and clothes, soaking her completely, but Iris didn’t shiver. She didn’t care about the icy night wind flowing through the half-open window, brushing against her sensitive skin.
The police station around her was alive with chaos. Officers moved hurriedly from one desk to another desk, like something very important was going to come, but Iris, it all sounded distant, like she was trapped in a world far away from there.
“Here, ma’am,” a soft voice broke through the loud noise. “Please change into these, or you’ll get sick.” A young woman in formal police officer attire stood before her, holding out a neatly folded set of clothes.
As if the voice didn’t reach her, she gave no response.
The girl hesitated. She had her own duties, but something in Iris’s stillness tugged at her heart. Sympathy softened her expression as she set the clothes gently beside her.
Then, with careful hands, she offered a steaming cup of coffee.
“Please, drink this. It will make you feel better.”
Still nothing. Iris didn’t move, didn’t blink. She sat like a shell, her body present, her soul absent.
The girl set the coffee down on the table and, after one last glance filled with pity, walked away, leaving Iris alone with her silence.
One by one every voice died and silence swept the place.
The atmosphere inside the station shifted as heavy footsteps echoed through the room.
The bodyguards came, forming a line, their presence swallowing into the air. Their faces were hard, carved with discipline.
Everyone’s eyes were downcast, not even daring to blink or look up.
It was as if the entire place was holding its breath.
Then he came.
Xavier.
As soon as he entered the station, a police officer came towards Xavier.
The officer's stare was down, the fear was clear in every step he took towards Xavier. He was afraid to speak, worried that his words might offend him, and next he would be found on the floor in pool of blood.
“Sir, we found ma’am sitting on a bench on the bus stand in the heavy rain.”
As soon as he delivered his message, his heart jumped into his throat when Xavier gave no response, he quickly moved away from him.
Xavier's cold eyes are fixed only on Iris.
But Iris remained motionless, still staring at nothing, her body dripping wet, her skin turned white against the cold air.
His sharp brown eyes instantly stayed on Iris. She sat there like a lifeless statue, drenched, her clothes clinging to her skin.
Her eyes, those hazel empty eyes, never moved, from the floor to look up.
He strode forward, stopping in front of her. For a moment he just simply stands there, towering over her, waiting impatiently but she doesn't even blink or respond.
His patience snapped in a second. His hand shot out, clamping painfully tight around her arm, with a harsh force jerking her from the bench.
Finally her eyes lifted, from the harsh force. Her hazel full emotions eyes meet his brown full of rage.
They stood there and the hatred she had for him was clear in her eyes.
His grasp tightens with every passing heartbeat veins popped cutting off her blood flow her skin of arm started to turn pale.
Still nothing, not a sound, not a flinch, not a hiss of pain.
The silence in the station was sharply thickened with every second.
Everyone was present there, they could feel the storm brewing but not a single person dared to lift their eyes and look up.
Not even thinking in their wildest dreams to look up to her because most of them know Xavier and his craziness about the thing he wants.
He pulled out the gun from his waistband, eyes locked onto her sharp and consuming, capable of making anyone tremble in fear to their core.
“You have no idea how angry I am right now.” His breath slammed against her face, hot and dangerous. “Tonight if anyone dies, it will be because of you.”
A single shot shattered the thick silence in the air.
The bullet tore through the officer’s chest, ripping flesh and spilling raw blood across the cold ground. His body collapsed.
Her eyes didn’t move from his, but her whole body trembled as screams rang out in the silence.
Her hatred dissolved into trembling tears that slowly formed in her eyes, traveling down to her cheeks. Her hands shook as her vision blurred.
Another shot rang out. Then another. Screams filled the room as people scattered in panic.
The bodyguards rushed in, grasping everyone in place, but her eyes stayed locked on him, not daring to look at the pool of blood he had created on the floor.
As the blood crept toward her feet, tears slipped down her cheeks.
Her heart was beating so fast that, if he weren’t holding her, she would have collapsed to the floor.
Now, tears freely flowed. His eyes didn’t leave her face, not for a second continuously watching, grabbing every emotion reflecting on her face.
His face was hard as stone.
His hand remained there, gripping tightly with just a little more pressure and it wouldn’t take him long to break her bones.
He turned on his heels as he pulled her with him, literally dragging her. Her steps stumbled with every step; she nearly hit the floor, but he yanked her harshly forward.
Outside, after turning everything inside into a storm, he dragged her out of the office. Rain poured mercilessly in the dark night, rain water flowed on the ground washing the blood that had clung on her feet.
In his hand, the gun was still there deadly. The world around them was blurred in water and fear.
The faint light from the outside lamp flickered, catching the outline of their faces his sharp, hardened by fury, her pale and hand trembling, face soaked in tears.
The silence between them was louder than the thunder.
Every step he took echoed with authority, and with the danger. The air felt thick cold air like even the rain was afraid to fall between them.
The bodyguards appeared, forming a line before him.
None dared to meet his eyes.
A man from them stepped forward hesitantly, his voice shaking under the weight of Xavier’s presence.
“Sir... Everything is ready for the marriage”
The words cut through the rain like a knife.
Author's POV A month had passed. The environment was thick with tension in that big room. Across sat Mason, and on this side was Xavier. Their members present on both sides could also feel the heat in the air.Mason's hand tightened around the pen in his hand. He moved his hand and signed the document. His eyes were burning through Xavier as he slid the file to him. Xavier picked it up as he scanned the signature."It is just the beginning... just wait. I will take everything from you... as you did with me."The last words were silent, only for him to hear.Xavier had gone completely mad. The only goal he had was to destroy Mason. When, that day, he walked towards her after waking up, she wasn't there. He broke through Mason's room, questioning him about her, but that old man was ready to die rather than tell him where Iris was. Resistance was never an option for Xavier. He shot Mason in the leg, but the guards came and saved him.But his torment didn't end. Xavier was doing everythi
Xavier's POV I dug the knife into the fresh wound, stuffing my blood-stained shirt into my mouth as I pulled the bullet out, tearing through the flesh.Beside me lay the dead shitty guard. It had been four nights since the moment I was locked up here, and still I could feel the jealousy burning through me, hot and red.It wasn't going to stop until I tore every piece of skin that had touched her from his body, ripped his flesh from his bones, and cut him into pieces.I have pulled people's eyes from their sockets just for looking at her, and he is a special case. I will give him a death he will remember for all seven of his lives. She wanted to hurt me. I still remember how she tightened her hold on him when she noticed me.That memory is still burning inside me, and trust me, it hurts more than these shitty torn wounds on my body.Fuck everything.I will be taking her with me. I wasn't going to let her live here. And before that, I want to send Mason six feet under the ground, alive
Author's POV "You have to marry."Evander's voice came as he rested on the bed, tubes attached to his body, trying to recover. The bullet had not damaged any of his organs."I am not marrying anyone... I never will," Iris said. The trauma the word marriage had given her was obvious in her voice."Iris, I have found a way to drag that asshole into jail, so we need to make sure he doesn't cause you any more problems," he explained.Iris's eyes narrowed."What do you want to say?" she asked."Xavier has already killed your child once... and he can plan it again. If he takes it to court, he can prove he is the biological father and claim his rights. But if you marry, then even if he is the biological father, your husband will be the child's legal father," Evander said."You don't need to do that shit." Mason walked inside. His hand brushed across her hair with a gentle touch."You shouldn't be here, Iris. You need rest and take care of yourself," he said in a soft tone."What do you mean
Author's POV A terrifying scream tore through the room as Evander landed on the floor, groaning in pain, his hand clenched over his bleeding chest. It took Iris a long second to understand what had happened. Her mind went completely blank as she scrambled onto the floor beside Evander's body."Eva...n...der," she cried, her words cracking. Her hand reached towards him to help, but before she could touch him, Xavier's hand wrapped around her arm with an iron grip and dragged her up.Her eyes met his, making fury surge through her body. She struggled against his hold, crying."Fucking stop moving," Xavier growled, making her body flinch badly as more tears filled her eyes. The door was pushed open, and the guards rushed inside after hearing the gunshot. They all halted when their eyes landed on Xavier with Iris in his hold.Mason walked in a second later. The atmosphere thickened with tension. His jaw clenched as he saw Evander lying in a pool of his own blood."Leave her," Mason said,
Xavier's POV "This is our proposal."I finished my long speech. Rather than shooting him dead on the spot and taking his fingerprint from his dead body, he had asked me to explain how it would benefit them."How can we trust you when you broke your deal with those big families? You have nothing now. You are on the ground," he spat out with his plastered professional face."If you don't want it, then completely fine... but remember, we built this empire from the ground before too... and we will do it again. But what will happen to you after that? Because there are hundreds of people outside ready to accept this," I said, pulling the files back.I knew for sure this bastard wouldn't lose this opportunity."Let's be quick. If you deny it... I will have to kill you," Ethan said, loading the gun.I turned to him, and it was enough for Ethan to understand that this wasn't the moment to be violent."Don't take it seriously... we are doing business sincerely now," I told him, and I knew this
Author's POV "Where are the others, Evander?" Iris' voice cracked with sobs."They couldn't make it out," he mumbled, his gaze filling with tears.Iris cried even more as he gently took her hand into his, slowly pulling her into his arms."It was all his fault, and we are going to take revenge on him," he said, clenching his fists. Rage flooded his eyes, turning them red with anger."We will," Mason said as Iris pulled away from Evander."What do you mean by that?" she asked, wiping her tears."This is the time we take our revenge. The Stone Empire has nothing now, and all their secrets have been exposed," Mason said as he handed a glass of water to Iris, rubbing her back softly to calm her down."We can destroy them, Iru. This is all we wanted from the beginning. We will do justice for those who lost their lives because of them," Evander explained."Only if Iris wants to," Mason said, looking at Evander, silence filled the room as they waited for her reply."You take your time, Iris
