Chapter 5

The air in the car was cooling with the undeniably expensive scent of a crisp, woody cologne. The chairs were fluffy and comfortable, and as Suzanne sat, she couldn't help but got too comfortable even though she knew her presence there was all a fake. Soft music began to play from the stereo of the car. An old blues that appeared to be Suzanne's favourite.

She concealed a smile, closing her eyes.

"You look like you like the music," Michael muttered, giving her a sideways glance.

Suzanne quickly sat up, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. "I'm sorry you had to come all the way there to get me..."

"We're playing a game, Suzanne. I thought I should make it too real to be doubted. I'm taking you to my company. I want to introduce you." Michael replied flatly, his eyes on the road. He swirled the car around to the next bending corner, glancing at the rare view mirror.

"Introduce me...to who?" Suzanne stammered.

"The strategy team. I think you will be overseeing the new project they are working on."

Suzanne blinked nervously, swallowing hard. Yes, she had the brains to work, but it had been such a long time she worked with people or for someone. The last time had been at a small research organisation, just before she married Davey.

"What? Aren't you up for it?" Michael questioned when she sensed Suzanne's hesitation.

"I can, after all, it's part of the deal. For the duration of our contract, I will do all I can to help S&C more successful that it already is." Suzanne replied.

Michael said nothing as he finally pulled the car behind some heavy large gates. Suzanne looked around, and marvelled at the vast spacious luxury dripping company her eye met. She hadn't been to S&C Investment company, but she'd heard how ravishing the place was. She had thought they were only bluffing, but Suzanne could see that wasn't the case.

After packing in the garage, Michael turned to look at her. "You need to get in your character, Ellie. I'm going to flirt with you during the meetings, I will be mildly distracted by you, and glance your way from time to time. I hope you don't find it surprising, that's why I'm letting you know."

Suzanne smiled, and nodded. "Thank you, Michael. Thank you for agreeing to this."

"Well, it's just two months, right?" Michael smirked slightly and stepped out of the car. Suzanne did the same. As soon as she did, she missed a step, and staggered against the car. Before she could hit the ground, some powerful gleaming arms grabbed her, steadying her on her feet.

"You should be careful," Michael's deep voice sounded near her ear, his arms wrapped her protectively.

With lips slightly patted, Suzanne turned to look at him, totally out of breath. They stood that way for a while until Ellie snapped out of her trance.

She moved away from Michael, adjusting her dress. "Thank you."

Michael took a quick look at her, letting a small appreciative smile touch one corner of his lips. He locked his car, turned to see the other cars that had been following him packing up in the next garage.

Ryan, his closest guard and driver hurried towards him, and whispered something in his ear.

"Really?" Michael scoffed.

Ryan nodded, and glanced briefly at Suzanne. She watched their movements, but failed to detect what was happening.

"Let's go in, Suzanne." Michael ordered. He placed one arm around Ellie's slim waist, guarding her to the entrance.

"No!" Suzanne snapped at him, moving away. "I can walk on my own. Thank you." She hissed out the words, walking briskly away.

Michael stared after her, and chuckled softly. They got into the building, and took the elevator.

**************

"I can't believe this," Davey thundered against his steering wheel while seething in anger in his car. He was packed across the street from S&C, and since the gates were open, he had witnessed everything that had happened between his wife and his business rival.

Davey had no idea why he was in fury. He had no idea why his insides were boiling and about to explore into tiny bits. Michael's arms around Suzanne, guarding her from falling –the intense looks they had exchanged, and the talks they had which he didn't get to hear all replayed in front of him.

He grabbed his steering wheel with an unusual force, and breathing heavily, he ignited his car engine.

He drove back all the way home, met Clarrisa making breakfast in the kitchen. He stood at the entrance, glaring at her.

"You're back. Why did you rush off like that? Are you okay?" Clarrisa asked, turning to look at Davey, but got no response.

Instead, Davey walked briskly into the kitchen, eyes blazing with a blinding rage. He grabbed Clarrisa roughly by the waist, pinned her against the kitchen counter, and started to fumble with her shirt.

"What... what are you doing?" Clarrisa whispered, already fired up by Davey's approach. She gasped sharply when she felt his hands inside her shirt, grabbing her naked boobs with his massive palms. Soon, her shirt came off, pooling on the floor.

"Davey..." Clarrisa whispered, but Davey gave her no time to explain. He fused his lips on hers, claiming them in a frenzied kiss. The sauce on the cooker began to burn, but Davey was far from letting Clarrisa go.

"The food is burning..." She tried to complain, but got choked as Davey wrapped his palm around her neck–just hard enough to pleasure her.

"I want to fuck you right now," he whispered hoarsely in her ear, and bending down, he caught one of her taunt nipples into his mouth, sucking ferociously at it.

Clarrisa threw her head backwards as a soft pleasurable sigh escaped her lips. Under her shorts, she dripped uncontrollably.

With his dipstick hard against the placket of his pants, Davey pulled down his zipper, letting his hardness slip out. With one hand, he pulled down Clarissa's mini short, turned her away so she could face the wall before bending her over the counter.

"Fuck, you're so wet," he grunted with satisfaction, and guarding himself into place between the woman's long legs, he threw in a deep thrust into his dripping hole.

"Davey, the food..." Clarrisa cried out, cursed under her breath. When it came to sex, she knew Davey was one to make her completely feel like a woman. She held on to the kitchen counter as Davey continued his penetration, their grunts and pleasuring sounds feeling the hot atmosphere in the kitchen.

Soon, Davey's grip around Clarissa's hips hardened, his voice became more thick, and what followed next was his hot cream shooting into Clarissa, and at the same time, dripping relentlessly on the floor.

"Fuck," he grunted into her ear before stepping away, "the food is burnt," he muttered, turning to look at the almost black sauce on the cooker. He reached forward, turned off the fire.

"You were amazing," Clarissa smiled at Davey, and licked her lips. She watched as he pulled back his pants, and at the back of her mind, she wondered what Davey Hawthorne would do if he ever had to find out that the woman right there in the kitchen with him was already married with her baby boy, growing up somewhere outside the country.

She was back into his life for a mission, and nothing was going to stop her. Not even his wife, Suzanne.

  • He Left Her Broken, She Returned a Weapon   Chapter 114

Chapter 114 At school the next day, the cafeteria was a cacophony of clattering trays, metallic screeching, and the overlapping drone of hundreds of students seeking respite from their morning classes. At the center of this social ecosystem sat Daisy, anchored at the prime circular table by the window just exactly where she loved sitting down during breaks. She sat with a rigid, practiced elegance, her posture projecting an aura of untouchable authority. Her laughter, punctuating a lively exchange with her friends, was light and melodic, yet it carried the sharp, rehearsed quality of someone who knew exactly how she was being perceived. The atmosphere shifted abruptly, the air growing heavy and static. A shadow fell across the table, fracturing the light. Hannah stood there, backed by her loyal but visibly anxious friend, Gloria. Hannah’s face was a study in controlled agitation; her jaw was set, and her knuckles were white where she gripped the strap of her bag. “Daisy,” Hanna

Chapter 113 "So, tell me, my love!" Blair exclaimed, her voice vibrating with unhidden excitement. She fluttered toward him, draped her arm at the back of the chai. "How was your day at school? I’ve been dying to hear how my favorite boy is doing. Tell me everything. Hm?" Jayson didn’t even look up at first. When he finally shifted his gaze, his face was a mask of cold indifference. He stared at her, his eyes tracing the elaborate, out-of-place attire she wore. "If you really wanted to know what had been going on in my life, you would have been here all this time," Jayson said, his voice flat. "Instead, you’re suddenly appearing on my doorstep. What are you doing here, Mom? And—honestly—why are you dressed like you’re attending a royal gala?" Blair’s expression soured instantly, her lips pulling into an indignant pout. "That is no way to talk to your mother, Jayson. Honestly, that was remarkably rude. You don't have to sound so ride. I'm honestly sad that we have to live apart

Chapter 112The moment the front door creaked open, Blair was on her feet, a radiant, maternal glow lighting up her features. As Jayson stepped into the foyer with Daisy trailing behind him, Blair’s face ignited with overwhelming affection."Look at my big boy!" Blair exclaimed, her voice thick with excitement as she rushed forward.Jayson froze, his stride faltering mid-step. The surprise was etched clearly onto his face, his brows arching toward his hairline as he blinked, seemingly struggling to reconcile the setting of the house with his mother’s sudden apparition. He had no idea she was going to be visiting. Behind him, Daisy didn't share his shock. Instead, her eyes narrowed, tracing a slow, predatory line from the crown of Blair’s head to the hem of her short, form-fitting dress. The look was a masterclass in condescension, it was a flick of the eyes that dismissed Blair as if she were a tawdry ornament rather than a guest."Mom?" Jayson managed, his voice dropping into a tent

Chapter 111The peace of the city street seemed to shiver under the weight of the impending storm. Suzanne’s shoes hammered against the pavement, each step a calculated strike of authority. She had blocked the Dark Stones burial van mid-transit, a move that had sent shockwaves through the local underworld. She didn't come alone; behind her, a group of hardened, armed soldiers moved in perfect, their black tactical gear blending into the gloomy afternoon. They carried the weight of their purpose in the stoic, dangerous set of their jaws. The atmosphere was thick, vibrating with the bustling activity of the city—muffled car horns, the distant thrum of heavy machinery, and the hushed, terrified gasps of onlookers who scrambled to clear the path of the impending danger.Suzanne stopped ten paces from the van. Her face was a canvas of pure rage. Her eyes, usually calculated and cool, burned with a predatory fire, and her jaw was tightened so severely that the muscles pulsed beneath her sk

Chapter 110The fluorescent lights of the office hummed with a sound that felt, to Suzanne, like a physical prodding against her temple. Last night, after Daisy had left in anger, she'd cried until Michael walked into the room to console her. She regretted what she did, but Michael had told her that Daisy headed some discipline. This morning, she decided to go to the office rather than staying home and thinking about how to investigate Jessica's sudden death. She walked through the glass double doors at 8:00 AM, and the silence she expected was replaced by a show of panic. The front desk was abandoned. A printer was rhythmically spitting out error codes in a high-pitched, frantic beep. Three junior associates were standing in the hallway, looking frantic, surrounded by a pile of legal files that seemed to have no destination. Then, the chaos took shape."! Thank God," Marcus, the head of operations, stepped into her path. His tie was loosened, his hair disheveled. "The payroll softwa

She didn’t break her stride; her boots clicked rhythmically and aggressively against the hardwood as she lunged for the front door, her hand already reaching for the brass handle."Daisy! You’re finally here!"Gracie’s chirpy voice sliced through the heavy tension, forcing Daisy to anchor her feet to the floor. She turned slowly, her gaze lingering on her stepsister with a cold, unreadable mask. Gracie was obviously excited to see her, but it was the opposite for Daisy. "What on earth happened, Daisy?" Jayson asked, rising to his feet and planting his hands firmly on his hips, his tone laced with exasperation. "Don't tell me you’ve had another fallout with your mother. Seriously? When is this going to stop? I really need to know."Daisy ignored the judgment, her focus shifting entirely to Jayson. "I need to leave, Jayson. Take me home. Now.""No,
