LOGINAdira believed she had finally escaped the darkness of her past when she agreed to marry Xavier, the future Alpha and the man she loved with all her heart. For him, she sacrificed everything. To secure his rise to power after his grandfather, she even stained her hands with blood, killing his own uncle so Xavier could claim the throne. But on the day that was supposed to mark the beginning of their forever, her world shattered. The two people she trusted the most, Xavier and her beloved cousin June, betrayed her. Instead of becoming Luna, Adira was left to burn alive, discarded like a pawn once she had served her purpose. With her final breath, she makes one desperate plea to the Moon Goddess: a second chance. When Adira opens her eyes again, she awakens in the past, before the betrayal, before the wedding, before everything began. This time, she refuses to be their victim. No longer the naive woman who loved too easily, Adira is determined to rewrite her fate. She will make those who betrayed her pay for every ounce of pain they caused. This time, she won’t burn. They will. But fate has other plans. Standing in her path is the one man she once killed, Alessandro Hunter, the infamous Crimson Alpha and heir to the most powerful bloodline. In her previous life, Alessandro despised Adira, seeing her as nothing more than a weak and foolish woman. Yet this time, something about her is different. The timid girl he once hated has vanished, replaced by a woman filled with fire, secrets, and vengeance. And despite himself… Alessandro finds that he can’t look away. What will happen when the secrets of her past life were revealed, and Alessandro can't help but protect her?

I stared at my reflection in the mirror for a little longer as the girl looking back at me didn’t feel real.
Dressed in a white wedding gown that hugged my body perfectly before flowing down in soft layers around my feet, I looked… so pretty.
I swallowed.
Was that really me?
I’d always been an ugly duckling who lacked everything from backgrounds to parents.
But today…
Today, not only did I look pretty, but I was about to have a family with the person whom I loved the most.
“I can’t believe I’m this pretty,” I whispered under my breath, shyly, as heat crept up my cheeks.
“Get it together, Adira,” I muttered, gently tapping both sides of my face. “Don’t start crying before the ceremony even begins.”
I inhaled slowly, trying to calm the storm building inside my chest.
After all the suffering, the nights I thought I wouldn’t survive, I was standing here, about to marry the future Alpha of the Shadow Hunters Pack.
Xavier Hunter.
Even thinking his name made something in me soften.
He wasn’t just the strongest warrior and the heir whom everyone respected and feared. To me, he was the man who had seen me at my worst, drowning in darkness, and still chose to stay.
He held my hand to remind me that I wasn’t alone.
I remember the first time he looked at me with warmth, unlike others.
He never tried to change me and simply stood beside me while I fixed myself.
And now… I was about to become his Luna.
The title felt heavy, but I was ready to bear it.
A soft knock sounded at the door, pulling me out of my thoughts.
“It’s almost time,” someone called gently from the other side.
My heart began to pound with anticipation.
“Brother…”
I stared at an old locket resting in my palm, “I’ll come back for you,” I whispered. “And once I have the power, not even our uncle and aunt will be able to stop me.”
My fingers closed around it, steadily despite the storm inside me.
When our parents died, we were too young to understand the cruelty of the world. We were sent to live with our uncle, but that house was never our home. I wasn’t treated like a human there, waking before sunrise, scrubbing floors until my hands burned, swallowing insults like they were daily meals.
My little brother tried to protect me. He would stand in front of me, take the blame, and argue back. But when he did, they hurt him worse. So I learned to stay quiet and endure.
But even that wasn’t enough.
One night, I overheard them talking about me as if I were nothing but an object. Soon after, they sold me to an old man who was worse than a monster. His house was colder than any prison. He enjoyed control and inflicting fear. And his wife stood beside him, watching, never once showing mercy.
The only reason I held up till now was because of you.
I pressed the locket to my chest. “They thought they destroyed me,” I murmured. “But the thought of you kept me going.
A tear slipped down my cheek.
“Wait for me,” I whispered. “I’ll snatch you from my uncle and hold you close to my heart.”
With that resolve in my heart, I turned around to leave.
“Where’s everyone?” I asked softly, my voice echoing slightly in the empty house. “Is my cousin not coming with me?”
The driver waiting by the door lowered his head respectfully. “Forgive me, Miss. Young Miss asked me to bring you directly to the venue.”
“Oh…?”
A small crease formed between my brows.
That was unlike June.
In that cold, suffocating house, she had been the only warmth I ever knew. While others looked at me like a slave, she would sneak into my room with warm food.
When she heard I was getting married, she was happier than I was, and help me with the preparations.
Even the gown I was wearing now was chosen by her.
And now… she wasn’t here?
I forced a small smile and nodded at the driver. “It’s fine. Let’s go.”
Soon, we were inside the car, the engine humming softly as we pulled away from the house. I looked out of the window with nervousness.
“Miss…” the driver spoke again after a while. He glanced at me through the rearview mirror and sighed, his expression unreadable. “Please have some water and try to relax.”
I hadn’t even realized how tightly I was gripping my bouquet.
“Oh… thank you.” I accepted the bottle, my fingers trembling slightly.
I gulped the water down without thinking. My hands were still trembling.
Maybe I was just too overwhelmed to think clearly.
The car’s movement became steady as my eyelids felt heavy.
Just for a second, I told myself. I’ll close my eyes for just a second.
When I opened them again, my neck ached from the awkward angle I had been sleeping in. The sky outside the window was darker now.
Feeling uneasy, I quickly checked the small clock on the dashboard. My breath hitched.
It had been two hours, and we were still driving in that dark.
My heart began pounding so loudly that it felt like it echoed inside my ears.
This wasn’t the route to the wedding venue.
I turned toward the window, wiping away the faint fog from the glass with my palm. The scenery outside was unfamiliar, with empty roads, scattered trees, no buildings, and no traffic. We were far from the city and from the venue.
“Where are you taking me?” I demanded, my voice no longer soft. I pushed the bouquet off my lap, letting it fall onto the seat beside me.
Third Person’s POVAdira’s jaw clenched, knowing Alessandro was still clearing the mess she had made. She couldn't just sit back and watch him handle the fallout alone, so she decided to take things into her own hands once again. However, all day she did nothing out of the ordinary. She stuck to her desk, handling office chores and working hard. She spent hours learning from Mason, who kept his promise and was ready to teach her whenever she couldn’t understand something. But what Mason didn't realize was that she wasn’t just learning about the work from him. Right from the morning, she had been trying to get him to talk. Every time she handed him a file or asked about a report, she would bring up the case, pretending to be worried about their Alpha."Is the Alpha still stressed about the political backing?" she had asked during their first review. Later, while organizing his schedule, she sighed, "I just hope Jonathan's people aren't causing trouble at the office."She played the par
Adira’s POVIt took me a lot of courage to make that call, but I still had to do it. I needed to know if he still had a place for me in his office… or in his life.“I couldn’t even say more than that to him,” I muttered to myself, standing in front of the large building and staring up at it. “I just hope everything I told him made sense to him.”With a deep breath, I entered the office and started working without any delay. But to my surprise, Alessandro was an hour late. The moment he walked through the doors, I rose to my feet. “Good morning, sir. Shall I prepare a cup of coffee for you?”Alessandro stopped in his tracks, just a few steps away from his office door. He looked exhausted as he pinched between his brows.“Sure,” he replied coldly. “And do not forget to add more caffeine, since you gave me a huge headache.”He turned and walked straight into his office, leaving me standing in my place, guilt-ridden and not knowing what else to say.“You really were bold, weren’t you?” Ma
Alessandro's POV The next morning, I was drinking my black coffee when my Gamma, a well-trained warrior and spy, walked into the living room."Greetings to the Alpha," Zale addressed me, bowing his head slightly. I lowered the porcelain cup onto the glass table."Have a seat, Zale," I instructed."Alpha, you are going to be shocked by the details I'm about to give you," he said, a grim smirk touching his lips."Hopefully, you've brought the information I've been seeking for so long," I replied. Adira had left me with a labyrinth of unanswered questions, which was exactly why I had sent Zale to dig into who this woman truly was. The woman who had inexplicably turned out to be my fated mate."Alpha, I went to Miss Adira's hometown to gather the intel. She has suffered a hell in her life. And her brother... You won't believe how that boy even survived."Zale's words left me deeply unsettled. "What do you mean?""Miss Adira's uncle and aunt abused her for years, giving her next to nothi
Alessandro’s POVI glared at her, my eyes boring into Adira’s, trying to search her soul. But she turned her head away, trying to hide her lies from me, as if looking away could stop my Alpha authority. What she didn’t know was that my authority didn't even work on her, for reasons that I couldn't understand. But as long as the threat made her talk, that was enough for me.She kept her jaw clenched, refusing to meet my gaze, but the slight tremor in her hands gave her away. She was hiding something from me, and the fact that I couldn't read her or force her to submit was driving me insane."Look at me, Adira," I commanded, my voice dropping to a low, dangerous rumble.I needed to know what she was planning before she got herself killed, but her stubbornness was pushing me to my limits.“Sir, I have already told you everything that I know,” she said, keeping her head low. She was still adamant about lying to me.I couldn’t take it anymore. I slammed my hands onto the desk in front of m
Adira’s POVI was stunned by the sudden slap, but not surprised, as it was not their first time doing something like that.I still remember getting slapped in my past life when I returned cheerfully after accepting Xavier’s proposal. But I was too ashamed to show my miserable face in front of the m
Adira's POV"Ahh!"I fell on the floor, blinded by the lights of the car. It was my mistake to run without looking. It was suffocating for me to even stand in front of Xavier, the man who killed me."Miss, are you alright?" the panicked driver asked me.I looked at the fresh bruise that appeared on
Adira's POV The radiant white light suddenly blurred my vision. I felt something heavy stuck in my head when I heard a familiar voice. “Will you marry me, Adira?” ‘What's happening? Where am I?’ I thought as I looked toward the source of the voice. It was Xavier. He was on his knees with a tiny
Adira’s POVThe driver didn’t answer. His hands tightened on the steering wheel.“Answer me!” My voice cracked as panic started crawling up my spine. “This isn’t the way!”The speed of the car increased, and the engine roared louder.“Stop the car!” I screamed, grabbing the handle and trying to pul
