The next day, Rosalie was sitting quietly in the classroom while Aria chatted beside her. Despite being an introvert, Rosa always felt comfortable around Aria’s sweet nature. Soon, Killian entered the room. His presence shifted the atmosphere.
Rosa felt a little lighter. That feeling lasted only until the commanding voice echoed through the classroom.
“Students, submit your assignments.”
The pen slipped from Rosa’s fingers and clattered onto her desk. She looked up to see him arranging papers at the front with his usual cold demeanor.
One by one, students stood up and handed in their assignments. Rosa stayed glued to her seat. Nerves twisted tighter in her stomach. Aria returned after submitting hers and noticed her friend’s pale face.
“Rosa?” she asked gently. “Didn’t you bring your homework?”
“Mine?” Rosa blinked. Aria understood immediately and placed a comforting hand on her shoulder. “It was the assignment from the day before yesterday. Yesterday we went over the exam papers, so he didn’t collect it then, but…” Aria’s voice faded when she saw the paleness in Rosa’s eyes. Rosa sat there silently while fidgeting with her fingers under the desk.
“Anyone who didn’t finish their assignment, stand up.” Killian’s announcement made Rosa’s stomach drop. She glanced around nervously. No one else stood. Everyone had finished theirs.
Aria gave her a sympathetic look, knowing the cold professor would likely punish her.
Rosa slowly lifted her eyes toward the front of the room. Killian was already looking at her. His hands rested inside the pockets of his pants and his piercing blue eyes remained fixed on her figure. Rosa let out a soft exhale and slowly rose from her seat, clutching the edge of her skirt tightly. She kept her eyes down, avoiding his gaze.
“I expected as much.”
Killian’s low, raspy voice carried across the silent classroom, sending fresh goosebumps racing over Rosa’s skin. She looked down in deep embarrassment. The sharp echo of his boots against the floor filled the room as he began walking toward her.

Poor Rosa had been standing outside the classroom for nearly half an hour as punishment. She stared down the empty corridor. She was the only student who didn’t complete her task.
She pouted. Her lower lip jutted out slightly.
He’s so mean…
A group of four boys walked down the corridor. One of them suddenly stopped and elbowed his friend. “Ivan, look, she’s right there.” Ivan’s head snapped in her direction instantly. His friends grinned mischievously.
“Go on, dude! That’s your blessing right there.” one of them teased, pushing him forward with a wink. “You’ve been talking about her for weeks. Don’t be a chicken now!”
Another friend laughed. “Yeah, man. Go shoot your shot before someone else does. She’s too cute to be standing out here alone. If you don’t talk to her, I might just go myself.” His friends grinned and teased him, giving him a playful shove forward. “It’s your chance.”
Ivan grinned at them before he walked over toward her direction.
“Um… hi. You’re Rosalie, right?” he started hesitantly. “How are you doing?”
Rosa looked up at him with her big beautiful eyes. Her lashes fluttered. The sight made Ivan’s heart beat faster. Rosa glanced past him toward his friends, who were watching from afar. When they noticed her nervous look, they scratched their heads awkwardly and walked away, pretending they hadn’t been staring.
Rosa turned her attention back to Ivan. “How do you know my name?” she asked in a low voice.
Ivan rubbed the back of his neck flusteredly. “I’ve seen you around campus. You’re a freshman, right? I’m your senior.”
Rosa gave a nod.
“My name is Ivan. Ivan Carter.” he flashed a smile but Rosa just blinked at him.
“Why are you standing out here all alone?” Ivan asked gently. Rosa’s heart ached. The memory of Professor Salvatore coldly telling her to leave his class still stung. Ivan waited for her reply, but his eyes suddenly shifted toward the classroom door.
“Good morning, Professor.” he said politely, straightening up.
Rosa turned to look. Her breath hitched at the sight of Killian standing like a giant by the classroom door, just beside her. His rich masculine cologne reached her nostrils, making her pulse quicken.
Ivan looked back at her “Um, Rosalie, I should get going. I’ll see you around sometime.” he said with a small smile. He gave Killian a polite nod and walked away.
Killian’s dark eyes followed Ivan’s retreating figure for a moment. Then his gaze slowly dropped down to Rosa. She hesitantly lifted her eyes to meet his. A nervous lump formed in her throat as she swallowed. Killian gave her a sharp disapproving look before turning his head. He walked off with his usual graceful strides without giving a damn.
Rosa sighed and returned to the classroom, quietly taking her seat. Aria huffed with concern. “You were standing out there for so long. Do your legs hurt?” she asked.
Rosa shook her head and offered a small smile. “I’m okay.”
Aria nodded. Rosa felt an intense stare burning into her. When she slowly turned her head and caught one of her classmates watching her again. Max always stares at her.
Aria noticed where Rosa was looking and sighed. “Hey, you! Why are you staring at her with that creepy smile?” she called out, drawing the attention of the entire class.
Max rolled his eyes. “Don’t act like you don’t know. I like her!” he shouted back. The whole class burst into laughter. Rosa’s face burned with embarrassment. “What a shameless brat.” Aria muttered while rolling her eyes.
Max rested his chin on his palm again and stared at Rosa without blinking. The laughter in the class grew even louder.
The door opened again when the social science Professor Kang Rowan walked in. Everyone stood up respectfully. The first thing Rosa noticed was his unsettling gaze landing directly on her. His eyes always made her feel uneasy. She blinked nervously and quickly looked away.

At Night
Rosa gently pushed the front door of her house and stepped inside. She quietly slipped off her shoes and turned to head upstairs when her aunt’s voice stopped her.
“Rosa. Come here.” Carolina called. Rosa walked over. Her aunt was seated on the sofa with her legs crossed while calmly sipping coffee.
“Yes, Mum?”
“You just got back from the café?” Carolina placed the cup on the glass table.
Rosa nodded.
“How was your day?”
“It was fine.” Rosa replied with a faint smile. Carolina raised an eyebrow. “And your studies?” Rosa’s heart thudded. She shifted nervously before answering, “They’re going well.”
Her aunt gave a small nod and returned to her coffee. Rosa took it as her cue to leave, but she froze when she saw Kevin standing by the stairs bottom. Kevin’s eyes slowly scanned her from head to toe, making her feel uncomfortable. When she briefly looked up, his stare was fixed on her body.
Rosa's brows knitted together slightly. Lately, she'd been noticing the strange way her cousin looked at her. It wasn't the same as before. There was something unsettling in his gaze now. Every glance makes her uncomfortable and leaves her with an uneasy feeling she couldn't shake off.
The second their eyes met, Kevin smirked. Rosa swallowed nervously and hurried past him, rushing up the stairs. Kevin turned his head to watch her petite figure disappear up the staircase before shifting his attention to his mother. “Mom, I’m going out with my friends.” he announced.
Carolina simply hummed in response, still focused on her coffee.
Kevin looked upstairs once again and licked his bottom lip “Damnit, this pretty thing, I want to fuck her so bad.”

He rubbed his jaw while his mind plotted how to make their first night of marriage unforgettable. Then, the washroom door clicked open. Killian froze and his eyes snapped to the doorway. His pupils deepened instantly the moment he took in her figure. Rosalie was standing there, staring back at him, clad in a plain silk night wear that fell just to her knees. Thin straps revealed her delicate arms and collarbones through the V-shaped neckline. Her petite frame looked impossibly delicate and tender. Killian couldn’t take his eyes off her. Rosa’s cheeks heated under his intense gaze. Perhaps she sensed what was coming. It was their first night as husband and wife, after all. Rosa tore her eyes from him and walked toward the mirror silently. Killian’s dark expression hardened at her naive ignorance. Rosa stared at her reflection. She looked

She hesitated, then looked back at him. “You.. liked her?” Chris shifted. “Well... it’s not like that..I.. uh I mean, who wouldn’t?” he shrugged as if it was obvious. His words left her speechless. Indeed, Elara couldn’t disagree. Who wouldn’t be captivated by a girl like Rosalie? She was a rare beauty, with the rarest eye color and a soft, delicate face. Anyone could fall for her, but Elara hadn’t expected it at all. “But I’m loyal to my boss.” Chris added honestly. “I respect her. I called her my sister, so I meant it. I’m sincere about my emotions.
