LOGINMy uncle stole money from the mafia and ran. Now, my sister has to pay the debt through marriage. But when I ruined the wedding and she tried to jump off a building, I had no choice but to take her place. I have to marry a man—the one I can't stop cursing and wishing to kill. Alessio motherfucking Vito is a vicious devil dressed in a fancy suit. Behind that charming smile, he paints the ground in blood and manipulates those who disobey. And when I disobey him, he promises to turn my life into a living hell. He wants to claim me, mark me, and destroy me. Well, that's too bad, because I'm going to ruin his life just as much as he ruined mine.

To say my life is bad is an understatement. Dad paces the room back and forth, his steps making my sister uneasy. Jeanne sits on the couch, burying her face in her hands.
"What's going to happen?" she asks, eyes red and watery as she looks at me. Her chocolate hair is mussed up, like she had been running her fingers through them.
The gaze in her eyes are clear; she doesn't want to go. No matter what, she can't go and I'll make sure that doesn't happens. The rival Mafia family, the fucking Vitos, demands that she must marry the boss himself in order to pay back the debts we owed.
"This isn't fair! Dad, that was all Uncle's fault!" My elder brother barges in, the door nearly thrown off its hinges.
The man who put us in this predicament due to his selfish nature had taken the money and fled somewhere in the world. Now my sister has to make up for the mistake, one she didn't cause.
My gaze drops to the laptop on the coffee table where emails of 'threats' from the Vitos stare back at me. My stomach twists and I barely resist the urge to smash the laptop. Or maybe chug it at Vito's men who have been coming around to threaten us.
"I don't want to get married. Please," her tears begin to fall and her shoulders tremble.
She looks around our living room like it would help her somehow, the walls that are covered with wallpaper that hides the ugly scribbles we drew when we were kids, and the painting of Mom near the staircase—one I couldn't bring myself to look at.
Jeanne looks so small, so much like Mom, a younger version; big hazel doe-like eyes, long smooth hair that ends at her waist, and full lips.
Heartstrings tug beneath my chest and I struggle to breathe.
My ever narcissistic and nasty elder brother, Killian makes his way over, glaring at Dad. His rusty blonde hair is combed back with gel, and he's dressed in biker's clothing, looking like a motorbike gangster instead of the son of a fallen Mafia family.
"Dad, I’d rather fight them and bleed than let them take Jeanne. She's only nineteen," Killian's jaws clench.
"I second this," I raise my hand.
"Why did you agree with their demands? Don't you know that they'll use her, turn her into a breeding machine before tossing her out?!"
"And she'll be bullied. There's news and evidence of things like that—"
"Enough, both of you! If I had a choice, I would never sell any of my children off. Your mother would kill me in my dreams and you know that!" Dad snaps, chest heaving up and down with frustration.
"What age is this? Modern century! Does fucking Vito even look at the calendar?!" Killian says. His fists clench at his sides, veins threatening to pop on his forehead.
"I agree. Do we need to have this marriage alliance?" I supply.
"Both of you—"
"Dad," Jeanne calls weakly, interrupting the argument. She looks up at Dad with those eyes, so pitiful and heart-wrenchingly beautiful.
"If I marry Vito, will they stop harassing us?" she asks.
"No," I say. They have been coming around to have meetings with Dad. None of which ended amiably because Dad always looks so pale and on the verge of a heart attack.
"Shut up," Dad glares at me. I make a zipping motion across my lips. He turns to Jeanne and softens his voice.
"Yes. Maybe. I don't know. I'm so sorry, sweetheart." He walks towards her, pressing a kiss to her forehead.
Dad genuinely cares for Jeanne. She is the last child of the family and the only daughter Mom left him. He rubs her back affectionately, holding in tears.
Killian looks like he wants to say something but doesn't. He exchanges glances with me. I thrust my chin towards the couch. He scowls, but he gets the message and goes over, wrapping his arm around Jeanne's small shoulders and pulling her into a hug.
Killian never hugs anyone, not even Dad. I suppose it has to do with his past he forbids anyone from mentioning. Him hugging her now is already the best comfort he could give Jeanne. I stand behind them, patting her shoulders.
There is no choice. The wedding is in three days' time at a hotel owned by her soon-to-be husband. What is his name again? Right. It begins with A.
Alexander?
Alexandro?
Wait, I got it.
Alessio.
Alessio motherfucking Vito.
......
Three days later.
Jeanne is picked up by a limousine. She convinces us to let her marry, saying that she'll be happy with Vito. Motherfucking Vito is filthy rich and he'll treat her right.
Might treat her right. I know how it is in the Mafia world. Women are only expected to give birth and take care of the children. Jeanne doesn't have backing. They might hurt her instead.
The demons are chattering like fucking hell in my head, laughing and crashing into every side of my skull.
Dad accompanies her. Killian, being Killian, doesn't show up. Two muscular men belonging to her future husband enter the limousine with Dad's bodyguard, Wayne. To prevent Jeanne from running.
There are rumors that the don of the Vito family is a slimy old pervert. I don't want to ruin my sister's lifetime just for a few millions that were stolen by my uncle. It's not our fault that this happened. But it falls onto us, especially her, to put an end to this shit.
Even if this wasn't the case, I would never let her marry into a family like the Vitos. Their reputation is notorious, filled with dirty secrets and schemes. Jeanne deserves so much better.
I wait for thirty minutes before I get on my bike. Driving at crazy high speed that threatens to crush my lungs, I burst multiple red lights and arrive at the wedding venue.
A church.
Fucking Vito reserved the whole place for the wedding. The entrance and exit are guarded by his men.
I walk up, testing the heavy bat in my hands. Perfect for whacking their heads.
~Cassius~"Don't believe me? Let's do it the hard way.Alessio Vito is married. To Carolina Mancini. Or should we say, was? Carolina Mancini used to work for your father, in another department. She was a double agent before she disappeared off the face of the earth. Do you want to know where she is?" Fabio points to the ground. My hands tremble so hard that I know I'm going to hyperventilate. But that's not what has me shaking. What has me shaking so badly is the fact that Alessio is married. He had a wife. Carolina Mancini. He's using me. For revenge? What does he want? Is it for Carolina Mancini?"They're a family of killers and bloodthirsty monsters. Ruthless monsters. If you still don't believe, take a look at this," Fabio tosses something at my feet. The cuff behind me is undone and my hands are free.Dread washes over me as I turn the photo over. I'm staring at a photo of a woman with blonde hair and blue eyes. The eyes... They
~Cassius~"What do you want?" I hide the anger in my voice. Now's not the time to let it take control. I need control to find out the truth behind all that's happened.Fabio is the one behind Maciej. That bullet? I think I've figured it out by now. Alessio was never the target. It was meant for me. A warning. But why?Well, I'm about to find out."You're coming with me. No funny tricks or screaming. If you try something, Jeanne will lose her life. Or her fingers," Fabio grins.Wasn't Jeanne being watched over by Kai and my father's guards?Fabio chuckles. "I know what you're thinking. They're dead. If you don't believe me, I'll show you," he flashes his phone screen at me.Horror bleeds through me and wraps around my throat, stealing the air from my lungs. The photo is of Jeanne, tied to a chair with duct tape around her mouth. Her hair is disheveled and tears are sliding down her cheeks. The photo stabs at my heart.
~Alessio~Me: Come to me now. Don't play games.Cassius? Baby? Don't fucking ghost me.My thumb flies frantically across the screen. He's not online. I can't track his phone either, despite having secretly put a tracker on it.I call him. It goes straight to voicemail. Why is his phone off? If he thinks this is funny or a way to get back at me, he's in for a surprise.I hack into the cameras Dante has around his property. Many black and white feeds pull up on my screen. There he is. Waves of relief wash over me. He's walking in the garden. Then he goes to the backyard and seems to be talking to someone. I can't see who it is because the other person is in the shadows, out of the cameras' view on purpose. A chill runs down my spine, sinking deep to my bones. The mysterious person leaves with Cassius. I send a message to Dimitri.A few seconds later, my phone rings with a call from Dimitri. He's one of my most efficient and rel
~Alessio~The mood of the party is gone. Down a deep dark hole the moment Mila accidentally mentioned that name. Mila approaches me once Cassius is out of sight."I'm sorry. I won't let my mouth slip in the future," Mila apologizes, whispering."Hmm. Remember what you said," I give her a cold glare and she shrinks back. Mila clearly needs more training on keeping her mouth shut. She walks over to Dante's side, looking like she's about to cry.My siblings don't know the full story. They think Carol cheated on me and we broke up. They think that we had a great relationship and everything was mutual. At least that's what Giulio and the innocent ones in the family think. It's better they think of it that way. The way Cassius reacted after learning that name replays over and over in my mind. He's ignoring me, giving me the cold shoulder. I might have a hard time persuading him or getting him to drop the act."He's been gone a tad
~Cassius~Motherfucking Vito is standing in front of me after he choked the life out of me and made my cock hard. Well, nearly. Apparently, he doesn't want me dead. I can't believe that he just pressed a little on my cock and it's now begging for a release. God, how fucked up am I?My mind starts t
~Alessio~Not that I mind, but I can't stand the weeping and drama. It gives me a headache. I want to strangle Cesare and this man, this lover who snatched my bride.Giulio approaches me, mouth open and ready to shout. I gesture to Dimitri, my right-hand man. He walks forward and pulls Giulio in th
~Alessio~I watch as he takes my bride, places her on his bike, and takes off like a shooting star. Never has anyone disregarded me like this, pulling a fucking gun right in front of my eyes. That pure arrogance of his got under my nerves, and I resist the urge to end his life. Who is he? More imp
Anger is my partner in crime. I always have this shoot-first-ask-questions-later attitude. Even though I appear calm on the outside, I'm a fucking mess on the inside. The voices in my head are getting louder and louder.I view things negatively and anger is the only way to solve issues that become
