LOGINAdrian Vale sat at his desk, staring at the papers in front of him. But his mind was elsewhere. He was still thinking of the woman he met a few nights ago, whom he discovered was a 25-year-old marketing executive with her brother admitted to the hospital.
Adrian was determined to get close to Elara, and he thought hard on how to do so. Then, an idea came to his mind. He picked up his phone and called his assistant. "Alex, I need you to do something for me." "Of course, sir. What do you need?" Alex replied. "Clear my day," Adrian said and hung up. He quickly gathered his phone, laptop, and some files, then rushed out of the office. He needed to attend to something, and this was one step to getting close to Elara. As he was in a hurry, he turned a corner without noticing. It was too late when he bumped into her. "Sorry, sorry, watch your steps next time," he muttered, not even slowing down. Elara paused, taken aback by his movement and words. But instead of rushing off, she was intrigued by the chance to have an encounter with a man built like that, even though she didn't get to see his face. Her day had been half-ruined by the receptionist, but the stranger had made it half satisfying As she watched Adrian hurry away, she couldn't help but notice the way he walked like a well-trained model. She smiled to herself, thinking that he had a beautiful figure, even if he was a bit out of place with his words after bumping into her. She watched him as he stepped into the car and zoomed off. ***** The Hospital The light cast an artificial glow on the white corridor. Elara navigated the rooms, her feet weak from the fruitless journey as her mind wandered. Her brother Jeremy's illness had been a constant weight on her shoulder, and the stress was beginning to tell on her. As she entered Jeremy's room, she was greeted by the familiar beeping of the machine. Her brother, Jeremy, was lying in bed, his eyes closed, his face pale. Elara sat down beside him, taking his hand in hers. "Hey, bro," she said softly. "I'm here." Jeremy opened his eyes, and a weak smile crossed his face. "Hey, sis," he replied, his voice barely above a whisper. Elara's grip on his hand tightened. "I'm here for you, Jeremy. We'll get through this." As she sat with her brother, her thoughts drifted back to the stranger, his long legs, and broad shoulders, which had left a lasting impression on her. She couldn't quite put a finger on it, but there was something about him that drew her in and seemed familiar. The door to Jeremy's room creaked open, and his nurse walked in with a warm smile. "Time for your brother's medication, Elara," she said, her voice gentle. As she administered the medication, Elara sat there watching him and couldn't stop thinking of the possible way to get the surgery done. She must find the man suggested by the doctor, if that's what she needs to do. Elara's mind drifted back to her encounter with Victor and Lydia. She couldn't seem to forget the betrayal; just then, everything seemed raw. But a sense of determination washed over her; she was going to get through all of this. Hours ticked by, and the sun began to set, casting a warm orange glow over the hospital. Elara decided to take a walk to get her mind off everything for a bit; the fresh air would do her good. The cool evening air enveloped her as she stepped out of the hospital, and she felt a sense of peace wash over her as she walked through the neighborhood. Just a few minutes later, she felt like she was being followed; she couldn't shake off the feeling. She glanced around the corner of the street, but she didn't see anyone. She tried to shrug it off, but fear gripped her. She turned back and ran to the hospital. As she opened the door to Jeremy's room, she saw a man standing next to Jeremy. He wore a shirt tucked into neatly ironed trousers. He had broad shoulders, and his short, dark hair was carefully styled. He definitely wasn't a doctor. There was something familiar about him, she thought as she stood by the door, trying to figure out what he was doing there. She knew she had seen him somewhere. Just as she stepped into the room, the familiar scent brushed past her, and it came flashing back – it was the stranger. The room fell silent, Adrain didn't answer her immediately. He just looked at her,the afternoon light spilled through the window resting quietly on her face. She looks just exactly the same yet she was so far away. Her words rang in his ears,he slowly looked at her.“ I don't think that's a question I should answer”.Elara frowned. “Why?.“Because if I answer it”. He paused, choosing his words carefully. “It may influence your feelings”.Elara looked confused.”I don't understand”.“You have lost part of your memory Elara,I don't want you believing something simply because I told you,I want you to discover it yourself “.His answer stayed longer in the room,Jeremy who had been watching from the corner couldn't help but admire him. Most men would have seized the opportunity, but not Adrain he wanted her heart not her sympathy.Elara looked him in the eyes for a few seconds, there was no desperation in his eyes, just patience and pain. She couldn't explain why seeing that pain made her feel
Lydia stopped a few steps inside the room. She clutched the bouquet tightly, her eyes already filled with tears.“Elara”. Her voice trembled.” Oh no look at you”.She hurried to the bedside before anyone could stop her and hugged Elara tightly.Elara hesitated for a second before returning the hug.“I'm so…ory” Lydia whispered. Her shoulders were shaking as if she was crying.” I was so scared when I heard about your accident”.Elara slowly parted her back.” It's okay”.Lydia pulled away, wiping the cornea of her eyes. “ No it's not okay”. She gently touched Elara's face .” You are my little sister,do you know how scared I was?Elara stared at her, something in those words should have comforted her but instead she felt strangely empty.“I'm sorry,” Elara said. The doctor's word echoed in her ears.” You may not recognize everyone immediately so don't force yourself”.Lydia forced a smile. “ You don't have to apologize “.Lydia noticed the confusion in Elara's eyes.So it is true, she reall
He blinked and looked away.Alex's phone vibrated and he looked at Adrain.” Sir u think we found something”.Adrain answered almost immediately.” What's it?Alex's voice became unusually tense .” The car that hit Miss Elara wasn't an accident”.Adrain face hardened, then his blood ran cold when Alex said .” we found evidence that someone was following her before the accident “.Immediately Alex said those words, Adrain quickly turned towards the hallway without wasting any more seconds. And Alex followed behind.“Now tell me what did you find? His voice was low but Alex still didn't agree to show him there.“ Not here sir”.Then they walked to an empty consultation room, closing the door behind them.Alex placed a tablet on the table and tapped the screen twice. A surveillance video began to play. The video showed Elara's car leaving the house that morning and another car following her almost immediately. The car maintained distance,he wasn't close nor was it far.“It followed her for
The room was silent which became suffocating for Adrain.Adrain froze, his hands still suspended in the air while the words echoed in her ear.“Who are you?”.This was far much crueler than what he had imagined would happen if she woke up.She looked at him the same way people look at strangers on the street. The warmth that filled her eyes when she looked at him had disappeared. It was as if the woman who had loved him had disappeared overnight. The doctor quietly stepped into Elara's room.“Mr. Vale” but he didn't answer. His gaze never left her face. The doctor walked closer to him, tapping his shoulder. “ I think it would be better if you give her some time”.That finally pulled him back to reality,he slowly brought down his hands. He opened his mouth again to speak but no words came out. What would he possibly say to her now?I'm the man that loves you,she wouldn't believe that.I'm the reason you're lying down here, that truth would hurt her too much.He forced himself to smile, wea
The beeping of the machine echoed through the room and Adrain didn't know when he slept off.His forehead still rested on Elara's hospital bed,and his hands wrapped around hers.Adrain had stayed by her side throughout the night. When morning came nothing changed except for the fact that Elara's finger twitched. At first it was so little but then it twitched again, better this time that it woke Adrian up from sleep. His eyelids fluttered open, at first he was Abit out of it before his eyes went to the hands beneath him.He felt his heart stop.“.... Elara”Another tiny movement, this time he became really sure that her finger moved.“Doctor”His voice echoed through the hallway, and a few seconds later, a doctor rushed into the room with two nurses.“Please step aside Mr. Cake”“But…”“Please….”Adrain looked at Elara one last time before slowly releasing her hand and walking out of the room. The door closed behind him.Jeremy, who had been sleeping outside in the waiting room sleeping,w
The maternity ward was two floors above Elara's room. She had been rushed to the hospital. She didn't expect what had just happened to her at all, even though she knew that Adrian was no ordinary man,she didn't expect him to do what he did to her even on her condition. The doctor that attended to Lydia was very precise,he didn't try to cover up anything rather he just told her in plain language that the push had triggered something they called placental abruption which doesn't look good coupled with the initial complications she already had and had refused to go for an operation. The doctor had said they would need to monitor her since the baby is under stress.“Will my baby survive? She asked with fear in her eyes.“We are fighting for that outcome but currently you need to be monitored and try to stay calm please stressing yourself will result in stressing the baby”.Lydia looked at the ceiling and then to the machine connected to her. She had tried for the past few months to try not
Adrian Mansion “What should we do boss”. Alex asked. He stood before Adrain, across from where he's seated close to the pool.“ Just let him be for now,I know where to get him”. He said while sipping his red wine placed at the table close to his seat. With that Alex left.Adrain laid with his sun s
