LOGINChapter 5.
RONAN
"Let's do it raw, I like it raw." Alice stated.
"We just met." I almost rolled my eyes at her.
"It doesn't matter. I do not like it when a man uses condom, it's uncomfortable and not fun." She explained.
I sighed and got up. I picked up my underwear and wore them.
"What are you doing?" She asked.
"I'm not interested anymore," I said.
I put on my pants and my other clothes on while Alice sat naked on the bed and just watched me.
I took out a few bills from my wallet and placed it on the bed.
"It was nice meeting you. But let's not contact each other again," I said.
I turned around and left.
"What a weird bitch." I muttered under my breath as I made my way out of the hotel premises.
I hailed a cab and got in.
EMILY
I stood outside the balcony waiting to see if I'll see the math teacher but even after staying outside for hours, standing and sitting on occasions, I couldn't even get a glimpse of him.
I sighed dejectedly and walked into the house.
Just as I got inside the house, I heard shouts from the sitting room.
"Jeremy must have done something bad." I told myself and shook my head.
But just when I decided to ignore the shouts and head back to my room since I could already guess what Jeremy might have done to make my mom angry—caught buying a video game character or playing video game, I heard another scolding scream.
I couldn't ignore the shouts, so I headed towards the sitting room.
Jeremy who is on a short break from school wouldn't stop making my mother complain half of the day.
I hurriedly made my way to the sitting room but who I met on his knees and in the middle of my parents was not Jeremy but Marvin, my eldest brother.
From what I could recall, Marvin had never done anything to make my parents angry, not even once.
But now, I wondered what could be his crime.
The atmosphere in the sitting room was cold, tensed and uncomfortable.
I looked at my mom's face and she was red with anger.
It felt like Marvin had really done something bad.
"What happened?" I whispered to Jeremy who I had snuck up to from behind.
He was standing behind the sofa.
"Marvin got a girl pregnant." He whispered back.
"What!" I could not help but scream. I tried to close my mouth but I couldn't. My eyes were almost bugging out as I stared at Marvin in shock whose head was bent and still on his knees.
"How could you do this huh? How could you? What do you want people to say?" Mom lashed out.
She placed one hand on her forehead while the other hand on her waist, she looked so done and frustrated.
My dad moved closer to Marvin and pulled him up to his feet.
"We have to talk about this calmly. Shouting wouldn't undo the deed. We just have to put our heads together and fix this." Dad stated.
Mom glared very hard on dad but dad didn't bulge. He made sure to shield Marvin when he stood up.
The whole scene felt so crazy. I couldn't believe my eyes.
My brother who was the calmest and most decent got a girl pregnant?
It was a huge shock.
"Who is the girl he got pregnant?" I asked Jeremy who was just staring at Marvin.
"Our pastor's daughter, Naomi." Jeremy replied.
Before I could scream again, Jeremy quickly used his hand to cover my mouth. I suppressed the scream and swallowed hard.
Wow! Who would have thought?
Dad pulled Marvin and the both of them left the house.
Mom sat wearily on the floor.
"Mom!" I ran up to meet her and tried to help her up but she wouldn't just bulge. Her eyes glistened with tears, she was barely holding them from rolling down.
That night, the house felt cold and empty. We didn't eat dinner together as mom just served the food and left.
Jeremy took his portion and left. I took mine too and went to my room.
Dad and Marvin were not back from wherever they went to.
Nobody came downstairs to watch tv.
Even when Marvin and Jeremy were not at home and it was just me and my parents, the house didn't even feel this quiet.
My mother was really disappointed.
I ate my food and went to bed early.
The next morning, I ate cereals and made my way outside.
I didn't even get a glimpse of any of my family members before leaving.
Outside, I saw Mr Ronan walking out of his house.
"Good morning sir." I smiled as I ran up to catch up with him.
"Good morning." He replied after taking a quick glance at me.
That was more than enough for me, I smiled happily.
I kept rambling the whole time as we walked to the bus stop. He had long strides but I had pretty long legs so, I was able to catch up with him.
He didn't react much to whatever I said. He just kept a straight face and kept walking.
I turned around and started walking backwards as I talked.
"That's dangerous. Turn around and look at where you're going to so you don't fall," Mr Ronan said.
It made me smile even more harder.
"Are you worried about me?" I smirked. He didn't say anything but just kept walking.
"You look so cold, you're not even fun, old guy." I teased him.
"Old?" He huffed. "I'm not."
I laughed. Oh! Seems that word got to him.
Suddenly, I stepped on my wrong foot and twisted my ankle. I was almost falling when Mr Ronan caught my hand to stop me from falling.
I smiled and grabbed his hand properly then, he pulled me to stand properly. But as I stood very close to him, I couldn't help myself but stand on my toe and placed my lips on his.
Chapter 17. RONANI took the photos and looked at them. It was the photo of my professor and I entering the hotel room holding each other. I folded my arms in a tight ball as I stared at the photos. "That was pretty fast. To think you did a quick background check on me and got feedback so soon," I said and dropped the photos back on the table. "I already did a background check on you before you resumed, I just didn't say anything." She replied and crossed her legs. "Then you should know that this wasn't true and I was cleared." I told her. "Well, it doesn't matter. Lie can become truth and truth can become a lie. People believe what they see," she said. "So, you're telling me it's a must to appear on the tv show?" I asked. She nodded her head with a smile. "Fine." I nodded my head and stood up. She smiled at me and kept the photos away. "Good! See? It's that easy. If you had agreed in the first place, we wouldn't be having this conversation." She stated, her shoulders rais
Chapter 16. RONAN At that moment, I just wanted the ground to open up and swallow me. I face palmed my forehead and let out an invisible scream. Never felt this embarrassed in a pretty long time. "I'm sorry, I thought it was someone I knew." I apologized. She hissed at me and quickly went to help Michael up. "Babe, are you okay?" She asked with a pout as she helped him stand on his feet. "Next time, you should confirm properly before making a move." Michael scolded. "I'm sorry Michael." I apologized. He touched his busted lip that had blood stained on it and winced. The girl would not stop glaring hard at me. They brushed past my shoulders roughly as they walked away. I looked at the direction of the restroom but just turned around and left. Just outside, I met Emily by the entrance. "Mr Ronan! What are you doing here?" She looked so excited as her lips stretched out into a wide smile. "Same thing you're here for—attending a wedding," I said. "Who are you friends with?"
Chapter 15. RONAN "Did you get the invitation too, Nan?" Felix asked as we sat in the sitting room watching football. "What invitation?" I asked as I glanced away from the tv to look at him. "You remember Naomi Walter? Your first love in middle school?" Felix asked with a smirk. I rolled my eyes at him. "You could just have told me her name without adding that she's my first love." I told him. "He likes teasing you about it." Boren chuckled. "Yeah. So, what about her?" I inquired. "Apparently, she's getting married this weekend. I don't know much about the guy's family but I think they met in church." Felix replied. "Oh! really? Good for her.""Don't be like that, let's all attend the wedding together. Old classmates might be around and we get to have a small reunion." Boren chipped in. I wanted to decline again but my phone made a new message alert. I took my phone and opened it. It was an invitation to Naomi and Marvin's wedding. I couldn't decline anymore since I was
Chapter 14. RONAN I hit my ringing alarm, turning it off before I turned to the other side of the bed. I stretched out my body and yawned tiredly before getting out of bed. I went to my closet to pick out my outfit for the day. As I went through my clothes, I took out my jacket I had given Emily and looked at it. Then, something fell off from the pocket of the jacket. I picked it up and it was an envelope. I opened it and read the letter in it. "Thank you for the jacket, Mr. Ronan. Let's fix a date so I can buy you dinner to properly thank you."I found myself smiling as I read the words and why did I read the words in her voice too?I slapped my face lightly and shook my head. "Snap out of it!" I told myself and quickly disposed off the letter in the trash bin. But as I made my way to the bathroom, I turned back and picked up the letter. I dust it off and kept it gently on my reading table. I found myself whistling and skipping happily as I made my way to the bathroom. I
Chapter 13. EMILY I looked at Nora and Sophie who were stealing glances at each other as if waiting for the other to speak up. "Um...I don't know what you think it is but I got bitten by a mosquito. It was really so huge like a blood sucking vampire." Nora lied with a straight face. I almost burst out laughing. I covered my mouth and stared at the floor, holding my laughter. "Really? I hope you're okay? You don't need to see a doctor?" Our form teacher asked and she looked genuinely worried. The students in the hall were staring at us but with some students glaring as we were disrupting their reading time. "I'm fine. It should go down by tomorrow." Nora nodded on her. "Okay. Go on and seat."Sophie and Nora looked each other and the corner of their mouths curved in a slight smile. *"Who can solve this?" Mr. Ronan asked as his darted to each of us in the class. I looked at the equation on the board and just sighed.Clara, our top student and who they call a math genius put u
Chapter 12. SOPHIE "After what you did at the cafeteria, you couldn't even reach out to me during the weekend. Did you even have to be so mean?" Nora pouted and adjusted her glasses. I held her hands in mine and started to swing them playfully. "I'm sorry, my mother confiscated my phone and all my electronic gadgets all through the weekend." I replied with a smile. "I really can't wait for you to finally go to college and leave that godforsaken house," Nora said. "Me too."Nora and I started dating few months ago and we have been keeping things on a low. We didn't even have to say that we should keep our relationship a secret, we knew we just had to. If my parents found out about my sexuality, I'd be killed. And if Nora's family found out, she might be told to leave the country and never set her foot here again. And our school does not approve of such relationship too and we'll face expulsion. Our relationship wasn't something that people would be glad to hear about or root f
Chapter 11.EMILY I froze, my eyes bulging out as I stared at my phone for a long time. I covered my mouth and sat up properly on my bed. What the fuck? Who the hell actually sent this?I dialed the number that sent this but the call didn't go through. I threw my phone to the bed and shook my h
Chapter 10.RONANI bumped into Emily as I made my way to one of the classes.I adjusted my glasses and looked down at her and her doe eyes met with mine.
Chapter 9. EMILY Mr Ronan scooped me in his arms and looked down at my face that had gone suddenly hot and flushed. "Are you okay?" He asked. I rolled my eyes. "Of course I'm not."We got outside the school and he flag down a taxi. I felt students eyes on us but I couldn't be bothered at that m
Chapter 8. RONAN I got home to meet not even a single soul. I made my way to the fridge and poured cereal in a bowl and poured liquid milk in it. I dropped my leather briefcase on the counter stool beside me while I ate my cereals. When I was done, I rinsed it off and dropped the plate and the
