LOGIN"ALESTERIA~!"
"Alesteria~!"
"Alesteria~!"
'Ah, now I know why I feel irritated minutes ago. It was a premonition.'
Alesteria looked at the boy who interrupted her sleep and saw a boy with light blonde hair and deep blue eyes, there is even a dimple on his cheek as he smiled brightly at her.
Even though he is smiling like that, Alesteria knew that this boy looks like someone who causes trouble.
Alesteria looked at the boy once again as she is still in her nanny's embrace and gave the boy a blank look, clearly displaying her irritation towards him.
"Wow, Ales is staring at me! Do you find your brother handsome?"
'I find you annoying.'
The boy, who is also the first prince of the Vlatka kingdom, is named Aldrich Thaddeus Alaric.
Obviously, he is Alesteria's older brother.
Alesteria remembered the first time he saw this boy and it immediately reminded him of one of his friends in the mountains. He was the same in terms of they may look innocent but they cause trouble whenever they went.
That is how Alesteria puts it, but she can tell that this boy is much more dangerous.
The first prince didn't seem to notice the irritation in her eyes as he simply smiled brightly at her. He extended his hand and opened his palm, revealing a cute little flower crown with white and pink flowers combined.
"For you~!" He said as he tried to reach Alesteria but he was still short, and so, the nanny has to lower herself so that Aldrich could reach Alesteria.
Aldrich gently placed the flower on top of her head as he smiled brightly again, this time, he is poking her soft cheeks.
Alesteria was surprised at his mischievous older brother and the annoyance in her eyes quickly fades. She sighs and reached for the flower on top of her head and when she did, she smiled widely.
'Okay fine. Since you are this cute, I'll forgive you.'
Alesteria is weak to all kind gestures and sincere gifts.
It was a pretty shade of white and pink flowers that are in the same species, there are yellow pollens in the center giving them a contrast. It seems that it had recently bloomed as she can still see fragments of mana inside.
"Your highness! You shouldn't give the princess a flower!"
As she was admiring the flower, it was suddenly taken away from her head as gently as they could, which made Alesteria's eyebrows twitch.
It was the one who accidentally implied that Alesteria is not His Majesty the Emperor's daughter.
Aldrich noticed that Alesteria was upset because the gift was taken away from her, looked at the maid with a cold stare as his aura revealed itself.
It was a beautiful shade of gold. It was light and blinding, but at the same time, it felt like it would swallow you whole.
"That was my gift to Alesteria!" He shouted.
Nanny had to take a step back at his outburst while holding Alesteria securely as a strong gust of wind knocked the maids down.
Alesteria could see Aldrich's aura wildly spreading across the room as the air intensified. Nanny also has a hard time fighting the aura because of how powerful it is.
Oddly enough, it just felt like a breeze to Alesteria.
"Control your temper, stupid brother."
The aura Aldrich was emitting soon diminished as a blue color surrounded the room, almost like a barrier.
It felt cool, not cold, to the skin.
Alesteria looked at who spoke and hed eyes immediately sparkled in delight upon seeing the second prince, Aimilios Theodore Alaric.
If Aldrich is expressive, Aimilios is the opposite of that.
Aimilios is the type of boy who keeps his thoughts to himself and is always calm. He is also considered as the secretive type as he likes to never display any of his intentions to other people.
This seems to make sense to Aldrich but he still pouted. The aura surrounding him slowly disappeared as the air in the room became easier to breathe in again.
'Aimilios timing is just perfect.' Alesteria thought as she continued to stare at him.
Aimilios saw Alesteria staring at him and he immediately walked towards her, seeing that his baby sister became upset because her flower crown was taken from her.
He decided to take the flower crown from the maid and proceed to give it to Alesteria as he extended his hand.
"You can look at it but you can't touch it." He said then he turned to the maid.
"This is okay, is it not?"
The maid, who has left no choice but to agree to the genius prince, nodded silently as she backed to the corner while bowing her head.
The first prince pouted again and whined at his brother.
"Why are you allowed to give it to Alesteria when I was the one who brought it?!" He complained.
'Goodness. How childish...but it was cute.'
Aimilios looked at his brother like he is an idiot, which in his mind, he is.
"It is because you are rough. Alesteria is fragile and I am gentle."
"What does that mean?!" He shouted once again but Aimilios decided not to talk any further.
Meanwhile, Alesteria gave out a laugh and unknowingly clapped her hands which caused the two boys, and the nanny, to stare at her cuteness.
They both looked at her and Alesteria saw that they have a warmer gaze and a softer look on their faces.
They both reach for her, Aimilios on her right and Aldrich on the left, as she grabbed their hands from each side while she smiling brightly at them.
She also grabbed their finger which she can only hold because their hands are big compared to hers.
The princes stared at the small hand that held their finger and they can't help but feel happy.
"She grabbed my finger, Theo! Look! She grabbed my finger!"
The other boy hummed, soft blush gracing his cheeks.
"Hmm."
'Oh lord, they are just cute brothers.' Alesteria thought to herself as she watches the first prince fawn over her hand holding her finger and the second prince just staring at it.
The door suddenly opened which caused great shock to the baby and she let go of their hands.
The princes became annoyed that their bonding with their sister had been cut short and were about to scold whoever interrupted them when they saw the familiar figure by the door.
"The emperor, his majesty, Emperor Artaxerxes Alaric."
Alesteria couldn't help but grimace at the sudden appearance of her 'father'.
'You must've heard that Aimilios and Aldrich are here.' She muttered in her mind as a man entered the room.
The man entered the room and everyone could see how dignified he is and how he carried himself rather elegantly.
He has long platinum hair that some of it covers his eyes. His left eye is black while the other is gold, with a hint of blue in them.
That everyone will be mesmerized by him but at the same time, he has such authority and commands that all of the staff in the room naturally bowed their heads to greet him.
The princes are no exception to that.
Alesteria was staring straight at the emperor when all of a sudden, her line of sight was blocked by Aldrich since the nanny was still kneeling.
"Greetings, your majesty. The sun of the empire."
"Hmm. Now move."
'That's not how you talk to your son, father.' Alesteria angrily said in her mind as she glared at the emperor.
It went unnoticed as Aldrich moved to the side and the emperor reached his arms for her, signaling the nanny that he wants to carry her.
The nanny immediately gave Alesteria to the emperor as he looked at the glaring princess. He didn't even notice it as he was just looking at her lovingly.
She instantly felt his strong arms envelop her as if he was protecting her while holding her dearly.
"Alesteria, my princess." He called, his voice is deep and cool, just like Aimilios' aura.
She stares up at him to meet his gaze as he stared back and she can perfectly see how handsome he is.
'Geez! A father like this is such a blessing, look at this face! So handsome!'
Alesteria had never seen anybody so good-looking in her previous life. But then again, she lived in the mountains and secluded herself.
"My sweet Alesteria. Daddy is here now." He said, but this time, softly.
He brushes his fingers across her cheek and she absentmindedly held on to one of his fingers. He looks shocked at first but gradually smiled lovingly.
"Bobapopo." She babbles cutely.
He chuckled at her babbling and poked her cheek with the finger that she was holding. She just stares intently at him and didn't notice that he had signaled one of the servants that he brought along with him.
She removed her gaze from him and saw the servants bow at her, even the knights that are by the open door, bowed.
"Now that the princess has grown, prepare for her receiving of her second name. I want it to be done as soon as possible." He ordered.
The servants and knights bowed.
"We will obey his Majesty's order!"
"And also..."
The servants raised their heads to look at him again as they waited for his second command.
The emperor stared at Alesteria for a minute as she responded by tilting her head to the side and staring back at him, unknowingly attacking the emperor with this cute act.
The emperor then opened his mouth and what he said next shocked the people who heard what he commanded.
"Also, prepare a ruby emerald stone for the princess' tiara."
Everyone, even Alesteria who knew what the ruby emerald stone is, stared at the emperor with wide eyes.
'Are you kidding me?!'
ALESTERIA HAD spent the entire week staring at the ceiling, watching the shadows stretch and warp in the moonlight. Then came the morning, which she spent pacing a relentless trench into her bedroom rug. By the afternoon, the isolation had curdled into desperation, leading her to a series of increasingly poor decisions."This is a terrible idea," Parie stated from her perch on Alesteria’s shoulder. It was at least the twentieth time the pixie had said it since they left the palace."There it is again," Alesteria muttered, pulling the hood of her cloak to her face, "The nagging voice of my conscience. I thought I drowned you out three blocks ago.""I am not your conscience; I am your sanity," Parie snapped, tugging sharply on a strand of Alesteria's hair. "I am serious, Alesteria. You are not emotionally equipped for this right now. Look at your hands—you’re shaking.""I am not shaking. I am... vibrating with resolve.""That is a lie, and a structurally deficient one at that."Alesteri
THE WORLD seemed to stop, collapsing into the narrow space between them.Alesteria stared at Parie. Parie stared back. Neither of them moved; neither dared to breathe. The air in the room grew instantly heavy, thick with a truth that had just been unceremoniously dragged into the light."...What?"The word came out as a fragile thing, barely above a whisper, cracking under the weight of her disbelief.Parie looked away first. It was a mistake. Because the exact moment the fairy’s gaze dropped, Alesteria knew. She knew with an absolute, terrifying certainty that whatever impossible words had just left Parie’s mouth were true."Say that again," Alesteria commanded, her voice dropping an octave, steadying with a dangerous edge.Parie’s shoulders slumped, the weight of a centuries-old secret finally crushing her small frame."Alesteria—""Say it again."The fairy closed her eyes tightly, as if bracing for an impact. "...Ich is Zane."The room fell into an absolute, suffocating silence. A
THE WIND picked up as Alesteria used her magick to go back without going through the side gate of the palace. The moment she did, Alesteria thought that she had almost made it.Almost.The palace corridors were quiet, save for the occasional guard making their rounds. She had slipped through her balcony and carefully avoiding the main halls, taking routes she knew by heart.A successful mission.Or so she thought. She had just placed her foot on the marbled balcony as she removed her cloak, going inside her room, when she heard that extremely familiar voice."Where have you been?"Alesteria froze.Slowly.Very slowly. She turned around and at the doorway, his hand still on the knob, as he was just entering the room, stood Aldrich. The two blinked at each other for a moment before Aldrich slowly crossed his arms as he stares at you with an unimpressed expression, his eyes dark or maybe that is just because there isn't an ounce of light in your room, except for the moonlight beaming thr
THE INN was quieter than Alesteria expected for a place tucked within the crossroads district, or maybe that is just her imagination, but regardless, it felt like the world had come to a halt as she is alone with Ich.Wooden beams overhead creaked softly whenever someone moved upstairs on the second floor of the inn. The faint scent of spiced stew lingered in the air, mixing with the warmth of burning hearthwood. Outside, rain had only just stopped—leaving the streets washed clean and glistening under lanternlight. She hadn’t planned to stay long.Yet somehow, she did.He wasn’t doing anything remarkable—just turning a cup between his hands, as if he were waiting for time itself to make up its mind. But there was something about him that made the space around him feel… quieter, like even noise hesitated before reaching him.Alesteria noticed him because he noticed her first, not in a dramatic way, no sudden movement, no sharp glance, just a brief pause—like the world had slightly misa
THE SUN had already begun its descent, the lights starting to fill in the streets as the market turned into a night life that many enjoyed. On the other hand, Parie is looking at a sign, trying to figure out where they are, when Alesteria finally admitted they were lost. "We are lost. Yep, we are." "We are not lost," Parie said for the seventh time. "We've passed that fountain three times." Alesteria replied with a groan, already feeling the tiredness settling in her aching feet. "It has a very memorable fountain." "It has a broken fish statue." "Exactly." Alesteria sighed. The capital's outer districts were far larger than she remembered, and after hours of wandering through markets, gardens, and unfamiliar streets, they had somehow ended up near one of the empire's trade roads. She never realized that the capitalnis very large, travelers crowded the area, merchants guided wagons toward the city gates, adventurers and mercenaries moved in small groups, their laughter
THE PALACE gates had never felt so suffocating, until now. Three days had passed since Alesteria's return and she is obviously welcomed, but being gone for so long is bound to have its effects. She had been having tea with her friends and brother during those three days and they refuse to let her leave their sight. She knows she is loved but she doesn't want to be watched all the time. Alesteria hated it, having eyes on her like she will disappear in an instant. So, before sunrise, she managed to escape before the maids can check in on her or even the knights shifting their schedule to guard her came and realised she is gone. During this, she is not entirely alone in escaping either. "You do realize this is a terrible idea." Parie flew to her side as they managed to slip through the guards rotation as Alesteria pulled and adjusted the hood of her cloak, they easily slipped through a side gate and onto the waking streets of the capital. Alesteria grinned. "Then it's a pe
ALESTERIA GOT back a little past eight last night, without being detected and woke up earlier than usual. It is not that she had a hard time sleeping, it was just there is a lot on her mind that day that wanted some answers. So, all she did until she was called for breakfast was to ponder about Nich
"SO, HOW are we going to find Alesteria?" Parie's voice echoed in Klaus' ear as they walked the central market, many merchants and stall still set up even if the sun is almost setting; some of them even turned their lights on. "We should ask some vendors here, maybe they've seen her." Klaus wore a c
THAT SAME day, when Parie and Klaus finished talking, they both returned to Alesteria's room only to find multiple knights and maids outside while talking to themselves, noises can be heard inside as they went closer. "What is happening?" Parie asked as she stare at the people in front of Alesteria'
"ARE WE there yet?" Alesteria asked as she avoided a rock in her way, holding unto the tree branch in front of her as her other hand held her skirt so it would not be dirtied more than it has. Her dress, which was once a white and gold mixture of colors, has now been colored with brown at it stains
