LOGINIt took about 3 days for me to leave to go out and get my daughter. I had to rearrange some meetings and things of that nature. The hardest task was telling my mate and children of my child. I assured them even I was in the dark about her, and it was from a relationship I had prior to meeting their mother, who's my mate. Lisa was pissed and Sierra was upset that she wouldn't be the only girl anymore. Daniel was the only one who seemed unsure but kept his reservations to himself. Now, we're on my private jet towards the town that's halfway across the country to get my pup. By the time we landed, it's already close to 5 pm. It was me, Luke, and my commander Bruce, along with some warriors. My gamma, Jake, stayed behind to watch over things for me. We hopped into the rentals and sped off towards my daughter.
"Kwenali." I tested her name out. It felt so strange yet familiar. I was excited to meet her, but I was also really anxious. What if she rejects me? What if she thinks I abandoned her, when really I didn't even know of her existence? I tried to calm my nerves and assure myself that those things wouldn't happen. We pulled up into a beautiful neighborhood and stopped in front of the house number Minnie mentioned in the video. Her name is actually Missy, but because she wasn't no taller than 5' 4, everyone called her Minnie. Luke, Bruce, and I got out while the others waited in the cars. "Does she know we're coming? I don't want her to cry or faint or something?" "I would hope she does, Luke, but I'm assuming she doesn't know about her daddy either. Maybe her mother did what she did for Brandon and left a video." Luke and Bruce's commentary on our way up the driveway and to the door was not helping one bit. "Will you two shut the fuck up. I'm already nervous as hell. And y'all two talking like this is a wild life documentary isn't helping." They both snorted, trying to hold in their laughter. I got to the door and felt for the key on top of the door frame that was pretty high up. It wasn't a problem for me to reach since I'm about 6'3. I turned the key in the door and opened it. We walked in, and for the most part, it was silent. I was hit with the smell of Minnie. She used to smell like chocolate and butter, a sweet and savory smell that used to have me addicted. As we made our way further in, we heard a voice coming from what looked like the living room. No lights were turned on, but thankfully, the sun was still out, giving the house a light glow. We walked around a wall that separated the den from the living room. The voice grew louder the closer we approached. There, on the coffee table, sat a laptop opened to a video where Minnie was speaking. This video was different, though, and when I heard here call out Kwenali, I knew this was the same type of video I received. I looked down, and there she was, my tiny daughter. She was curled up beside the couch on the floor, sleeping to the sound of her mother's voice. I could still make out the tears that ran down her face. She was absolutely stunning. Her most striking feature, her hair. It fanned out around her and drapped over her face some. I kneeled down and pushed her hair away from her face, and my heart lept into my stomach. "Wow, B. Is this her? She looks just like her mom. She's beautiful." I heard Luke behind me say, but I was too caught up at gazing at my daughter. She was breathtaking. She smelled like a mixture of me and her mother. I have a natural forest scent. She smells like cocoa and leaves. Axel is practically pacing with joy that we found her and already adores her. That's when a thought settles in my mind. She smells like her parents, but she smells completely human. I take another whiff of her, and I don't smell a wolf at all. Axel and I both agree she's ours for sure, but we just don't smell a wolf. "Do you guys smell a wolf on her? Axel and I can't." Luke and Bruce sniff the air and come up with nothing as well. "Does that mean she's not actually yours?" Bruce asked, and I growled at him. He raised his hands in surrender. "I didn't mean it like that, alpha. I'm just asking because she smells completely human. That's all. It's crazy to think she's the child of an alpha but has no wolf. Not only that, but her hair color is silver." I frowned. She's mine, no doubt about it, but her hair being silver can be a problem. If she's who I think she is, then her life will be drastically different than what she's used to, solidifying Minnie's perspective of keeping her away from me was the best thing for her. I was so caught up in just seeing her that I completely forgot what her having silver hair could mean. "No. There's no way it could be that and have no wolf. That doesn't make sense." I turned to Luke as he spoke. Something wasn't adding up here. "Look, I don't know about all that. I'll just have to contact my parents when we get back. All I know is, she is mine and she's coming with me." I picked her up. She was light as a feather. Her skin was maybe a shade or two lighter than her mother's, but she, too, had that deep chocolatety glow against her skin, her hair being silver just highlighting it more. My daughter was absolutely gorgeous. Now that I have, she will never be without me ever again. "Grab her things, and let's go." Luke and Bruce did as they were told, and we all left to go back to my pack, the Blackcresent moon. She slept the entire drive back to the air strip and the entire 5 hour flight. I was beginning to worry since I didn't know how long she's been asleep before I got to her. Once we landed and got close to our borders, I mindlinked the pack's doctor and asked him to meet me at the packhouse in 15. Once back, I carried her back out in my arms while everyone else grabbed her belongings and took it in behind me to her room. It was late at night, so there weren't many eyes on us. I took her to a room that was on the same floor as my other children. Now that I'm thinking about it, she's the oldest. How will all this work?? She doesn't have a wolf, at least not one that I can detect. There haven't been a ton of hybrid babies, and none has ever been with a human. How did her mother carry and give birth to my child? That is a miracle. I'm sure everyone will have questions, but I will keep things slow and at a pace. I'm not gonna treat my child like a damn test tube, and I dare anyone else to try. I get to her room and lay her down. The doc came rushing in. "Alpha! What seems to be the prob..." His words fell short when he came face to face with my daughter. He gasped. "Who... who's this?" I looked at him then back to her. "This is my daughter, Kwenali." "Call me Kwen." I jumped to move closer to her in the blink of an eye. She slowly opened her eyes, and I was again met with the most gorgeous eyes I've ever seen. I couldn't help but smile at her.Cersai's POV:I kept a trained eye on Kwen the whole night. She gave me subtle glances, touches, and head nods to keep me and Reign at bay, but it was hard. Man after man wanted a dance with my mate. I was finally able to relax when she decided she had enough and took a seat. I was pulled in many directions, each one was away from where I wanted to be.I wanted to be with Kwen.I saw when her aunt joined her. They seem to really enjoy each other's company. I was talking to a few of the heads of house of the last of the pure blood vampires. I have no qualms with vampires, I just couldn't careless about what they were discussing."Ah, Prince Cersai. It's a pleasure to finally meet you in person."One man said. A few years back, Vampire history was added to the curriculum of all high society. We needed to learn about our new found allies?? I understood that there hadn't been any new wars between us, and the new Vampire King was actually a good guy, but I knew better. Not everyone wanted
Ismelda's POV:My eyes slide into slits the moment I watched Lucius cut in between my father and Kwen. He seemed oddly close to her. My eyes glanced over to Prince Cersai, and I could practically hear his jaw clenching to keep himself to himself."Are you jealous, your highness?"I scoffed, hearing Seth's words in my ear."No."I said, never taking my eyes off the two dancing on the floor. My father was making his way back to his throne. Seth huffed out a chuckle."Then why do you stare?"I slowly turned to face him. He wore a smug look. I don't know what's been up with him as of late, but the kind, easy going man I knew him to be, was slowly chipping away. Almost as if a mask, that has been on for so long, began to slip. If so, he wore it well. Maybe even at one point, he began to believe it himself."It is not that I gawk in envy, rather I was measuring how long it would take for Prince Cersai to rip your son away from his mate? With the way things look, I say he doesn't have much t
Kwen's POV:I kept a close eye on Nina and her sketchy family. I sat at a corner table, shoes off, sipping on a wine. These people ain't serve not a lick of food, and your girl was hungry. All that socializing had my stomach touching my back. Everyone else was out and about. I watched Miza and Steph dance. They were sooooo cute together. Miza wore her red and black hair up in a messy bun of sorts, curling the hair around the perimeter of her head. Her dress was gorgeous. It was a deep burgundy silk slip, covered with all black lace. I knew she was a curvy little thing, but baby girl had a set of hips on her, and Steph had a hold of them. I chuckled, smiling at them. Kera and Elijah look majestic together. He towered over damn near everyone. Kera is a tall, curvy woman who was a little more slender than the rest of us, other than Isabell. My girl wore a sliver silk dress like the vampire princess, except hers was short, about mid thigh. The dress had long winged sleeves with a plunge n
Nina's POV: Flashback: 22 years ago... I woke up feeling weird. My eyes were opened but everything was blurry, and the voices around me, muffled. I realized I was sitting in a chair and I was directly across from someone. I held my head, trying to focus, when all of a sudden, my arm was snatched up and I was yanked from my seat. "NINA!!" I jumped at the force behind my named being called by my father and the grip he had on my tiny, thin arm. Our eyes met. "WAKE UP AND FOCUS!!" He yelled. "DON'T SPEAK TO HER THAT WAY, SEVERIN!!" My eyes and mind began to finally function. I looked back over to the person in front of me, and I went pale. She was bound to a old wooden chair, chained and guarded on either side. I looked around, not sure where I was or how I even got here. My shaky voice came out in a tiny whisper, tears forming in my eyes. "Queen Feronia?" Her sharp gaze left my father before it softened as she looked at me. "Hello, darling." She smiled. I tried so hard not to
Trackers POV: "Is everything set?" "Yeah. They wanted us to wait till it was closer to 11pm, but we'll just go with the best opening." I shook my head. "They said the shifts changes at 10:50pm, so 11 is our best bet, or maybe a little after." My partner nodded. I recieved a text from my alpha. Message: Alpha: My men are about 30 mins out. They will be on foot in 15. At that point, you get your future Luna or don't bother returning. Me: Yes, alpha. End of messages. I showed my partner what was said, and he nodded. Suddenly, the doors to our cell were opened. We walked out into the circle that they had us hung from, watching Lucius walk towards us. His arms were folded behind his arms, and he held a cool smile on his face. "Everything is ready on our in. It is almost time. Are your people here?" Lucius asked. "Almost.""Almost needs to be now." He replied, sighing. "Do you know where you're going?" My partner and I nodded. "There's a hidden tunnel through the double doo
Seth's POV:I stood by with a glass in hand, watching the horrendous show of my king dancing with such a lowly creature. To top it off, my son decided to make of show of tangoing with that woman as well. The way in which they interacted with one another, whispers began to circulate. I slowly strode around the room, my eyes fixated on the duo. "They look rather good together.""Who is that human?""Do she have some sort of relationship with the king?"I listened with great irritation to the conversations that began to spin around the rumor mill. My fingers tightened around the thin glass stem that sat between them. Lucius looked a little too chummy with the girl for my liking. I looked over. Prince Cersai stood as still as a statue, never allowing his gaze to slip away from them, arms tight around himself. I frowned. Why even allow this to happen? My gaze filtered up to the king and princess. They watched the duo dance as well, casually talking, all while keeping a lazy eye on my son.
Brandon's POV:I watched as Sierra left the room crying. I have never felt more like a failure in my life than in that moment. I have absolutely failed all of my children, in one way or another, and I can't seem to fix it. Kwen's words weighed on my mind.Is that how she saw me?Was that who I was?
Cersai's POV:It's been a hard couple of weeks. Since Kwen has come back from her mystery adventure, where she brought back Miza and Melody, and James's parents have returned, Kwen has been preoccupied with training. I've barely been able to see her. It's beginning to affect Reign and I. She trains
Constance/Eve's POV:Flashback: April 1691A few days has passed since I first saw the end of Alpha Cimone's life. It's disturbed Divine and I. I can't seem to shake this feeling of dread. I feel terrible when I think about Cimone dying, but that sense of dread is frighteningly overwhelming when I
Miles away from the royal pack...I just got off the phone with Beta Andrew. The King would like for my mate and I to return. Apparently, there are a few young ones that are in need of my mate's guidance. Sounds as if things back home are becoming more and more interesting. Plus, it would be nice
