LOGINAva’s POV
Jaxon immediately put me down. “I asked you not to come back, but clearly you never listen now, do you?” He grumbled with his usual demeanor as he walked towards the Cabin. I followed by his side immediately, afraid that the Dog would bite me if I even strayed from his corner. I was still terrified, and who wouldn’t be afraid of such a huge dog? “Are you injured?” He asked softly as we walked inside. He turned to me, a look of concern flickered in his eyes. His stare was gentle, the anger gone, but still no smile. I didn’t answer, I was too disoriented to answer. Too many things were happening at once and my brain was trying to keep off. The sight of the half naked Demi god before me was not helping. “Sit down!” He commanded, pointing to a chair close by. For some reason, all I wanted to do was obey. I sat down, watching him closely. I watch his large sweaty muscles contract as he cracks open a coconut and pours the milk into a cup. “Drink this, you are unnerved. I can hear your heartbeat from here, it should make you feel better.” he muttered, handing me the cup, my eyes meticulously tracing the veins on his arm while he did this. I accepted the cup and without delay, gushed it down; the coconut water was delicious, better than whatever it was they sell to us in Chicago. I felt more relaxed, just like he had said I would. “It is nice, thank you.” I finally spoke. He hummed without responding, and then began clearing the coconut shells. I turned my eyes to the dog sitting at the entrance, panting with his long tongue out. “Is he yours?” I asked, perhaps a foolish question. He didn’t respond to that; acted like he didn’t hear. My attention derailed again. I couldn’t help but stare at his well defined abs. I was tempted to ask about his tattoos but I already knew the response I would get; complete silence. “Fine! I am sorry for the things I said, and for coming back here.” I apologized, knowing those were the words he was waiting to hear. “I didn’t mean to annoy or defile your orders, I just wandered off with a need to vent and somehow found myself back here,” I explained in honesty. He finally looked at me again. “I saw you raging past, soliloquizing like a crazy woman. What happened back there at the mansion?” He asked in a low voice. I got up immediately. “You saw me?” I asked in curiosity. “Yes… I was on top of the Coconut tree when you walked past.” He admitted. I frowned immediately, rushing to him. “So you saw me walking right into your very dangerous dog and you did nothing?!” I yelled. “I did something… I came down and saved you.” He replied nonchalantly. Good lord, what kind of man was he? “Are you going to tell me what made you so mad or not?” I folded my arms and rolled my eyes at him. “It is your Brother, I found him in bed with Amira.” I confessed. “Oh.” He muttered casually. That was his only response as he turned away to the other room in the cabin. I chased after him. “Just oh? I just told you that I saw your brother in bed with your cousin's girlfriend, why are you not surprised?” “Because I am not. Liam was never over that girl and you should know that, after all you are his girlfriend.” He chuckled, his voice dripping with sarcasm. I rushed to walk in front of him. “She is using him, Amira doesn’t love him but he is blind to a fault! He can’t see it for himself, ” I said. “Hmm… Maybe.” “I have to save him from her, will you help me?” I suddenly asked. He paused and stared at me, a look of surprise on his face, then blatantly… He said no! “What? He is your brother, she will ruin his life if he keeps chasing after her. Not just his but that of your cousin Josh as well.” “Don’t care. Don’t wanna know.” He muttered and turned away again. I couldn’t believe he was being less concerned. What even could the quarrel between the two brothers be? “Hey! Don’t be so mean! You are his brother, if you speak to him, he might listen to you.” I chased after Jaxon again. “Why won’t you help?” I persisted, reaching out to touch him. Jaxon grabbed my arm instantly and pushed me back to the wall, gently pinning my wrist and back to the wooden wall. “I do not care what my brother does with his life, he is an adult and can make his own decisions. So don’t bother me anymore with this, Miss Taylor! Do you understand?” he growled at me. I froze, my heart racing. He was standing very close to me, his body bare and wet with sweat. I could feel his warm breath on my face, his eyes slowly moved to my lips and as if wrestling with demons, he reluctantly looked back up at my eyes. Those gray eyes, I had never seen a more intimidating pair of eyes. And when I summoned the courage to look into them, I never wanted to look away, afraid that they would vanish. “You are hurting me…” I whined, finally feeling the pain from his tight grip on my wrist. T. B. C!Ava's POVThe afternoon sun hung high above the ranch as all twelve remaining contestants gathered around the riding arena.A line of horses stood waiting beside the fence, each saddled and ready. My eyes immediately searched for one horse in particular.Storm. She wasn't there and I wasn't really surprised.Jaxon wouldn't purposely endanger her and the contestants by including her in the competition.Speaking of Jaxon, he arrived in the arena looking dashingly hot and I found myself smiling. He had on dark jeans and brown boots. A fitted black shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his forearms and a black cowboy hat.As usual, the ladies melted . It never gets boring, watching them drool over him. On the first day, I expected the glazing to last two days at most, but they look more dazed whenever they see him again.Maybe it was to win his attention, he had the power to choose the final winner after all. So if they made it to the last day, they needed to make an impression on him to g
Ava's POVI glanced at Lizzie as we continued walking through the open field.A question had been bothering me ever since our conversation started."Can I ask you something?""Sure. You can ask me anything." She replied.I hesitated. "Were you always sure?"Lizzie looked confused. "About what?""About liking women, and just women."Understanding flashed across her face. "Oh." She smiled. "You mean whether I'm lesbian or bisexual?"I nodded. "Yeah.""Well, I am just Lesbian, so I am into women only.""That makes sense.” I laughed. “When did you know?" I asked curiously.I didn't have any gay friends, so I was naturally curious to know how it works for them. Are people born gay or grow into it?Lizzie laughed immediately. "Honestly? Calvin Klein."I blinked. "What?""The underwear ads. All my friends in high school would lose their minds whenever those half-naked male models appeared on billboards or magazines."“Me too!” I laughed. "It didn't do it for you?""Not at all. In fact, I tho
Ava's POVAfter a few contestants went, I walked into the Diary room for my interview. It was difficult to focus with everything that has happened in the last twenty-four hours.Yesterday was literally the most eventful day of my life.I sat nervously in the chair as the camera operator adjusted his equipment.“Hi Ava.” Sarah smiled as she walked into the room.“Hello Mrs. Bravo.”"Ready?" she asked, as she sat across from me with her tablet resting on her lap.“Yeah.” I nodded with a smile. "As ready as I'll ever be.""Perfect. Let's begin."The red recording light came on."Miss Taylor, yesterday was your first official day as a contestant on Love or Cash on the Ranch. How would you describe the experience?"I smiled. "Exciting. Definitely exciting.""Only exciting?" She asked.I laughed. "Okay, exhausting too. There was a lot happening. The games, the cameras, the contestants, the interviews. I went from being an observer to being part of everything overnight.""And how does that f
Ava's POVJaxon leaned back against the blanket and took a sip of coffee."You'll find out during the briefing." He replied."Duh. Don't you think I know that?" I asked with a frown."Then why are you asking me?""Because I want to know now." I retorted. He sighed dramatically. "You're stubborn.""So I've been told." I flashed a smile at him.A reluctant smile tugged at his lips and then he sighed. "Fine. Barrel racing today and a shooting challenge tomorrow."My face lit up as it immediately reminded me of something."Ahz of course, Maria has been helping Lizzie practice for that. How could I forget?"Jaxon raised an eyebrow. "Has she now?""Yep. We're all rooting for Lizzie to win today, the barrel racing game. And by we, I mean Maria and I, not the other contestants.""Why?" He asked, curiosity etched on his face. “I thought you wanted to win the show.”“Yeah, but I think I can survive one loss.” I shrugged. "Moreover, Lizzie needs the win more than I do.”“Why do you say so?”“Bec
Ava's POVI woke up feeling warm under the blanket. For a few blissful seconds, I had no idea where I was.I sighed and stared silently at the bed, but the gentle sound of a snoring caught my attention and that's when it hit me.My eyes widened.Lizzie!!I looked to my left instantly. She was lying beside me, her dark hair spread across the pillow, sleeping peacefully.Seeing how close and unclothed she was, my heart nearly exploded."Oh my God." I mumbled. The memories from last night came rushing back one after another. The bonfire, the drinks, crying over Jaxon and Lizzie comforting me.Then, the sex…. Oh my God, the sex! We had sex!I covered my face with both hands. What had I done?My stomach twisted. I slowly peeked through my fingers as it was all my imagination and she would disappear. But Lizzie was still right there on the bed, asleep. She looked completely calm, meanwhile I was having what could only be described as a full mental breakdown.Lizzie was a lesbian. How had I
Ava's POVThe second elimination segment somehow felt even more intense than the first. Maybe because this time I actually cared about the people standing beside me.We were back in the Grand Hall. The stage glowed under warm lights while dramatic music blasted through the speakers.Cameras rolled across the contestants one after another, capturing nervous expressions and fake smiles. The contestants all stood in rows again. I wasn't even sure why I was standing with them because it was guaranteed that I won't be getting eliminated today.Only eleven girls would remain after tonight and I wondered who they would be.The sad part about the elimination process was that what you did today doesn't matter. The viewers are voting based on yesterday's performance which was aired today.I folded my arms tightly against the cold night breeze, watching Sarah as she walked up the stage with her cue cards.Beside her stood Jaxon and two production assistants. He had changed out of the clothes he
Ava's POV“I had the games postponed to 2pm because of you, so let's hope we can get you ready before that time.” Sarah announced as she led me out of the back door while looking through some files in her hand.“I am sorry, what exactly do I need to do?” I asked curiously. She made it sound like th
Ava's POV“You are here.” I mouthed, feeling confused.“It would… seem so?” Lizzie looked back, mirroring my gaze and confusion.I squinted my eyes. “Did Sarah send you to come and try to convince me? I told her that I needed some time, two hours isn't exactly enough time.” I pointed out.Lizzie c
Ava's POVWhile the others headed down to the Hall, we stood behind and waited for Jaxon. He soon came to meet us.“Hey ladies,” he began with a little smile. “What do you think? It was entertaining, right?”“Absolutely! I can't believe I am saying this but I haven't seen anything like it.” Maria s
