I couldn't do it. I couldn't tell him the truth, because what if he betrayed me! Or what if it was a ploy to hurt me? I wondered, as the scent of freshly made meat wafted through my nose, breaking me from my thoughts.

With every passing worry, I lifted my head higher, letting whatever it was consume me. Which, in return enhanced the smell to fill my nostrils.

This is a great reprieve from the chaos known as my life, which has been happening for the past 10 years. And I'm grateful for it. I wondered as a sense of calm riveted through me, allowing my mind to settle for a moment.

When out of nowhere, something else passed through my mind, and a horde of worries began running rampant through my brain.

What if everything and everyone I know could be betraying me? What if this is just part of the life I have to play? I pondered, but immediately stopped myself.

Because being considered a weak wolf was the furthest thing from my mind, yet I couldn't help it. Because the very day that my mom and I stepped on these lands, everyone looked disdainfully towards us. Which caused my heart to break even more.

"I shouldn't worry about it, though. Everything will turn out all right in the end. Right now, my main focus is to find out where the scent is coming from." I whispered, lifting my nose in the air and sniffing it.

Upon doing that, the smell became stronger, urging me to inch closer.

So, I did, slowly, not sure about what awaited.

"Mmm, that smells delicious. What's cooking that has an aromatic smell to it?" I asked, walking towards the kitchen.

The sounds of teeth scraping the plates lingered in the air, and my heart beat rapidly inside my chest as I made my way closer.

But, for some reason, I couldn't get the words Adam told me earlier, out of my mind.

"Sasha?" Someone whispered in my ear, placing their hand on my shoulder.

Who touched me? I wondered, bringing my thoughts back to the real world, despite the chaos running around in my mind.

Then, my eyes wondered as I stared at the person in front of me.

She was wearing a red gown, with her flowing blonde hair, all ethereal like. And she crossed her arms over her chest, looking at me with a glint in her eyes.

"What do you want?" I questioned, irritated over the silence that I thought I would have.

I stepped in here to get something to eat, yet my arch rival had the audacity to interrupt me. And the few moments of silence, was immediately broken upon hearing her voice.

"I can't be concerned about your well-being? I mean we are of the same pack. Oh wait, no we're not!" She cackled, causing the pack members to stop what they were doing, and stare at us.

With every word she spat, I felt my fists turning red, and my teeth beginning to clench.

But, as the daughter to an Alpha, and Omega, I knew that I shouldn't let their words get in the way of my inner strength. Yet, I couldn't help it.

"Oh, did I say something to hurt your wittle feelings." She stated, her voice rising with each word.

No! She did not just say that!? Did she? I thought, gearing up to fight her.

However, someone's voice entered my mind, pulling me backwards.

"Sasha, don't react in a way that would cause her to speak angrily towards you." One of my pack members, Anabella spoke to me through the mind-link.

As her words lingered in my mind, a wave of ease riveted through me urging me to think about my actions.

And I calmed down a bit, silently communicating with her.

Having Anabella here with me, despite what life had thrown at me, automatically eased my anger.

Yet, I still had this seed of doubt creeping up every now and then. Just like today.

"I don't know if I can do this. The way she speaks towards me causes my anger to rise. For your sake, I'll ignore her." I responded, disappointment filling my brain.

I desperately wanted to fight her, yet Anabella prevented me from doing so.

Now, I know it was for the best, since my arch enemy always taunted me with how she's the Alpha and Luna's daughter, and she could kick me out of the pack whenever she felt it would be best to do so.

Ugh, I shouldn't think that way. She shouldn't get to me like that. I thought, a shiver flowing through my body.

But, I know that one day, everything will change for me. And when it comes, just know that I'll be ready and waiting. Which might be a few years into the future.

Right as my mind raced, her voice, as calm as a slow moving river, popped into my brain again.

"Thank you. You know, my friend, I only have the best thoughts for you." She answered, smiling slightly as she peered at me.

Not wanting my enemy to notice our conversation, I nodded slightly, then turned and faced her. I squinted my eyes, determining what would come out of my mouth. But I didn't expect it to be done so calmly.

"Daniella, just because you've been in the pack much longer than I have; it doesn't mean you should act all high and mighty." I stated with a carefully measured tone as I stared into her eyes.

Then, I let the words linger in the air just enough to ease the tension.

"She's no use for me. I'm more powerful than she is, so it's imperative I keep my composure." I whispered to myself, forcing whatever mean words I wanted to say back down my throat.

"Sasha.." Before she could continue, I turned on my heel and about to walk to my room when I felt a sharp nail grip my wrist.

"Leaving so soon?"

"Sasha, this is true. But why aren't you believing for a moment? Don't you realize that the strength you have resembles that of the Sparkling Moon Pack's Princess?" My wolf spoke softly, urging me to rethink everything that I had believed about myself before. Yet for some reason, my brain kept preventing me from understanding what she was saying. And I felt my mind beginning to go crazy with unrelenting thoughts. With all of this stuff that has been going on, I had hoped my wolf could see what lay upon our hearts. Couldn't she try to understand all the emotions I am feeling right now! I pondered as her words lingered in the air, causing doubt to creep into my mind. But only the strongest of humans with the lineage of a wolf would go through this type of test. I doubt that could be me, as I was never seen as someone so strong. When I was younger, I always moved around a lot, going from one packland to another, which made me doubt myself. However, since the moment I stepped into my best friend's pack, a sense of hope had appeared.
