登入The way my body seemed to move across the old wooden flooring of this building, it was as though I was floating in a sense, engulfed with that same intoxicating, almost suffocating smell that anything around me seemed to fade away.
Due to my tunnel vision, I had neglected to take a glance at any of the walls either side of this odd hallway, images depicting wolves and other mysterious creatures you’d find in fairytales you were told as a child. I also have to believe it’s due to this odd hypnotic state I was placed in that I neglected to hear what gruesome sounds were erupting within the very building I was stumbling into. Sounds of muffled blood curdling screams sounded, as though some sort of cloth was placed over the persons mouth to prevent the sound escaping. Along with the sounds of slashes, punches and strangely, growls, as though some kind of wild beasts were let loose in the room just ahead of me. With all this stacked up, I should have turned on my heels and bolted out of the door as fast as I could but still, all of this danger and clear warnings which were flashing so brightly in my mind, seemed to lull into darkness, as though they didn’t exists. The moment I approached the open door which led into the main section of this large building, that knee buckling smell seemed to be the most potent and engulfing that each breath I would take, it was as though I was drowning in this scent. Without taking a minute to think, I place my foot inside the open planned room and come face to face with the most gruesome scene I had ever encountered. Even though I’d caught the attention of those inside and the pure horror which sat in front of me should have snapped me out of that trance and allowed a scream of utter terror through me, my eyes could only rest upon one of those individuals in the very centre of this nightmare, the largest man of them all. His towering structure was the first thing to catch my attention, he was by far the largest man I have ever seen and not just in height, but those rippling muscles which seemed to tense were so large, I wondered if he’d be able to walk through a door! Allowing my eyes to climb higher up his muscular body and towards his chiseled jawline, the dark brown stubble on his beard which seemed to match his luscious brown hair which was slicked to the side, my hands were almost shaking with the urge to run my fingertips through them. If I thought I had been in some kind of hypnotic state before this point due to the magnetic pull and that breathtaking smile, I could not expect how the entire world seemed to melt away the instant my eyes landed upon his bright blue ocean eyes. My breath hitched in my throat at the sheer beauty, while my heart pounded so fast inside my chest, I thought it would soon explode. My entire body seemed to freeze and rush with such pure adrenaline the longer my eyes rested upon his, the beautiful swirls of colours which seemed to dance deep within those colours drew me in to such a degree, I thought I’d never break out. From his own stance and the way those eyes of his seemed to look so deep into mine as though they were searching for something, it was clear this man had also been pulled into this odd state. But the moment his luscious lips seemed to mutter a single word; I finally snapped from my trance. “Mine.” His beyond deep but powerful and oddly mesmerising voice spoke but in that second, his voice snapped my body from its forced trance and I reluctantly, looked away from his eyes. Instantly, the deepest feeling of terror I believed I’d ever experienced rippled through my body and allowed my heart to drop to the floor at the sight. Sat right in front of me, was the most gruesome sight I’d ever seen, blood splattered all over the once pale white walls and coated the floors and ceiling, so much it seemed to drip and land on each person stood inside. Speaking of people, those four men I had seen not moments ago who seemed beyond suspicious joined the man I had become transfix by, one knelt to the ground coated in that same red substance and the others seeming to hold onto what appeared to be human sized rage dolls. But almost immediately, I realised the horrifying truth, those were not dolls in their hands, but real people. Some of their limbs seemed to be missing as though they were ripped straight off, deep slashes so deep I could see some of their intestines littered their body and dripped with the same substance that coated each person and area in this room. But when my eyes fell upon one of the bodies, his eyes seeming to stare into mine with absolute pain and terror, I felt as though I was ready to throw up and my breathing became fast and panicked as I took those steps backwards, which I should have taken before, so fast out of the room until my back hit the wall of the hallway outside. “Should I catch that girl and dispose of her Alpha?” A voice asked within the room I’d left as my entire body seemed to shake uncontrollably, I didn’t know how I remained standing at his point. “You lay a single finger on my mate; it will be me who will rip you apart!” The man’s voice who had broken me out of my trance seemed to growl so loudly and with such power, the entire house I was stood inside of seemed to wobble and shake. Staring off to the door which was still wide open and led out into the street, I force my trembling body with the help of the wall down the corridor as fast as I could, my mind so consumed with all I’d seen that the entire world began to spin so quickly, I worried I’d land on the floor of this house before I could escape. Somehow reaching the doorway, I throw myself out of the building which not only had a reputation of being odd but from what I’d just accidentally, walked into, was dangerously horrific. The world I’d been a part of for so long and one which was normal to me in some way, was now so loud and bright that I began to feel sick as I dropped to my knees. “Ivory… Ivory!” Jake’s loud voice seemed to morph in and out of the intense ringing which had taken over my ears the moment I dropped to the floor, before his hands take my shoulders as he knelt down in front of me. “What happened, are you okay?” He asked at a loss for what happened as my breathing continued to leave my lips in a fast motion and my entire body shook so uncontrollably, the horrific images I had just seen flashing so fast in my mind the sensation of sick drawing so much higher up my throat worsened. Placing his hands on either side of my face and pulling it to look into my eyes, it was shock that looked back at me once he saw the true horror in my eyes. But before he could open his mouth to speak, the loudest, earth-shaking sound ripped from behind us and in seconds, glass shattering and a thud of something hard landing on the ground beside us followed. Instant screams of those around us engulfed the area as all stood to witness one of the horrors I had walked into, one of the men I had seen ripped apart in that house, lay bloody and mutilated just beside us after having been thrown through the window. In that second, my body seemed to have enough of all of the panic and I soon dropped unconscious in the arms of Jake… but my fate now my eyes had locked onto that Alpha who was enraged to see me in the arms of another man, had been decided for me.The way this filthy excuse of a man stood in front of me, a man who had ruined my life for years and then to add the cherry onto the cake of pain, killed my brother, I couldn’t help the fury which sat in my gut hearing him now speak about killing Dominic. It was odd, these feelings I felt whenever I thought of Dominic, feelings I didn’t have before but now had to assume was due to out mate bond, but it was as though if this man thought he was getting in my way of me reaching my mate… I would hurt him in ways I didn’t believe possible. “Now let’s save us all the trouble and come with me sweetheart, I’ll be sure to handle everyone here as we leave.” Dean smiled as though I would somehow forget about everything he’d put me through and run off with him into the sunset, but still that feeling wouldn’t let up. “I am not going anywhere with you and I’m certainly, not allowing you to hurt anyone stood behind me. Now I am giving you two options, move out of my way or, I will move you out o
Following behind the long cue of women and children who seemed to also share the same panic and fear that gripped onto my body, I was led down a flight of hidden stone steps leading down into a large cellar. The room, which held no windows and a single door which was locked with four guards stationed outside and one in, the temperature seemed to be colder than outside even with the number of bodies hidden within. Grace sat beside me, her leg bouncing up and down while her face held concern, this was the first time I was seeing her in this state and not the happy, optimistic and hopeful persona she seems to wear. It was clear now that her mate was out fighting on the frontline, her optimism was gone. Lifting my head up to look around the room at the others, it pained my heart to see the same expression sat on the faces of each person, we were too far under the ground to hear what was happening which was a gift but also a curse… we had no idea what was happening with our loved ones ou
The atmosphere which engulfed me the very moment I woke up, seemed to also cling so tight onto the air outside as we made our way to where the memorial was taking place. A heavy white fog hung above us concealing the blue sky from creeping through, the freezing temperatures adding to how isolating and suppressive this day felt, my eyes remain down on the white stones of the walkway giving myself the pep talk I needed to put my own feelings to the side whenever I’m in front of the others. As we walked into the main area of the pack, right in front of the pack house, everyone seemed to be dressed in their best and most formal black clothing, those delicate glass roses in most of their hands but what did sit on all of our faces… sorrow. None of these men deserved to die in the way they did, but with the man who killed them, I know that’s his favourite type of death. Many chairs rested on the driveway in front of the largest photos of each man that was killed, beaming smiles on their fa
Sitting on the countertop of my parent's kitchen, a large serving plate from their party last night in one hand and a dishcloth in the other drying it, I watch my older brother belt out his favourite song by the sink. He wasn’t the greatest of singers on the planet, but he didn’t seem to care as he busted a move, a few bubbles from whatever he was washing moving across the room and hitting me in the face as he took a dance break. “We’re meant to be washing the dishes, not the kitchen floor.” I laughed wiping down the last of the serving plate and placing it with the pile of others beside me, Conrad soon tutting at me playfully, shaking his head. “Oh, come on Squeak, you know you love my dance moves.” He laughed even dropping the dishes back in the sink and doing a quick turn to show off, throwing my head back in laughter watching him, he walked to stand in front of me with a genuine smile on his lips. “It’s so good to see you finally, laughing again… it’s been a long time.” Conrad
The breakfast Dominic and I shared was the quietest one yet, my mind which was once laughing and joking with Dominic as we walked into the pack house was gone, in its place, that same sadness and loss I’ve felt since Conrad died. I didn’t eat much either and what I did, Dominic fed to me with my own fork watching how distant my eyes seemed. But what also seemed to linger in my chest was guilt, my family hadn’t seen or heard from me in weeks, I know how worried sick they’ll be not only because they hadn’t seen me but with the manner I was taken. Their house was covered in glass, one of the doors kicked through and with what I’d seen the day prior, I know they’ll all think I’d been killed! I just wanted to let them know I was okay, yes, I wouldn’t be able to explain everything but just enough for them to know I was safe. With this guilt and sadness in my gut, as I’m pulled into Dominic’s pack house office, I think with all that was happening with my mind, Dominic wanted me close so, I
After finally, getting out of bed and away from Dominic and all he wanted to do there, I’m able to jump into the shower and change into one of the many outfits that were hidden within my own walk in closest. Apparently, after I’d told Grace my sizes when I first arrived here, Dominic had her order as many clothes as she could and they were brought here. I wondered where they were getting clothes from this entire time and it’s been right here! We spent the first half of the morning walking around Dominic’s gigantic home, each room and hallway so elegant and slick, I was shocked it even existed. The theme of the house as like his bedroom was dark, marble floors under our feet as we walked the hallways, dim lights added to the dark atmosphere while what appeared to be a church like window stood at the top of his large staircase right at the front of the house, this allowed a stream of natural light through, such a feature I appreciated or you’d be suffocating in the darkness. He also h
Staring deep into Dominic’s eyes whose body refused to relieve its pressure from my body, I honestly didn’t know where this interaction was about to go. His eyes seemed to dance with so many differing emotions, desire and thirst for the way I spoke and the position that we were in. But behind that,
“What do you mean?” I asked watching Dominic continue to sit in his anger as though even remembering such a moment caused his anger to spike. “My Gamma located his mate around a year ago, due to his title within the pack, once he located his mate, he was to bring her to me so I could determine i
My body jolting from panic wakes me from my sleep suddenly, my eyes snapping open, my body dripping with sweat and my breathing fast, I look around my surroundings frantically and soon realise, I was laying in the spare bedroom of my parents house, a room which used to be mine when I lived here.Pl
Strolling down the familiar streets I have called home for my entire life, a sweet smile sat on my lips as I looked around, this place never changes, you see the same buildings and people each and everyday.
