2. Her mate

Kay was shocked to see Gavin standing next to her window. Without losing the seriousness of his face, he said,.

"Hey, I would like to have a word with you alone..."

Inside, Maya was saying "yes!!" for it a thousand times, as she was happy that her mate wanted to talk. But Kay was not that crazy; she knew that he had no plan of making her his mate.

Kay stood there with questioning eyes.

"Why?? Is there anything we need to talk about??" she asked him as if she had no clue about why he was here.

After hearing this, he chuckled mockingly. Kay saw his charming smile and Adam's apple moving so gracefully that she felt so many unknown feelings inside her. And his proximity was not helping at all.

"Move aside...!!" he said, but it felt like a command, and Kay moved unknowingly. In the next second, he got in and closed the window.

"Kaylynn!! We both know what is between us to talk about." he said while sitting on my sofa.

"My name from his mouth felt so good to hear...

Kaylynn... concentrate..." she screamed in her mind.

But Maya was praising her mate about how handsome he looked...

"Nice room, by the way...!!" he said while looking around. Huh!!

"Gavin, I think it's not appropriate to step into my bedroom like this... that too at this hour." Kay said without another thought while keeping her hands on her waist.

"Oh really... But I thought you were my..." he paused and looked into her eyes directly as she swallowed hard. Kay wanted to hear him say that she was his mate.

"I am your, what??" Kay said impatiently. She saw that his eyes were blank for a second, like he was mind-linking with someone.

"Ahem..." he cleared his throat as if to get out of it.

"I think I gotta go... we will talk later..." by saying that, he was about to step out.

How could he go without a proper conversation? It was like stirring all the crazy emotions in her head. Without any shame, Kay asked him,

"Just say what you were about to say... and leave..."

He turned around and furrowed his eyebrows at Kay and said,

"I am the alpha, not you..."

"Okay, Alpha, can you complete the sentence which you left half..." Kay said as if it didn't affect her much, but as if it was out of curiosity.

"I was saying, I thought you were my future beta. So I can see you whenever I want..." he said with a stupid smirk.

Kay's face darkened as she got to the point that he was simply playing with her feelings. A jerk is always a jerk...!!

"Now, my future... beta... you go and rest... tomorrow is going to be a long day..." by saying this, he left the place.

Even though he had pissed Kay to an extent, his scent lingered in her room, which soothed her mind.

'Kay, why are you fighting with him?? You should have acted nice and thrown that b*tch out of our pack...' Maya screamed in her head. Maya had fallen head over heels for her mate. She was too blinded with attraction that she couldn't see he didn't even acknowledge them as his mate even in private. And most importantly, he was announcing another she-wolf as his future Luna. What's the worst that could happen then?..

'Kay, I am not that stupid. I know his moves were not right. But I think he is attracted to us; otherwise, he wouldn't come at this time. So I think we still have a chance...' Maya said with hope.

'Maya, I don't want to be an option for him. I want my mate to choose me as a priority...' Kay responded.

'But Kay, for me, let's wait for him to open up... give him some time, maybe he will rectify his mistakes and come after us... think about that... at least for me, you should try... pretty please...!!' she squealed.

'Stop it Maya... fine, I will give him some time. But if he goes overboard, that's it...'

After saying this, Kay cut Maya out of her mind. Kay was already stressed, and Maya was not leaving her alone by talking about her beloved mate.

Hm... Kay knows that Gavin is a true playboy, but she couldn't see any playboy nature in him. Perhaps after getting a girlfriend, he became a saint. Talking about his girlfriend, she could see that Amelia didn't like her at all. Otherwise, how could a person be so mean in their first meeting? And her scent was different... like strong and dominating...

Hm... I should be careful. I can save myself. But what if she makes some trouble for my position as beta...!? I think I should talk with my dad about it tomorrow. I won't tell him that Gavin is my mate. Even if he is not ready to say it aloud, then why would I do it and make a fool of myself. Goddess blessed me with sleep that night.

No matter what or when she slept, she would be awake early in the morning and would go for a training session. After three hours spent there, she felt her stress relieved to an extent. She was almost on her way back to the mansion when she saw Gavin along with Kade coming from the woods. They were in only trousers, as they must have gone for a run in the woods.

Gavin looked so perfect, tall and muscular with a toned body and a mischievous glint in his eyes. He approached her. Then Kade looked at her and said,

"Oops, sorry Kay, I wanted to start the training with you together as you have crossed eighteen last day. But something came up at the borders that we went to check on..." Kade said, while she saw Gavin's face change into an unpleasant expression.

"Okay, Kade, there are plenty of days for that."

Then she turned towards Gavin and said,

"Good morning, Gavin."

'Good job, Kay,' she heard Maya giving her a thumbs up.

Gavin muttered "morning" and went towards the mansion. Kade was looking at him, surprised by his sudden behavior change.

"What's his actual problem..!! When we solved the issue at the borders, he was so happy. And now, after seeing you, everything went upside down... Kay, is there anything you want to tell me...??"

"Nope, why??" she said instantly.

"Nothing. I have been seeing you since we were kids, so no need to pretend. If you are not ready to tell, then okay I won't force you. But you know that you can always come to me. I got your back no matter whatever the situation is..." he said sincerely.

"I know, Kade. Love you...!!" she gave a quick hug, and she saw his frown change into a cute smile.

"KADE...!!" they both turned around as they heard Gavin almost roar his name. Gavin stood there at the entrance of the mansion with an unreadable expression.

"COME WITH ME.." It was a command for sure. And Kade followed him, as it was his duty. Gavin didn't even look at her. After the command, he went ahead as he knew Kade must be following him.
