MICHELLE’s POV.

With trembling hands, I collect the paper from the doctor and continue to stare back at it. I was not expecting what he said a few minutes ago. How can I be pregnant? Was this some kind of joke? He said I couldn’t get pregnant right? I have been trying for four years now and my efforts yielded superfluous dejections so this is why the result in my hand has me trembling.

Four years of being the Luna of my pack has got me trying to produce an heir to the legendary pack of the shadow warriors but I could not.

My husband, Alpha Nicholas would be so happy to hear this news. After all, we have been trying together. When I was just sixteen years old; my mate manifested himself.

I worked at the pack kitchen with my aunt after my father and my mother died from a pack war when trying to save Nicholas and since then, my aunt decided to just make meals for the pack house.

On that fateful day, I found out that Nicholas was my mate. I didn’t really know what being a Luna entailed but I had seen how he ruled the pack and I was more than happy to be by his side . I was nineteen when we had our mark and mate ceremony and it was one of the best days of my life. For four years, Nicholas has made me feel like the best woman on earth, he didn’t make me feel like I made a mistake in agreeing to marry him. He was the most loving husband and I cannot wait to share this good news with him.

“Are you sure of what you are saying, doctor?” I want to be sure I heard him correctly even with the papers in my hands.

“Of course Luna” he answers, “you are three weeks pregnant, congratulations”

My lips curl into a bright smile, of course I am pregnant. Finally, I can see a much bigger smile on Nicholas’s face.

“Thank you so much, doctor Bane” I say after a while, “I will take my leave now”

“I will send you a diet so you can focus on that, it will be good for the development of the baby”

“Thank you so much”

As I walk out of the office, the smile on my face grow wider, I am of course the happiest Luna on earth now. The moon goddess has finally decided to smile on me, I can not contain my excitement.

I take out my phone to call him but decide against it, he could be in a meeting or he could be busy. Maybe it is best I tell him this myself. I can already feel the jitters, this is definitely the best day of my life.

As I get to the car, my driver opens the door gently and bows while I enter the car and in no time, he zooms off.

“Are we on our way home, Luna?” He asks from the driver’s seat.

Part of me wants to go home and wait for him but another part of me is too excited to keep this news to myself. I want to tell him, I want to let him know that he is about to become a father and our pack will soon have an heir. The moon goddess really loves me, I can clearly feel that now.

“Let’s go to his office” I tell him after several seconds of silence.

His forehead creases into a slight frown, “but you hardly ever visit him in his work place”

“Don’t worry, Ben” I let out a light chuckle, “it is for a good cause”

With this, I close my eyes and place my head on the headrest. I can not wait to share this news with Nicholas, he will definitely be the happiest man alive. My heart is pounding fast, I am way too excited to even hide it.

The moment he brings the car to a halt in front of the company building, one of the guards standing outside the door opens the door for me and I flash him a smile. Even though I don’t come to the company often, everyone knows me as his wife even from my car. Nicholas built an empire and I am more than happy to be a part of it.

“Good morning ma’am” Nicholas’s secretary greets me with a smile as I walk over to her. She was discussing something with the receptionist before I arrived.

“Is your boss in a meeting?” I ask her, trying to keep calm. I don’t even know what I am going to do when I see him, my happiness right now can do anything, anything at all.

“No ma’am” she responds, “he is free for most part of the afternoon”

“Thank you”

With each step I take towards his office, the smile on my face continues to grow. Moon goddess help me, I might explode in happiness before I get to his office.

But as soon as I throw his door open and step into the office, my bag falls off my hand as my eyes open wide in horror. There, my husband is standing with his dick buried in the mouth of none other than…Natalia, his fucking ex girlfriend and my…..

The office is filled with the stench of their love making which instantly makes me nauseous. Without saying anything to any of them, I turn around and run out of the office. I want to get as far as possible from them, I want to remove that scene from my head. That Is clearly not true, I am the one who has imagined that, right?..right?

The pain of seeing him in that position with someone else is so unbearable for me but I am going to wait for him to come back and give me an explanation. Something, something for me to work with. I promise I won’t drag the issue if he gives me a perfect explanation for why he did that.

I look at the huge clock on the wall, it’s already past nine and he isn’t back yet, neither did he call me. He always comes back early, we always have dinner together. What the actual fuck? I refuse to cry, he must give me a fucking explanation.

Five minutes later, I hear the front door open and his scent whiff into my nose. I would have run into his embrace and given him a kiss but with each step he takes towards me, I feel like I do not even know him.

But what’s more astonishing is the fact that he walked past me without even muttering a single word. Did he not see me at the office? Was he so high on his climax that he didn’t see me?

“Nick..” I call out to him , halting him in his tracks

“I had a hectic day at the office, Mish” he retorts, “I am not in the mood to talk to anyone right now”

What? What did he just say to me? I catch my husband cheating on me and he says he had a hectic day at the office? Is there a much bigger joke than this?

“What the heck do you think you are doing?” My anger becomes evident, “I catch you cheating on me and this is what you tell me?” My tone is full of disgust and anger, “what do you mean by you are in no mood to talk? I come in your office and you have your fucking dick In her mouth. Can’t you even give me an explanation? Something, something to justify why you did that?”

“And why should I do that?” He grits in anger, “what right do you have to ask me such a stupid question? Who are you to ask me that?”

“What?” A look of confusion flashes through my face, is he actually asking me that question now? He is looking at me and saying that to me?

The fuck I am his Luna, his fucking mate..the woman who is about to birth his child.

“I am your Luna” I half yell, “your wife and you…

“Cut it out, Michelle” he cut me short, his eyes staring back at me, “I am in no mood for this”

“What? What did you say, Nicholas” I grab a hold of his hand as tears well up in my eyes. He is hurting me, can’t he even see that?

My attention shifts to the front door again as it opens and she steps inside. The frown on my face grows. He didn’t even fuck her in his office, he has brought her to our matrimonial home…what level of disrespect is this?

“You brought your mistress home?” My tone is full of sarcasm and pain, at this point the tears are already streaming down my eyes.

“Michelle!!!!” He thunders and I flinch, holding onto my stomach in the process. Unknowingly, I am afraid of hurting the baby inside of me.

“What the hell is she doing here?” I ask him again, “shouldn’t you try and apologize to me? You cheated on me and you brought her here, you…

“Didn’t he tell you?” Natalia’s voice filter into my ear as she appears by his side, “we wanted to keep this a secret but you have become so inquisitive since the last time I saw you, Mish”

A scowl appears on my forehead as I purse my lips, what exactly is this mad girl talking about now?

“Natalia” Nicholas calls out to her, “I will talk to her myself”

“But it seems you can not do it, alpha” she replies and I get more confused the more. What exactly is going on between the two of them and what secret conversations are they holding?

“And i said I will talk to her myself” Nick retorts, “take some rest”

“Is my room still the same or you had it changed, Michelle?” Her tone is full of disrespect and the urge to slap her hard across the face envelopes me. How dare he? How dare she come into my home and act like she owns it.

“It hasn't changed,” Nick tells her.

“Sure, I will have a shower then. We had a really good time at the office, my body is still shaking from that”

With a wink, she turns around and walks away, swaying her hips from side to side

Is this really happening right now? In front of me?

“Here” he pulls out the paper from his suit.

I didn’t hesitate to collect it and when I open it, my heart sink to my knees. It is boldly written, “divorce agreement” and Nick’s signature is already stamped boldly on it.

“What is this?” I am too stunned to even complete my statement, “what…..” my voice trails off as tears well up in my eyes, what rubbish is this?

“Let’s get a divorce, Michelle” Nicholas drops the bombshell and i almost collapse to the ground but because of the little life growing inside of me, I hold myself. Wasn’t I excited about telling him we had a baby coming on the way? How did the table turn so fast, why?….

“Nicholas, you”

He cut me short, “I have already signed and I have spoken to my lawyers. You will get as much alimony as you may possibly want, that is not an issue. Just sign the papers so we can proceed”

“Are you being serious right now?” I can’t help but ask him, “we have been together for four years and now you just want to divorce me? I have been your Luna for four years Nick, we…..I catch you cheating on me in your office and you give me divorce papers? Is this your way of saying sorry? Mating with me and going behind me to fuck my elder sister?”

Yes, Natalia is my sister. Infact, my elder sister. I can’t deny the fact that she and Nicholas had a thing before I manifested as his mate but she was not the best person in the world. Even before I became acquainted with him, Natalia and I had never been in a good relationship. She hated the fact that I was born with the powers of my parents combined. Mother was a powerful priestess of her wolf clan while father was the strongest beta after the then alpha. I inherited my mother’s powers, I could heal wounds, I could commune with the moon goddess, I could spot an enemy right on while I got the strength of my father. I didn’t entirely rely on Nicholas to save me, I was capable of saving myself but this was only known to me, not even Nick knew. Only Natalia knew and we both swore an oath never to tell anyone, whoever did will die.

This oath was as strong as a wolf bond and mother oversaw it herself and that made Natalia angry, the fact that she couldn’t tell my husband. I was wise enough not to tell her the oath became invalid when mother died.

After I manifested myself as Nicholas’s mate, I had a huge fight with Natalia and she left after the whole clan accepted me, even his immediate family. None of them liked her anyways and they didn’t see her as a Luna for him, I was more close to his family, his sister to be precise.

“There is no explanation for anything, Mish” Nicholas says again, “sign the papers and let’s get this over with. I am tired of having to look at your face or having to pretend to be loyal to you. Yes, I am fucking her because she was mine to start with. You are the outsider, let’s not make this more ugly than it already is”

Gosh!! My heart shatters into a thousand pieces as his words hit me. Is he being serious right now? Looking me in the face and acting like he didn’t do anything wrong?

“Baby!” Her voice jolts me out of my reverie of thoughts, “can I sleep on your bed tonight? I missed it and I won’t be able to fall asleep without you by my side anyways” her lips are curled into a smirk.

What nonsense is she talking about now? How dare she? She comes into my home and acts like she owns it?

“Of course, princess” Nicholas answers much to my amazement and I open my eyes wide, what did he call her?

“Nick….”

“I am back to collect what is mine, Michelle” Natalia says as she grabs onto his arm, “rest assured”

“Nicholas..” I try to touch him but he shoves me off, luckily I did not fall.

“My lawyers will be here tomorrow morning, make sure to sign the papers”

Under my gaze, she leads him away and I just stand there looking at them. This is really happening in front of me. My husband brought his ex-girlfriend who happened to be my sister home and he served me divorce papers? I start to laugh as tears stream down my eyes…this has to be a fucking dream right?
