MasukI let out a scream and immediately moved away from him. I didn’t even know how to cover myself because the room was small, and the only thing inside was a chair. My clothes were still in the other room, so I had absolutely nothing to hide my body with.
“Hey! You can’t be in here—”
The man suddenly slapped Madam Lyn across the face. She collapsed onto the chair and instantly lost consciousness.
Panic flooded me at the sight.
“M-My God! Help!” I screamed.
I backed against the wall, desperately hugging myself. Fear gripped me tighter when the man finally turned his attention toward me. He had been staring at me the entire time, his eyes practically bulging out while drool dripped from the corner of his mouth.
Dear God! I never should’ve come here! I should’ve just talked to Greg instead of forcing myself to come to this place!
Why did I even listen to Camila when she said I needed to come here if I wanted to learn?
Lord, please! Help me! I promise I’ll go back to church!
My knees gave out, and I fell to the floor as the man slowly approached me. Tears blurred my vision because no matter how many times I screamed for help, nobody came. Madam Lyn was unconscious too.
Didn’t this place even have bodyguards?
What was I supposed to do now? At this rate, someone else might end up taking my virginity because of my own stupidity.
I really shouldn’t have come here. I should’ve just talked to Greg. I should’ve—
I shrieked when a loud crashing sound suddenly exploded beside me. I covered my ears and ducked my head. Along with the deafening noise came the sound of glass shattering next to me. Some shards even scattered toward my skin.
Then the man suddenly dropped to his knees and cried out in pain.
“What the fuck?! Who are you?!” the man shouted angrily.
From the corner of my eye, I saw another man emerge from the shattered glass wall. My gaze slowly lifted toward him.
My jaw nearly dropped open when I saw the man holding a gun. He wore a red long-sleeved polo with the upper buttons left undone, exposing the tattoos crawling across his neck and chest. Even his arms were covered in ink because he had rolled his sleeves up to his elbows. His hair was cut clean and short, almost military-style. I still couldn’t fully see his face in the dim light, but his presence alone was overwhelming.
“So there are no more women here willing to get paid to touch you, huh? That’s why you’re forcing yourself on someone now?” the man with the gun asked coldly.
I swallowed hard. Just hearing his voice made something deep inside me tremble. My heartbeat quickened again—not from fear this time, but from an inexplicable excitement to see him more clearly.
The man who attacked me suddenly fell fully to his knees. “T-That voice… Are you…”
“You recognized me, huh?”
The man immediately pressed his forehead against the floor. “S-Sorry! Sorry, Boss! I didn’t know you were here! It won’t happen again!”
“Sorry? Do you want me to believe you’re sorry?”
To my shock, the man suddenly lifted his head and pulled out a knife. “I am, Boss!”
And before I could even process what was happening, he sliced off his own pinky finger.
My mouth fell open in horror. Why?
“I’m really sorry, Boss.”
The man holding the gun only shook his head.
“Leave now before I change my mind,” he ordered authoritatively.
The man scrambled to his feet and hurried out of the room.
I couldn’t believe what I had just witnessed. Why did he have to cut off his finger? Who was this man?
I froze when the man with the gun slowly turned toward me. I still couldn’t completely make out his face, but I could feel his eyes fixed on me too.
I swallowed hard and slowly knelt down.
“T-Thank you,” I whispered softly.
The man suddenly crouched down until we were eye level. Without warning, he grabbed my chin and forced me to face him. Then he closed his eyes for a moment, almost like he was smelling the air around me.
What was he doing?
When he opened his eyes again, he was already smirking.
I blinked repeatedly as I stared into them.
In my entire life, it was my first time seeing gray eyes this close. And the way he looked at me—it felt as though he could already see straight into my soul. His sharp nose and slightly reddish lips only made him even more striking.
He looked so angelic… if not for the tattoos covering his body.
“Thank you? Do you really think I’ll accept a simple thank you for saving you?” he asked.
My brows furrowed. “Huh?”
I gasped when he suddenly lifted me effortlessly and threw me over his shoulder. His body was large and tall, so I wasn’t even surprised that carrying me seemed easy for him.
Although his hard shoulder was digging into my stomach hurt terribly.
But where was he taking me? And why was he carrying me?
“W-Wait! Put me down!”
I never expected that entering that club to learn about sex would actually teach my heart how to love. Not that it was my first time falling in love, but this kind of love… Who would have thought I’d find it with a ruthless Mafia boss?A genuine love.He gave me a reason to understand my own worth as a woman. That someone like me could be loved — and deserved to be loved.Marco Valenti taught me that even the scariest person in the world was capable of love. And I did the same for him.Several months had passed since our second wedding. Just like he promised, this one was much grander. There were more guests, and this time, my family was there with me in Russia. They flew in especially for the ceremony.Mama was shocked when I told her everything. They were angry at Greg too. But in the end, they said
Marco never let me go after that. Even when we slept, we stayed side by side. I didn’t want to be away from him either. I was terrified that someone might suddenly appear and take me away from him again. When we got back, my heart broke all over again. Nana Lucing was already laid out for her wake. I cried and cried over what happened to her.She didn’t deserve any of it. She was just a loyal servant. Her whole life, she had served the Valenti family. Because of her, the Philippines had become close to Marco. And this was how it ended for her.Marco didn’t say anything, but I could feel the sadness in him too. He stood silently in front of Nana Lucing’s coffin for several minutes. After the burial of Nana Lucing and the fallen men, Marco decided it was time for us to go to Russia. I didn’t want to leave yet, but he refused to let me
I buried my face in Marco’s chest and hugged him as tightly as I could. He was okay. He wasn’t hurt. That was all that mattered to me.I broke down into heavy sobs. I pulled away from him and looked up at his face.“W-What are you doing here? Why did you come?” I asked. He just looked at me with gentle understanding. He cupped my face and wiped my tears with his thumb.“Why wouldn’t I? I told you… I will burn the world for you. I will kill anyone who tries to lay a hand on you. I won’t hesitate, Lorribel.”I cried even harder. He was so stubborn. He must have known coming here would put him in danger, yet he still came!I buried my face in his chest again.“W-What if you got hurt? What if he killed you? You shouldn’t hav
Ever since Peter told me those words, I couldn’t stop crying. How could he even think of doing that to his own cousin? And he was going to use me just to carry out his plan!I just hoped Marco wouldn’t come looking for me. I hoped what they said was true — that he was only using me. Because if he didn’t come here, he wouldn’t be in danger.I would be fine. I couldn’t bear it if I were the reason he got hurt. But that same night, Peter’s men came and took me. They brought me downstairs to a long dining table. There was food again — dishes I didn’t recognize. Lucille was there too, still glaring at me with pure hatred.“Lorribel. Sit down.”I sat on Peter’s left side. There was already a plate and utensils waiting. Lucille sat directly across from me, never taking her
I kept pacing back and forth inside the room where Peter’s men had locked me. I had overheard one of the men call him by that name earlier. We were on an island. From what I could observe, it was a private, exclusive one. I didn’t see any other people except for us, who had just arrived from the yacht. I wasn’t even sure if we were still in the Philippines. Almost everyone around me spoke a different language.I walked over to the window and peeked outside. At the dock, another yacht had just arrived. Several men were unloading large boxes. Just by their posture and movements, they looked dangerous. There were armed guards patrolling everywhere. I wouldn’t be surprised if every corner of this house had someone watching too.Oh God… Where is Marco? Why hasn’t he come for me yet?
In the blink of an eye, I was on a boat. I could tell from the way the waves moved under my feet. My body swayed slightly with the motion, making me dizzy. My hands and feet were tightly bound. A blindfold covered my eyes, and a gag was stuffed in my mouth. I was crying, with no idea if I would ever see sunlight again.Nana Lucing… I could still clearly see the moment the bullet went through her head. They killed her without mercy.I cried even harder.Who were these people? What did they want from me? Why did they take me? Why did they kill Nana Lucing?I didn’t know what happened to Marco. Or if he was safe. Where was he? Why hadn’t I seen him yet? After a while, I heard footsteps approaching. Someone suddenly yanked the blindfold off my eyes. Once my vision adjusted to the light, I saw a man sitting on a wooden chai
My head almost swelled from what he said.He chose me? I belonged to him now?Had he completely lost his mind?!Before I could stop myself, my hand flew across his face and slapped him hard. He instantly grabbed my wrist and pushed it slightly away from him.I swallowed hard when I saw his expressi
All I wanted was to learn how to romance my husband. So how did I end up in a situation like this?Regret flooded me even more because of all the ridiculous things I decided to do tonight. If only I had stayed home instead, waiting for Greg to come back.I had no choice but to let the man who saved
I felt like sinking into the floor from embarrassment because of what I was wearing.I only had panties on. If they could even be called panties when the only thing they covered was the bare minimum between my legs. My hips and lower stomach were completely exposed. The black stockings attached to
One year. That’s how long I’ve been married to my husband, Greg Lawson. And in that entire year of being husband and wife, nothing has ever happened between us.Honestly, I tried.
