Ace's POV

I freed myself off my tie and two buttons from my shirt as soon as we got into the Lamborghini while waiting for the chauffeur to ignite the engine.

It was until then that I could finally breathe in fresh air of which the media was fully the major cause of my initial suffocation.

Despite being aware earlier on of everything we played in front of the media, I still couldn't help but to feel pressured by that act.

It was just supposed to be a facade for the public, but it definitely took a great toll on me.

I glanced at the lady beside me to see if she felt the same way but as usual, her expression wasn't easy to fathom, which makes me wonder what she could be thinking at the moment.

I admitted she looked too gorgeous in that wedding dress, even when I only had a little chance to adore her.

If it were to be in the past, I would have hushed praises into her ears and probably, she would smile back whilst doing the same. But things were different between us now.

I clenched my fists, trying to brush past the clouding thoughts of the sight I witnessed that night—the night which changed everything between us, while closing my eyes and resting my head.

The anger that I'd forgotten for a brief moment, or so I thought, returned at once and I realized one thing. No matter what I felt being closer to her presently, the feeling of hatred from that night would definitely surpass such feeling.

There was no specific reason as to why I accepted this marriage again, especially after what she'd done days back. But I knew dad was going to link me to another arranged marriage if eventually this didn't work out.

It was better getting married to Brittany on contract then live like strangers since we both despised one another than to live with a lady who would probably feel too obligated as my wife.

The last thing I wanted was to be tied to a marriage with a lady. I preferred having them at my disposal, and different ones at that.

“Stop the car.” I heard all of a sudden, and I was forced to open my eyes.

The car stopped and Brittany stepped out of the car with her fighting along with her dress. The sight would have been funny if everything was good at the moment.

My brows furrowed as I sat up, watching in silence where she was headed until she got into another car which I didn't realize had stopped in front of ours.

Who the f*ck came to pick her up? And why?

I remained long-necked until I became certain that no one was in the car with her except for the man who was obviously just a chauffeur.

The car finally drove away, then my chauffeur made to proceed our journey, but I stopped him.

“Take me to the penthouse.” I stated after a while of thinking if it was the right decision to follow the car which took Brittany, but I thought against it in the next second.

“Alright sir.” The chauffeur nodded, then changed his direction.

√√√√√√√~~~~

“Congratulations to the latest groom in town.” I heard immediately I stepped my foot into the penthouse.

There was a pop of champagne followed by a loud chant. I shook my head and paused in my steps, staring at them as they jumped up in smiles like kids.

Some content of champagne splashed on me and I heaved a heavy sigh. They were already grown men yet still acted like teenagers.

“Come on in, man.” Wayne approached me and dragged me further into the room.

“Here, have some.” Kelvin uttered, pouring champagne into one of the empty glass cups as he stretched it out to me.

I collected it before slumping down to the nearest couch as I crossed my legs and took a sip.

“Congratulations, bro, you've made us proud.” Alex said, tapping my shoulder with an instinctive smile.

He was the most innocent among us, while Wayne and Kelvin were as naughty, just like me. Although, Alex used to be like us but something or rather someone changed him along the years—his crush in college.

Just the same way I once changed for Brittany, and she messed it all up, but that didn't stop Alex from being our friend.

I glanced at him as he was sitting on the same couch and in the same position as I was. “Well, thanks bro.” The sarcasm in my tone made all of them chuckle.

“Never have I thought you'd be the first to stand at the altar to say the wedding vows, dude.” Wayne stated a fact as he took a seat on the opposite couch.

Well, it was a fact because I had also never thought of it, not once in my entire life.

“None of us thought of it, even he doesn't know it.” Kelvin chipped in as he also took a seat, beside Wayne.

“Or am I wrong?” He added, lifting an eyebrow.

Their gazes turned towards my direction before they all busted into howling laughter when I didn't reply. I joined in the laughter and soon, it died down.

“What do you expect from someone who clearly wants to remain single all his life?” Wayne voiced out, immediately the laughter died down, earning another round of chuckle from the guys.

“Thank Goodness, you all know that.” I sneered and took a sip of champagne.

“Why does this place look dry?” I raised a question, feasting my eyes around.

What I expected was something bubbly going on in the penthouse, but I was surprised when I met only the guys inside.

“Huh?” I repeated and took my gaze to the guys to see Wayne and Kelvin exchanging a knowing smile.

“This is nothing compared to what we have for you. This was just our own responsible way of saying congratulations.” Kelvin stated with a lopsided smile.

“Yeah, the main thing is yet to come.” Wayne added, nodding in agreement.

Alex scoffed from where he sat as he turned me to face him. “Dude! You just got married today. You should be with your bride and not planning to club with some single pringles like us.”

“Speak for yourself, Alex. It's not like the supposed bride is willing to give him what he desires.” Kelvin rebuked instantly, his tone suddenly sounding slightly irritated.

“But it's still not right for him to go clubbing today, of all days. What if he is seen? And with a stripper at that? Then.......”

“That's enough guys. Whether married or not, nothing's going to change. This has been my lifestyle even before I got married, so it'll remain that way.” Interrupting Alex who sounded ever ready to start an argument, I set a boundary for both of them not to cross, and they knew better.

Alex scoffed out before he sprang to his feet, “You trio can suit yourselves.” Then he brushed past and stomped out of the penthouse.

Ugh, Alex and his flimsy anger! He would come along when he was back to his calm self.

“I think it's time I see what you guys have in stall for me.” I chimed in, standing to my feet in the next minute.

The place was becoming too boring for me, that I could no longer stand it.

“Bro, you just spoke my mind. Let's just go already, it's way fun over there.” Wayne agreed with me then dragged Kelvin who stood up crookedly.

Obviously, he was still angry at the argument he had with Alex.

“Come on guys.” Wayne added before finally dragging Kelvin out, and I followed suit.

~~ Brittany's POV ~~I couldn't be more shocked tonight. Was it when I first heard my name called out by the emcee? Or when Ace urged me to go on that stage? Was it when I walked to the podium? Or when I sealed a deal worth $150 billion? A long-term partnership I had always yearned for but failed to get despite my hard work. Then, all of a sudden, I found myself in front of hundreds of business profiles as part of the partnership. I received applause and credit for everything, despite doing nothing.Immediately after the event ended, I felt utterly smothered. Literally everyone congratulated me. Some of which I knew were not genuine. But I was too overly excited to give meaning to whatever motive was behind their fake congratulations. Besides, it was something I'd learnt while growing up. When I finally needed Ace by my side, he was nowhere to be seen until Alex told me he was with his Dad on one of the top floors. And that was how my mood got ruined by Elvira."Don't pay attention

  • Married To The Casanova CEO   Chapter 96 - The mess she created.

~~ Ace's POV I watched as my father stood in front of the floor-to-ceiling window, staring into the dark yet night that glistened with lights everywhere. Yet I knew the neutral expression I had managed to mirror on his face contradicted the rage that burned inside of him.The event had only just ended when he called me into this suite on the top floor. But for over twenty minutes, he hadn't spoken a word since we got there. And it made the atmosphere slightly awkward. I expected him to yell as usual. Rant like never before while I gave him a piece of my mind. After what seemed like forever, he eventually turned to face me, his eyes glowing with anger, as I presumed. But his face held something else. Something I barely understood.“Go back downstairs. We can't leave our guests without a goodbye.” He walked to the dark leather opposite me.“What?”“Make sure none of our business partners leaves the event feeling upset.”I stood there, shocked at his words. His facial expression was di

  • Married To The Casanova CEO   Chapter 95 - Business collaboration.

~~ Ace's POV ~~ "You must be so proud to have a competent son who can run the company without issues, Chairman. Not only did he bring home a trophy wife to increase the company's infrastructure, but he keeps closing deals and even bringing more golden collaborations that could make the company more unstoppable." Laughter erupted in the air immediately. My father was enjoying most of the entire conversation with a boastful smile smeared across his face. "Yes. That's why a son is so important. They are the ones fit for these things." My Father, the chairman responded still with that smug look, a look that mostly looked down on everyone else. I suddenly wished to be everywhere but there, just like Brittany who had managed to slip out of our midst when she went to attend to some acquaintance from her company. From where I stood, I could watch her every movement. Just as she had gracefully gotten out of that car outside, my eyes couldn't leave her from that moment onward. I studie

  • Married To The Casanova CEO   Chapter 94 - A great significance.

The ride to the exquisite hall was as silent and quiet as a graveyard. Except for the low humming of the car and the mellow, low-pitched sound of the tires against the tiled road as we drove, everything else felt awkward.Shantel sat in the front seat, her side of the window open as she stared outside, completely resting on her seat. She hadn't said a word to me since our intense bicker on the back porch of the house. Throughout the reapplication and readjustment of my makeup, it felt so uncomfortable looking her in the eyes most times while we said nothing to each other.Unlike our first makeup session where everything felt at ease. And every conversation came with smiles and laughter.Charlotte, on the other hand, sat next to me in the backseat and I knew she had quite a lot to say to us - Shantel and me. Especially me. But she was barely withholding on while pretending to type away on her phone. I felt her constantly stealing glances at us while she thought I wasn't looking. Or ra

  • Married To The Casanova CEO   Chapter 93 - More than a betrayal.

If it had been in the past, I would have no worries. It would have been a normal thing. But this was the present Charlotte we were talking about. The same Charlotte who never failed to show how much she despised me. Who believed I did so many wrongs to her brother. Even when I still didn't know what I did wrong."You didn't even say a 'thank you'." She muttered, breaking away from my gaze. "This would have been less awkward."I was dumbfounded. Wondering why she changed all of a sudden when I saw Shantel coming out of the house. She was completely dressed, her curly hair bouncing behind her as she walked. Red heels to match the royal blue dress that stopped above her knees and a red clutch by her right hand. But rather than the calm and cool-headed Shantel I left behind, she looked furious. Infuriated. Rather disappointed. Betrayed. And I felt all the emotions were directed towards me.When she saw us, she tried to mask her emotions. Maybe because she saw Charlotte standing beside me.

  • Married To The Casanova CEO   Chapter 92 - You look stunning.

~~ Brittany's POV ~~ I stared at the huge dressing mirror in front of me, face blank. Contrary to the beautiful figure in a dazzling black stone dress. Off shoulder dress, long enough to touch the glassy floor underneath me. I was looking far beyond the physical appearance that stared back at me in an expression that clearly explained one thing - worry. My last conversation with Emma didn't stop ringing in my ears. "Mummy, who is my father?" "Where is he? And why isn't he with us?" Days had passed yet those words still lingered in my mind like a memory meant to haunt and taunt me in every possible way until I gave way to its demands. I barely did any work for the past few days without the words crossing my mind. And when it did, it gave me the fear of the unknown. I knew it wasn't unexpected. In fact, I had expected the question from her for a long time, and it had become my constant fear. Was it on her second year birthday? The birthday afterwards? I think the fear crept in a

~~ Brittany's POV ~~A sharp, long-stretched moan escaped my lungs as soon as Ace's finger pushed its way inside me. He pulled his finger out and went in again with a pause, letting my walls give in to the adjustments as he rubbed my clit with the other four fingers. Everything was slow at first, n

~~ Brittany's POV~~"I'm sorry if I had kept you waiting. There were some emergency matters that I had to deal with." ~~ Brittany's POV ~~ Everywhere became silent again when the video stopped, and I glanced at the so-called diligent employee as she called herself.
