MasukHis hands framed my throat, his thumb tracing my racing pulse. Desire darkened his gaze. “Say it,” he whispered, raw and commanding. “Say who you belong to.” “You,” I gasped, voice breaking into a moan as his rhythm consumed me. “I’m yours.” His mouth claimed mine, all fire and hunger. ⸻ Talia never expected her worst nightmare to be her destined mate. Cassian — the boy who made her life a living hell, the one she swore she’d never forgive — turned out to be the one fate chose for her. Now bound by a force stronger than hate, she must decide if love can bloom where pain once lived… or if some scars run too deep. But fate isn’t done with her yet. Because in the shadows waits another bond, a second mate whose touch feels just as forbidden… and just as inevitable.

“Stop?” He chuckled, the sound low, twisted. His eyes were wide with glee as he opened the book, my secrets and shame bare to him. “My mummy hates me… aw” he pouted mockingly “trouble at home?” The crowd laughed, amused by him, by my humiliation. I glared at him, refusing to back down. Cassian Cross, my arch nemesis. He and his minions: Kira and Nicole made my life a living hell. They followed me through elementary school, middle school and now high school, making it their mission to humiliate me. He flipped another page of my diary. I grew impatient, agitated. My eyes filled with tears, horror and desperation making me tremble. I darted my eyes around, searching for someone, anyone to help me, to stop him. But they all had their attention on him, eagerly waiting for the next line of humiliation. I could almost see them salivate. “Oh, check this out” he smiled, showing the page to Kira “ he bullies me all the time, I hate myself for it, hate him for making me feel this way…” my heart sank. “No ! Stop !” I screamed, lunging at him but was held back by two random boys. I struggled, trying to break free, tears of humiliation flowing down my cheeks. Please not that page, anyone can read it but not him, not Cassian. “But why…” he continued “why do I feel this way ?” No. I tried to break free, scratching at their arms but it was no use, they were stronger than me “why does he make me feel this way?” His eyes widened, surprised. He looked away from the page for a moment, locking eyes with me. His eyes softened for a split second then it hardened again, hatred boring into my soul. He went back to destroying me “Why do I like him? Why do I want him?” He finished, shattering my heart and my dignity. My resolve crumbled. The crowd “ooed” at the revelation. I glanced around, their faces blurred by my tears. The boys let go of me and I crumpled to the ground in defeat, my strength gone just like my dignity. I looked up at him to find his eyes already trained on me. His expression was unreadable. Then he smiled. I averted my gaze to the ground. I hated him, I hated him so much. Why was he so cruel? I felt a soft hand grab me. I looked up to find blue eyes staring down at me. Her blonde hair cascaded down her face as she bent over. Her expression was soft, sad. Tasha My twin. My lips wobbled and I broke down completely. She knelt in front of me, holding me tightly. Her arms were soft, comforting. My body trembled as I sobbed, not caring where I was. I couldn’t care. “It’s okay,” she whispered into my hair. “Let’s get out of here.” She helped me up and pulled me in the opposite direction, away from him and the crowd. I could hear them laughing behind us, laughing at me and my foolish crush on my bully. My heart tightened, my hatred stronger. I would never forgive him. Never.Talia's POV FIVE YEARS LATER The house was loud. Not the kind of loud that came with danger or panic, the kind that came with chaos, children, and one absolutely unhinged uncle. I leaned against the kitchen doorway, pinching the bridge of my nose as a high-pitched shriek echoed through the hall. "MILO! TELL THEM TO LEAVE MY WOLF PLUSHIE ALONE!" That was Rowan, my son. One half of the twins. He was wild like fire, sharp like a blade and stubborn like... well, me. "No!" his sister Aria snapped back. "It's mine now! You said I could hold it!" "I SAID YOU COULD HOLD IT, NOT KIDNAP IT!" Before I could intervene, Nicole popped out from behind the couch holding a tray of cookies and wearing a ridiculous apron. "Children!" he announced dramatically. "You must learn the ways of negotiation. Aria, demand concessions. Rowan, threaten war. This is very simple." "Nicole," I groaned, "stop encouraging them." "Encouraging?" Nicole gasped, fake-offended."I'm educating them. These are val
Talia’s POV I stood in front of the mirror, staring at my reflection. “Is it like a wedding?”Nicole sighed, rolling his eyes for what had to be the hundredth time that day. “No, Talia.” He spun me around by the shoulders till I was facing him. “It’s a Luna coronation.”“I didn’t know that was a thing.” I whispered, playing with my dress. I felt an unusual stir of nerves.“It is. It’s ancient culture, not completely necessary but…” he trailed off. “It’s cute, I guess. Cassian had been planning one for you before…”Right.I straightened. But the nerves in my stomach didn’t die down.“You’re going to be alright,” Nicole reassured softly. “The pack loves you, you’re their hero.”I scoffed.“I don’t need their love.”Not after they abandoned me and turned their backs to me when I needed them the most.“You’ll grow to love them.”“I won’t.”He opened his mouth to argue when the door pushed open. Katherine’s head popped in. “It’s time.”I nodded. I looked at Nicole one last time.“W
Cassian’s POV“So Mason, huh?”Nicole’s head snapped up, uncertainty flickering across his face.“Yeah,” he mumbled almost sheepishly. “I know he’s your nemesis and all, but—”I crossed my arms, leaning against the kitchen wall.Talia was still asleep—after I’d thoroughly worn her out last night—so I’d taken the opportunity to talk to Nicole. My best friend.“It doesn’t matter what he is to me,” I shrugged. “What matters is what he is to you.”His eyes widened slightly.“Does he make you happy?”Silence stretched between us.Nicole’s expression shifted slowly—surprise, longing, relief, happiness. Then finally—Something softer.Something almost sad.My chest tightened painfully.“Yeah,” he whispered. “He does.”I nodded once, an unfamiliar ache settling in my chest. We both knew what that meant.I wanted to argue. Wanted to convince him not to leave.Wanted to selfishly ask him to stay. But I couldn’t.Not when the heaviness that had haunted him for months was finally gone. Not when h
Talia’s POV“How long was I out?” I asked Cassian as I pulled my clothes on.After another day hidden away in the woods, wrapped in each other, he had mindlinked someone to bring us clothes. He shrugged lazily from where he leaned against the tree, his arms coming around my waist the second I stepped close enough.“Two days?” He mumbled, pressing a slow kiss to my lips.I opened my mouth to respond, but he took the opportunity to deepen the kiss, his tongue slipping into my mouth like he couldn’t help himself.A soft sound escaped me before I could stop it.I kissed him back instinctively, my hands flattening against his chest.I didn’t know whether to push him away or pull him impossibly closer. His hand tangled in my hair as the heat between us thickened.I moaned quietly, feeling warmth pool low in my stomach. My wolf stirred hungrily.“Cass,” I breathed against his mouth. “We have to stop.”He stepped forward anyway, crowding into my space until my back hit the rough bark of the t
Nicole's POV"Alpha Mason," Serena greeted, her eyes darkening. "Welcome to the party.""Order your subordinates to back off," Mason growled, his eyes flashing between yellow and brown.Serena tilted her head, studying him with that calculating look. "And if I refuse?" She tested. Mason didn't bl
Nicole’s POVIf Mason wasn’t going to stop playing controlling Alpha, then I’d figure out a different way to be of help. I couldn’t reach Damien through the mindlink—but no one ever said anything about reaching him physically. I’d pondered it all night, all day, until the decision settled heavy i
Cassian's POV I'd felt it days ago. The sudden hum of a bond. A connection to someone—or something. It felt like a thread—a tiny but strong thread, one that made my pulse race, that made my wolf claw even harder to break free from whatever cage he was in. It felt familiar, familiar in a way th
Nicole's POV'Damien,' I called again, pushing the word into the link, reaching for that familiar mindlink thread. But as expected—nothing.Silence greeted me, cold and final.I exhaled slowly and let my shoulders relax. This was starting to take a physical strain on me. My thoughts drifted, uni
